When driving home one night the dash board in the car all of a sudden hade a lot of warning lights come on. I brought it to my mechanic to have a look at it and he suggested to change the spark plugs and the coils which was done and he cleared the codes. About two days later I went to go to work and once again all the warning lights on the the dash board come on and it wouldn't drive over 5 MPH.
... The mechanic went deeper into the problem he said it was cylinder # 3 that had a misfire and the fuel injectors needed to be changed which was done($1,000 later). A week went buy no lights on the dash came on but it has a rough start and when you get to about 40 MPH the car starts to hastate to move. this time i brought it Rick Case Honda to have it looked at and they are telling me it is now the head gasket on cylinder # 3 has a hair line crack and needs to be changed ($7,400) To remove and replace the head gasket. This happened over multiple weeks between bowering cars waiting for parts. Now i have find a way to pay a $7,400 billRead more

I towed the vehicle to an independant transmission show as I was 50 miles from my local Ford dealer.ntact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the drive shaft flexible coupling was no longer present. The mechanic said that this is a known Ford issue and to have it towed there for the warranty/recall fix under NHTSA Campaign #19V767000 and #17S15 (Power Train) and the supercede Campaign #19S38. The vehicle had received an early version of the at-the-time fix of an updated flexible coupler. When contacting the Ford dealer, I was told that there were no recalls noted for my VIN. I contacted Ford, and was told that since I already had the "one-time permanant fix" that I was not eligble for any repairs under NHTSA 19S38 (which now specifies that that the flexible coupling is to be replaced with a new u-joint shaft connection). I thought safety recalls don't expire and the latest fix should be applicable/availble for this vehicle.Read more

I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding an electrical system failure on my 2021 Chevrolet Silverado with approximately 61,000 miles. I brought the vehicle to Taylor Grubaugh Chevrolet of Waynesville after the check engine light illuminated. The dealership diagnosed a premature wiring harness failure caused by chafing. They also stated that this issue is known to affect multiple GM vehi
... cles and is documented in Technical Service Bulletin 21 NA 149. Wiring harness failure presents a significant safety concern. A compromised harness can lead to erratic electrical behavior, reduced engine performance, stalling, or sudden loss of power while driving. With that the concern a possible vehicle malfunction or losing power in traffic came to light. The dealerships service department confirmed the problem, verified the wiring harness failure, & referenced the applicable GM technical bulletin. The vehicle was inspected by the authorized Chevrolet dealership. GM declined to cover the repair. No police, insurance, or other third party inspections have been conducted. Despite acknowledging that this is a documented & recurring issue across GM models, the GM informed me that the repair would not be covered under warranty or recall. At only 61,000 miles, a wiring harness failure due to chafing is not consistent with normal wear & tear & instead suggests a premature defect. Given that this is a known and documented defect, I believe it should be recalled. After further research, I discovered that this issue is far from isolated. There are more than 1,500 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau and approximately 800 complaints submitted to NHTSA reporting the same or similar wiring harness failures across GM vehicles. The volume of complaints strongly suggests a widespread defect that may pose ongoing safety risks to consumers.Read more

The valve body on these cars are useless. Driving down a highway and cant shift out of 3rd gear almost had a car re-end me. I am writing to report a safety defect regarding the 8-speed automatic transmission in my 2017 Toyota Sienna. This is an extremely common issue plaguing Hyundai & Kia vehicles with the Theta III 2.5L Turbo engine, Such as Kia K5 GT, Hyundai Sante Fe, Hyundai Santa Cruz, & Hyundai Sonata N-Line. Its a failing ITM (integrated thermal management) unit or otherwise known as an ITMS unit. There is a rod within the ITM that prevents proper control of the flow of cooling the oil and engine coolant of the engine
... . Results in Cooling issues, such as a cold lower radiator hose while the engine is hot, or 'limp mode' during acceleration, that causes a sudden loss of power while trying to merge on the expressway. There has been other Kia models and years that have had TSB's related to fixing this issue, but Hyundai has released nothing. I have uploaded an example of one of the TSB's that do not apply to my car. Technical symptoms often include: Fans running 100% full duty (high) while the lower radiator hose stays cool. Or Fuel dilution or a 'rich' running engine. Because the engine is overcooling that keeps the car's fueling rich and in a open loop mode affecting emissions and contaminating oil. Personal Details of exactly what happened when i noticed mine was failing. I ran home on my lunch break, and while accelerating on a ramp to get up on a highway, my car started beeping and flashing "Engine Overheated" and i immediately let off the gas with preparation to pull over. The second i left off the gas, the coolant temp within 1-2 seconds went from a little over 3/4 the way up the gauge back to normal a little below half temp. I resumed driving a 3 mile drive back to work, with it showing normal temps the rest of the way. I popped the hood when i got to work to see if coolant was low, and it was completely normal, a little over halfway between the min/max lines. The car continues to run hot, often with the cooling fans running at 100%.Read more

In the over 3 years since the service bulletin was released, Eaton, Peterbilt, Paccar, and Cummins(engine manufacturers) have failed to develop adjusted maintenance intervals, added inspections, or additional filtration to prevent contamination of the transmissions air system. Worst dealership my husband and I ever dealt with. We purchased a 2019 Nissan XD Titan Diesel with warranty. Two days after purchase, the check engine light came on. I called Spencer from the service department to let them know. They took the truck the very next day; it was some issue with the gas tank, so the part was back-ordered. After getting that fixed, the check engine light still never went
... off. I questioned the dealership; all they could say was it was probably a dirty sensor. Then, not even two weeks later, I was leaving a doctor's appointment on the interstate when it threw up a code for low coolant, saying it was about to go into limp mode. So, I made it to the dealership's service station. They said it was okay and couldn't find anything wrong with it, then told me to just keep driving it until it broke down or delete it if it was them. They said, 'You know, we don't deal with a lot of diesel, so it may need to go to another dealership.' Then, two months went by, and we had more issues. We ended up back at the dealership to find out that it now had an oil leak that was quoted to us as a $14,000 job for parts and labor. We also had extended warranty and powertrain, but Spencer failed to file the warranty claim correctly the first time and filed under the wrong warranty, so they denied it. We had to call management to get them to check why, and the problem was that the service department didn't know how to file the correct warranty claim. After that was submitted, my husband asked Spencer directly and the service department if they did rentals through our warranty. They said they don't give rentals at that dealership. Note that we found out later through our warranty that they did pay, but we weren't given that chance. After picking up the vehicle, the check engine light was still on !!! there’s so much more details to the story!!!!!Read more

I am filing a complaint regarding a major CVT transmission failure in my 2015 Subaru Crosstrek at approximately 117,318 miles. Prior to failure, there were no warning lights, dashboard messages, or significant indications of impending transmission failure. The only noticeable symptom was a slight whistling noise coming from the vehicle shortly before the transmission issue became severe. The sudd
... en nature of the failure created a safety concern because the vehicle’s ability to accelerate and respond reliably while driving was compromised without meaningful warning. A sudden loss of reliable transmission function creates potential risk when merging, accelerating, or operating in traffic. The issue has been confirmed by a Subaru dealership, which quoted approximately $10,000 for transmission replacement. Subaru of America was contacted directly and declined assistance despite known widespread CVT issues in Subaru vehicles of this generation and prior warranty extensions issued for CVT-related problems. The vehicle has not been modified or involved in any collision related to this failure. The failed transmission/component is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has been inspected by a Subaru dealership service department. I believe this transmission failure reflects a broader pattern of premature CVT failures affecting 2013–2015 Subaru Crosstrek vehicles and warrants further investigation due to the safety implications and financial burden placed on consumers after sudden drivetrain failure without warning.Read more

DEFECT DESCRIPTION My 2020 Subaru Crosstrek has been diagnosed with diagnostic trouble code P2757 (Torque Converter Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control Circuit Performance), which my authorized Subaru 802 Subaru retailer in Vermont has confirmed is caused by a defective CVT Control Valve Body. Subaru of America has acknowledged this exact defect in Technical Service Bulletin 16-156-25R (revi

This bulletin confirms that Subaru is aware of the design flaw in the original valve body and has developed a permanent engineering fix. WARRANTY EXTENSION DISPARITY Subaru of America issued a CVT Warranty Extension on June 30, 2025 (Retailer Bulletin 16-155-25R, revised 07/14/25) extending CVT coverage from the original 5 years/60,000 miles to 10 years/100,000 miles for certain 2019–2020MY vehicles. The 2019 Crosstrek (identical FB20/TR580 drivetrain) being included in the extension. 2. The 2020 Impreza (identical FB20/TR580 drivetrain) being included in the extension. 3. TSB 16-156-25R explicitly listing the 2020 Crosstrek as an affected vehicle with the same valve body defect. This exclusion appears arbitrary and inconsistent. Owners of the 2020 Crosstrek are being denied warranty coverage for a documented design defect that Subaru has acknowledged and corrected through a TSB, and for which owners of vehicles with the identical powertrain (same engine, same CVT) are receiving extended warranty protection. SAFETY CONCERN DTC P2757 indicates a failure in the torque converter clutch pressure control circuit. This defect can result in unexpected transmission behavior including hesitation, shuddering, loss of power deliveryRead more

My vehicle has suffered a Transmission Control Valve Failure (stuck open). This is the exact mechanical failure detailed in GM’s Nationwide Recall N24245441-02. It is deeply disheartening and illogical that my vehicle—which shares the exact year, make, model, and identical mechanical failure detailed in the safety bulletin—is excluded from the recall purely due to an arbitrary VIN filtering

There is a hard shift after the car has been parked. Bought the car with 6 miles on it, now has 35,000. This issue is not new, we have had it into 2 different dealerships, and neither "were able to duplicate the issue". It is increasingly getting worse so it will be going back to the shop yet again.

In January of 2026 the vehicle had a 4WD system unavailable/ Service required message pop up. It would come on and go back off. At the time there was also a whining/ grinding noise present especially at high speeds on the highway along with vibrations. We had the vehicle checked with. Code reader and was told it was sending a false code, and that a fuse probably needed replaced for it to go off. T
