This vehicle is subject to two open safety recalls for which no repair remedy is currently available from the manufacturer: 1. Recall 24V957 (24S78) Dec 20, 2024 involves the high-pressure fuel pump and powertrain control system. The recall states the fuel pump may fail and cause extended cranking/no start or loss of motive power while driving. Loss of motive power while in traffic or while towing
... increases the risk of a crash. The manufacturer has stated that parts and/or software are not available to repair this defect. The vehicle is regularly used for towing a recreational trailer, which increases the safety risk if loss of power occurs during operation, especially at highway speeds or while merging. 2. Recall 25V686 (25SA8) Oct 10, 2025 involves the 360-degree/rear-view camera system. The recall states that the rear camera image may become dark in certain reversing situations when front and side cameras are exposed to significantly more light than the rear camera. Reduced visibility while reversing increases crash risk, particularly when maneuvering a large pickup truck. The manufacturer has acknowledged both recalls but has not provided a repair remedy within a reasonable timeframe. The powertrain-related recall has remained unresolved for an extended period. The vehicle has not been repaired because the manufacturer states parts/software are unavailable. At this time, the defect conditions have not resulted in a confirmed failure event, but the vehicle continues to be operated with open safety recalls that cannot be remedied. The safety risk remains present due to lack of available repair. Due to the prolonged unavailability of a repair remedy for a recall involving potential loss of motive power, I am unable to safely use the vehicle for its intended purpose of towing, as doing so would increase the risk of a crash if the defect occurs.Read more

Our 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L was our primary family vehicle. We conducted all routine maintenance as required by Honda, including transmission fluid exchange. Our vehicle experienced rough shifting consistently and at 102,000 miles experienced a total failure in the transmission dog clutch, with Emissions lighting also being present. Vehicle required a tow to Honda and was cited" internal failure i

The confirmed related DTC's are P0841: Transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch A circuit range/performance; P0844: Dog Clutch malfunction; P0170A: Dog Clutch Abnormal operation. Parts $:5,736.73/Labor $2,385 plus fluids and freight. We were not aware Honda used the ZF transmission during this year model and experiencing rough shifting up to 102,000 miles which prompted our investigation. Thankfully, the car was parked however, had this been while on the road, this would have presented a major safety and risk to our family and others. This has set our family back quite a bit as we have to replace the transmission and cannot guarantee the new one won't provide similar issues. Honda denied our good-will assistance request. We bought a Honda under the assumption it was a reliable brand. We will never buy Honda nor recommend again. Terrible experience.Read more

While traveling at highway speed on the interstate in my 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD (approx. 120,000 miles), the vehicle experienced a sudden hard jolt followed by a momentary rear wheel lockup. This occurred without warning. Immediately after, the transmission defaulted into a fail-safe condition and became locked in 4th gear. The vehicle would move but could not shift properly, resulting i
... n abnormally high RPM and engine load at highway speeds. I was forced to continue driving several miles in this condition to reach a safe exit. The unexpected drivetrain behavior and temporary wheel lockup created a serious safety risk, including potential loss of control and risk of collision. The dealership identified transmission diagnostic trouble codes P2715 and P2733 (pressure control solenoid performance). Transmission fluid was found to be burnt and contaminated with metal debris. The vehicle is subject to GM Special Coverage N242454441 for a known control valve body defect that can cause harsh shifting and reduced engine power. Although code P0747 (referenced in the bulletin) was not present, the failure involved transmission hydraulic pressure control. The dealership is replacing the valve body under the special coverage but is not addressing the internal transmission damage, stating they cannot determine whether the damage resulted from the covered defect. The sudden rear wheel lockup and transmission fail-safe condition at highway speed present a significant safety concern involving unintended drivetrain behavior.Read more

While driving at approximately 70 mph on an interstate highway, the vehicle intermittently loses propulsion during acceleration. Engine power drops suddenly and the vehicle coasts for several seconds before power returns. This has occurred multiple times and creates an immediate safety hazard due to sudden loss of speed in active traffic lanes. The engine also produces a loud rattle at cold start
... . These symptoms began at approximately 70,000 miles and progressively worsened. A Ford dealership later diagnosed cam phaser failure at 88,938 miles. The loss of propulsion occurs without warning lights or driver alerts. Sudden reduction in engine power at highway speeds increases the risk of rear-end collision or loss of vehicle control. This condition presents a significant safety concern.Read more

Internal oil consumption. With no oil puddled or spattered under the vehicle at time of purchase from a dealership or since then, a dealer certified vehicle with AFM at 153 miles from leaving the dealer the oil was non-existant on the dipstick. This directly indicates a TSB, Techical Service Bulletin involving the cause of failed lifters causing internal oil consumption and damage to lifters, cam
... shaft, push rods, rings and possibly more. This is a common result of the Active Fuel Management system which shuts off some of the cylinders for fuel economy for Chevrolet V6 and V8 engines. The problem was reported to the dealer by me imediately after the oil check at 153 miles and then towed to the dealer. As this is considered a catastrophic amount of oil loss, the vehicle could've been rendered inoperatable during operation in traffic and been a servere safty hazard. The dealer after initial inspection sent me a message that they think the problem is an undetectable small leak so they put some dye in the oil to check it. Which evades the actual internal consumption problem of 1.5 to 2 or more quarts of oil lost in just 153 miles by that ratio that would amount to 13 quarts per 1,000 miles. And helps them stall for time, to try to run out the very short 3 month/3000 mile drivetrain warranty. There was noticable erratic engine performance and some shudder but that shudder may have come from the transmission. The odometer read was 115690 at purchase and 115843 when towed=153 miles driven from when the certified inspection was performed for a loss of 1.5 to 2 quarts that I know of, it could have been much more oil missing. A suddenly inoperatable vehicle in town at intersections or on the highway at high speeds could be deadly for myself or others in traffic. I took and have videos of checking the dipstick to show it dry but it's an mp4 file which I don't see a place to upload it here. Available upon request.Read more

Current mileage: 55,000 miles, and the warranty expired at 50,000 miles. Shortly after the expiration, a bunch of warning alerts started to pop up, along with a solid yellow check engine light. I had the error codes read, and it came back as, “P2402 SAE: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit: High." In order for any work to be performed, VW demands a $212 diagnostic fee in order to eve
... n determine what is wrong with the vehicle. If the EVAP pump is found to be bad as the code suggests, it would cost anywhere between $700-900 to fix. So, I took to Google to figure out what is going on. There are pages and pages of documentation from other VW drivers who have the exact same issue. So, why has it not been listed as a safety recall yet? That's what I want to know. Many VW drivers reported that they were given a warranty extension for this KNOWN issue, so I thought...that's all it would take for me to be happy. So, I called the same dealership back and was told that my vehicle is ineligible for the warranty extension even though I am experiencing the exact same issue of the people who were given the warranty extension. Many other VW customers have reported this known issue as well because VW is aware of the issue but is not doing anything about it. As far as I know, the car runs fine, but the alerts and check engine light are there every time I start up the car and never go away. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others is put at risk every time I drive. When I get into my car, several alerts go off. Very distracting and dangerous. When I go to back out of my driveway, the backup camera works for a few seconds and then blacks out and goes back to the main screen and starts beeping new alerts. Very dangerous. As I am driving, all of the alerts are going off again, thus distracting me behind the wheel. On a very cold day in January I left work to head home in 4-high. Just before I got on the highway, the truck did a hard shift from 1st to 2nd and I felt kind of a clunk. Truck immediately threw a check engine light and went into limp mode (didn't seem to shift at all). Pulled into a parking lot and tried to go in reverse, but truck would not go into reverse. Truck was towed to local dealership wh
... ere they diagnosed it with a failed valve body on the transmission. Dealership told me the valve body was on back order so I then towed the truck to a local transmission shop who changed out the valve body. Transmission had no issues before this. The morning this happened it was very cold (below zero) and I got a message in the truck that said, "heater performance mode active". Thought that was weird, but dealer did not seem to think it had anything to do with the failure.Read more

One night shortly after starting the car, I went to put the car in first gear amd as I let out the clutch, but pedal stayed flat to the floor. I was able to lift the pedal with my foot and drive the car back to safety. The next day, I drove the car to the nearest shop before anything catastrophic happens. This time, right in the shop parking lot, I lost all hydraulic pressure in the clutch and I
... could not take the car out of gear. I had to turn off the car to prevent it from stalling as the clutch slowly engaged without my doing. I had the car inspected by two repair shops—one quote at $3900, the other at $6600. The issue is a failed seal on the clutch slave cylinder, located inside the transmission. The seal is much too thin from factory to withstand normal use. There are no recalls for this issue, and MANY affected owners. This is a safety issue because the failure can be almost immediate and will leave the driver unable to take the car out of gear, leading to out of control driving.Read more
