Jeep continues to apply bandaids to the high voltage battery system. The latest recall, 68c, is another software fix that doesnt address the root cause, high voltage battery. after the recall, the car drives horrible when in electric mode - engine kicks on all the time, loss of power until you stomp on the accelerator (which then kicks on engine). NHTSA needs to hold Jeep Stellantis accountable fo
... r selling an inferior product and take care of the customers who have supported them for the past 5 years until they stopped selling them! there are 320,000 jeeps impacted, lets fix this!!! I will be scheduling service soon, but you cant expect customers to stop our lives to live at the service center. Jeep really needs to start offering a large scale buyback OR fix the issue which would be to replace the battery with new improved updated one that doesnt become a fire risk every year! Thats where the NHTSA should come in to play - which is "dedicated to saving lives, preventing injuries, and reducing economic costs associated with motor vehicle crashes. It achieves this by setting safety standards, investigating defects, issuing recalls"Read more

The power train of my 2025 Model S failed similar to failure of 7-6-25 which I previously reported to NHTSA (complaint #11718413) and Tesla. Upon getting into my car on 2-7-26 and putting it in reverse, several alert messages displayed including "stability control disabled, traction control disabled, and emergency braking unavailable". I drove 1/4 mile to a safe area to call Tesla roadside assis
... t, since my steering was noticeably degraded in real time and the car was not safe to drive. The car was towed to the nearest Tesla service center. Tesla made statements on their service report attached here, that this is a "known characteristic of the vehicle" and that if it happens again I should, "exit the car, let the car go to sleep and then once the vehicle is awakened the alert will not be present and it will operate normally". That is not a valid solution, and even though they told me they found nothing wrong when they looked at the car two days later on 2-9-26, I had walked away from the car for more than an hour on 2-7-26 when this happened and the alerts were still there. The tow truck driver who arrived three hours later also saw them and noticed the degraded steering when he drove it. Tesla's solution stated on their service report is not valid or safe. This issue has happened twice in seven months on this car of mine and it needs serious engineering attention.Read more

The power train of my 2025 Tesla Model S failed. As a result, the car had several systems alert on my console that they were "unavailable" or "degraded", and in addition to the alerts I experienced their loss or degradation in real time. This included braking, steering, stability control, and traction control. Normally you don't have to hold the brake pedal down at a stop light on this electric
... vehicle, but when the failure occurred my car was rolling backwards at the stop light and so I had to hold down the brake. Also, steering was noticeably degraded and not stable. The car was also exhibiting behavior similar to a stuck accelerator whereby even with my foot off the accelerator the car would not slow up. Tesla had to tow my car to their nearest Tesla service center, and they replaced the front body controller and the battery controller which took three days. There were no warnings whatsoever or anything relating to the power train that were peculiar prior to this incident. It occurred all of a sudden after getting into my car and putting it in reverse to back out of a parking spot. I was then bombarded with several alert messages as mentioned above and drove only about half a mile until I pulled into a parking lot and called Tesla for roadside assistance as the car was obviously not safe to drive.Read more

SUBJECT: Engine → Stall → Loss of power while driving: While driving normally, the vehicle began losing power and could not accelerate properly. The engine warning light illuminated and the vehicle repeatedly entered a reduced-power condition where it could barely maintain speed. The vehicle would stall while driving and then restart after sitting. This occurred multiple times over a period o
... f time and progressively worsened. The engine also began consuming large amounts of oil between oil changes. Eventually the engine suffered catastrophic failure and would no longer run. A dealership later stated internal engine damage was present, including a failed valve and spark plug damage. The vehicle is currently at a dealership and available for inspection. The loss of power and stalling created a safety hazard because the vehicle could not maintain normal traffic speed and could have been struck by other vehicles. The problem was confirmed by a dealership service department. Warning lights were present prior to final failure and appeared during the loss of power events.Read more

Complete transmission failure while driving approximately 60 MPH. Transmission started shifting irregularly while driving at a steady speed on a 55 MPH paved county road and locked into 3rd gear slowing me down quite suddenly. The vehicle has 111,000 miles on it and has been used to tow loads rarely, and the loads were far below the 5000 lb rating of the vehicle. Because it is well past the 75,000 mile power-train warranty (I bought it used) I am having to pay nearly $9,000 for a remanufactured transmission replacement at my local dealership. File against: Ford Motor Company Vehicle: 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E VIN: [XXX] Safety Complaint While driving, the vehicle unexpectedly slowed down, lost power, and became inoperable, creating a serious safety hazard. I was able to pull over safely, but the sudden loss of motive power occurred during active roadway conditions. Dealer diagnosis identified a wiring harness connector failure affec
... ting communication between vehicle control modules. After the repair, the same issue reoccurred within one to two days, again causing loss of power. The vehicle is currently back at the dealership, and the underlying defect has not yet been permanently resolved. This recurring electrical failure represents a loss-of-motive-power safety risk that may indicate a broader wiring harness defect affecting vehicle reliability and safety. I am reporting a premature failure of two critical engine components: the Heat Management Module (Coolant Pump/Thermostat assembly) and the Oil Filter Housing. Despite the vehicle's low mileage (40,000 miles), the Heat Management Module began leaking coolant, posing a significant risk of engine overheating and sudden loss of power while driving. Simultaneously, the Oil Filter Housing has developed
... a leak, allowing oil to seep onto the engine block and potentially onto the serpentine belt. Both failures represent a safety hazard: Coolant Leak: Risk of thermal engine damage and being stranded in traffic due to overheating. Oil Leak: Risk of oil contacting hot exhaust components (fire hazard) or causing the serpentine belt to slip/fail, resulting in a sudden loss of power steering and charging systems. These components appear to have failed due to manufacturing or material defects rather than standard wear and tear for a vehicle of this age and mileageRead more

The hybrid propulsion system in my 2023 Jeep Wrangler 4xe intermittently malfunctions while driving. The “D” (Drive) indicator on the gear selector begins flashing, and the engine RPMs suddenly decrease without warning. During these events, the vehicle loses propulsion power and responsiveness. After several seconds, the vehicle may return to normal operation. This failure affects the hybrid p
... owertrain and transmission system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This condition creates a serious safety risk because the sudden loss of propulsion reduces the vehicle’s ability to accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. This is especially dangerous when merging, crossing intersections, or driving at highway speeds, as it increases the risk of collision due to loss of power and reduced vehicle control. The vehicle has been evaluated by a Jeep dealership service department. The dealership has not provided a permanent repair, and the manufacturer recall affecting the hybrid system remains open and unresolved. The recall repair has not been performed, and the hybrid malfunction continues to occur. The vehicle has been inspected by dealership personnel, but the issue remains unresolved. The dealership indicated that replacing the 12-volt battery may help, but no definitive root cause has been identified, and the hybrid system malfunction continues. There were no battery warning lights prior to or during the failure. The primary symptom is the flashing “D” indicator and sudden decrease in RPMs, followed by temporary recovery. This indicates a malfunction of the hybrid propulsion system. This unresolved hybrid system failure presents an ongoing safety hazard and loss of propulsion while driving.Read more

I own a 2020 Ford Explorer with approximately 85,776 miles. The vehicle has experienced two separate loss-of-propulsion events in traffic. On both occasions, the vehicle suddenly lost power while driving and stalled in the middle of a busy intersection. There was no prior warning of imminent engine failure. After stalling, the vehicle would crank but would not restart. The vehicle was disabled in
... the intersection for approximately 45 minutes to one hour each time. My family was inside the vehicle during these incidents. The vehicle displayed multiple malfunction warnings including “Shift System Fault” and messages indicating the vehicle was not in Park even when the shifter was in the Park position. The dealership, Hansel Ford of Petaluma, verified the concern and referenced Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-2249 related to internal transmission components, including the valve body and park pawl actuator system. The dealership confirmed that when the vehicle is placed in Park, it may actually remain in Neutral. This creates an additional safety risk of unintended vehicle movement. This issue presents a serious safety hazard due to: •Sudden loss of propulsion in traffic •Vehicle disabled in active intersections •Extended inability to restart •Potential rollaway risk due to Park malfunction The vehicle is currently pending major transmission-related repairs. I am submitting this complaint due to concerns about loss of propulsion and park system malfunction creating a safety risk for occupants and surrounding traffic.Read more

It should be noted, recall 23S65 has already been done prior to this incident. On 12/27/2025, while driving northbound on I65, south of Louisville KY, I lost the rear differential. I was able to get the truck off the highway by putting it in 4wd and use the front wheels to drive. I do not remember any warning lamps during this incident. I found a dealer that was close by (Town and Country Ford Louisville) and parked the truck. A week later the dealer confirmed the axles shafts had broken and would need replaced. These are the same axles that were replaced in accordance with the recall. Regenerative Braking: The regeneration system is not functioning properly, failing to recoup energy as designed. Infotainment & Safety: I have experienced consistent Bluetooth disconnections, audio drops during calls, map freezing, and—most concerning—the screen blacking out and resetting while the vehicle is in motion. Social Media Documentation & Peer Reports: Due to the persistent nature of these issues, I have documented my experience on the official "Toyota bZ (2026)" Facebook owner groups. Dear National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, I am submitting this complaint to formally report a serious safety issue involving the left front axle of my Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid XLE. The vehicle was first diagnosed by my local Toyota dealer on January 14, 2026, at which time the left front axle issue was identified. I contacted **Toyota Motor Corporation**, and I was initially inf
... ormed that the required replacement part would arrive on February 6, 2026. After that date passed, I was told the part would arrive in early March. I have now been told it will not arrive until late March. Based on these repeated delays, I am concerned that “late March” could easily become late April or even later, with no firm commitment or guaranteed repair date. I have contacted Toyota dealership multiple times and made several phone calls seeking assistance, updates, or a definitive timeline. Unfortunately, no one has been able to provide a clear solution, firm delivery date, or alternative support while the part remains on back order. Due to the axle issue, I do not feel safe operating the vehicle, as I believe it presents a significant safety risk. This vehicle is essential for my work and daily financial responsibilities. Because I do not feel it is safe to drive, I am unable to use the car to earn my day-to-day income and meet my financial obligations. As a result, I am currently losing wages, and the prolonged delay is causing financial hardship and significant inconvenience. Given the safety implications and the ongoing lack of resolution, I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter. I would appreciate guidance on the appropriate next steps, including whether this issue warrants further investigation, inspection, or potential recall action. I also seek clarification regarding what protections or remedies may be available to consumers when critical safety components are unavailable for extended periods.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding a serious transmission defect in my vehicle. The drive and reverse gears are not functioning properly. Similarly, when the vehicle is parked facing downhill and I shift into drive to move forward, it rol

Due to this defect, I have nearly collided with objects multiple times within just 15 days of ownership. Most concerning, I almost hit another vehicle behind me while attempting to drive forward, as my vehicle suddenly rolled backward unexpectedly. This creates a serious safety hazard for me, my passengers, and other drivers. I purchased this used vehicle with less than 10,000 miles from EchoPark dealership.
