My 2022 GMC Yukon XL with the 6.2L L87 engine was previously subject to NHTSA Recall 25V-274 / GM Recall N252494000 for L87 engine loss of propulsion. The recall was closed by the dealer as “PicoScope Inspection — Engine Passed / Update Engine Oil Type,” with the oil/cap/filter remedy. The vehicle was later brought back to the dealer for engine noise/knocking, check-engine light, and engine
... oil light/oil warning concerns. The dealer has now confirmed that the dipstick was not picking up oil, the oil level was severely low, the oil condition was severely degraded, and abnormal engine noise was heard. My VIN also shows active GM Special Coverage N252494003 through 1/15/2032 or 150,027 miles. The dealer previously stated that the underlying PicoScope pass data from the recall inspection is no longer available to the dealership after submission. This is not the first oil-related concern. During a prior service visit in September 2025, around the same time the L87 recall was completed, the dealer documented an engine oil low message and an upper oil pan leak causing the low-oil message. I am concerned the L87 engine may be failing after the recall remedy was previously marked complete, creating a risk of engine failure or loss of propulsion while driving. I am also concerned the current engine/oil/noise condition is being treated as customer-pay/out-of-warranty before the root cause is fully diagnosed or reviewed by GM under Special Coverage N252494003.Read more

My truck violently downshifted randomly and caused me to lose control for a little bit. I was lucky to narrowly avoid a crash. The truck is showing transmission range sensor codes after the truck downshifts harshly. My local Ford dealer did a diagnosis and confirmed that it has a faulty molded lead frame. However, they are refusing to cover the repair and are saying that I either pay them or stop

While slowing down at normal speeds, my 2013 Ford F‑150 will suddenly and violently downshift into a much lower gear (appears to be 1st gear). When this happens, the rear wheels lock up briefly, causing the truck to skid and jerk forward. This creates a serious loss of control and a risk of collision. The issue is intermittent but recurring. It has happened multiple times under normal driving c
... onditions. No warning lights remain on afterward, but traction control sometimes flashes during the event. I reported this to a Ford dealer, but they refused to repair it. This appears to match known issues with the 6R80 transmission and leadframe failures on similar F‑150 models. This is a major safety hazard. If this occurs in traffic or on wet roads, it could easily cause a crash. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate and require Ford to address this defect.Read more

I purchased a 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid 2023 on December 15, 2023, and since early ownership I have experienced persistent jerking/clunking while slowing to a stop, harsh downshifts, hesitation during braking, and rough transitions between electric and engine power. The issue was first documented around 5,744 miles and continued through approximately six to eight repair/work orders, where dealer
... ships repeatedly described the condition as normal hybrid/DCT behavior while performing software resets, adaptive relearns, and diagnostic checks. After continued complaints, Hyundai Techline became involved and the dealership concluded the vehicle “jerks pretty bad,” leading to a full transmission replacement under warranty. Despite the transmission replacement, the issue persisted and the dealership later confirmed slight clunking during downshifts and discovered a torn engine mount, which was also replaced. The dealership additionally noted that the issue did not occur while driving another Elantra Hybrid or the loaner vehicle, suggesting the condition was specific to my vehicle. I also opened a case with Hyundai Motor America Consumer Affairs regarding the recurring defect and repeated failed repair attempts, but the issue continues despite major drivetrain repairs. Hyundai Motors America Consumer Affairs has not been able to help me with this either. They also didn't provide me with the Federal Agency number when I requested them in order to reach out and seek help from the agencies. Hyundai didn't help me in any way. There were no warnings. Here’s a strong version that sounds frustrated but still credible and harder to dismiss: I’ve owned many vehicles over the years, and this BMW has been, without question, the most problematic car I’ve ever had. The list of issues has been absurd for a vehicle in this price range and from a brand that markets itself as a premium luxury manufacturer. The sunroof failed, I’ve had multiple t
... ire blowouts under normal driving conditions, the drive bar/suspension was bent from what should have been a routine road bump, the engine oil housing/component failed, and now I’m dealing with coolant system and drivetrain problems as well. At this point, it feels like one major issue after another. I expected quality, reliability, and engineering excellence from BMW, but my experience has been the complete opposite. Instead, ownership has been stressful, expensive, and incredibly disappointing. A luxury vehicle should not have this many significant failures in such a short span of ownership. Between the repair costs, downtime, and constant concern over what will fail next, this car has completely destroyed my confidence in the BMW brand. I am documenting these issues formally because this ownership experience has been unacceptable.Read more
