During a red-light, as I was coming to a stop, the vehicle gave the warning saying “service power-steering now” and “traction control off.” I was unable to turn the steering wheel much due to it being so heavy. My official complaint: Vehicle: 2011 Ford Escape XLT Safety Recall: NHTSA Campaign Number 14V284000 (Ford Recall 14S05) Issue: Loss of Electric Power Steering Assist (EPS) / Stee
... ring Torque Sensor Fault I am submitting this complaint regarding an unresolved safety defect involving my 2011 Ford Escape XLT. This vehicle is subject to a federally recognized safety recall for loss of electric power steering assist: NHTSA Campaign Number 14V284000, Ford Recall 14S05, which involves the electric power steering (EPS) system and steering torque sensor faults that can cause the vehicle to suddenly lose steering assist. The safety issue covered under this recall is still present and represents an ongoing risk. The vehicle experiences a loss of power steering assist, which makes the steering wheel extremely difficult to turn and increases the risk of a crash, especially at lower speeds, in traffic, or during turns. On February 13, 2026, I had a scheduled appointment at Kingman Ford (Arizona) at 3:00 PM specifically to address this safety recall issue and the continuing steering assist problem. Kingman Ford declined service and refused to perform any recall-related repair, stating they could not provide service related to the recall. After the dealership refusal, I contacted Ford Corporate Customer Service directly. Ford Corporate also declined to provide any repair assistance, and stated they had no knowledge of any federal directives or requirements regarding safety issues connected to this recall. Because this is a federally recognized safety recall and the defect continues to occur, I am requesting that NHTSA document this as a recall remedy failure / unresolved safety defect, and review Ford’s refusal (and the dealership’s refusal) to correct a known steerinRead more

The bolt related to this recall inevitably broke on 11/23/25 at 43,842 miles. Ford of Upland took my truck and provided me with a loaner vehicle for about a month and a half, until demanding that I return the loaner vehicle. I had no choice but to take my truck back as I do not have a second vehicle, and they didn’t offer me a solution. At the time of writing this, I have put ~800 miles on the t

Ford Customer Service told me over the phone that they are “hoping” to have the parts to fix my truck in Q3 of this year (2026). I purchased this truck as it fit my everyday needs. I often tow which made this truck a good candidate. As I understand, the truck is not currently safe to drive, and definitely not capable of towing. Not having a capable truck is unacceptable. It seems that Ford is incapable of providing a reasonable solution. The truck has been “out of service” since 11/23/25, nearly 3 months at the time of writing this.Read more

I still have some proof that the 8 recalls pertain to my car and needs to be repaired.the dealership had me to bring my car in due to the recalls but because it had a motor failure now they're saying it's my fault for going over the approximate mileage of getting an oil change which is not true. The recalls were due way before my time and should have been taken care of before the car was sold to me. I purchased the car in March of 2025 and the car just failed on me in November of 2025. Within that time frame of me purchasing the car, I took good care of the car getting and oil change as well. Providing all oils where needed replacing tires that were needed, keeping gas tank clean. Changing air filters, and just keeping up with the maintenance. The car had no accidents no losses perfectly good car other than the recalls that were pointed out. When I brought the car in they told me everything was fine and that they would take care of those for me. My car has been there for like three weeks now and now they're telling me that the car is showing that the car was driven 11 thousand miles before it had an oil change. I have no idea of who drove the car before I purchased it and that I can only provide them with documents of what I took care of within the time frame I drove it up until the day it just stopped on me while I was driving. I really need my car and they is holding my car doing nothing to it all this time just to tell me that it's up to the manufacturer and sending him my documents for them to decide wether they will approve the repairs or not.Read more

A failing alternator caused me to take my kia into a mechanic for OEM replacement. The mechanic informed me that the engine rattles. I got to talking with the mechanic and told him that my car has been experiencing high oil consumption with no 'low oil' warning light on the dash and ive checked my oil periodically between changes and have found the dip stick bone dry multiple times. A year later,
... my alternator failed AGAIN and was replaced with another OEM part. The same mechanic told me that the engine is still rattling (i hadnt gotten it fixed/diagnosed because i am low income) and that he found out there had been a recall for Kia Sotento engines with my vehicle date range. Upon research, I find thousands of people on different platforms are also experiencing high oil consumption and there was actually a recall. When I checked my VIN, my vehicle was NOT part of the recall. There seems to be a high number of consumers who have the SAME issue, but are also NOT included in the original recall and we are all being told that unless we pay for a new engine out of pocket, there's NOTHING that can be done. High oil consumption with NO warning light is DANGEROUS. How is it possible that only HALF of the vehicles with the SAME defect are eligible for a recall/repair and the rest of us are S.O.L? I am the second owner of this vehicle and purchased from a used lot, however Kia knew about this defect before I purchased the vehicle from the used lot. The used car dealership no longer exists so I can't even ask them if Kia made them aware (which they potentially did not since my VIN isn't considered eligible anyways) This issue needs to be rectified for the thousands of consumers/customers that are experiencing this problem and I strongly suggest a new investigation be conducted for the remaining vehicles that were manufactured in the same time frame as the vehicles that ARE covered. My vehicle has only 90K miles on it!Read more

A torn CV boot can lead to CV joint wear, loss of power, or loss of vehicle control if it progresses. The vehicle has experienced repeated incidents of sudden reduced engine power and loss of acceleration while driving. On multiple occasions, while traveling at highway speeds, the vehicle failed to respond normally to throttle input and would not accelerate as commanded and loss of power steering making it difficult to turn the steering wheel and apply brakes. One incident resulted in throwing my
... truck off the road and luckily we nearly avoided a multi car collision and potential pile with my wife, 8yr old daughter and newborn son in the vehicle at high speeds up to 60/70+ mph but despite avoiding a major life threatening accident to us and other drivers, resulted in striking objects, glass and debris on the side of the road causing damage to my vehicle and then sliding to a complete stop in the ditch off the highway. This creates a hazardous driving situation, particularly when merging into traffic or attempting to maintain speed with surrounding vehicles, increasing the risk of collision. The malfunction appears related to the engine, electrical system, and powertrain. During at least one dealership visit, the reduced power condition was recreated and confirmed by service personnel. However, despite multiple warranty repair attempts, the issue continues to reoccur intermittently. Warning messages have appeared at times, including reduced engine power notifications and check engine indicators, though the condition has also occurred without advance warning. The intermittent nature of the defect makes it unpredictable and unsafe. The vehicle has been out of service for more than 30 cumulative days for warranty-related defect repairs related to this and other electrical issues. Multiple repair attempts have not permanently corrected the condition. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. Due to the unpredictable loss of acceleration and prior safety incidents, there are ongoing concerns regarding safe operation of the vehicle.Read more

Vehicle: 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid Mileage at first failure: ~6,000 miles Component: Front CV boot / axle assembly — loss of grease Safety Concern: Early-life component failure with unresolved uncertainty in root cause Description: At approximately 6,000 miles, the left front CV boot of my vehicle was found leaking grease. The dealership initially stated the failure was due to “external impact,
... ” but no conclusive evidence was presented to support this determination. The photos and inspection notes did not identify a clear puncture or specific point of impact. Mazda Corporate later informed me that their engineering team concluded the issue was not related to a material or manufacturing defect, and offered a goodwill repair. However, the underlying root cause remains uncertain due to the lack of definitive evidence. Safety relevance: A CV boot failure at such low mileage is extremely unusual for a modern vehicle, and premature loss of grease from the CV joint can lead to: joint degradation, reduced steering stability, potential loss of vehicle control. If similar early-life failures occur on additional Mazda vehicles, this may indicate a broader design, material, or assembly concern. I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring transmission issue in my vehicle. The transmission consistently jerks and shifts erratically, particularly in the morning during initial operation when at cruising speeds of about 50-75 mph. This behavior occurs when the transmission temperature is below approximately 100°F and happens on a daily basis. The gear changes feel harsh and abrupt,
... kind of like it doesn’t know what gear to be in its raising concerns about both drivability and long-term transmission reliability. I brought the vehicle to an authorized dealership for inspection. After evaluating the issue, the dealer informed me that the behavior was due to the vehicle being in “Sport Mode.” However, this explanation does not resolve the concern, as the severity and consistency of the jerking appear abnormal and occur regularly under the same temperature conditions. Given the persistent nature of this problem and its potential safety implications — especially during acceleration and low-speed driving — I am requesting that this issue be formally documented and investigated. Thank you for your attention to this matter.Read more

The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of motive power and became inoperable due to failure of the high-pressure fuel system. This VIN is subject to an active safety recall (NHTSA 24V957 / Ford 24S78) addressing high-pressure fuel pump failure that can result in loss of motive power while driving. Prior to failure, the vehicle exhibited reduced engine performance and drivability issues consistent
... with fuel system malfunction. No Water-In-Fuel warning or alert was displayed prior to the failure. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Ford dealership. Ford and the dealership asserted “fuel contamination” as the cause and refused to repair the vehicle under the recall or warranty unless the customer paid for diagnostic teardown. The recall repair was not performed. The vehicle remains unrepaired and was removed from the dealership. The loss of motive power created a safety risk to the occupants and other motorists. We are concerned that a recalled safety defect affecting the fuel system is not being remedied and is being mischaracterized to avoid recall repair.Read more

I keep loosing power and get the message "Engine Power Reduced" and the car stops while driving down the road, sometimes it just stutters and won't maintain speed without the warning. I've had 2 shops check it out and can't find anything wrong. This vehicle has had all required maintenance done by the dealer since it was new.

1. The vehicle's transmission does not operate consistently and safely. 2. At times, the transmission will not engage, and this has placed my family in very dangerous situations when changing lanes. 3. At red lights, at times, the transmission will not engage to drive. 4. When slowing in traffic at times , the transmission will not adjust to the slower speed, although the operator is applying th
