My 2023 GMC Hummer EV 3X has experienced repeated thermal-protection failures in the high-voltage battery and drive-motor cooling system, causing the vehicle to enter limp mode and drop to as low as 12 mph without warning. Stored fault codes: P0C12, P0C13, P2EE0, P2EE1 (battery and drive-unit overheating). A sudden, unannounced drop to 12 mph in a 9,000-lb EV is a serious safety hazard — on hig
... hways it creates rear-end collision risk, in intersections it leaves the vehicle stranded in traffic, and on remote roads it can strand the driver with no safe shoulder. Visit 1 (Covert Buick GMC of Bee Cave, TX): 02/09/2026–03/24/2026, 43 days out of service. Repairs: replaced both EV coolant pumps (PN 85605761), replaced Drive Motor Inverter Module 2 (PN 24059125), coolant flush, software update. RO #BUCS138101. GM TAC Case #88689105. Six days after return, on 03/30/2026, the same defect recurred with the same fault codes. Vehicle has now been back at the dealer 38+ additional days with no resolution. GM had pre-sale knowledge of this exact defect on this exact VIN. The vehicle was a GM corporate evaluation unit (factory option code OAR — EVALUATION VEHICLE) operated out of GM Tech Center in Warren, MI. GM took it out of service on 08/07/2025 at 30,169 miles. I took delivery 16 miles later at 30,185 miles. A GM Driver Inspection Form left inside the vehicle at delivery is handwritten with "Limited Speed 12 mph" — the exact limp-mode behavior. GM auctioned the vehicle through CVO Warren Distribution Center without disclosing this condition. I request ODI open a preliminary evaluation of cooling-system thermal-protection failures on 2022–2024 Hummer EV Pickups and SUVs, particularly units with prior corporate/fleet use.Read more

While passing at highway speeds under heavy acceleration, the transmission system on my 2026 Honda Passport with approximately 7,000 miles malfunctioned. Multiple warning messages appeared, including “Transmission system problem. Reverse gear not available. See your dealer,” “Transmission system problem. Avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. See your dealer,” “Transmission system prob
... lem. Paddle shifters not available. See your dealer,” and “Emissions system problem. Power may be reduced. See your dealer.” The vehicle then shifted into a middle gear and remained there, reducing normal drivability during a passing maneuver. I was able to pull over safely. After turning the vehicle off and back on, the warnings cleared temporarily, but the failure repeated multiple times. The safety concern is that the malfunction occurred during highway-speed passing and affected propulsion/gear availability. No crash or injury occurred. A Honda dealer pulled diagnostic codes P097F-17 and U3500-16 and stated that the TCM inside the transmission needed replacement. A second Honda dealer later reproduced the problem, consulted Honda technical support, and Honda approved replacement of the full transmission under warranty. The vehicle has been repaired and is available for inspection upon request. The failed transmission was replaced under warranty, so whether the original failed component remains available for inspection is UNKNOWN.Read more

Vehicle is a 2017 Ford F-150 equipped with the 5.0L engine and 6R80 automatic transmission. The transmission has developed repeated harsh and abnormal shifting behavior, primarily during upshifts between 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th gears. During these shifts, the vehicle lurches/kicks forward abruptly and feels as though it is driving over a bump or being struck from behind. Condition is more pronounce
... d when transmission is cold and worsens significantly under load, including while towing or driving uphill. Issue has persisted despite transmission fluid service/triple flush, adaptive relearn procedure, and replacement of spark plugs/ignition coils to rule out engine-related causes. Independent Transmission Shop has inspected vehicle, confirmed abnormal transmission operation, and advised that internal transmission wear/failure is likely. Transmission fluid was reported to be excessively dark/dirty for mileage. No warning lights or transmission fault codes are currently present. The harsh and unpredictable shift behavior creates a safety concern because the vehicle can surge/lurch unexpectedly during acceleration, particularly when merging into traffic, climbing grades, or towing. Sudden driveline shock during gear changes may affect vehicle stability and driver control, especially in wet/low-traction conditions or while towing. Transmission remains installed in vehicle and is available for inspection upon request. Vehicle has been inspected by an independent transmission repair facility; manufacturer has not inspected vehicle at this time. Symptoms first became noticeable at approximately 70,000 miles and have progressively worsened. Photo attachments of conclusion by Independent Transmission Shop have been uploaded.Read more

The vehicle experienced a failure involving the automatic transmission gear shift cable (recall AOC 2013–2016). The gear selector indicated the vehicle was in “Park,” but the transmission was not fully engaged in Park due to the defective shift cable/bushing. This created a significant safety risk, as the vehicle was capable of rolling unexpectedly after being placed in Park. This condition
... puts the driver, passengers, pedestrians, and surrounding property at risk of injury or damage, especially when parked on an incline or in populated areas. There were no clear or consistent warning indicators prior to the issue. The vehicle appeared to be safely secured, which increases the possibility of an accident or death because the driver may exit the vehicle believing it will remain stationary. This issue is consistent with a known recall involving the shift cable assembly. The defect appears to be intermittent and not always easily reproducible, but it directly impacts the vehicle’s ability to remain securely in Park. At this time, the vehicle has not received a complete or reliable remedy, and the condition raises ongoing safety concerns. The component can be made available for inspection upon request. Because this defect affects a critical safety function and can lead to unintended vehicle movement, it presents a serious hazard. I am submitting this complaint to document the issue and request further investigation and resolution.Read more

I own a Ford F-150 equipped with the 10R80 10-speed transmission. The truck has approximately 79,000 miles and has been diagnosed by a Ford dealership with CDF drum/cylinder and solenoid body failure. The quoted repair cost is over $10,000 for a remanned transmission replacement. This truck has shifted hard since approximately 30,000 miles, but I was led to believe it was normal behavior for the
... 10-speed transmission. The vehicle has been lightly used and properly maintained through Ford. It is still on its original tires and brakes, which supports that this is not a high-abuse or heavy-use vehicle. A major transmission failure at 79,000 miles under normal use is not reasonable vehicle durability. The failure involves the CDF drum/cylinder, a known failure point in the Ford 10R80 transmission. This can cause harsh shifting, delayed engagement, gear skipping, slipping, abnormal acceleration behavior, and unpredictable shifting. These conditions create a safety concern when accelerating into traffic, merging, turning across lanes, passing, or driving at highway speeds. Ford has issued technical service guidance related to the 10R80 transmission and CDF drum/cylinder failure, including diagnostic procedures for hydraulic leakage and internal repair. This confirms the issue is known and identifiable, yet owners are still facing extremely expensive failures outside the standard warranty period. Another concern is that Ford is proposing remanufactured transmission replacements rather than new replacements, despite reports of repeat CDF-related failures after remanufactured units if updated CDF components are not included. This is not normal wear and tear. This is premature failure of a known defective transmission component that affects drivability, reliability, and safety. Ford should not leave customers responsible for potentially multiple $10,000+ repair costs for a known 10R80/CDF drum failure.Read more

The vehicle has a dangerous hesitation and delayed acceleration when I am coasting and then reapplying the accelerator. This occurs in scenarios such as approaching a yield, slowing for a left turn on a green light, or slowing to merge where I reduce speed but do not come to a complete stop. When I press the accelerator to resume speed, the vehicle does not respond for a significant period. The tr
... uck fails to accelerate even with substantial throttle input, including pressing the pedal to the floor. After the delay, power may return suddenly. This delayed response creates a serious safety hazard in traffic. The hesitation occurs at the exact time immediate acceleration is needed to clear an intersection or merge into traffic. This has created near-miss situations due to the vehicle not accelerating when expected. Warning lights and diagnostics: No check engine light is illuminated during the events. The issue occurs without any visible warning indicators on the instrument panel. Conditions: The hesitation is most noticeable during coasting and throttle reapplication at low to moderate speeds, especially when slowing but not stopping. It is not limited to one specific road or location. Service and repair attempts: The vehicle has been presented to a dealer on 06/30/2025, 07/09/2025, 07/17/2025, 08/01/2025, and 02/06/2026. I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2015 Dodge Dart SXT with an active safety recall that currently has no available remedy. My vehicle experienced failure related to the recall issue, resulting in the vehicle becoming inoperable and requiring repair. At the time of failure, I was informed that the official recall remedy was not yet available and that the necessary part was on backorder.
... Because no recall remedy was available, I was forced to pay out of pocket to repair the vehicle in order to restore operability. I also incurred significant rental vehicle expenses while my car remained in the repair shop awaiting parts. I contacted Stellantis/Dodge Customer Care multiple times requesting assistance or reimbursement related to: * the repair costs associated with the recall-related failure, and * rental expenses incurred while the vehicle was out of service. My requests were denied, and the matter was repeatedly categorized as an “out-of-warranty” issue despite my concern specifically involving an active safety recall with no available remedy at the time of failure. I am concerned about: * the lack of an available recall remedy, * the financial burden placed on consumers when a recall-related failure occurs before a remedy is available, * extended delays due to backordered parts, and * the absence of transportation assistance or reimbursement for affected consumers. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as a recall-related consumer safety and financial hardship issue.Read more

Transmission Malfunction / Erratic Low-Speed Operation I am reporting a safety-related defect involving the transmission system in my vehicle. The issue appears to have originated as a software-related drivability problem but progressed over time into a more serious mechanical failure affecting the transmission. The vehicle exhibited lurching/hesitation at low speeds, particularly during city dr
... iving and while idling or creeping forward in traffic. This malfunction creates a potential safety risk because the vehicle does not respond smoothly or predictably to driver input. The erratic behavior is disconcerting and requires increased driver attention, creating a distraction and reducing confidence in the vehicle’s operation. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by a service technician, who identified a transmission-related problem and recommended repair or replacement. The failure was not consistent with normal wear and occurred prematurely. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership and is covered under the 5 year power-train warranty. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lights or messages indicating a major transmission issue. The problem I believe has been there since day 1- initially presenting as mild hesitation that could be mistaken for normal operation (especially with a turbocharged engine), but became increasingly annoying over time. After researching the issue, found similar reports from other owners describing comparable transmission behavior, suggesting this may be a broader defect.Read more

SUMMARY OF SAFETY HAZARD: I am reporting a catastrophic and unpredictable loss of motive power in a 2023 Volkswagen Taos (4Motion with DQ381 DSG Transmission). The vehicle presents a critical electronic sensor failure within the transmission mechatronics unit that causes the vehicle to enter an immediate "Limp Mode" without warning. This has resulted in several near-miss incidents where the veh
... icle became immobilized in active traffic and on high-speed roadways. TECHNICAL DATA OF FAILURE: Factory-level ODIS diagnostic logs (recorded Feb 3 and March 17, 2026) reveal that the transmission’s "Actual position clutch 1" reports a constant value of -0.69 bar. In an automotive hydraulic system engineered for positive pressure, a reading of -0.69 bar is a physical impossibility (a vacuum state). This indicates a total failure of the pressure sensor/TCU logic, leading to the unintentional disengagement of the primary drive clutch. DECEPTIVE REPORTING RISK: Authorized service centers have been documented falsifying the safety status of this vehicle. Despite possessing internal diagnostic logs showing the -0.69 bar vacuum failure, a dealership issued a final Service Order certifying "No issues found" and stating "Actual values match." This reporting practice is forcing a vehicle with a known, documented powertrain failure back onto public roads, creating a severe life-safety risk for occupants and other motorists. The vehicle is currently grounded to prevent a collision.Read more

The Rear Axle Drivetrain Assembly failed. Specifically, a critical structural fastener (bolt) associated with NHTSA Recall #25V090 (MBUSA #2025020010) completely detached from the rear axle. The vehicle is currently in my possession and the failed component/repair is photographed. The detachment of this structural bolt caused a complete loss of propulsion while the vehicle was in a commercial driv
... eway. Had this occurred minutes earlier during my 500-mile round trip on the I-95 highway, it would have resulted in a catastrophic drivetrain separation or axle lock-up at highway speeds (65+ mph). This posed a fatal risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. The failure was confirmed and documented by an independent service center (Crown Auto, [XXX] ) and subsequently confirmed by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer (Mercedes-Benz of White Plains). White Plains issued a strict "Do Not Drive" order and dispatched emergency roadside assistance to transport the vehicle. The vehicle has been inspected by Mercedes-Benz of White Plains (authorized manufacturer representative) and Crown Auto. I have photographic evidence of the failed component prior to the re-repair. Mercedes-Benz of El Cajon (the originating dealer) has also been provided with photographic evidence but has refused to acknowledge the failure. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the failure. The first symptom was a complete loss of propulsion and a "spinning" sensation from the rear axle upon arriving in Queens. This lack of warning is particularly dangerous as the vehicle gave no indication of the impending structural failure during a 500-mile highway journey. The Service Director at the originating dealership, Ernie Serrano, initially denied the existence of the safety recall in writing and subsequently suggested that I misrepresent the nature of the failure to avoid a 'failed recall' record. This suggests a systemic attempt to hide safety-critical repair failures from the manufacturer a INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFRead more

This vehicle has ongoing drivability issues that have not been resolved despite multiple repair attempts involving engine-related components and repairs. The issue began in November 2024 while the vehicle was under warranty with coolant and engine warnings. At that time, I reported coolant loss, warning messages, hesitation during acceleration, and abnormal vehicle vibration. I was initially told
... no issue existed. Shortly after warranty expiration, the vehicle required a major head gasket repair in 2025 after continuing to exhibit the same coolant-related issues. In 2026, the vehicle required an additional engine-related repair involving a camshaft seal in the same area of the engine that had previously been dismantled and rebuilt. Despite these repairs, the same drivability symptoms remain. The vehicle intermittently hesitates during acceleration, particularly from a stop or during merging conditions, where engine RPM increases significantly before the vehicle responds. The vehicle also exhibits significant steering wheel and seat vibration at highway speeds and during extended driving. These conditions create a potential safety concern because the vehicle does not consistently respond as expected during acceleration and becomes unstable and uncomfortable to operate at highway speeds. The hesitation creates concern when entering traffic, crossing intersections, or attempting to accelerate in situations requiring predictable vehicle response. The issue has been repeatedly presented to the dealership and repair attempts have been performed, including major engine work, but the condition remains unresolved. The repairs were treated as separate isolated issues rather than a continuation of the original condition first reported under warranty. The vehicle has been out of service for approximately 43 days across these repairs. No loaner vehicle was provided during those periods. The vehicle remains in its current condition with unresolved issues.Read more

It started when I put my car in reverse and it would delay and jerk back before reversing off and on. About a month later, I started my car in the street and accelerated and it jerked and shut off in the middle of a street. I restarted it and accelerated it again and it jerked and shut off again. It's a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse with 61,570 miles. I towed it back to dealer and they are stating it's
... an issue with the transmission and want to charge $9800. I can send the email Chevy sent for the repair estimate. My safety was put at risk by completely stopping in the middle of the street where I could have gotten crashed into. The problem was confirmed by the chevy dealer where I bought the vehicle. The vehicle was seen by transmission specialist at Chevy dealer. No warning messages at all. Chevy app kept saying everything looks good with vehicle.Read more

A 2021 Buick Encore GX with 66,828 miles experienced sudden transmission failure while driving. The vehicle lost forward gear engagement and began slipping, creating an immediate safety risk to the driver and other motorists due to unexpected loss of vehicle propulsion and control. The vehicle was diagnosed by an authorized GM dealership. Diagnostic codes P2714 (Transmission Control Solenoid Valv
... e 4 Stuck Off) and P0700 (Transmission Control Module Request) were confirmed. The transmission fluid was found to have a burnt odor indicating severe internal damage. The check engine light was the first warning symptom, followed by slipping and loss of forward gear. General Motors previously issued Technical Service Bulletin 24-NA-009 in March 2024 specifically identifying DTC P2714 on the 2021 Buick Encore GX as a known internal defect affecting model years 2020 through 2024. This bulletin confirms GM was aware of this defect prior to this vehicle's failure. Despite issuing this bulletin, GM has not issued a recall, leaving owners of affected vehicles responsible for repairs caused by a known manufacturer defect.Read more

Car locks itself into 2 Wheel Drive when conditions are "unfavorable" meaning sometimes rain and most commonly in cold weather. If anyone has driven on snowy and icy roads during the winter, they know how much of a problem this can cause in the winter. Not only has the dealership's maintenance department not been able to diagnose the issue but GM themselves are refusing to acknowledge this problem
... as well. This is a huge safety hazard given the instability of the vehicle driving in those conditions, especially if you cant gain traction while on a busy road. The only indicator is the light that shows AWD and 2WD is in 2WD and an orange color. This is a big accident waiting to happen, if it hasn't happened to someone else already, given the state I've seen some of the newer models in.Read more

transmission cable bushing failed. I see there is a recall for older models. The shift cable came off the transmission just like the recall problem had. this left my car stuck in reverse so i could not move the car or start it after I turned it off and I could not get it off the street.
