Keep getting an error code for P0303 cylinder 3 misfire. I have replaced everything to correct this problem but keep getting the same error. Started noticing that coolant is leaving reservoir and only returns when I remove the cap. When I turn the car off I hear water rushing behind the dashboard. There are no leaks seen. I've started having very quick and sudden overheating that cools quickly af
... ter stopping the car. I get a dash message "engine fault service now" message that goes away after I remove the cap from the coolant, thus allowing the reservoir to refill. I've been dealing with the P0303 code off and on for a year now, but the coolant issue started a couple of months ago. Yesterday was the first overheating of the engine and the only place I could pull over was very dangerous and I was not able to fully get out of the road. I saw there is a recall on 2018 Ford Escapes for coolant intrusion. Why is this one not included?!Read more

Shortly after that as I was turning right on the street to enter the parking lot, the car lost power and would not move forward. THe car just lost power in the middle of the street as I was driving. ... needs to be replaced. I read there was a recall: Recall Number: S44 (NHTSA Campaign 16V-461) Affected Vehicles: The recall affects approximately 26,299 vehicles, specifically 2016 Dodge Journey models manufactured between August 17, 2015, and January 29, 2016. 2. Issue: The transmission pump may seize, resulting in a loss of hydraulic pressure. This can lead to a complete loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a crash without warning. This is exactly what happened to me but my vin doesn't come up when I enter it on the website. I think my vehicle should have been included under the recall and transmission pump replaced.Read more

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The Power Transfer Unit (PTU) has malfunctioned. Specifically, the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) is reporting a "TestFailed" status with active fault codes C1440-64 (Transfer Case Clutch Pressure Sensor) and C1477-4B (Transfer Case Clutch - Over Temperature). The vehicle and its diagnostic logs ar
... e available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The failure creates a risk of sudden loss of motive power while driving or a loss of the PARK function when stationary, both of which can lead to a collision. Furthermore, internal diagnostic data has recorded clutch plate temperatures as high as 437.1°F. This extreme thermal condition represents a significant fire hazard and the potential for mechanical seizure while the vehicle is in motion. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The problem was confirmed by Larry H. Miller Casa Chrysler Jeep after the 01C recall software was installed, which subsequently triggered the "TestFailed" status. Additionally, an independent inspection by Universal Transmission confirmed the specific PTU fault codes and verified that the overheating issue is originating from the PTU. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by a manufacturer-authorized dealership (Larry H. Miller Casa Chrysler Jeep) and an independent service center (Universal Transmission). Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, the vehicle displayed "4WD Overheating," "Temp Unavailable," and "Service 4WD" warning lamps and messages. These symptoms were formally documented in technical scan reports beginning in early March 2026.Read more

Started getting " service 4WD system" message at @ 84k miles. Took to Jeep dealer. Code C14A7-97 Internal transfer case failure. Was quoted $3627 for new transfer case and part not available. A car with low overall mileage should not be experiencing these kind of issues. Seems to me that this is a manufacturer problem.

I’ve got the dreaded service 4wd light coming on which means my 4wd system is not working. It’s also known as the C14A7-97 DTC. I bought a 4wd vehicle to have 4wd not front wheel drive. I drive approx 130 miles a day in rain, snow, ice, mud, etc so I need a vehicle that I know will get me to my destinations. I ask dealers about my problem and they are like oh another ptu issue. There’s many
... jeeps with the same problem. That makes a person feel better. Parts are back ordered but also my 2020 doesn’t fall into recall even though it’s the same issue as the prior jeep Cherokee years. Apparently this is a very well common problem but they refuse to fix them. Shouldn’t have to be worrying about these kinds of problems when the vehicle don’t even have 50k mileage yet. I am filing a safety complaint regarding an open manufacturer recall on my vehicle that has not been completed despite being scheduled for repair. On or about 2/16/2026, I scheduled the recall repair with an authorized dealership/service center. The repair was accepted and scheduled; however, the repair has not been completed to date. It has now been approximately 50 days (or more) since the sche
... duled appointment, and the recall remedy remains unresolved. Despite multiple attempts to follow up, the repair has not been performed, and no reasonable timeline has been provided for completion. This ongoing delay leaves the vehicle in an unrepaired condition subject to a known safety-related recall issue. Safety Concern: The unresolved recall defect presents a potential safety risk, as the manufacturer has identified the issue as significant enough to warrant a recall. The continued delay in remedy increases the risk of operating a vehicle with a known safety defect. Dealer / Manufacturer Response: •Recall repair was scheduled and acknowledged by the dealer - suburban ford of Ferndale. •Repair has not been completed after an extended period. •No adequate resolution timeline has been provided. •Communication regarding the delay has been insufficient. Impact: •Vehicle remains in an unsafe or potentially unsafe condition. •Loss of use / inability to rely on manufacturer recall remedy. •Unreasonable delay in addressing a safety recall. Requested Action: I am requesting that NHTSA: •Review this matter as a potential failure to timely remedy a safety recall •Ensure the manufacturer and/or dealer fulfills its obligations to complete the recall repair promptly •Investigate whether systemic delays or failures are occurring in the recall remedy process Additional Notes: This issue is not merely about the existence of a recall, but rather the failure to complete a scheduled recall repair within a reasonable timeframe after acceptance by the dealership.Read more

Unreasonable Delay in Remedy for Recall 23V896 / 23S65 I am filing this complaint to report an unacceptable delay in the remedy for NHTSA Recall 23V896 (Manufacturer 23S65). This recall was issued in December 2023, yet as of April 2026, the manufacturer continues to claim that parts are unavailable for repair. This delay has persisted for nearly three years, during which time the manufacturer has
... continued to produce and sell new vehicles while leaving existing owners at risk. 1. Component Failure & Inspection: The components involved are the rear axle bolts. The vehicle and the specific components are available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety Risk: The safety of myself, my passengers, and others on the road is at significant risk. A failure of the rear axle hub bolts can result in a total loss of motive power (the ability to move the vehicle) or cause the vehicle to roll away while in park. Both scenarios significantly increase the risk of a high-speed crash or injury to pedestrians. 3. Confirmation & History: The necessity for this repair has been confirmed by an authorized dealer service center. However, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer’s corporate representatives, police, or insurance. 4. Symptoms & Warnings: There were no warning lamps, messages, or physical symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. I only became aware of the defect through the official recall notification provided by the manufacturer and the NHTSA. Conclusion: It is unacceptable that a known safety defect remains unremedied for this duration. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate the manufacturer's failure to provide a remedy within a reasonable timeframe as required by law, especially considering the continued production of new units using similar components.Read more

The vehicle suffered a structural "seam leak" on the pressurized oil filter housing. This was verified by an authorized Hyundai dealer (Dealer XXX, Invoice #XXX). The failure is a structural crack in the housing component itself, not a maintenance-related seal or filter failure. This defect causes pressurized engine oil to spray directly onto the hot engine block while the vehicle is in operation,
... creating a severe and immediate fire hazard. Additionally, the rapid loss of oil and oil pressure poses a risk of sudden engine seizure or stalling at highway speeds, which could lead to a crash. Despite being a known manufacturing defect in a critical engine component, the manufacturer has refused to address the safety implications or offer a remedy. DESCRIPTION OF SAFETY ISSUE: The Concentric Slave Cylinder (CSC) on my 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback 6-speed manual failed during normal driving at around 60mph, creating an immediate and uncontrolled safety hazard. The clutch pedal depressed fully to the floor while I was shifting from 5th gear to 6th gear and the vehicle became unable to be shifted out of gear, leaving me unable to properly con
... trol vehicle speed or movement. The only way to release the transmission was to physically reach down and lift the clutch pedal up with my foot while attempting to drive. CRITICAL SAFETY CONCERN - SHARED BRAKE AND CLUTCH FLUID RESERVOIR: On this vehicle, the brake fluid reservoir and clutch hydraulic system share a single reservoir. When the CSC fails and leaks fluid, brake fluid is consumed directly from the same reservoir that supplies the braking system. A CSC failure does not only result in loss of clutch function — it results in loss of brake fluid, and with sufficient fluid loss, partial or complete brake failure. This is not a theoretical risk. This vehicle can fail in a way that simultaneously removes the driver's ability to control vehicle speed via the transmission AND reduces or eliminates braking capability — both at the same time, without warning I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this as a safety defect and consider whether a recall or service campaign is warranted given the risk of simultaneous clutch and brake failure on these vehicles.Read more

I am reporting a safety-related failure involving my 2021 Volkswagen ID.4. The vehicle has experienced two separate incidents where it suddenly lost power while driving and became inoperable without warning. The first occurrence happened while I was in the middle of an intersection. The vehicle lost power and could not continue moving, creating a dangerous situation with surrounding traffic. The s

In both cases, after the failure occurred, the vehicle would power on and could be shifted into drive or reverse; however, the vehicle would not move or provide any propulsion in either gear. The vehicle had to be manually pushed out of the roadway. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership multiple times over the course of ownership for issues involving the electrical and high-voltage systems. Service records show repeated diagnostic procedures, recall and campaign work, and repairs involving the battery system and related control functions. Diagnostic fault codes associated with this issue have included P0BEE00 and P0BE600 (drive motor current sensor circuit faults), along with communication-related faults. Despite these multiple service visits and repairs, the condition has not been reliably resolved, indicating an ongoing and intermittent system failure. Most recently, the dealer diagnosed a failure related to the drive motor system. The rear drive motor was replaced; however, after replacement, the vehicle still would not properly communicate with the motor. The dealer has since identified the issue as being related to the control module responsible for communication with the drive motor (gateway), which also requires replacement. The vehicle has been out of service for extended periods, including a current repair period exceeding one month. Given that the vehicle has lost propulsion without wRead more

Also, the 75,000.00 price tag was really has me extremely upset... Monument Chevrolet treated me well. I had actually brought it in and called about the steering which was greatly affected by the severe front end wobble more than one time. I was told at first the oil consumption was pretty normal. On June 17th, 2025 while driving from [XXX] back to my home state of [XXX] , I experienced an engine malfunction in Chester, Va where the 6.2 L87 engine was shaking and had severe hesitation. It was diagnosed by the Chevrolet dealership in Chester, VA as suffering severe failure of ALL 8 fuel injectors, fuel rails and connector harnesses, resulting in a 15 day repair wait and a $4,644.50 bill not

After this I attempted for 3 months for GM to cover the repair as the vehicle was less than 5 years old and less than 60,000 miles under the 5 yr/60K warranty but denied it. On March 26th, 2026 while driving on the parkway at about 60 mph, my vehicle experienced loss of power (slow deceleration, shaking/hesitation) and I immediately took it to the repair shop where it was diagnosed as a P0308 code (misfire on cylinder 8) which caused a repair of the #8 spark plug, ignition coil and wire resulting in a $380. repair. Two days later, I experienced the same issue and then took it to an engine diagnostic specialty shop where I have been told that this issue will run about $4,000 due to valve and comprehension issues on an engine that has 60, 680 miles. I have seen numerous L87 engine complaints on Chevy Forums with no assurances that repairs or engine replacement will rectify the issue and feel that this is an issue that GM should be addressing for safety issues and an economic loss to its customers. The vehicle's engine has suffered a catastrophic internal failure at approximately 56,000 miles. The engine is the 6.4-liter HEMI V8. The issue began with a loud ticking noise from the engine. I brought the vehicle to Stoneridge Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Pleasanton for diagnosis. At that visit, the dealership lubricated an unspecified component and instructed me to continue driving. The ticking nois
... e temporarily subsided. Shortly after, the check engine light illuminated. I returned the vehicle to the same dealership, where the technician retrieved diagnostic trouble code P0303 (cylinder 3 misfire). Upon further inspection, the technician found scoring on the cylinder 3 wall, a persistent loud ticking noise from the engine, and metal contamination in the engine oil sample. The dealership diagnosed the failure as requiring a complete engine long block replacement at a quoted cost exceeding $23,000. The powertrain warranty has expired based on the 3-year time limit; however, the vehicle has fewer than 56,000 miles, which is well below the warranty's mileage threshold and exceptionally low for a vehicle of this age. The vehicle has been properly maintained throughout ownership with regular oil changes and scheduled service intervals. No aftermarket modifications have been made; the engine and all related components remain factory stock. I contacted Stellantis customer care to request assistance. They stated that because the vehicle is no longer under warranty, there is nothing they can do, and that the dealership should have submitted a goodwill assistance request on my behalf. The dealership said they would look into it. A complete engine failure at this mileage on an engine marketed as a high-performance powerplant suggests a manufacturing or material defect rather than normal wear and tear.Read more

I purchased 2017 ford explorer from Mark Ficken. It was still under warranty. The transmission went out in a week something with the torque converter. They replaced the transmission free of charge. Two years two months outside of the warranty the transmission fails again due to the torque converter. I explained how ridiculous this was and they gave me a discount for replacing the transmission whic
... h I still had to pay thousands of dollars. Another two years and two months later outside of the warranty and the tourqe converter is bad again. Since they helped the last time they could not help again. They said it was normal wear and tear which is impossible because normal wear and tears on the same part within the same time frame is a faulty transmission period. I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from them as they wouldn’t even acknowledge that was a problem. This experience with Ford has been horrible. This Ford dealership took no accountability and the corporate division didn’t seem to care that this dealership allows stuff like this to happen with the Ford name. I ended up taking my vehicle to a outside mechanic, he replaced the fly wheel, that repair lasted about 6 months until fly wheel has now broken again with in 3 months. Now my mechanic is saying he will no longer honor the warranty on the fly wheel because he keeps having to replace it too much and he insists that ford knew something else was going on with the vehicle and its not normal to have to replace this many transmissions and fly wheels with in this time frame. Has anyone else had this problem?Read more

At less than 50,000 miles, my alternator went out and had to be replaced, causing the battery to need to be replaced also. Now, at only 51,000 miles, my transmission is having problems and causing the vehicle to jerk when shifting. This vehicle has had regular maintenance performed by a combination of dealers and certified service centers since it was purchased brand new. I have never had this
... much trouble with a vehicle and am very concerned about it's overall safety and integrity, given the severity of the problems for something that is not old and does not have high mileage.Read more

Saturday 4/4 I took the truck to get a tire repaired. It would not initially start. 5 minutes later it finally did. Then a few blocks away the trucks internal lights started flashing and it jumped from drive into a lower gear. I thought my drive quit working. I pulled over and had reverse and low so I attempted to put in drive, still wouldn't go. After about 5 minutes I was able to get the truck b
... ack into drive and get it home where it sits today. I just bought it 1 1/2 months ago. It happened to my son also on Thursday 4/2 but I just found out about it. He was going highway speeds when lights started flashing and truck jerked from drive into a lower gear. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I want to know what you are going to do about it? I just paid $22,000 for this truck. I shouldn't have to deal with this. My son looked it up and says it is P0707 lead frame failure or output shaft speed sensor. Whatever the case, it would be nice to know what can be done about it other than switching to manual dirive.Read more

I am reporting a safety concern regarding BMW vehicles equipped with the B58 Technical Update (B58TU) engine, commonly found on models from 2019 to 2021. The oil pump in these vehicles is failing prematurely. I was told this by service technicians at BMW and confirmed it through my own research. The oil pump failure is due to a plastic adjusting ring breaking. The result is severe oil pressure lo
... ss and engine failure. This is uncommon for a vehicle that has 65k miles. The engine failure comes without warning; there are no check engine light warnings. The vehicle's engine just fails I discovered the oil pump failure when I found it unusual that I had to add oil twice over a 6-month period. I took it to the dealer, where they informed me of the issue. This is extremely dangerous, especially when an engine locks up at high speeds on a highway.Read more

Summary of Safety Issue The vehicle repeatedly experiences sudden loss of propulsion while driving, accompanied by a “Stop Safely Now” warning message and various other dashboard warnings . During these events the accelerator pedal becomes completely unresponsive while the vehicle remains powered, indicating a failure of the hybrid propulsion system or high-voltage battery control system. The
... vehicle and video footage of the failure are available for inspection upon request. Timeline of Events January 13, 2026 – The vehicle displayed a “Stop Safely Now” warning message and lost the ability to accelerate. The vehicle had to be towed to Lehighton Ford. January 21, 2026 – Paid $866.85 for repairs including battery service, Rear Control Module replacement, and PCM harness repair. Lehighton Ford stated the vehicle was repaired and safe to drive. Within minutes of leaving the dealership, the vehicle stalled again in active traffic and had to be returned. The issue was escalated to the Ford Engineering hotline and a Field Service Engineer. February 17, 2026 – The dealership attempted to return the vehicle after performing a BECM reprogramming. Upon pickup, new issues were immediately observed including near-stall conditions and hybrid system malfunction, so the vehicle was left with the dealership again. February 18, 2026 - The owner brought forth concerns about Ford’s Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 17-0015 which identifies potential damage to the traction battery interlock harness as a root cause for intermittent stalling and "Stop Safely Now" warnings. Although the dealership recorded Diagnostic Trouble Code B11D8—a fault directly related to the stall condition—the dealership later stated that no diagnostic codes relevant to the TSB were present and this component was not inspected. February 20, 2026 - Dealership claims that the vehicle has been test-driven for over 100 miles and is “functioning perfectly” and that a ‘battery rebalance’ was causing the issues experieRead more
