In June 2024, my 2014 Kia Soul (VIN: [XXX] ) experienced a sudden engine failure without warning. I was driving on a busy road when the engine began sputtering and quickly stalled. ... sts. This type of failure is consistent with the known defects in the Theta II engine that have triggered recalls and extended warranties in similar Kia models. Although Kia has denied coverage for my vehicle, I believe this is a related safety issue. The vehicle stalled unexpectedly, creating a hazardous condition on the road. I was traveling with my toddler in the back seat and felt our safety was at risk. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this failure is not an isolated incident and should be investigated. Kia has refused to acknowledge a defect, but the symptoms match those in previous recalls for other Soul and Forte models with similar engines. I turned into a restaurant’s parking lot, found a spot and slowly drove into the lot, I eased off the gas pedal and gently applying the brake as the lot has a slight downward slope. The technician failed to update/recalibrate the on-board warning system since last time I had the serviced at dealer, mainly for oil change on 3/14/2025. So, every time I turned on the engine, there is a warning message displayed as: "Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer". This happened since the day after oil change. My transmission is fine... All they had to do is updated/reset my BCM when they had it as well as perform a "relearn". But they didn't!!! For those with model years 2025 and below, a RECALL for known defective drive shafts should be granted as Polestar has revised parts for the rear left and rear right drive shafts. My vehicle is covered up to 50K miles, and I am now a few hundred over this, I have asked for goodwill on their warranty coverage but I am not receiving any response from Volvo Marin (this is Polestar Marin's service dealer). I also attempted to contact Polestar Support and they told me to reach out to the dealer, but they have been very unresponsive with several emails to the Service Director. Symptoms - during deceleration, a ticking sound can be faintly heard by the rear wheels. It sounds like the wheel of fortune ticking sound. Issues - when a driveshaft breaks, the vehicle immediately loses power and will likely stop moving, accompanied by loud clunking or grinding noises. My 2025 Ford Explorer ST-Line is up to date on recalls as of October 7, 2025. Also, this car (and all 2025 Explorer models ) injects Fake Engine Noise into the audio speakers to make the 2.5L engine sound more powerful. These fake "bass tones" are disturbing to some passengers with hearing aides, and per Ford's website there is no way to disable the fake noise. Thus, some people with a hearing disability cannot ride in my car without removing their hearing aides. It should be unacceptable to not be able to disable that feature. The transmission in our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica has had issues with slipping, or not engaging as well as violent, hard gear shifts for at least the last 40K miles. We have taken it to the dealership several times, but the dealership said they drove the van and could not replicate the issues. There have been countless instances where the van starts rolling forward from a stop and effectively slips into a neutral position before hard shifting back into gear and moving forward. Sometimes when pressing the accelerator at a dead stop the engine revs up before the transmission engages and starts to move forward. Both of these issues create serious risk of being in the middle of an intersection when this happens as the slipping is most often when attempting to accelerate from a dead stop. The hard shifts are very abrupt and startling when they occur. There does not seem to be a certain speed or gear that is more or less likely to trigger the violent shifts but they are occurring more and more often as time goes by. There have been a handful of instances where the transmission shifted gears and initiated a shudder that went away upon the next upshift in gears.Read more

There is an odd engine 'rattling', 'guzzling', 'slurping', type noise coming from the engine and the engine has begun to idle very rough even after fresh oil change. This is directly the issue cited from Nissan as recall with no current solution - which is unacceptable. We are not interested in waiting until the car malfunctions worse and in a dangerous way in order to get this recall addressed.
