This issue is one that was made a recall already as of recent, I had gotten my brake lines flushed and refilled and filled to correct amount and yet soon after or not to too long after I had the issue with breaking, I thought it was my brake pads but it indeed was not when I got home and the engine cooled down I checked the brake fluid reservoir and it had been almost empty, I added more and fille
... d it again and since then it hasn’t been a problem again, but when it was a problem, I was going highway speeds when I then felt the car was off on the braking I was actually concerned if I was going to be able to stop in time especially when i was hitting the exit ramp. It no longer has been an issue since I refilled the reservoir but i don’t know if it’ll happen again or not and when and where I’ll be next time it happens. Since I now know it’s a recall and it wasn’t just a one off with just my car I am now reporting this.Read more

My wife has a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. This vehicle has what I believe is an extremely unsafe placement of the brake and accelerator pedals. The pedals are extremely close together, closer than I have ever seen on any other vehicle. My wife has depressed the accelerator while pressing the brake pedal on more than one occasion. We went recently for an oil change. The technician pressed the
... accelerator while pressing the brake pedal while putting the vehicle into reverse. The vehicle lunged into the parking lot. Fortunately, there were no vehicles behind my vehicle. If the technician had been shifting from neutral into drive, he would have driven into the building. The technician said that he has had similar experiences with Ford vehicles and that one of his relatives has a Ford and that this is a frequent experience with that vehicle. I am a disabled Veteran with a below knee amputation of the right leg. I have had no problem driving vehicles before this one. I have stopped driving this vehicle because I believe it is a crash waiting to happen. I have asked numerous people to sit in the vehicle and see if they feel that the pedals are too close together. To date, all have said that they feel that the pedals are too close together and that they would not drive the vehicle in question because they also feel that this vehicle and no doubt other Ford vehicles with this pedal arrangement are crashes waiting to happen. I request that NHTSA look into the pedal arrangement of this vehicle and all Ford vehicles as I believe this arrangement is a safety hazard that is on the highways of America and may have contributed or directly caused numerous crashes since at least 2005.Read more

Summary: Failure of AWD/transfer case control module causing loss of multiple safety and driveline functions. Vehicle is currently being repaired at Ford dealership so will have already been corrected. While driving, multiple dash warnings appeared: “Service AdvanceTrac,” “AWD Not Available,” “Hill Start Assist Not Available,” and “Drive Mode Not Available.” The vehicle lost all a
... ll-wheel-drive functionality as well as traction/stability features. Dealer diagnosed an internal failure of the AWD/transfer case control module. Safety Impact: This failure disables critical safety systems (AdvanceTrac stability control, Hill Start Assist, AWD traction). In poor weather or emergency maneuvers, loss of these systems could increase the risk of crash. Repair Estimate: Dealer quoted ~$1,070 for replacement of AWD control module (parts, labor, and programming). Concern: This is a major driveline and safety system failure at only 40,000 miles. Ford previously acknowledged AWD module defects in 2020 Escapes under Customer Satisfaction Program 21B19, which suggests this may be a broader issue that warrants investigation or recall.Read more

Brakes release briefly when slowing to a stop. While slowing to a stop with steady pressure on the brake pedal, the braking action will momentarily give out, resulting in the vehicle lurching forward beyond the anticipated stopping/slowing distance before the braking action re-engages. This has resulted in near collisions with cars, bikes, and pedestrians as the vehicle suddenly stops slowing with
... out warning and unexpectedly increases stopping distance. The problem is intermittent and difficult to reproduce, but has occurred repeatedly over at least 6 months of ownership. No warning lamps, error messages, or other related symptoms from the vehicle either before or after occurrences of the problem. Has been taken to the dealership for an update to the vehicle but it didn’t fix it. There are multiple reports online and multiple lawyers talking about this.Read more

My car has been well maintained and always taken for service according to recommendations from the manufacturer. Now a more serious concern I am having after manufacturer warranty is my dash is displaying a shift to park message every time I shift into park
... and turn off my car. I also might add that this has been going on with others! Chevy doesn’t think it’s a concern when it is a very serious issue. I have children and once when I went to get gas after almost being on empty my car wouldn’t turn off because of that error and I couldn’t get gas. I tried turning it off and on multiple times to fix but it just didn’t want to work when I needed it most. I have to aggressively charge gears go get it to work most of the time. It’s a serious issue that has been brought to their attention and shouldn’t be happening to a vehicle under 50,000 miles and well maintained. These issues need to be addressed there’s no reason I should have to pay to fix an issue this extensive and costly in a 2022 vehicle.Read more

While in the elementary school carline this morning, waiting to drop my kids off at school, my brakes completely failed unexpectedly, causing me to roll into the SUV in front of me. The line in the mornings is long and slow moving and I was stopped behind several other cars also waiting to drop their kids off — letting off the break and re-engaging the break to move forward as the line progres
... sed. Halfway through the carline, I pushed on my break as the car in front of me had come to another complete stop, however, my break never engaged and my Wagoneer continued to roll forward without any warning or rationale. I continued to frantically push on my brakes trying to get my car to stop without them ever engaging and I rolled directly into the back of the SUV in front of me. I ultimately had to turn the gear to 'Park' to prevent the car from continuing to move forward. After sitting for a second and shifting it back into Drive, I did not experience another issue, however drove straight home and have not driven it again out of fear. My brake fluid was replaced less than 3 months ago and my pads and rotors are in great shape. There is zero reason this could have happened. I have an appointment with the mechanic (Corwin Jeep) tomorrow morning to look into the issue. Thankfully no damage was done to either car based on how slowly we were moving (1-2mph) but I cannot stress enough how catastrophic this could have been had a child been walking in front of my car, or had I been driving on the open road. This needs to be looked into urgently and a recall issued if others are reporting this same problem.Read more

On July 31st, while backing up on a clear road in rain the brakes locked suddenly. The brakes applied & a message saying Emergency Parking brake engaged. Must be manually released. They said this was not a known problem and to them it appeared to fix itself but would let me know if there was any way to fix. Car has just been in for regular multi point inspection on July 24th. On August 20th went to get in the car but none of the key fobs would open it. Called two dealerships but neither could come up with answer. Chevy Roadside was called & came to get into the car and ended up jumping it. At that time the battery was tested and it appeared fine. It was recommended to run it for a half hour. I ended up driving it for an hour with no extras on. On August 25th the next day I went to drive it the battery of this 1 year old car was dead. Called the two dealerships to see what could be done & was told to bring it in. Called Chevy Roadside Assistance who dispatched someone to open the car and jump the battery. This person found the battery was not holding a charge & said nothing when I said I was driving it to the dealership. Got 3 houses away & a message that the Brakes have failed. Press hard to brake popped up. In addition the steering locked up. I missed hitting a lady with a kid in a stroller by 6 ft but managed to get it to the curve & with 3 pushes into park. It was towed to the dealership. When it arrived at the dealership the brakes locked up so it would not back up off the flatbed. It had to be forced off. The brake system on my 2018 Ford F-150 2.7L EcoBoost began failing around early 2025 with a brake warning light illuminating and the pedal feeling soft, signaling a problem. The brake fluid reservoir dropped low repeatedly despite topping it off multiple times with DOT 3 fluid, indicating a persistent leak. By 09:52 AM CDT today, September 10, 2025, the brake pedal lost all pressure, making the ve
... hicle completely undrivable and posing a severe safety risk due to significantly increased stopping distances and potential brake failure. At 10:37 AM CDT, thick white smoke started billowing from the exhaust each time the vehicle was started, likely from brake fluid leaking into the engine via the brake booster, a symptom matching Ford recall 25S37 (NHTSA 25V236) for a defective brake master cylinder seal. This failure endangers the driver, passengers, and other road users, as the truck is a primary vehicle, with the smoke suggesting a fire hazard and possible engine damage like stalling or misfires. The issue is reproducible, with the warning light, fluid loss, and soft/no pedal persisting since early 2025, worsening today with the smoke appearing consistently on startup. It has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center yet, as the vehicle is undrivable, but I plan to tow it to a Ford dealership for inspection under the recall. No manufacturer, police, insurance, or other inspection has occurred, as the smoke issue escalated this morning; prior rear left electronic parking brake actuator replacements in 2025 due to fluid leaks were done at home. The brake master cylinder and possibly the brake booster are the failed components, with the actuator issue likely related, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request or at a dealership. Symptoms first appeared with the warning light and soft pedal in early 2025, followed by fluid loss, complete pedal failure, and smoke today at 09:52 AM CDT.Read more

The Mercedes GLE450 was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, the driver entered the intersection. The driver accelerated again, but this time the car went backwards into the car behind him. The driver had not shifted into reverse. So the car both slammed on
... the brakes, and switched the transmission into reverse, without driver input. Mercedes-Benz USA conducted an investigation and produced data showing that the car shifted into reverse while it was driving forward; they claimed this was driver error. However, the dealer (and our own experience) says it is impossible to shift the car into reverse when it is driving forward; the car must be stopped before it can shift into reverse. We have asked them to explain this seeming incoherence in their explanation, but they have not responded. Our conclusion is that the car malfunctioned. We still have the dashcam footage recorded during the incident, if that is needed.Read more
