For new model year 20 20, and 2021 Ford developed an all-wheel-drive vehicle. This is not a four-wheel-drive vehicle. It is an all-wheel-drive vehicle that you can select manually into four-wheel-drive, but it has an automatic system that engages and disengages the front drive axle through a comp component called an FADA. Front axle disconnect actuator. Ford has problems with that actuator going
... bad to the point that they put out a technical service bulletin to fix this unsafe design TSB 23-2174 dated 24 July 2023. They replace the drive axle and this component and make the car full time all wheel drive. The reason was because the actuator would fail and it would damage the front differential when it locked up on the highway. My car is in Service right now getting it replaced over $3000 and it just clicked past the drivetrain warranty. Now, unfortunately, the car is redesigned into something that it wasn’t meant to be. For highway speeds it now affects fuel economy and design is different from what they sold us. It is unsafe and it is like a ticking time bomb they they’re exploding on the highway. They redesigned the cars after this to four-wheel-drive and you have to manually selected into four-wheel-drive. Ford is reworking all the parts and they’re trying to cover it up.Read more

My 2022 Ford E-Transit 350 has had repeated safety and performance failures. The vehicle has an open recall on the rearview camera, which caused a police incident when I hit another car because the camera was not working properly. On several occasions, the vehicle has also completely shut down and would not start at all, leaving me stranded. The van often loses acceleration, gets stuck at 20 mph,

I have police reports, medical certificates (including 12 days of medical leave), dealer invoices, and photos fully documenting everything.Read more

Transmission failed on a major parkway. A loud noise was heard and engine over-revved. Car started to vibrate and no forward gears worked. My vehicle transmission gear selector went out I believe. While having my mechanic try to see if something was happening with transmission, the vehicle was placed into neutral and the tires started spinning as if it were in drive. I have seen numerous complaints of the same issue in many online forums but ford has offered no help. After driving >2000 miles or about a month, I could hear a loud, grunting/grinding noise when accelerating aggressively from 1st to 2nd gear when on EV or gas mode. Brought the vehicle at the dealership service department 4 times already, each time MAZDA Headquarters in California confirmed that this is a known and documented condition. According to Mazda, the grunt noise you’re hearing when the
... vehicle shifts from first to second gear under medium to aggressive throttle is considered normal operation. It has been determined that this does not affect the drivability or reliability of the vehicle, and it is safe to drive. The transmission is operating as designed and performing within normal parameters. Mazda is continuing to collect data on this condition as part of their ongoing commitment to improvement. However, I totally disagreed to their answer and that the truth is that they don't know how to fix it, unless tearing down completely the transmission to find out what the cause is! I feel it is a safety problem as explained by a top transmission repair shop: "In most cases, a loud, grunting or grinding noise when accelerating from 1st to 2nd gear would likely be considered a defect that substantially impairs the vehicle's use and could also affect safety, particularly under the context of Oregon's Lemon Law. Here's why: •Impact on Use: Grinding and grunting noises suggest that the transmission is not functioning properly, according to Top Notch Transmissions. This makes the vehicle less reliable and less enjoyable to drive. If the problem persists or worsens, it can hinder the vehicle's ability to operate safely and effectively, potentially leading to hard or delayed shifting, or even transmission failure."Read more

I am a loyal Ford customer reporting a serious issue with my 2019 Ford Edge, which has about 53,000 miles and is equipped with the 8F35 transmission. The vehicle is experiencing shuddering, bucking, and jerking during acceleration, especially at speeds up to 35 mph. In addition, the auto Start/Stop accumulator switch no longer functions. These issues directly match the conditions described in Tech
... nical Service Bulletin 21-2081 and Safety Recall 20S49, yet my VIN is not included in the Safety recall because the part was not assembled at the Oakville plant. I strongly believe this exclusion is unfair and irrelevant—my vehicle has the same defective part and is experiencing the same failures. Ford now recommends replacing the torque converter because the lock-up clutch broke apart, which means metal debris already entered the transmission. This is not a minor issue, and I do not want a temporary or partial fix. I am requesting a full replacement of the transmission—not a refurbished unit—as this damage is systemic and not my fault. These problems have created unsafe driving conditions and have already cost me approximately $7,000 in repairs. I’ve paid $1,300 out of pocket, and while Ford has offered about $2,700 discount, I am still left with about $4,000 balance for a defect I did not cause.Read more

I purchased a new 2026 palisade on 8/30/2025. The day after I purchased it I started noticing the car jumping/bucking/hesitating to get up to speed, also it jumps and jolts around different speeds. I brought the car back to the dealership 2 days later for them to look at it. After explaining the problem they drove the car by a tech and also the service manager, with the car being so new. After rev
... iew of the car, the service person told us verbally that the service manager did feel some hesitation in the car but that the car was so new that it is most likely caused by TAP tables (the car learning how a driver drives). After 30 days of the driving the car, it did not get better, only worse. I brought the car back to the dealership on 9/29 again to have them look at it. They first told me nothing was wrong and that the car just "rode rough" . The service person i was dealing with asked for us to drive in the car together so I could point out what I was feeling when I drove it. While he was driving I could feel the hesitation even in the passenger seat. I pointed it out everytime I felt it, to which he confirmed he felt as well. After the test drive, he allowed me to drive a similar model closest to mine. While I drove that vehicle, I felt that same exact feeling I was feeling in mine. He recommended that I file a formal complaint and that he would send all the information into the warranty department. He also stated during the drive that the new Santa Fe, when they were first released had a similar issue and that they finally release a software update to resolve the issue with the trans and that may also be the case with the new palisade as well. My advice to anyone buying this car, during the test drive make sure you request to take this on the highway and get it in the range of 65-75mph and keep it idle at 70 for a bit and make sure you dont get stuck with the same problem! And I had to turn the wheel super slow as I approached the left turn into the gas station. And then I noticed my car had shut off completely. I screamed to the men that were at a gas pump feet away to help me push the car into the station. They finally ran over and pushed it into the station. Soon after we attempted with one car, and one truck we tried to jump start my car with the batteries. It didn’t start or turn the engine over fully either few times we attempted jumping it. I finally called it quits and took a ride home. The next day my buddy tried to “ fix it “ he said it didn’t really work as properly and the battery isn’t probably the problem. He said it might be the ac compressor due to my air going out weeks before. But he was afraid to tell me it wasn’t gonna be a cheap or easy fix. He suggested I go to a mechanic. Months prior I received a few notices in the mail that stated my name and my vehicle info. I never really paid them any mind until now but I am thinking I should open them soon. I’m assuming that this info would be in there about a recall. I hope that this will be a substantial amount of evidence for my recall. On [XXX], while driving ~65 mph, my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Duramax experienced a sudden transmission lock-up, nearly causing a crash. The event caused severe internal transmission damage, leaving the truck unsafe and inoperable. This is the exact defect described in NHTSA Recall #24V-797 (GM Recall N242454440), which states that valve body wear can cause rear-wheel lock-up. My truck stor
... ed P0700 and P2820, which directly indicate a valve body failure. GM refuses to repair my vehicle under Special Coverage N242454441 (15 years/150,000 miles) because code P0747 did not set, even though my failure clearly matches the defect. I requested a hydraulic valve body leak test, the only way to confirm the defect, but the dealer refused, saying they only scan codes. GM must perform this test at no cost, as required by federal recall laws. GM’s denial leaves a known safety defect unrepaired, violating federal recall obligations and putting drivers at risk. NHTSA action is needed to require GM to repair vehicles like mine, regardless of which DTC is stored. Our new Model Y with only 302 miles lost driving power, reported a high voltage problem, and shutdown in the middle of the street. Within an hour Tesla towed it to the repair center. The next day we picked up a loaner. Throughout the ordeal the Tesla staff have been very friendly. They only needed two days to make the repair. Here is what the technician wrote in the Tesla app. With the vehicle on
... site found it unresponsive and unable to drive. Towed the vehicle in and pulled vehicle data. Found numerous alerts for contactor power supply being undervoltage. Performed and exhaustive inspection of the right main harness. Found the contactor power supply wire to have a short to ground in the harness. Continued inspection and found the harness to have rubbed through the harness at the right rear c pillar area. Removed the wires and rerouted to prevent damage. Rewrapped the harness and added foam to prevent the issues from returning. Performed a test drive and verified the vehicle is back to working order with no alerts or issues.Read more

My car has twice been fixed with this shift to park message and now it is in the shop once again to be fixed!! And this has also had the torque converter fixed twice now. And it is still doing the same issues. This needs to be something that Chevy is replacing. I am a single mother and can’t afford all these problems and yet I keep having to make a car payment and get these things fixed.
