The coolant system on my 2022 Genesis GV70 has repeatedly failed despite multiple repairs. On April 2, Greenway Genesis diagnosed a coolant leak and replaced several components. The problem returned, and I brought the vehicle back on April 29 because the coolant appeared low again and the engine sounded louder than before. On October 25, Holler Hyundai confirmed another coolant leak, this time inv
... olving the integrated thermal management system. The recurring coolant loss places my safety at risk because it can lead to engine overheating, sudden power loss, or engine failure while driving. The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by two separate Genesis/Hyundai service centers. However, the root cause has not been identified or corrected, and the manufacturer has not provided a permanent solution. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times by authorized dealerships, and repair invoices are available for review. Despite these failures, no coolant warning light or dashboard message ever appeared, which raises concern that a sensor or monitoring component may not be functioning correctly. There were no warnings or messages at any point before or during the coolant loss. The vehicle is currently at Greenway Genesis and is available for inspection. Based on multiple repeated failures and the absence of any warning indicators, there appears to be an unresolved defect that could create a safety hazard while the vehicle is in operation.Read more

2018 Mazda CX-5, 2.5L NA Has been diagnosed with leak in the cylinder head cover, which has resulted in engine oil leaking directly onto the exhaust manifold. This leak produces significant smoke and a strong burning oil smell while the vehicle is running. There are numerous reports on Mazda owner forums describing the same issue occurring in Mazda CX-5 models. Some owners even reported instances
... of minor fires or active burning under the hood due to oil contacting hot components. Mazda released Technical Service Bulletin TSB #SA-031-21, which includes a redesigned cylinder head for the 2018–2019 CX-5 models. This bulletin demonstrates Mazda’s awareness of the design flaw. The TSB only covers turbo 2.5L engines and not normally aspirated engines. There is substantial evidence that this is a widespread defect in these model years, unrelated to owner misuse or vehicle mileage. Mazda should take full responsibility by issuing a formal recall or providing an extended warranty to address the problem and prevent safety risks.Read more

I have taken my truck to two seperate ford dealerships. Both acknowledging something strange on the transmission with the hesitations, the jerkiness and the hard shifting that happens. The first replaced the trans fluid and the filter. The second dealer replaced the valve body. During the 5th visit. They had me drive around their foreman to show him the problems. While he did feel the jerkiness a
... nd hesitations I feel, he said that its pretty much not bad enough yet and that the dealership would be held responsible for the cost of a new transmission if they replaced it and ford deemed it not needing to be replaced. Ford corp told me they wouldn't intervene with their attempt to fix it. The ford dealer sent me home and didn't fix anything the 5th time, even after explaining I felt harsh jerking on the way home to the point it felt like it was kicking me and a bunch of white smoke came out of the tailpipe. I even provided them a video of the white smoke when completely stopped after had been driving for 3 hours. The service on this truck is completely up to date and absolutely no reason at 41k miles I should have all these issue with this transmission. Ford has been resisting to replace this transmission but is willing to sell me a $4k extended warranty. Its getting old. This saga needs to end. Ford needs to just recall these transmissions already. This fight has been ongoing long enough! And ford corporate wont even help me. During the 3rd and 4th visit they replaced the valve body sent me home and the next day I had to bring it back after coming out of my work and transmission fluid being all over the ground right after they "fixed" it. They didnt give me a tow truck but rather made me drive almost 20 miles to their dealership. They claim the transmission pan warped but they just didnt screw the pan on correctly and ensure the pan seal was in good shape.Read more

On the highway, the vehicle would not accelerate and was losing speed even though the gas pedal was fully depressed. Initially, the vehicle was in ECO drive mode, traveling approximately 65 mph and the steering wheel paddle to toggle the regenerative breaking between levels 1-3 prior to getting onto the highway. The vehicle speed dropped from ~75mph into the low 50mph range on the highway and was
... able to maintain speed then slowly regain speed when then phenomenon would happen again. The engine light was not initially on but did come on eventually. The engine light flashed at first but then stayed solid. Eventually a safe space was found on the side of the highway to pull over and restart the car. After restarting, the vehicle was able to regain highway speed (using caution, slow acceleration to merge back onto the highway), however when attempting to accelerate faster to see if the problem persisted, it did and the car again would not accelerate even when fully depressing the gas pedal. It felt similar to when you push the gas pedal while in park where the engine revs with high rpm's but doesn't move. The road trip was completed using cruise control, which seemed to have less issues (although not zero issues). After exiting the highway, at lower speeds (<30mph) the vehicle was shaking like it was going over rumble strips until it could be turned off and restarted. Component: power train. Yes, it is available for inspection. Safety issue: While traveling on the highway at times, the vehicle lost speed, was unable to maintain speed and/or accelerate. This could have easily caused a crash at highway speeds (60mph+). inspected by others? No. Will be taken to dealer on 11/3/25 Warning lights: The engine light came on after the initial incident. This is a supplemental complaint to NHTSA ID #11604939. On October 25, 2025, Passport Nissan in Alexandria, Virginia diagnosed my 2016 Nissan Rogue with fault code P17F1, which indicates a known CVT transmission failure. The technician documented drivability issues including hesitation, slipping, and pulsing during acceleration. The diagnostic sheet recommended full CVT replacement. The dealership
... submitted a warranty request to Nissan’s Diagnostic Validation Team, and internal documentation shows a full transmission job totaling $6,996.44. Nissan classified the failure as warrantable under goodwill. Despite this, Nissan later offered only a partial valve body repair with a 50/50 cost split and a 3-day deadline. This contradicts Nissan’s own Technical Service Bulletin, which states that if fault code P17F1 returns after reprogramming, the transmission must be replaced. The dealership’s own technician confirmed the failure was warrantable and recommended full replacement. This misrepresentation minimizes a known safety defect and compromises consumer protection. The issue has been confirmed by a dealership technician, documented in service records, and submitted to Nissan’s internal warranty team. The vehicle experienced hesitation and loss of power during acceleration, which posed a safety risk while driving. This reflects a broader pattern of concealment and avoidance of full liability for transmission failures across Nissan vehicles. I request that NHTSA investigate this matter as a potential safety defect and deceptive repair practice. The component is available for inspection upon request, and all documentation has been submitted to the Virginia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section and I am prepping for other filings.Read more

I was then warned that these problems can cause power loss or engine stalling while driving, and that the vehicle in this condition would likely not pass a legal emissions inspection. This situation creates a safety risk because sudden loss of engine power or stalling can happen in traffic.Read more

A camera was installed in our garage after the vehicle was sent home with us without being repaired due to being unable to replicate the issue. The camera captured 4 incidents of the vehicle electronics turning on, and air suspension raising up and down over a span of 5 days. We were advised to park the vehicle outside of our garage for fear of potential electrical fire, or it starting on its own. The vehicle is currently still in the dealership service department as they try to find the source of the issue. The vehicles electrical malfunctions have caused it to shut off on the highway, and while backing out of our driveway on multiple occasions. My 2004 Toyota Tacoma was part of the frame replacement back in the fall of 2018 when Bobby Rahal Toyota in Mechanicsburg, PA has by truck for over 6 months while they replaced my frame. Now I am stuck trying to figure out how to pay for this myself. I have taken very good care of my truck for over 21 years and there is no reason for me to have to pay out of pocket for something that they should have taken care of during the recall. When I slowed down my engine quit. Everything turned off and the car was stalled. I was able to turn the car back on and start the engine but there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine and when
... applying my foot on the gas it wasn't going anywhere. It stalled in traffic again. I put it in park, and restarted it and got enough gas for it to move and get off the main road. I called a tow company and had a certified mechanic take apart the engine $600 and Inform me the engine was shot. The car had maybe 80,000 miles on it. I had no idea what to do. The car sat at the repair shop for several weeks while I figured out what to do. I had it towed to a Hyundai dealership and had them look at it. They told me that there was no recall and that since I wasn't the original owner their powertrain warrenty was not valid. They did their diagnosis, another $300 just for them to tell me the same thing the other mechanics told me, the engine was shot and needed to be replaced. They put together a list of items that needed to be replaced and repaired and it came out to over $17,000 and Hyundai would do nothing for me. A vehicle with less than 80,000 that's engine fails is a recall in my book. It's now been over 2 years and I continue to pay for a car I cannot drive, and Hyundai still doesn't accept responsibility. This is a faulty car and would never recommend to anyone. Look at all the complaints regarding the engine and powertrain, obviously this is an issue. Hyundai needs to acknowledge this and replace these failing engines. Maybe by the time I'm done paying this car off they will take responsibility and the NHTSA will fully support the individuals that are owed a vehicle or engine replacement.Read more
