I am the only owner of this vehicle and it has 114,000 miles At 90,000 miles i had to replace the transmission and now, its at the dealer due to turbo leaking oil internally and externally AND coolant intrusion. These issues are commonly known and the coolant intrusion is from a design flaw. Why is this engine not included with the recall for the very same issue on other ford ecoboost engines

The vehicle recently began making a whining noise when the gas pedal is pressed that is consistent with premature failure of the transmission. I took it to my local dealership and they recommended replacing the transmission and limiting usage of the vehicle to short trips until that is done because the transmission could fail while driving which would result in loss of power to the wheels which

Vehicle experiences repeated harsh shifting, hesitation, sudden downshifts, hard downshifts with engine redlining, and loss of acceleration during normal driving. Transmission intermittently jerks violently between gears and hesitates when pulling into traffic or merging onto the highway, creating a serious safety concern. I have experienced multiple near collisions due to the vehicle hesitating o

Vehicle has also unexpectedly downshifted hard while driving, causing the engine to redline and creating unsafe driving conditions. Issue has occurred multiple times and vehicle has been taken to Ford dealer for repair on several occasions. Dealer performed software updates/reprogramming, but condition persists. Vehicle currently has approximately 66,000 miles. Currently it is undrivable especially due to the fact I have children.Read more

The vehicle began showing serious safety related symptoms before the engine failed. These included engine knocking, repeated sensor failures, the speedometer and odometer blacking out while driving, the navigation screen going dark, and the entire instrument cluster malfunctioning. These issues caused loss of speed information, loss of vehicle status, and loss of navigation visibility, creating un
... safe driving conditions. Despite these warning signs, the engine later failed suddenly at around 71,399 miles with no warning lights, no oil pressure alerts, and no overheating indicators. The sudden loss of power created a highway safety hazard due to loss of propulsion and reduced steering and braking assist. The manufacturer and dealership also provided conflicting and misleading information about warranty coverage, including a claim of “no warranty on engine,” which contradicts the official warranty coverage documents. This has delayed proper repair of a safety related defect.Read more

I had been driving my truck for multiple days, after a knocking sound suddenly started from under the hood. It was evident at any speed that wasn't idle. There were no check engine lights displayed on the dash. The sound was annoying enough that I took it in. My 2019 F150 3.5 ecooboost with the (10R80) transmission is unsafe to drive. The vehicle only has 66,000 miles and it is experiencing very serious transmission problems. I will lead off with the most dangerous safety issue. The 10R80 transmission will shift unexpectedly while traveling around 50 mph from 9th gear to 1st gear without actually engaging 1st gear, but simply becoming unresponsive on a
... highway at high speed. I was afraid I would be rear ended by another driver because I wasn't engaging any brake lights. A few other hazardous examples would be hard shifting such as from first gear to third gear and skipping second gear when gradually accelerating, downshifting hard when approaching a stop sign or red traffic light and shifting from sixth gear to seventh gear and simply not knowing which gear it wants to be in. The transmission is dangerously erratic. Recently the vehicle had a small (wrench) warning light illuminate. I referred to the manual and it indicates a powertrain malfunction. I brought my vehicle in for service and they did a software update. This did absolutely nothing and the transmission simply got worse. It was more erratic than ever. I scheduled another appointment for service and the dealership subsequently told me I need a new transmission. My truck has 66,000 miles on it. This is crazy. And a delicate 66,000 miles at that as I am meticulous with all maintenance intervals. The transmission is so erratic that I will not drive it. It is simply too unsafe and I do not want to cause any further damage. So in conclusion, I now have a 2019 F150 with 66,000 delicate miles on it, sitting in my driveway.Read more

On [XXX] ~[XXX] PM, at highway speed on [XXX] eastbound near Frisco, CO (a mountain interstate), returning to Denver from Salt Lake City, my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek suddenly and without warning dropped into reduced-power limp mode and began lurching and shaking while the engine kept running. I lost the ability to accelerate or maintain speed. At the same moment the check engine light came on and mul
... tiple active safety systems automatically disabled: EyeSight, pre-collision braking, vehicle dynamics (traction/stability) control, and hill start assist. It took about two minutes to manage the lurching, power-limited vehicle across multiple lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder. My partner was in the vehicle. Had this happened on a bridge, a grade without a shoulder, a tunnel approach, or in heavier traffic, I believe a collision was a realistic outcome. The vehicle was towed to a Subaru dealer and diagnosed with a failed Thermo Control Valve. Sixteen trouble codes were stored, including P26A6, P0606, P060B, P2138, P2135, P2122, P2119, P2004, P2005, and P0191. Mileage was 49,983. There was no prior symptom. The vehicle had a full multi-point inspection at the same dealer only 11 days and ~1,400 miles earlier ([XXX]); nothing was flagged. This failure mode is already known to Subaru, addressed by Technical Service Bulletin 09-119-24 and a warranty extension to 15 years/150,000 miles; the dealer repair order confirms the TSB. I am concerned Subaru handles a safety-relevant failure, one that disables collision-avoidance systems at highway speed, through a quiet warranty extension rather than a recall or owner notification. Owners get no warning and discover it only when it fails dangerously. I request NHTSA open a formal safety defect investigation. The vehicle is completely grounded and unsafe to operate due to a severe transmission defect covered under active Safety Recall 26S28 (NHTSA Campaign 26V237). The molded lead frame and Transmission Range Sensor inside the 6-speed (6R80) power train system are failing due to degradation from thermal cycling and vibration. This creates an immediate highway safety hazard where the vehicle is at risk
... of an unexpected, sudden downshift into a lower gear without warning. On multiple occasions, the vehicle experienced a rough driving experience—specifically when pulling out of a parking lot or accelerating into traffic. This behavior was consistently followed by the wrench icon illuminating on the dashboard for a few minutes before disappearing. These symptoms first manifested in July 2025. There were also a few incidents of loss of power with no harsh vehicle malfunction just the wrench lighting up then going away. The vehicle's lead frame was subsequently replaced, but the exact same malfunctions returned in December 2025. The vehicle has been completely disabled and out of service since December 2025. I've had my 2021 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4X4 since July 2023 with zero issues until my service 4WD light came on in December 2025. It went off immediately, but I let my mechanic look at it & he couldn't find anything. It continued this way until early April 2026, the light came on but always went off right away. I was driving home from my grandsons' house (about 1.5 miles) & half way home, there was
... suddenly an awful, LOUD noise coming from under the Jeep & the steering was difficult at best. I was afraid for my life driving less than 4 blocks from my house. The next day, it started fine & the 4WD light was not on. I attempted to drive back to the grandsons'; immediately after accelerating after the stop sign by my house, the 4WD light came on & a new, louder, scarier noise came from under the car. I couldn't pull over safely (nowhere to pull over except someone's yard) & became very frightened that I would hit the people on the sidewalk, the cars in the other lane, etc. I had some helpful people stop & push my car back to my house (I'm disabled). The next morning I had it towed to Surefire (my mechanic) & after a few days, he called & reported it was the PTU, I'd have to replace it immediately. I had to pay a deposit of $600 cash & after several weeks, my Jeep was fixed. I paid the other $1454 via credit card to get the Jeep back. This is NOT safe!! I see recall 40D last week & was relieved- until I spoke with FCA today. Evidently, all other 2019-2023 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4X4 are recalled except mine. What if I'd hit the pedestrians? What if I'd crashed into the oncoming cars? I'm almost too scared to drive due to this PTU failure. It's an awful thing to experience. I have a beautiful Jeep I'm afraid to drive.
