Vehicle developed a check engine light and camshaft sensor fault at approximately 48,000 miles. Engine began making abnormal ticking noise and later entered reduced power/limp mode condition. Vehicle was initially evaluated by an authorized Porsche dealership, where damage to the camshaft trigger/tone wheel and internal mechanical concerns within the valvetrain were identified through diagnostic
... evaluation and bore scope inspection. Supporting documentation from the authorized Porsche dealership, including bore scope video and diagnostic findings, has been retained. A Porsche-focused independent repair facility later identified a fractured rocker arm within the valvetrain assembly as the root cause of the failure. The failed rocker arm caused contact damage to the camshaft and related components. Repair facility advised that further movement of the failed component could have resulted in catastrophic engine failure. Failed component has been retained and documented with photographs. Vehicle required major valvetrain and camshaft repair. Concern involves internal engine component failure at relatively low mileage with potential loss of power and severe engine damage.Read more

... n addition to the transmission failure, the contact stated that an abnormal, swishing sound would emit from the engine while driving at various speeds. Despite the failure, the contact managed to drive the vehicle back home at a low rate of speed. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA ID Number: 13V523000(Power Train). The contact was then informed if the failure were to occur for the second time, the dealer would cover the parts and labor fee under warranty. The vehicle was driven to the dealer where the transmission control module was repaired. Recently, the contact stated that the abnormal, swishing sound returned in addition to a slight hesitation upon depression of the accelerator pedal as a "Park Aid Fault" warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective Transmission Control Module(TCM). The independent mechanic notified the contact that the vehicle needed to be repaired before the TCM ruined other parts of the vehicle. The manufacturer was alerted of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.Read more

For the past several weeks, I have experienced an ongoing issue with my truck’s transmission shifting unpredictably. At random times, it becomes stuck in third gear, and while driving it has downshifted from fifth to third and then to first without warning. Even when stopped at a red light, the vehicle will sometimes remain in third gear. These incidents have created multiple safety concerns whi
... le driving and stopping. On 05/11/2026, my truck stopped completely in the middle of the road; fortunately, other drivers were able to stop and I was not hit, but I am concerned it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs. I also recently received a recall notice, which I was not expecting, and I had assumed this repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. I have contacted Ford regarding the recall repair, but I was advised they do not anticipate a remedy until July. Waiting several more months to drive a vehicle with ongoing drivetrain and downshifting problems feels unreasonable, and I am also concerned the condition may be causing additional damage to the transmission.Read more

The dual clutch transmission on my 2020 C8 Corvette has a diagnostic code of p1955. This was determined after the service light on the vehicle illuminated and it was taken to service at the dealership. Other codes that stored included p0868 and p0869 which indicate low hydraulic pressure and high hydraulic pressure respectively. The p1955 code is an internal fault that requires complete replace
... ment of the transmission according to GM service bulletins. This bulletin also advises that no repair attempts are to be made except for complete replacement. The vehicle has not shown any symptoms currently. Gears shift normally, there are no vibrations, etc. However, the dealership advised the transmission can go into limp mode, fail completely, or damage other components of the power train at any point. This issue is known to GM. They have investigated the matter since 2021 or earlier. There have been no recalls on the transmission despite the safety risks of sudden loss of power, being stranded, or catastrophic destructive failure without warning. These pose risks to occupants inside the vehicle and other vehicles or people on the road. My repeated questioning of this matter to the dealership and GM customer service have been ignored. They only advise the cost to replace is with the owner of the vehicle despite the root cause being at the level of engineering of the part. They are unwilling to admit this failure is at the level of a manufacturing/engineering defect as a financial cost mitigation strategy. The Issue with sudden failure of the transmission in these vehicles are widely known, investigated, and occurring at a high rate, especially in early model C8 Corvettes.Read more

After doing some grocery shopping for about 20–30 minutes, I returned to my vehicle, put it in drive, pressed the accelerator, and received no response for approximately 3 to 4 seconds. I then pressed the brake and experienced the exact same issue — no response from the system for about 3 to 4 seconds. I decided to shut the vehicle down, wait approximately 10 seconds, and restart it. After re
... starting, the brake responded immediately (as expected), but there was still a significant delay from the accelerator of about 3 to 4 seconds. I then drove to another parking lot approximately 0.2 miles down the road, parked the vehicle, walked around the store for another 20 minutes, and returned to the vehicle. At that point, everything worked as intended. The accelerator and braking systems both responded properly. On Monday, May 11, I went to the Carvana Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram location in [XXX] , where I was informed by the Service Manager that they would likely need to keep the vehicle for over a month to troubleshoot the issue with Chrysler before they could attempt a resolution, since the entire electrical system is effectively locked down and controlled by FCA electrical engineers. Also, a loaner was not an option if they kept the vehicle. Less than 5,000 miles on this vehicle with clearly a critical issue and almost no attempt to help the customer. Two different incidents involving the transmission. The first was going at a moderate speed, it’s a nine speed transmission. It shifted down into second gear, revving the engine horribly and throwing me forward somewhat. If this had happened at highway speeds it could have locked up the back wheels causing me to loose control of the vehicle. I have picture of the dash panel showing it shifted do

When I took it to the dealership they said since it wasn’t actively doing it they could not help me. It was still under warranty at this point. The second incident was when I was at a stop sign on an uphill grade. The service transmission light came on and the vehicle started to roll backwards very fast. I hit the brake but had nowhere to go but forward. I had to accelerate quite a bit just to get it to barely move forward and get out of traffic. Luckily I was near my house. I returned home and having some automotive knowledge I disconnected the battery and it reset the computer and transmission. Once again it drove normal. Had this happened in heavy traffic at high speeds I could have been stranded on a busy freeway. Once again the dealership said if it wasn’t actively doing the problem they couldn’t help me. I have since read their is a lawsuit pending against Nissan for these very issues, telling me I’m not the only one having these problems. The second incident occurred just a few weeks after the 5 years warranty was out. The vehicle still only has 45,000 miles on it. Both these defects could cause injury to myself or others.Read more

My 2024 Volkswagen Atlas began displaying multiple warning messages involving the engine, drive system, and powertrain. Warning messages included “Engine: error start/stop,” “Drive system, please service vehicle,” and other engine/powertrain alerts. The vehicle has had intermittent check engine lights, shaking, rough operation, abnormal noises, and repeated warning messages that disappear
... and then return. This is a serious safety issue. The vehicle has lost power, stopped working, failed while in use, and broken down. On one occasion, when I attempted to drive forward, the vehicle moved backward instead. The vehicle displays repeated drive system and engine warnings and becomes unreliable during operation. I have children and regularly transport them in this vehicle, and I do not believe this vehicle is safe to drive. The vehicle is still under factory warranty, but I have been unable to obtain timely warranty service. The Volkswagen dealership in Jackson, Mississippi advised they have severe staffing limitations and limited diagnostic availability, and I was told I need to take the vehicle to another state for service. I was also told by Volkswagen customer service that towing assistance may be available under warranty, but when connected with towing assistance I was advised coverage was only for a very limited distance 6 miles! I was quoted approximately $1,900 to tow the vehicle to the available Volkswagen service location in Louisiana. Because the vehicle is not safe or reliable to drive, I have also been forced to pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle while attempting to obtain warranty repairs. I am submitting this complaint regarding Ford Recall 26S28 involving my 2015 Ford F-150. Ford has acknowledged a defect serious enough to issue a formal safety recall; however, there is currently no repair remedy available and no clear timeline for when repairs will be completed. As a result, affected owners are left operating vehicles with an acknowledged defect or are left without reliable trans
... portation for an indefinite period of time. I contacted Ford Motor Company and requested interim transportation assistance or a temporary loaner vehicle while awaiting an approved repair solution. Ford denied this request, stating that my vehicle is outside warranty coverage due to age and mileage. Ford also advised that customers should retain receipts in case a reimbursement program becomes available in the future. My concern is that this situation places consumers in an unreasonable position. Although Ford has acknowledged the defect through a federal recall, owners are expected to absorb transportation costs indefinitely while no remedy currently exists. The issue is directly related to the recall condition, not ordinary warranty coverage or routine maintenance. I believe this situation raises concerns regarding the adequacy and timeliness of Ford’s response to Recall 26S28 and the hardship imposed on affected consumers during the unresolved recall period. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the handling of this recall, including the lack of available remedies, absence of repair timelines, and lack of interim consumer assistance for affected vehicle owners.Read more

I am filing a safety complaint regarding Safety Recall 01C (NHTSA 25V-011) and the handling of my vehicle by both the dealership and Stellantis. Despite this, the dealership concluded that the PTU was not the cause and instead replaced the rear differential. I repeatedly requested written documentation explaining how the PTU was ruled out and how the rear differential was determined to be the root cause. This was not clearly provided. Additionally, the recall remained marked as “incomplete” for over a month while the vehicle was in the dealership’s possession. Immediately after I escalated the issue to corporate, the recall was suddenly marked “complete,” without clear explanation or supporting documentation. I was also not clearly informed that the Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM) had been replaced. I do not know: When the DTCM was replaced relative to testing Whether recall testing was performed with a faulty DTCM Whether the new DTCM was properly updated under Recall 01C Whether testing was repeated after replacement If recall validation was performed using a faulty DTCM, this raises concerns that the PTU testing procedure may have been invalid. SUBJECT: URGENT COMPLAINT: Deceptive Practices/Misrepresentation & Services Not Rendered (Woodhouse Ford of Omaha) I. Actionable Safety Issue Summary This complaint concerns fraudulent billing and dangerous misrepresentation by Woodhouse Ford of Omaha, which claimed a vehicle's 3rd rack and pinion system was "safe" on 2/19/2026 after a known safety issue, following a previous failure. They further
... charged $219.22 for unrendered/improper ABS programing repairs that was not successful because the electric rack and pinion is defective on 3/5/2026 and fabricated invoice records to shift liability. II. Parties Involved •Consumer: [XXX] •Dealer/Service Provider: Woodhouse Ford of Omaha, Service Manager Jeremy Sullivan, Technician Anthony Rubio. •Financial Institution: First National Bank of Omaha (Regulated by OCC). III. Nature of the Dispute 1.Safety Hazard/Misrepresentation (2/19/2026): Service Manager Jeremy Sullivan and Tech Anthony Rubio stated the vehicle’s rack and pinion was "safe" despite a prior failure. This misrepresentation has left me with a vehicle that has had the rack and pinion fail or require replacement three times in under a year. 2.Services Not Rendered (3/5/2026): Charged $219.22 for "programming the ABS module" which was not rendered or not performed correctly. 3.Fabricated Documentation: Woodhouse Ford created fraudulent service invoices stating I diagnosed the ABS fault and declined further diagnosis. This is an attempt to evade liability for ongoing, dangerous defects. IV. Regulatory Violations & Requested Action The described actions violate consumer protection laws, including: •Dodd-Frank UDAAP (12 USC § 5536): Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices. •Fair Credit Billing Act (15 USC § 1666): Billing error/services not received. •Regulation E (12 CFR 1005.11): Procedures for resolving errors. I am filing a safety complaint regarding my Cadillac Escalade due to a transmission/valve body failure occurring at approximately 77,100 miles. The vehicle began experiencing transmission-related issues including harsh shifting, hesitation, abnormal operation, and unsafe drivability concerns. The vehicle was diagnosed by the repair facility as requiring a transmission valve body replacement. I w
... as then informed that the required valve body is currently on national backorder with General Motors, and my vehicle has now been out of service for over two months with no estimated repair completion date available. After researching the issue, I discovered numerous other GM owners reporting similar transmission valve body failures involving Cadillac Escalades and other GM full-size SUVs and trucks equipped with similar transmissions. The widespread nature of the failures and the nationwide parts shortage raise serious concerns regarding reliability and potential safety defects. This issue creates a significant safety concern because transmission failure can affect acceleration, shifting, drivability, and the vehicle’s ability to operate safely in traffic conditions. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate these transmission valve body failures and the related nationwide parts shortage affecting GM vehicles.Read more

The vehicle drove normally earlier in the day with no major drivability concerns. Later, reverse gear suddenly stopped functioning and the engine would rev abnormally without the vehicle moving properly while in reverse. Shortly afterward, while driving, the vehicle displayed the warning message “Reduce Acceleration – Drive with Care” and began losing acceleration and propulsion. The vehicle
... would not accelerate normally and later could not exceed approximately 20-35 MPH. The condition created a significant safety concern due to sudden loss of acceleration and propulsion while operating in traffic. The engine RPM would increase abnormally while the vehicle failed to respond properly in drive and reverse. An independent mechanic inspected the transmission and found diagnostic trouble codes P0747, P0776, and P0700 related to transmission pressure control and valve body operation. Inspection also revealed significant metal contamination, sludge, and clutch material inside the transmission pan and filter. Reverse and 2nd gear were determined to be failed/burnt internally. The vehicle was later transported to an authorized GMC dealer for inspection. Dealer confirmed reverse gear would not engage even after adding transmission fluid. Vehicle is currently available for inspection.Read more
