The power liftgate on my 2024 Toyota Sequoia intermittently fails to close using the automatic function. When pressing the close button (either on the liftgate or key fob), the system beeps twice and does not initiate closing, requiring manual force to shut the liftgate. Additionally, the pinch sensor appears to malfunction, falsely detecting an obstruction when none is present. This creates an i
... nconsistent and unreliable operation of the liftgate system. This issue presents a safety concern because the liftgate may not properly secure while driving, increasing the risk of it opening unexpectedly. Furthermore, the failure of the pinch sensor system raises concerns about potential injury, especially to children or passengers, if the sensor does not function correctly during operation. The issue occurs intermittently and has been difficult for the dealership to permanently resolve. This appears to be a broader defect rather than a one-time failure.Read more

On March 4, 2026, at approximately 7:30 AM EST, while driving my 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited on [XXX] , the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of propulsion while traveling at approximately 70 mph (posted speed limit). The vehicle would not accelerate or maintain speed and would not move forward when placed in drive, indicating a failure within the powertrain/transmission system. The vehicle is c
... urrently located at a Hyundai dealership and is available for inspection upon request. This incident created a significant safety risk, as I was traveling at highway speed in active traffic when the vehicle unexpectedly lost the ability to move under its own power. This placed me at risk of being rear-ended and made it difficult to safely maneuver out of traffic. The vehicle was inspected by a Hyundai dealership. Diagnostic trouble code P284001 (Shift Fork “D” Position) was identified, and I was informed the failure is transmission-related. The condition was reproduced by placing the vehicle in drive, at which point the vehicle would not move. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership. The manufacturer has been notified but has not physically inspected the vehicle. No police or insurance inspection was involved. There were no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms before the failure. The issue occurred suddenly without any indication of a problem. My 2023 Kia Telluride SX Prestige X-Pro is experiencing multiple powertrain and safety defects beginning at approximately 48,000 miles. The vehicle is well maintained per the manufacturer schedule. ISSUE 1 - TRANSMISSION SHUDDER: The vehicle has a pronounced shudder and stuttering through the drivetrain during normal driving, especially under acceleration and load. This began at approximately 48,0
... 00 miles and has progressively worsened. Symptoms are consistent with torque converter clutch failure documented under Kia TSB 089 (DTC P0741) and Service Action SA490. ISSUE 2 - INTERMITTENT LIMP MODE (SAFETY HAZARD): On multiple occasions the vehicle enters limp mode without any warning while being driven on public roads. When this occurs the accelerator becomes unresponsive beyond approximately 30 mph. The vehicle cannot accelerate regardless of throttle input. The only way to restore normal operation is to pull over, shut the engine off, and restart. This creates an extremely dangerous condition on highways, during merging, and in heavy traffic. My wife is the primary driver and no longer feels safe operating the vehicle. ISSUE 3 - INSTRUMENT PANEL BLACKOUT: The instrument cluster intermittently goes completely dark while driving, leaving the driver with no access to speed, fuel level, warning indicators, or turn signals. This vehicle also has multiple open safety recalls including SC296 (engine valve springs/fire risk), SC303 (intermediate shaft/loss of drive), SC316 (power seat motor/fire risk), and SC347 (door trim delamination). A recent emissions recall was also received. Problems first reported at approximately 48,000 miles. Current mileage is 86,793. A case is being opened with Kia Consumer Assistance and warranty service has been requested at the purchasing dealer. The vehicle is within the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.Read more

The 8-speed automatic transmission (Hydra-Matic 8L90) on this 2017 GMC Yukon SLT 5.3L V8 has failed. This is a repeat failure — the transmission was previously rebuilt in 2020 under a GM recall/service action for the same known defect affecting this transmission type. The transmission has now failed again in 2026, approximately six years after GM's prior repair. Prior to failure, the vehicle exh
... ibited hard shifting, shuddering during acceleration, and hesitation between gear changes — symptoms consistent with the known defect pattern documented across 2015–2019 GM vehicles equipped with this transmission. The failure was confirmed by a service center. The vehicle is currently not safely drivable. Safety concern: erratic and unpredictable gear changes, including sudden lurching and hesitation during acceleration, create a dangerous condition for the driver, passengers, and other vehicles on the road. GM has been contacted through their Customer Assistance Center (case opened). GM's initial position was that they cannot assist because the vehicle is out of warranty. However, this is a repeat failure of a previously repaired known defect. GM issued 13+ technical service bulletins on this transmission and has been aware of the root defect since at least 2018. A federal class action (Speerly v. General Motors, E.D. Michigan) covering this exact vehicle type and transmission has been certified and upheld by the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The prior GM repair did not remediate the underlying defect.Read more

The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power steering while in operation, creating a safety concern due to reduced ability to control the vehicle. At the time of failure, multiple electrical and control module faults were present. The vehicle was inspected by a dealership, which diagnosed the issue as requiring rack and pinion replacement. The owner paid out of pocket for this repair. Dealershi
... p documentation shows the steering failure occurred alongside multiple electrical system faults. During the same service period, the dealership also performed multiple safety recall repairs, including control module and software updates. These systems are integrated, and the steering failure occurred in conjunction with electrical and control module issues later addressed under recall. This raises concern that the original failure may be related to defects now identified under active safety recalls. The owner incurred significant repair costs prior to recall correction. This situation presents a potential safety related defect involving steering and electrical system interaction.Read more

The vehicle (2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid) has suffered from a systemic parasitic 12V battery drain since the first month of ownership. The first occurrence was July 20, 2025, requiring a jump-start from Kia Roadside Assistance. On 02/26/2026, the vehicle was presented at Moritz Kia Alliance for the same issue. The dealer diagnosed the 12V battery as defective (Code R04) and replaced it under warrant
... y. However, the defect persisted. On 03/10/2026, only 12 days later, the vehicle suffered another total electrical failure. I had to utilize Kia Roadside Assistance for a jump-start and drive the vehicle directly to the dealer without turning the engine off to ensure it could be serviced. This marked the second official repair attempt for this recurring defect. The vehicle has remained in dealer possession since March 10 (21 consecutive days). On March 11, only one day after drop-off, the Service Director threatened that the vehicle would be "impounded" after 60 days, despite the vehicle being the subject of an active Texas DMV Lemon Law Case (#26-0012638.CAF). On March 26, a critical safety failure occurred: during a start-up attempt, the Integrated Power Brake (IPB) system malfunctioned, causing the brake pedal to pulsate and physically "kick back" with significant force against my foot. I have serious concerns that this braking failure could occur while in motion, posing an unreasonable risk of high-speed collision, serious injury, or death. No root-cause diagnosis has been made. Furthermore, the main fuse box cover was left off during service, exposing critical electrical components. The vehicle is available for inspection.Read more

The engine of vehicle repeatedly failed, causing the vehicle to stall while driving, which posed a serious risk to my safety and others on the road. The vehicle had approximately 65,000 miles and was maintained routinely and on schedule. The failure first occurred before November 18, 2025, when I reported stalling issues to Kia authorized service & parts. The vehicle was returned as “fixed” on
... December 12, 2025, but the engine stalled again during normal operation. The vehicle was returned to Kia authorized service & parts multiple times (December 12, December 18, December 23, January 9, January 12, 2026, and March 4, 2026), with repeated assurances that it had been repaired. Each time, the car continued to stall, including during a test drive at Subaru, demonstrating that the failure persisted despite repeated dealer intervention. The stalling created a significant hazard, as the car could lose power while on public roads, including highways, potentially leading to accidents. There were no consistent warning lights or messages prior to the engine stalling; the first symptom was intermittent loss of power while driving. The failure has been reproduced and observed by multiple service personnel at Kia authorized service & parts and by Subaru during the trade-in test drive. The component(s) causing the failure were inspected by Kia authorized service & parts staff, but no effective repair was made. On two separate occasions, my 2023 Nissan Rogue has experienced major loss of power while driving 80 mph. The first time, all of the dash lights were blinking and there was an awful noise coming from the engine. I could not drive over 10 mph. The vehicle had to be towed 200 miles to the nearest Nissan dealer in Billings, MT. They cleared the codes, test drove it and said everything was fine. The s
... econd time my vehicle had to be towed. 115 miles from the nearest Nissan dealer. Same issues, except this time there were no dash lights. Prior to all of this happening, my car had an open recall for the 1.5L VC-Turbo engine that my car has. Since the first time this occurred and Nissan "fixed" the problem, there has been no open recall. With the second occurance, Nissan had to replace the Throttle Actuator and Gaskets according to the invoice. Luckily, I had purchased my own extended warranty and that warranty covered $1,104.20 of the $1,204.20 (I paid $100 co-pay). I was charged $715 for towing from Nissan Roadside Assistance. The invoice claims the Nissan found the following diagnostic results: DTC P0507-00 Wwhich is directly linked to a fractured internal gear in the Electric Throttle Control Actuator, the subject of NHTSA Recall 26V081 and DTC P0196 which is directly linked to engine oil temperature performance, the precursor to engine bearing seizures addressed in NHTSA Recall 26V080. Nissan is currently excluding many 2023 models from the "official" recall list. My car has 67,350 miles on it, but this failure should be covered by Nissan's 10-year/120,000-mile extended powertrain warranty. The parts replaced (throttle actuator and gaskets) and the diagnostic codes are identical to those in the 2026 expanded recall populations. Denying coverage based on an "open recall" statis is a violation of the spirit of the NHTSA safety mandates for this engine. I am formally requesting/demanding reimbursment from Nissan North America for the $815 that I have been charged.Read more

While driving on the 60 East highway (approximately 65-68 mph), the vehicle did not accelarate and became completely non-responsive. Each time I pressed on the gas pedal, the RPM needle started trembling between 600-1100, which is much lower than where it should be while the vehicle was in Drive and traveling at this speed. This was an extremely dangerous situation as I had my wife and 5 month old

I noticed some engine vibrations, and the digital gauge cluster screen presented information on the screen as if the vehicle was "off." It instructed me to push the gear lever into Park. It then instructed me to press the brake pedal and push the iginition button. All of this occurred as the vehicle was still coasting (likely around 40 mph). I pulled over on to the shoulder to see what occurred. After coming to a complete stop the engine cut out. I was able to restart the vehicle and drove approximately 10 minutes before it occurred again on the surface streets. At that point the ignition did not catch and it sounded very much like the engine was not able to turn on at all. The check engine light turned on at this point. I own a 2025 Toyota Tundra SR5 non-hybrid. The vehicle has transmission hesitation/delayed throttle response after a rolling stop. When I slow down but do not come to a complete stop, then press the accelerator again, the truck sometimes has a 1–2 second delay before it responds and begins moving/accelerating. After the delay, acceleration can come in suddenly, which makes the vehicle feel unpre
... dictable and dangerous. This happens in normal driving situations such as rolling through turns, slowing for traffic, approaching intersections, or merging into traffic. The delay creates a potential safety concern because the vehicle does not respond immediately when throttle input is applied, which could increase the risk of being hit by cross traffic or not being able to accelerate as expected. I had two close calls so far where the vehicle wouldn't accelerate through a cross traffic intersection. The issue is intermittent but repeatable and has occurred at least a dozen times over my one year ownership (purchased brand-new in March 2025). There are no warning lights present on the dash. The issues started to be apparent almost immediately and has been continuing. During a 5k mile service visit at Bobby Rahal Toyota in Mechanicsburg, PA, I explained my concern to a service advisor, and they advised me that Toyota is aware of this problem but there is not fix for it. Why would anyone buy a vehicle with 4 wheel drive if we're not going to be able to depend on it being available. "You didn't buy it here .Why would we help you with anything? Not our problem." The Lithia dealership in Eugene, Oregon doesn't even have a real person answer the phone and has never returned one of our many phone calls. Same with computer generated requests. Complete radio silence. We live over an hour away from the dealership where we bought this piece of crap. We paid this expensive vehicle off early and this is how we should expect to be treated by the cheats who sold it to us? If this vehicle is not recalled/repaired for free, we will never own another and we will make sure we warn others of what they can expect if they do. Shame on all of you for not making this right for so many that depend on their vehicles to get them safely to their destinations.Read more

Transmission. Taken to dealership immediately. Notified that the transmission was going to have to be replaced. Notified there were no transmissions available or re-manufactured transmissions available, that our warranty was up 3 months prior to this date and we would have to spend in the range of $8500-$12,200 to get it fixed when a transmission was available. Warranty company did decide to cover
... some of the cost, but we were out of pocket almost $4000. This problem did not gradually appear, it was instant on the date the incident occurred. Filed a complaint with Toyota, they will not take responsibility and reimburse us any money. This should not be a problem with a Toyota with this many miles on it and they should take responsibility.Read more

On 3/15/26 the CVT transmission on my 2020 HRV EX-L failed while driving on I-95 near Fairfield, CT. My dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree and the car decelerated and would not go past 20 miles per hour. My safety was put at risk because this happened suddenly doing 60 mph highway. There was no indication of an issue with the transmission when I visited the Honda Service center on Friday, 3/1
... 3 to repair a lose panel. They saw no issues. There were two Service Bulletins 21-046 dated 4/27/21 and o6/1/21, respectively that listed certain HRV VIN numbers that had the warranty extended to cover the full replacement cost of the CVT transmission. My VIN is not included. Many of the steps taken by the dealer to determine the transmission failure came from those service bulletins. I would like the NHTSA to look into this issue and contact Honda in order to extend the warranty in order to have the full replacement cost of the transmission covered.Read more

The component that malfunctioned was the transfer case, the vehicle was already repaired so an inspection isn't possible anymore. The vehicle behaved as normal until the accelerator was pressed enough to make the front wheels lose traction, in which the vehicle couldn't send power to the rear, because the transfer case was shredded up. When needing to accelerate quickly in traffic, the vehicle wou
... ld completely spin up the front tires, not being able to put the power down. The dealer reproduced the problem, but initially stated that it was most likely due to the salt on the road (it was winter). As spring arrived, the problem still persisted, in which the dealer checked the transfer case and found it was shredded. They replaced the transmission and transfer case under warranty. There were no warning lights, but accelerating quickly would cause the car to spin up the front tires uncontrollably. In corners, this meant severe understeer that could be dangerous in the wrong circumstances.Read more

While driving, the vehicle experienced sudden and complete loss of throttle response, resulting in little to no acceleration. This occurred in active traffic and created a dangerous situation where the vehicle could not maintain speed or safely move out of traffic. The vehicle has been serviced multiple times by Nissan of Kenosha, including a full transmission replacement under warranty. Despite
... these repairs, the same throttle failure has occurred repeatedly, including within hours of being returned as “repaired.” Most recently, the throttle failed again while driving on a public street, and I was only able to move the vehicle into a driveway with minimal acceleration. The vehicle is currently not drivable and remains unsafe to operate. The dealership has not resolved the issue and has released the vehicle multiple times in an unsafe condition. This is an ongoing safety defect involving loss of acceleration and vehicle control.Read more

Transmission has started to whine, my understanding is this is common for the transmission I have. I have had this verified by 2 different garages. There are no engine lights showing. The noise started around 90K.
