Although my specific VIN is currently not included in this recall, the mechanical symptoms—specifically vibration and grinding at the PTU output—indicate a premature failure of the input shaft splines. This presents a significant safety risk, as the failure of these splines can lead to an abrupt loss of motive power while in motion and a loss of the "Park" function, which could lead to an unintended vehicle rollaway. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate whether the current recall scope should be expanded to include additional 2019 Jeep Cherokee units, such as mine, that were manufactured with the same defective PTU components. Perhaps there is a defect in the design of the motor that the general public may not be aware of? Got it home a few miles later and had it towed to my dealership, was told the trans is shot, there was metal debris in the fluid. Negotiated getting a reman trans from Honda at a huge expense for a truck only worth $10k according to what carvana would give for it but I can’t find any light truck that I want to spend $45k on again. Having the trans replaced made the most sense since my truck is in really good shape (knock on wood) otherwise. Honda adjusted the cost under Goodwill which I appreciate but the cost should’ve been lowered much more and increase the warranty for others with this trans. People think Hondas are bombproof but then we’re blindsided by this huge repair and people don’t know what they’re getting into by buying these used when used car dealers can really take advantage knowing this fatal flaw exists and knowing most shoppers won’t know and will trust that it’ll be fine being a Honda product.Read more

The vehicle is experiencing intermittent electrical and communication failures affecting multiple systems. ... time, occurring randomly and without warning. Both the main battery and auxiliary battery have been replaced; however, the condition remains unresolved. Current symptoms include: •Multiple warning messages and warning lights activating simultaneously while driving (including “Service Antilock Brake System” and “Service Shifter”) •Loss of communication between multiple control modules •Fault codes that temporarily clear but return •Instrument cluster instability and erratic system behavior Power steering assist becomes intermittent during these events, making steering significantly more difficult, particularly when navigating curves or operating in heavy traffic. This creates a serious safety hazard due to reduced vehicle control. Diagnostic trouble codes associated with this condition include multiple communication-related faults (U-codes), indicating loss of communication between critical control modules. The condition may temporarily improve when the auxiliary battery system is bypassed and the battery sensor is disconnected, but the failures consistently return. The issue is ongoing, intermittent, and reproducible. No accidents have occurred to date; however, the condition presents a clear and increasing safety risk. Photographic evidence of warning indicators and system faults occurring during vehicle operation is available. This vintage 2014 Audi A5 has a well known serious rust perforation issue with the rear subframe. The corrosion / rust through of two major holes, approx 3 inches in diameter, causing structural failure of the sub frame. On March 13, 2026 I purchased a 2023 GMC Sierra AT4 Pickup with 3.0 Diesel Engine. While driving on a state highway in a 35 mph zone I started to accelerate as the speed zone changed. The truck suddenly had the rear wheel lock up for a brief time about quarter to half second then the truck proceeded on. This happened as the transmission was downshifting. ... the same truck and towing a 4,000 pound enclosed trailer. This trailer was hooked up within all recommended hookup requirements. In a 225 mile trip I experienced the same rear wheel lock up happen 4 random times during the trip. Once this happened at 65 miles and hour had there been snow or ice on the highway the truck may have crashed. This lock up happened while using the truck in tow haul mode. Two times it happened while the truck was being towed with cruise control active and two times it happened while not using cruise control. Truck was brought to Authorized GM Dealer and inspected and truck had no stored codes from transmission related issues. Dealer blamed this for using cruise while towing. I informed dealer this happened while not using cruise as well. Was told to turn off adaptive cruise when towing. I was unable to find anything in the GMC Manual regarding not using cruise while towing. This appears to be an issue with the valve body in the transmission and customer explained this to the dealer but they denied this claim. When these quick moment lockups happen no codes or engine lights show everything on dash appears normal. Customer is bringing truck to another GM Dealer to be tested and examined.Read more

Then I pressed on the gas again and it threw my vehicle in reverse and jolted my truck back several feet before I could press on the brake. Luckily no one or no object was behind me. The third incident was on April 3rd trying to leave Walmart. My truck would not go in reverse again. The contact stated that the vehicle was driven to the residence; however, while the vehicle was parked there was blue smoke coming from the tailpipe. While driving approximately 30 MPH, the engine overheated. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and the heater was turned on for approximately three minutes. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where it was determined that the engine needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. ... the road into a gas station and use the OnStar to get assistance the vehicle was towed to a local San Antonio dealership Cavender Buick West they gave me a loaner vehicle the next morning and the day after that Wednesday I was informed that yes they confirmed the engine will have to get replaced so now I am waiting for that. I was told by the dealer it could take up to two months for them to receive a replacement engine and once they receive the engine, it can take roughly for maybe five days for turnaround. I inquired whether the replacement engine isn’t upgraded engine or is it the same engine that has all the problems I haven’t received an answer for that yet. Being an AWD. There is a load knocking sound when accelerating from a stop to 30 mph while turning left or right. The frequency happens every time under those conditions. With my experience this knocking sound is indicating a bad CV Joint, axle, or transfer case.
