The transmission started slipping at 70,000 miles on the Altima, even after getting a preventative transmission service at 30,000 miles. A mechanic revealed a judder code, which means the transmission will stop working within weeks. A repair would cost more than the car is worth. My wife could have been stranded in traffic. This is unacceptable. No warning lights appeared on the dash.

Recall was in 1/2025 and there is no solution and parts in sight as of 10/1/2025. Factory and Dealers have no idea as to when a fix is coming. I think this should have been fixed by now. I can not drive my vehicle because the transmission may fail and maybe cause a wreck or leave me stranded. Selling it does me no good, I am selling a defective vehicle that could crash and possible kill someone an
... d that is against the law. Even though auto dealers are selling these defective vehicles. They should recall them and pay the customer high retail market value, so consumer may purchase another vehicle with minimal cost to him. The problem listed below. Improperly seated input shaft snap ring in the two-speed PowerTransfer Unit ("PTU"). An input shaft snap ring that is not fully seated may allow uncontrolled movement of the input shaft inward. Uncontrolled movement leads to the potential for wear to the range shift sleeve, spline damage, and / or range fork damage which can cause an unexpected loss of motive power or loss of PARK function while stationary. A loss of motive power can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. A loss of PARK function can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. Repair Description FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to reprogram the Drivetrain Control Module ("DTCM") with new software to detect, and monitor for excessive wear within a PTU. If a PTU failure is confirmed by the software, FCA US will replace the PTU. FCA US will provide a Warranty Extension (FCA campaign ID #XX1) for all impacted customers experiencing messaging related to the defect to replace the PTU. Warranty Extension terms are unlimited years/unlimited mileage. Recall Status Incomplete but repair parts are not availableRead more

Vehicle was checked by local dealer and stated repair code 14M02 needed to be completed. 10 year extended warranty was concluded in June, 2025, but this is a safety concern. A couple of days ago, I started hearing a faint whining noise coming from my vehicle when I pressed on the gas pedal. When I brought my vehicle into the dealership today for my 100,000 mile service, I advised them of such. After raising the concern, I was told that there was an issue with my car's transmission and that it was not covered by the warranty as the warranty for that part ended at 75,
... 000 miles. After looking up this issue and the cost to replace, I learned that this transmission issue is a prevalent issue with 2017-2021 highlanders with over 60,000 miles. This issue is so prevalent that there is a huge backorder for parts needed to fix this specific issue. I have owned multiple Toyotas because of their reliability. I had a 4 runner that I used past 225,000 miles with no issues. The fact that I'm having an issue with a transmission issue with a vehicle with less than 100,000 miles on it that I always service every 5,000 miles at the Toyota dealership I bought the vehicle at is huge red flag and is making me reconsider my allegiance to the Toyota brand. The dealer has quoted me a price of $7,500 to fix the issue. I believe that Toyota should make this right as it is clear that this is a known and prevalent issue with the highlanders. In fact, I'm surprised given the number of people complaining online that it is not the subject of a recall. As a lawyer, this sounds like an issue ripe for a class action. That being said, I am hoping that Toyota will work with me and pay for the repair and/or furnish me with a new car credit.Read more

I own a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport that has had repeated premature failures of critical components. At ~52,000 miles the water pump failed and was replaced along with coolant and belts. Less than 21,000 miles later (at ~73,000 miles) the water pump has failed again, with coolant leakage and a burning coolant smell. Ford has issued TSB 23-2104 acknowledging coolant leaks at the water pump/hose connecti
... on, yet no recall or extended coverage has been offered. This is not the only issue. My alternator has also failed twice and required multiple replacements in under 4 years of ownership. Having two major components (water pump and alternator) fail repeatedly within such a short period clearly shows a systemic defect, not normal wear and tear. Safety risks: coolant leaks can drip or vaporize onto hot engine components, creating a fire hazard. Alternator failure risks sudden loss of power and stalling in traffic. Both are unacceptable in a vehicle this new. The dealership confirmed the latest water pump diagnosis and quoted over $1,000 in labor alone, placing an unreasonable financial burden on the owner. This is the second water pump and second alternator within 73,000 miles. Ford and its dealers know this is an ongoing issue in Bronco Sports, as confirmed by widespread owner reports and TSBs, but continue to deny responsibility. A recall or customer satisfaction program should be issued to address these repeated failures.Read more

We initially chose this Honda vehicle as we are Honda owners and valued their reliability. While driving with my six year old son in the car our HRV it started shaking anytime I accelerated. No check engine lights or other lights came on but I turned back home and drove my husbands car before taking my car into the shop where they diagnosed it as a CVT transmission failure. There was a recall issu

It did not and this transmission failed, our case for good will assistance was denied and we are left with a $9,000.00 problem in addition to the nearly $7,000.00 still owed on this vehicle that we purchased in 2021 (we are second . Any Honda owners looking to purchase the 2018 HRV should consider their probability of failure due to the CVT transmission that no longer falls under their extended recall warranty. It really is a disappointment to know that Honda does not standby their product seeing as their customers invest thousands of dollars into these purchases. In summary Honda acknowledged this CVT defect, extended coverage, and even performed their product update on my vehicle. Despite that, my CVT failed prematurely from the same issue, only months outside the time window but far under the mileage limit. Honda denied assistance for reasons unrelated to the defect itself (service history and number of Hondas in their system), refused to provide a written denial, and blocked escalation to higher review. The vehicle was shifting harshly and my wheels were experiencing lock up while in motion which was very dangerous. They are having a hard time obtaining a new transmission and also advised me I would be responsible for the cost of this replacement when they get a new transmission. At this point I am not willing to risk mine or my families life by driving this car after they try to replace transmission. At approximately 39,000 miles, my 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar developed a coolant leak from the front lower crossover in the engine valley. A repair facility confirmed the issue and recommended replacement of the front upper and lower crossovers, water pump, and hoses. The repair estimate is $2,727. This problem is a known defect in other Jaguar Land Rover vehicles (crossover/elbow coolant
... leaks) that were subject to recalls and lawsuits, but my VIN is not currently included. The defect creates a serious safety risk: coolant leaks can cause sudden engine overheating, loss of power, or engine failure while driving, putting occupants and other drivers at risk. The issue has been diagnosed and confirmed by a service center. Prior to the diagnosis, I observed low coolant levels and warning messages. I believe this is part of a widespread defect affecting the 3.0L supercharged engine, and I urge NHTSA to investigate whether 2020 Velar vehicles should be included in recall coverage.Read more

When I brought it into the dealership, they could not find anything wrong with it. Additionally my trucks software was up to date and not lacking any updates. I don’t drive this truck very far and only drive about 150 miles a week. A rear wheel lock up of this magnitude at this low of miles is concerning. I’m not rough on the truck by any means. It’s more so a family vehicle than a hauler. I have got the truck serviced 3 times since I bought it for regular maintenance so that’s not an issue either. ... ian that they have been seeing this alot. Of course my warranty is gone even the extended one that I purchased when I purchased this car new. So to fix this manufacturer's issue will now cost me $4,000 dollars to fix. But I was told the torque converter has been updated so I shouldn't have this issue again. So they know this is a problem which i assume is the reason for the updated converter so why isn't this a recall.Read more

There is a recall for certain VW models because the key may be removed when the vehicle is not in Park position. There is an issue with the micro switch mechanism, resulting in an error code. There is a wide recall for many models, except the 2019 Jetta. My dealer confirmed this is the SAME issue as the recall, but my car is not listed under it. The recall should be expanded for other models.
... Compliance Recall 37L5 – Shift Lever Micro Switch What vehicles are included in Compliance Recall 37L5? Certain 2015-2018 model year Volkswagen Golf and Golf SportWagen vehicles. What is the concern for Compliance Recall 37L5? Over time, a build-up of silicate on the shift lever micro switch contacts can make it possible to remove the key from the ignition switch without the shift lever being in the "P" Park position. This makes the vehicle noncompliant with 49 CFR 571.114 Standard No. 114 Theft protection and rollaway prevention. If the ignition key is removed without the shift lever being in the "P" Park position, there is a risk that the vehicle may roll away, resulting in a crash that could injure people and damage property. What is the repair for Compliance Recall 37L5? When parts become available, dealers will install an additional switch and circuit board. The recall repair will be FREE.Read more

Component/System Failure: The 10-speed automatic transmission failed prematurely at only 75,000 miles. The transmission is still in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. The symptoms include harsh shifting between gears, particularly into lower gears, followed by significant lag and then abrupt jumping/engagement. This is consistent with numerous other complaints filed regarding t
... he 10-speed transmission in this model year. Safety Risk: The unpredictable transmission behavior created dangerous driving conditions. The harsh shifting and lag followed by sudden acceleration made it impossible to safely merge into traffic, navigate intersections, or maintain consistent speed on highways. The erratic gear engagement put myself, my passengers, and other drivers at risk as the vehicle's response became completely unreliable. The truck is currently unsafe to drive. Professional Confirmation: Yes, the problem has been confirmed by Aamco Transmission on Sept 17, 2025. They diagnosed it as transmission failure requiring complete replacement. Manufacturer/Other Inspection: No inspection by Ford has occurred to date. Warning Indicators: No warning lights, check engine lights, or dashboard messages appeared prior to or during the failure. The only symptoms were the physical driving symptoms described above—harsh shifting, significant lag, and abrupt gear engagement—which began approximately gradually over the past month and progressively worsened until the vehicle became unsafe to operate.Read more
