While driving on the interstate we were exiting to pull into a rest area while slowing down the rear wheels momentarily locked up and the truck downshifted hard and abruptly with that happening the check engine light came on along with a decreased power message. We pulled into a parking spot during so we tried to shift into reverse and it didn’t want to shift into reverse, we tried this for a wh
... ile. We finally got it into reverse and we were able to back out of the parking spot. When we tried shifting to drive we encountered the same issue. The vehicle did not want to go into drive. Once finally into drive it did not want to shift into any higher gears. It was essentially stuck in one of the gears. We made it to a GMC dealer on the next exit -we drove on the side of the interstate to get there- when we arrived we had them run the codes and they told us it was a transmission control valve which GMC has had a major recall on. While we had this “fixed” at a different dealership previously in march of 2025 it only entailed “updating the software” involving the transmission control valve. We had to leave the truck at the GMC dealer that we were able to ‘limp’ to in Crestview FL. We’ve been told our truck now needs an entirely new transmission that is going to cost $7,000. We had a similar issue right after the “software update for the transmission control valve” on march 20, 2025. The software was updated roughly a week before that incident which seemed to have cleared itself because it was momentarily and never happened again until now. Our safety was at risk because we had to drive on the side of the interstate to get to a shop because we were out of town and a tow truck was going to cost between 600-1000 dollars to get home.Read more

Scared about the power loss and not sure what my mechanic will find. This car should be included in the recalls for both issues. I am super disappointed in Jeep. There are many thousands of Ford Escape owners with this same issue. The shifter knob will not shift out of park in hot weather, sometimes taking 20 to 30 minutes for the vehicle's interior to cool sufficiently to shift into drive. Ford is ignoring this problem. I pulled the car into garage, and realized it's not inside enough. So I moved the car forward, but forgot to place the shift to P position. With the shift in D position, I shut off the engine, opened the door, ready to get out. I did not notice the car was moving backward, until the open door hit the garage frame. I file a claim with my insurance, had the front door replaced in a local body shop.

I did have this issue in my other two cars, I occasionally forgot put the shift from D position to P position, but the car did not move. This issue - a car can move freely without driver's awareness - is a serious and dangerous issue. If this happens in the street, a serious crash can occur. Contacted the Chevrolet dealership I bought my vehicle from and they indicated this is a common issue and the part is on back order. This is a very dangerous risk to safety and should be covered under a recall. I've seen where GMC issued a recall for the exact same issue, but only for Tahoes with 6.2L V8 engine; Mine is 5.3L. ... ly have. It is currently at the dealer for the fourth time about the issue. Currently claiming engine issues but the engine isnt even on when it experiences the problem. (PHEV) Has been occurring since purchase but very intermittent. Could not reproduce until enough trial and error when it did occur that I could reliably reproduce it. During my own testing and diagnostic is how I found it can roll freely in the wrong directions and is much more dangerous than just shaking was. Description: Within the first few minutes of the vehicle being turned on it can shudder against the brakes when stopped. It can stop responding to throttle inputs and roll freely in directions other than the selected gear while throttle input is ignored. It will start responding again after some time, I dont know what makes it start responding again. Does not show errors or messages. Reproduce: Plug in car, let it charge all the way to 100%. Unplug and immediately start car, move forward or backward a few feet at a time. Shaking against brakes will start, and at that time if you let off brakes and attempt to move car it can shake loose of clutch and roll freely. The cars behind me had to quickly change lanes behind me to avoid rear end collision and I finally pulled over to the shoulder of the highway but it was a very narrow shoulder so my safety and the safety of those driving around were compromised because they could have easily resulted in a high speed rear-end collision that could have been fatal and the location of my car on the shoulder was not safe and I could have been side-swipped waiting for a friend to come get me and for me to move my car off hat narrow shoulder. I was frantic and very emotionally distressed by this incident because all the maintenance on the car was up to date and there was no check engine light on in the car prior to this incident. The unexpected and decelleration and inability to compensate on the highway was very unsafe. I have taken my car to the delearship and they have yet to address my engine issues or the safety concerns. The rep actually laughed while I was recounting the events. The vehicle has also shown other concerning symptoms: shaking when idling, jerking when stopping or accelerating, and occasional grinding noises. My local Nissan dealer eventually reported a broken transmission mount but did not find engine or transmission codes. I am very concerned that my symptoms (stalling, oil pressure light, grinding on restart) are consistent with the open recall for engine bearings on this model. The dealer admitted they currently have no guidance or remedy from Nissan for this recall, so no proper inspection or fix could be performed. Safety Hazard: This is a serious safety issue. The car stalled unexpectedly in traffic, leaving me without power. I was unable to restart it, and I feared the engine could fail completely at higher speeds, which could put me and others at risk. Concern: Nissan has not yet provided dealers with instructions or remedies for this recall, leaving owners with unsafe vehicles on the road. The check engine warning light and several other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the sensor kit and fuel level sensor were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a different dealer, ValMark Chevrolet in New Braunfels, TX, where it was diagnosed that the engine control module, gateway module, service brake light and steep sensor had failed. The shaft sensor, gasket, and passenger’s side rear axle were replaced. The dealer test-drove the vehicle and informed the contact that the codes were cleared. Afterward, the contact was informed that the codes were not reset. Most recently, an abnormal sound was coming from the drive line between one and nine miles per hour, intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired after the most recent failure. The contact informed the dealer that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The dealer diagnosed that the overhead console needed to be replaced. The vehicle was replaced. The driver's seat frame seized and was replaced. Took my vehicle into a local Ford dealership and told them that there was rattling coming out of the engine bay. Provided the service advisor with multiple videos as well as took him for a drive to show him the sound. Advised that it happens at startup and on deceleration after the turbo has spooled. These failures follow the classic symptoms of excessive exhaust smoke and MIL illumination that INFINITI has explicitly linked to premature turbocharger bearing wear in the February 2025 “limited emission warranty extension” for 2016–2018 Q50 and 2017–2018 Q60 vehicles. INFINITI’s bulletin states the company “is conducting a warranty extension to Full Useful Life (FUL) of 10 years or 120,000 miles” for select turbo assemblies where white smoke/oil-leak with MIL-on requires turbo replacement, and explains the reason as “possibility that the turbocharger bearing may leak engine oil internally due to premature wear.” INFINITI’s public owner-facing campaign page likewise describes this extension and its terms (10 years/120,000 miles), including reimbursement for qualifying prior repairs. Infiniti Assist While my current mileage exceeds 120,000 miles, my car has required two full turbo replacements before 100,000 miles and now requires a third at 143,000 miles. Randomly, the car have a delay of approximately 2 seconds when I hit the gas pedal. It happened multiple times, 2-3 times per day. The gas pedal can pe pressed to the floor, it won’t react. The Entune 3.0 System governs navigation, calls etc. The system on my car has been replaced 4 times and still does not work. This is a life safety issue as the system grabs phone calls while driving without being able to answer. It also makes it frequently impossible to use hands free on the phone as it grabs calls. We brought the car to the dealership for oil change and recall fixes. After picking the vehicle up, the transmission failed the next day. The dealership nor Ford customer service have been any help and claim that they didn’t do anything that could have impacted the transmission. They are wanting us to pay $13k to replace the transmission
