Leaving work remote start did not work as it normally did. Started with the key noticed the the red flashing lightning bolt. ... ere up and down on its own. Let it run foe 10 minutes shut it off started again same thing it took 1 hour before I got the light to turn off. I drove it home it ran funny like it didn't want to shift and at a stoplight with foot on the break the RPM s were still all over the place. And again the truck lurched like I was hit from behind. I made it home parked the truck called the dealership asked for a diagnostics to be done as I had an appointment for oil change and tire rotation scheduled. Service department sid there were active codes and ice buildup on the throttle body. They said there was not a fix for this and to make sure the truck gets up to temp to burn off the moisture. My drive to work is 30 minutes and I let the truck warmup t9 temp before I drive it Everytime. It has happened consistently causing me to be late for work this is a big PROBLEM and unexceptionable as it is unsafe to have a truck lurch forward on its own. Having a newer truck with 15000 miles and the best warranty availability I would think RAM would stand behind their product and make it safe and dependable. But I was told by the service department this is a known problem that RAM does not have a fix for. Trucks 2023 and older have a fix not the 2024 and newer. Being late for work because if this is not acceptable either when it takes an hour for the light to go off to be out of limp mode as well. December 16 January 12 and 13 January 30-31 Service department recommended putting heat in my garage or installing a block heater but wernt sure if either would fix the issue.Read more

While driving my truck roughly 60 mph, I experienced a sudden and uncommandded shift from 6th to 1st gear for roughly 3-5 seconds. When this occurred the engine RPMs jumped up to near Red Line and I experienced a rapid deceleration. I was driving on a dry road with new tires and did not experience any wheel lock up or skidding. However, this could have very easily posed an extreme safety hazard
... to both me and other drivers around me had I lost control of the vehicle which would have been highly likely in less optimal conditions. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer or independent service center and the components have not been inspected. While the downshift was occurring there were some lights that flashed on the dashboard. I believe it may have been a check engine light, but my focus was on maintaining control of the vehicle so I did not have time to focus on the lights. Once the engine shifted back to normal there were no remaining lights or cautions. The symptoms of this incident very closely match those discussed in the ongoing Investigation EA26001.Read more

In 2023, the vehicle began exhibiting erratic transmission shifting behavior, including harsh and unpredictable shifts while driving. The vehicle was taken to a GMC dealer for diagnosis and repair. Recently, the vehicle developed additional drivetrain and engine control issues related to the crankshaft position sensor circuit. The vehicle stalled while driving on a highway mountain overpass with
... multiple vehicles traveling behind me. When the stall occurred, the vehicle shifted into park and would not restart for several minutes. This created a hazardous situation due to loss of propulsion in active traffic at highway speed and limited shoulder space. Following diagnosis, the servicing dealer determined that the engine wiring harness requires full replacement due to internal wiring integrity issues affecting critical engine control signals. The crankshaft position sensor and related wiring are essential for engine timing and propulsion. Loss or corruption of this signal can result in reduced engine power, erratic transmission behavior, stalling, or no-start conditions. The earlier erratic shifting behavior appears consistent with conditions described in GM Technical Service Bulletin 21-NA-149, which identifies engine harness-related causes for drivetrain and shifting concerns. This issue appears to involve degradation or defect within the engine wiring harness affecting engine management and transmission operation. Given that this condition resulted in a highway stall and temporary inability to restart, I am reporting this for investigation as a potential safety-related defect involving loss of propulsion.Read more

VEHICLE: 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross L FWD MILEAGE: 40,000 miles DATE OF FAILURE: [Insert date] DEFECT DESCRIPTION: My vehicle's coolant bypass valve (part #16671-F2010) has failed, causing coolant leaks and triggering error codes. An independent shop diagnosed the issue as a defective coolant bypass valve before I took it to the Toyota dealership for confirmation. SAFETY CONCERN: This is a known
... defect affecting multiple Toyota models from 2019-2023. Coolant bypass valve failures can lead to engine overheating, potential engine damage, and loss of vehicle control if the engine fails while driving. This creates a serious safety hazard. MANUFACTURER RESPONSE: Toyota issued Customer Support Program 24TE04 covering this exact defect for 2020-2021 Corollas and certain RAV4 models. However, they arbitrarily excluded 2022-2023 Corolla Cross vehicles despite using THE IDENTICAL DEFECTIVE PART (F0010 coolant bypass valve) in all gas models through early 2024. Toyota dealership charged me $99 for a diagnostic to confirm what was already known. The repair quote was nearly $1,000. Toyota Corporate denied goodwill assistance, stating they only provide it to "loyal customers" who have spent significant money on servicing or own multiple Toyotas. CONSUMER IMPACT: This is the same defect that led to the class action lawsuit Barrientos v. Toyota. Toyota settled privately and created CSP 24TE04, but deliberately excluded newer model years with the same defective part. Consumers with 2022-2023 vehicles are forced to pay $900-1,300 out-of-pocket for a manufacturing defect that Toyota has already acknowledged in other model years. REQUESTED ACTION: I am requesting NHTSA investigate why Toyota's Customer Support Program excludes 2022-2023 model years when they contain the identical defective coolant bypass valve. Toyota should be required to extend CSP 24TE04 to cover ALL vehicles with part #16671-F2010 or F0010, regardless of model year.Read more

While driving at 10 mph on a residential street, I experienced a sudden and dangerous loss of power braking assistance, making the pedal nearly impossible to depress.
