Due to the unresolved recall I have experienced alot of issues. The most terrifying is the loss of power, my jeep has just stopped moving sometimes allowing me to het to 30 mph but no more. The driver was then able to drive to the nearby residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that gear oil was leaking from the front transfer case and from the AWD housing area. I purchased a 2019 Chevy Traverse brand new off the lot as single owner and kept up with maintenance. If the PCM had been reprogrammed, then this issue should not have happened unless there needs to be another update performed. They alerted me that there was a customer satisfaction program for the molded leadframe in the transmission that would cause this issue, but this is not a satisfaction issue it is a safety issue. If they replace the leadframe but there is never any change made to the way the transmission functions then when it eventually goes bad again the issue could come back, once again posing a major safety risk.Read more

2021 Ford Escape. In January 2025 the turbo system failed and was replaced by a Ford dealer for about $5,903.85. Two months after that repair, Firestone advised that the entire transmission now needs replacement. Each time the problem appeared, the vehicle showed violent slippage

Like numerous other BMW owners, my transfer case is failing in my vehicle. It’s actively causing jerking/shuddering/locking up at low speeds and while making turns. This poses a significant danger to the driver and passengers in the vehicle, and other drivers as well while turning or trying to merge with traffic. I’ve brought the car into the dealer had the transfer case fluid changed accor
... ding to the service bulletin that exists for this problem but it persists. I’ve brought the vehicle back into the dealer and told that now BMW suggests paying for another fluid change. This is obviously a known problem (thus the service bulletin), it’s persisted with models like mine for over 5 years, had cost numerous owners significant amounts of monies out of pocket, and poses a safety risk given the transfer case is a foundational component of these vehicles’ drive trains. Finally it’s a problem BMW openly admits they caused with improper fluid in the component. I believe the above meets all criteria for a formal recall that BMW should cover (or reimburse) the costs for given their negligence and the risks it poses. Can you confirm why this hasn’t risen to a formal recall? And confirm the steps you’re actively taking to elevate this to that status with BMW?Read more

I own a 2020 GMC Acadia that has experienced multiple major mechanical failures within one year. In January 2025, at around 74,000 miles, the transmission failed completely with no warning or clear indication of what was wrong. The vehicle suddenly lost power while driving, creating a safety risk for me and my child. I was quoted around $12,000 for the transmission replacement initially before get
... ting GM involved. GM covered all but approximately $3,600 out of pocket for me and also covered 100% of the timing cover replacement, which was found to be defective during the same repair. Now, at about 84,000 miles, the thermostat has failed, triggering the check engine light. This repair has not yet been completed and is estimated at around $1,500. My dealership informed me they keep thermostat parts in stock because this failure is so common on Acadias. There were no warning lamps or symptoms before any of these failures occurred. All repairs and diagnostics—including the current issue—were done at the same GMC dealership where I’ve always had my vehicle serviced on time. I’ve been a loyal customer and maintain my vehicle according to the recommended schedule. Despite that, I have faced repeated high-cost repairs on a 5-year-old vehicle with relatively low mileage, which has been financially and emotionally overwhelming—especially as a parent who recently lost employment. Having the transmission, timing cover, and now thermostat all fail in such a short time clearly raises concerns about the reliability, safety, and manufacturing quality of the 2020 GMC Acadia’s powertrain and engine systems. Given that GM has already covered most of the transmission and timing cover repairs and dealerships acknowledge frequent thermostat failures, this appears to be a systemic defect that warrants formal investigation.Read more

This vehicle is equipped with a chassis/suspension and drive train that makes it extremely difficult to control on the road. The vehicle wags when a vehicle passes it and it also has excessive movement when caught in a crosswind. The vehicle is rated to pull up to 8000lbs. I was pulling a Jeep Grand Cherokee that weighs about 5000lbs. If the Jeep moved right the Vacationer would jump left and
... when the Jeep went left the Vacationer would go right. This combination of the Vacationer movement with or without the Jeep requires excessive vigilance to keep the rig on the road. I have over 50 years of driving large vehicles including semi tractor trailers and other large RVs. This is the most uncontrollable vehicle I have ever driven. It requires constant inputs to counter body sway, drift and push by the towed vehicle. The vehicle is also severely under powered. It would slow to 20 miles per hour on many hills no matter how I approached hills. I tried revving the engine prior to entering a grade and manually shifting to try to maintain a reasonable speed. I found multiple postings on line for recalls on the Ford F-53 chassis describing these exact problems and some remedies to address part of these issues. This vehicle and others with this chassis and drive train are unsafe. I drove my brand new rig for about 4000 miles and reached a point where I do not want to drive it on the road. I feel unsafe. I had several times where the vehicle surged so quickly to right or left that it would have caused an accident. This drive train and chassis combination is found on several brands of motor homes and I have spoken with several people who have experienced similar issues as well as the on line posts. These vehicles pose a substantial risk on the road as they sway and jump in response to wind or they slow well belwo normal road speeds. These vehicles should be recalled.Read more

I am reporting a chronic and dangerous defect in my 2020 Nissan Versa that results in an unpredictable, sudden, and complete loss of acceleration (motive power) while driving. This defect has been present since shortly after purchase and remains unresolved, posing a severe safety risk on public roads. Specific Safety Incident Details: Symptoms: The failure begins with the illumination of the Mal
... function Indicator Lamp (Check Engine Light), simultaneously accompanied by dashboard messages like "Malfunction See Owner’s Manual" and "Key System Error." The Critical Safety Hazard (Loss of Power): Immediately following the dash warning, the vehicle experiences a major, sudden loss of acceleration. This is not a gradual deceleration—the throttle becomes unresponsive, and the vehicle will not accelerate for approximately 4 to 5 seconds. Driving Conditions: This failure occurs randomly, including during critical maneuvers such as accelerating from a stop, merging into traffic, or attempting to accelerate on a highway. Consequence: When the vehicle unexpectedly fails to accelerate (especially in high-speed or high-traffic situations), it creates a high risk of being struck from behind or being unable to clear an intersection or merging lane safely. Initial Report (In-Warranty): The problem was first reported on March 31, 2021 (Mileage 25,404) to Central Houston Nissan (Invoice # NICS309560) and again on July 29, 2021 (Mileage 32,229) to Sterling McCall Nissan (Invoice # 2373806). Engineering Investigation: On both occasions, the dealerships specifically noted that the issue (DTC P0101 and associated warnings/power loss) was "under investigation under Nissan Engineers." Technical Service Bulletin (TSB): Nissan has acknowledged this widespread issue by releasing TSB NTB21-049 (June 8, 2021), which addresses the "MIL ON WITH DTC P0101" for the 2020-2021 Versa model.Read more
