Towing was difficult due to the inability to keep the vehicle in neutral. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer, and diagnostics identified a high-voltage isolation fault (DTC P0AA6) traced to the air conditioning compressor on the hybrid system. The component is currently being replaced. The sudden shutdown combined with increased steering effort and inability to safely pull over created a significant safety risk.Read more

The 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid has had multiple occasions, most recently on February 3, 2026 with 12,330 miles on the car, where the gas-powered engine fails to provide any power to the drivetrain. ... en when the gas pedal is pegged to the floor. It is necessary to pull over, engage the flashing safety lights and try to find a safe place to park. After turning the vehicle off and on several times, eventually, the gas engines re-engages. The first incident of this type for this vehicle was on August 7, 2025 with approximately 4,400 miles on the vehicle. It was taken to the dealer, Key Hyundai of Salem, who could not find any DTCs and could not replicate the problem. They said "bring it back if it happens again." They next time was on February 3, 2026 where it happened several times on a trip to and from a local restaurant. This time, at DTC code of P088000 POWERTRAIN / POWERLOSS was recorded and reported. However, by the time the car was seen by Key Hyundai of Salem on February 5, 2026, the code has cleared itself. Hyundai's corporate policy is that historical codes can not be used for Warranty claims. So, the dealer tried one potential fix, cleaning the TCM connectors under the driver's seat, and returned the vehicle stating that Hyundai corporate would not authorize warranty work unless/until the car was presented to the dealership with a current / live DTC or visible broken parts. It seems unsafe to put a vehicle back on the road that could lose power and drivability at any time for no apparent reason. I am aware that there have been several other reports of similar POWER LOSS / LIMP MODE situations by owners of 2024-25 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrids. At the moment, I am told that there is no current Technical Service Bulletin on this from Hyundai.Read more

Yesterday, February 6th, about 12:15 pm in the afternoon, while I was getting off the I-405 in Renton Washington and merging onto the southbound lanes of 167. I was in the left lane and I made it about a quarter mile down 167 doing about 60 to 65 miles per hour and I lost power suddenly. As I started to merge into the right lane, I noticed the engine light came on, and then the truck seemed to kick down into first gear while I was doing 50 miles per hour, which instantly slowed it down. This forced me to cross over an on-ramp lane to get to the shoulder and come to a complete stop. After that, the truck would not start at all. I then had to sit on the side of the road for three and a half hours waiting for a tow truck to take me and my truck back to the dealership, which is also the same dealership where I bought the truck back in 2019. They have not diagnosed it yet as I just dropped it off at 4 pm on 2/5/2026. My truck has approximately 155,000 miles on it.Read more

Ironically, I believe the truck had just got out of Warranty, what a complete waste of thousands of dollars including the warranty that is always useless. I did not reach out to the dealership because I knew it was going to cost me an arm and a leg just for a diagnostic only for them not to find a problem. There was No Warning Light Flashing to notify me that my truck was taking a dump or any error code of any sort for a diagnostic to pinpoint the issue. I am surprised this has not turned into a Class Action Lawsuit (not yet anyways). My Father made me a Chevrolet person but with all the recent Engine/Powertrain problems with General Motors. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, repaired, and returned to me on November 4, 2025. Unfortunately, on February 3, 2026, a second serious incident occurred. After my wife picked up my son from school, the vehicle began jerking violently while driving, and a strong sulphur-like odor entered the cabin. Fearing for their safety, she immediately stopped driving. The vehicle was again towed to BMW of Jackson. I was informed today by the service advisor that the failure is due to another hybrid-related component, specifically the EME Hybrid Inverter, and that BMW North America is declining to cover this repair under warranty. These repeated hybrid system failures are deeply concerning, particularly given that both incidents involved my wife and children and posed clear safety risks. As a result, both of my children are now fearful of riding in the vehicle, and this situation has caused significant emotional distress to my family. Given the nature of these failures, the vehicle’s purchase price, and BMW’s emphasis on safety and engineering excellence, I find it unacceptable that a critical hybrid component failure would not be covered under warranty—especially following a prior hybrid system failure less than four months earlier. On 2/19/25, I was driving to work. Approximately 2 miles from home I started to hear a grinding / humming noise coming from the front differential, like the 4 wheel drive was engaged. I pulled over and confirmed the 4 wheel drive switch was turned off. I backed up about 20 feet, to disengage the 4 wheel drive. I continued on my way. About 3 miles later the noise returned. Had the truck towed to Ford dealership. Technician could not replicate the condition. They performed a Ford TSB (24-2188) Transfer case control module reprogram. Out of caution, I paid them to replace the 4 wheel drive actuator ($445.00 repair). Mileage on vehicle 74354. Problem seemed to be resolved, until 9/13/25. I was driving on a very busy interstate, approximately 60 mph, I hear a loud thump, like I ran over something on the road. Loud humming and bad vibration coming from front end. No place to pull over safely, reduced speed to 45 mph. As I pull to side of the road at about 5 mph, the 4 wheel drive disengages, vibration & noise goes away. During the last two years with my 2017 Ford F150 XLT 4X4 5.4L, I've replaced the brake pads 8 times. I've also replaced the rotors on all 4 wheels. Each time, with less than 30,000 miles between needing to replace the pads, the front pads have worn down the entire pad at an unreasonable rate. I do not brake hard, and I drive mostly on highways without much traffic, so having to replace the pads ev
... ery other month is excessive. With new rotors, still the pads continue wearing down to plate quickly. I've also had to replace the calipers on each wheel more than once because the caliper pins seize and will break when trying to adjust the caliper. The brakes and all the components are a major safety hazard as I'm always worrying if the brakes will function properly any give time I need to slow down. Also, the transmission shifts roughly and even downshifts without cause on occasion. It startles me when I'm driving and suddenly the transmission decides it wants to shift with a violent jolt as though briskly stepping on the brakes. I've had the transmission fluid changed twice in the last 2 years, which did not have any effect on the issue. Prior to each flush, the transmission has also developed a significant leak, which I led to the decision to flush the fluid and replace the pan and gasket. However, after doing so, the transmission continues downshifting and leaking. Once again, these issues have a significant impact on how safe I feel while driving my truck. I love my truck, but I hope my complaint helps Ford fix these little big issues and can develop a fix for future models.Read more

Unexpected down shift with acceleration usually between gear 3 and 4. Shifts hard like ive been hit. Very startling. Doesnt always happen. Usually on hotter days. No warning lamps. No crash occured. ... in December 2025, the same symptoms reoccurred, including unexpected downshifts, RPMs not matching vehicle speed, reduced acceleration, flashing or erratic gear indicators, wrench warning lights, and intermittent reduced-power or limp-mode operation. During the recurrence, the vehicle experienced loss of power at highway speeds, creating a safety risk during normal driving conditions and requiring me to quickly pull over. Although no collision occurred, the sudden loss of power at highway speed presented a safety concern for maintaining speed and safely interacting with traffic. Shutting off and restarting the vehicle typically clears the issue temporarily, but the problem may return unpredictably, sometimes within as little as 10 minutes or other times not reappearing for days or weeks. Prior to the most recent failure, intermittent symptoms occurred for several weeks, including occasional wrench warning lights and hesitation. The issue was previously confirmed by an independent transmission service center (AAMCO), which diagnosed and replaced the transmission lead frame. A Ford dealership inspected the vehicle but was unable to identify or resolve the issue. The vehicle remains in my possession and is available for inspection upon request.
