Vehicle was determined to be unsafe to operate per inspection performed by Mike Maroone Chevrolet on 8/26/24 immediately after I purchased from Rocky Mountain Auto Brokers in Colorado Springs on 8/8/26. It was discovered by customer immediately after sale that bank 2 catalytic converter was restricted internally (after Rocky Mountain failed to correctly diagnose and repair 3 times before and after
... purchase). Customer discovered emissions warranty extension and took to Maroone Chevrolet. After warranty repair inspection of vehicle determined it was not safe for customer to pick up and drive vehicle and generated a report and video showing front suspension damage so loose that could cause crash and vehicle was towed back to Rocky Mountain for repairs. Rocky Mountain has failed to provide any documentation on these repairs and many subsequent repairs including transmission replacement after many written requests. Customer cannot verify if vehicle repairs brought vehicle back to a safe condition. Almost anll repairs by Rocky Mountain has failed resulting in missing bolts, bolts falling out after transmission replacement As well as failure of many CV Axel replacements documented in their own records. Extended Warranty Company also refuses to provide documentation of transmission replacement after they supplied the part (transmission) to Rocky Mountain for installation. Customer cannot verify if in fact transmission was replaced as it was painted black. Any warranty on replaced transmission cannot be verified and they also have refused to provide documentation or serial number verifying same after many written requests. Customer would like to submit a detailed letter and safety inspection report with further info and details in addition to this online form complaint as this is a complex case and additional info will further prove up these allegations. Some documents provided by Rocky Mountain are inconsistent with customer complaints and do not reflect accurate info.Read more

My 2019 Dodge Durango R/T began experiencing drivetrain and warning system issues after collision/body repairs were completed by a repair facility. The original repair work involved suspension/body-related repairs and did not originally include documented transfer case or internal drivetrain damage. At the time I picked the vehicle up from the repair facility, the tire pressure monitoring system
... warning light was already illuminated. I notified the repair facility and was told to drive the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and the warning would clear itself. I have video documentation related to this interaction. After the repairs, additional problems began appearing including: * Service AWD warning * Traction control warning indicators * Ongoing drivetrain concerns * Diagnosis involving transfer case/internal damage and burnt fluid The vehicle was later reported to have transfer case clutch failure and internal drivetrain-related issues despite the original repair scope not documenting drivetrain damage. My concern is that the post-repair warnings and drivetrain symptoms may indicate improper inspection, repair, reassembly, fluid servicing, calibration, or unresolved damage related to the repair process. The vehicle has been inspected by the repair facility and diagnostic information was later provided identifying drivetrain/transfer case issues.Read more

Incident date: May 7, 2026
The issue involves the vehicle’s drivetrain and hybrid/electronic control system, where the car suddenly jerked forward in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway as if it had been struck from behind. Immediately following this event, the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 40 mph, indicating a loss of normal power. This created a significant safety risk, as the sudden jerking could hav
... e led to a rear-end collision, and the inability to accelerate properly made it difficult to keep up with traffic on the freeway. I was barely able to safely pull off the freeway while surrounding traffic continued at higher speeds, increasing the risk to myself and other drivers. The problem appeared to resolve after turning the vehicle off and then back on; however, this raises concern about intermittent failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealership for inspection, but they were unable to reproduce or identify the issue. The vehicle remains available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has been inspected by a dealer but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the failure, there were no warning lights, messages, or noticeable symptoms indicating an issue. Based on similar reported experiences, this event may be consistent with a “limp mode” condition or a malfunction in the transition between the electric motor and gasoline engine, potentially involving the transmission or hybrid control system.Read more

I bought my 2018 Toyota CHR back in November from a Mitsubishi dealership. When I first test drove it, it was making a weird whining noise, I was told it was the bearing and that they will fix it before I pick the vehicle up. They kept the car for several days to repair it and inspect it. A few days after picking the car up I started to hear a very low noise. I couldn’t describe the sound becaus
... e it wasn’t a rattling and it wasn’t the same kind of sound from the first time. When I brought it back in we did a test driver but the GM couldn’t hear it. I did a recording of the noise and sent it to him, they told me to wait until my warranty was active before they can do anything. As time went on the noise got louder and now sounds like a motorcycle when I accelerate. And makes a whining down noise when I’m slowing down. When I accelerate it doesn’t feel like the car is moving but it sounds like it is. I have not been put in any danger yet but I don’t feel safe driving it. I’ve reached it online and found out what I am experiencing is common failure and there is currently a class action happening in Canada for a transmission bearing failure. From what have been reported, if I continue to drive it the transmission can fail.Read more

On April 16, 2026, within minutes of being released from a certified dealership, my 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 suffered a sudden and total loss of propulsion while traveling at high speed on the Belt Parkway (NY). Despite depressing the accelerator, the vehicle failed to maintain speed and stalled in active traffic. This created an immediate life-safety hazard, forcing me to navigate across multip
... le lanes without engine power to avoid a high-speed rear-end collision. The vehicle was released to me by Mercedes-Benz of Brooklyn on April 16, 2026, following a repair for which I paid $2,134.94. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a wiring harness/sensor fault and formally certified the vehicle as "Found OK" and safe for operation. The catastrophic failure occurred only 22 minutes after I departed the dealership lot. The vehicle had to be towed back to the facility immediately. Upon the vehicle being towed back on April 16, the dealership admitted via recorded voicemail that the initial $2,134.94 repair was a misdiagnosis. They subsequently issued a new diagnosis for a "Valve Body" failure and a new quote of $6,424. The dealership's Service Director has since admitted the vehicle suffers from concurrent transmission and engine failures, rendering the car a liability. This represents a critical failure of the powertrain and electronic control systems. Releasing a vehicle that suffers a total power loss on a highway immediately after a "certified" repair is gross negligence. I am reporting this to NHTSA as a catastrophic failure of a safety-critical component (Transmission/Valve Body) that resulted in a "dead-stick" situation on a major New York thoroughfare, posing a severe risk to myself and other motorists. The vehicle remains at the dealership. Mercedes-Benz USA has offered only a $2,000 "goodwill credit," which does not address the safety defects or the initial misdiagnosis. No recall has been initiated for this batch.Read more

I am reporting a systemic safety fraud involving three critical points:1. INHERENT DEFECT & CRASH LINK: This vehicle has a pathological history of 6 transmission fluid changes starting from 308 miles and multiple alignment failures. There is strong suspicion of inherent defects in both the POWERTRAIN and REAR DRIVETRAIN/STEERING systems. These defects likely contributed to the previous owner's 5-s
... ide collision in May 2022. The record suggests a "Sudden Loss of Motive Power" and "Control Instability" risk existed from day one.2. RECALL MALPRACTICE (#23V-844): Despite the massive structural damage from the crash (bent hinges and frame misalignment), the dealer (Planet Honda) certified the fire-safety recall as complete in Dec 2024. Installing electrical recall parts on a compromised chassis violates federal safety standards and creates an unaddressed fire hazard.3. FRAUDULENT CPO RE-SALE: The dealer and manufacturer conspired to "launder" this known-accident vehicle back into the market via the CPO program, concealing the lethal combination of mechanical failure and structural instability from the next victim. The vehicle is currently mothballed due to these hazards. This matter is under active investigation by the (AID)Colorado Department of Revenue, Auto Industry Division (Case #[[XXX]). I petition NHTSA to audit the i-HDS diagnostic logs from the Dec 2024 recall to investigate this safety compliance fraud. on 1/26/26 while driving my car started shaking. I felt unsafe driving and had the car towed to the dealership. ... f town, the car suddenly felt like it lost the ability to "shift gears" and could barely make it up hills in an area that was all hills often times with no shoulder to pull off. The engine malfuction light reduce power was on. The Nissan dealer inspected and said admission valve readings were out of spec (second throttle body) and replaced. About an hour after this repair was complete and the car was driven out of the dealership, it again felt like was losing power, couldnt climb hills and service cvt power reduced light was on. (We just had cvt fluid flushed and replaced on 1/26.) Dealer removed and replaced cvt control valve assembly. The car is still rough idling and I am concerned that it will lose power with no notice again while driving putting me and others at risk. I am concerned that the throttle body and cvt issues are connected to the original ECM recall especially since other rogues manufactured in a similar time are having throttle body issues and the fact that the codes related to the CVT issue can potentially be caused by metal shavings debris or even the ECM directly affecting the TCM and damage to the transmission.Read more

I own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has developed serious transmission problems that create a safety concern. When the transmission is cold, the vehicle slips between 1st and 2nd gear during acceleration. If I accelerate normally, the transmission slips and then engages with a hard bang. I must accelerate very slowly to avoid harsh e

This unexpected shifting behavior creates a safety risk when entering traffic, making turns, or driving in stop-and-go traffic. The vehicle has been properly maintained, including transmission fluid service at a Chevrolet dealership, but the problem continues and appears to be getting worse. I understand many GM 8-speed transmission owners have reported similar issues. Repair facility stated the exhaust roller follower/lifter needle bearings failed and fell out, causing the roller to seize and come off position, resulting in improper valve operation
... and cylinder malfunction. Vehicle lost proper engine performance and required major internal engine repair including camshaft, lifters/lash adjusters, and roller followers. Failure appears consistent with GM Preliminary Information bulletin PIP5847B for 2019–2024 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 2.7L L3B engines describing exhaust roller follower bearing failure and camshaft damage. Concern is that sudden valvetrain failure could result in loss of power, engine failure, or unsafe driving condition.Read more

Zero warning lights, dash clusters only allowing two options to show, oil temperature reading 200degrees Fahrenheit or higher, floor board feels like the firewall is almost in the interior of the vehicle and not engine port. Upon performing a thorough investigation of my own, the manifold, intake valve and wires are visibly damaged and BURNT, coil two is visibly damaged and was smoking. The batter

Additionally the thermostat and temperature gauges both are not giving out any signal or alert for faulty electrical activity. However the vehicle was so hot from only driving 6 miles from my house that the arm to hold the hood up was legit bending and folding as it become unusually soft from the hot intake. Transfer case has been clicking, as well as the intake sizzling like making repeated sounds of sparking. All of which began in a matter of four days. Incident date: May 4, 2026
I was driving my 2022 F150 during the 5/5/2026 Northern Colorado blizzard home to Nebraska with Slippery mode selected on Drive Train Selector and the truck started violently rattling and seized, causing catastrophic drivetrain failure with loss of power and perceptible steering control. I immediately pulled off I80 near my fueling stop destination and turned off the truck. I opened the hood to
... vent smoke and assess for fire. Once fire was not an issue, I started the ignition sequence to view any warning lights before starting motor. There were no warning lights or sensors indicating loss of fluids or abnormal temperatures noted in oil or transmission. The motor started and then I tried shifting through the transmission. It would engage but not move forward in any of the Drive Train Selector settings. I could travel in reverse and place in neutral, but I could not manually move forward or back when I pushed. I called Ford Roadside Assistance for towing and was flat-bedded to Sterling Korf Ford where catastrophic front end differential and assembly was noted. I had an experience leaving my work parking lot 2/27/2026, and have a malfunction warning on my vehicle phone app. That event was corrected by stopping and rotating through the Drive Train Selector switch out of 4x4 to 2H. I had 100K mile full service at Greeley, CO, Ford in July 2025 with all fluids flushed and filled and multipoint inspection. I feel this is a mechanical design flaw in the Integrated Wheel End (IWE). And with no dashboard warning to hint at impending catastrophic failure, this warrants immediate recall notice. I was fortunate not to be in heavy traffic when catastrophic failure happened, otherwise an accident would have occurred. I am a [XXX] career Emergency Physician and have enough experience to know when there is a system failure and a near miss. This is not an isolated human event leading to a sentinel event, but a system failure that must be fixed before lives are lost. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OFRead more

My 2019 Ford Ranger is equipped with the 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission that experiences hard/erratic shifting (as if it can't decide what gear it wants to be in), jerking/lunging especially in 1-2 gear when making a brief stop-and-go (stop sign or a crosswalk). The first couple time it happened, it felt like I got rearended or hit a curb.

Transmission shifts eradicate, jumps into gear (hard) Motor rpm raises high as transmission actually jumping , not smooth shifting into gear .

I parked in a lot for about 30 minutes while taking a short hike. When I returned and started the truck the dash was black, no gauges, no PRND indication, nothing and the warning lights in the mirrors stayed illuminated continuously. We were in a National monument and decided to try and get back to the visitor center for someplace safe. When I placed the vehicle in what should have been reverse th
... e vehicle rolled back but only because it was on a slope. When I shifted to where drive should be nothing happened. I tried several times as we were now in the traffic lane on a curve. I went completely back to park then cycled to drive and it worked. On the drive to the visitor center I noticed that the blinkers did not work either. Also, what I thought were manual gauges like the speedometer and fuel gauge did not work. When we got to the visitor center the vehicle would not shift into reverse from drive. I had to go back to park and then to reverse. I was able to get the vehicle working by disconnecting the negative battery cable for about 5 minutes. This just happened today and we are 1500 miles from home so the vehicle has not been inspected. If another car would have come around the corner while we were disabled they would have hit us as it is a one way loop so only one traffic lane that we were in.Read more

The vehicle experiences sudden loss of motive power during acceleration. Between 30–60 mph, the transmission fails to upshift correctly, causing the engine RPMs to spike to 5000 while the vehicle fails to gain speed. This creates a severe safety hazard when merging into high-speed traffic. Additionally, the infotainment system frequently blackouts and reboots while driving, and there are intermi
