Complaint Description On Tuesday October 28th, 2025 while driving to work, my 2024 Chevy Silverado LTZ suddenly went into limp mode during normal driving. The truck would not go into reverse at all. I had to use OnStar to call a tow from my residence because the vehicle was not safe or able to be operated. The truck has been at the Chevrolet dealership since that day and as of today (November 7th
... ) it still has not been repaired. The service department confirmed it is a failed transmission valve body. Research shows this is a recurring and known issue on many GM trucks and GM does not appear to have a permanent fix yet. Component/System that failed: Transmission Valve Body failure. Component is currently located at the GM dealership and is available for inspection. Safety Risk: This failure caused sudden limp mode, loss of power, and inability to reverse while in active traffic. This put my safety and potentially other drivers at risk due to sudden unexpected deceleration and inability to maneuver safely. Problem Confirmed: Yes. Confirmed by GM dealership service technicians. Inspection: The vehicle is currently at the GM dealership. No manufacturer field rep, insurance, or police inspection has occurred yet. Warnings / Codes Present: The failure occurred without prior early signs that morning. When it failed, OnStar diagnostics reported: P2732: Transmission System — “Engine and Transmission System not performing as expected.” P0700: Transmission Control Module requested Malfunction Indicator Lamp illumination. Emissions related DTC set in the Transmission Control Module. Both codes triggered at the time limp mode activated. Best Assessment: This appears to be an ongoing recurring GM transmission valve body issue affecting newer GM trucks. The failure caused a sudden loss of drive capability and is a safety hazard that requires NHTSA investigation.Read more

... g shuddering issues. When we took it to Milton Martin Honda in Gainesville, GA, they reported the issue is present, but not at a certain "threshold" for them to be required to fix it. They then proceeded to charge me $175 for diagnostics because the issue did not reach said "threshold." They then proceeded to tell me that a torque convertor will cost me $5200 and that the reason it is so expensive is because they just raised their prices on torque convertors. Definitely appears that they are weaseling out of fixing these recall/warranty extensions and then up-charging when people do have to pay cash for the vehicle to get fixed. My local dealer has all the documentation on this jeep. It has been into the dealership many times now the check engine light is on for another problem which I am taking it in again this weekend . When I ask the dealer, I’ve been seeing things on Facebook about these jeeps having issues they just filled me full of a bunch of Bull and says every vehicle has issues. I’ve ran the VIN number and
... found out that mine is one of them that just catches on fire plus sometimes shakes when it’s driving down the road but that’s been minor considering everything else. One time I was driving up the driveway and it felt like the transmission slipped or something. They said it was something in the four-wheel-drive that went out. This is a new vehicle. It has very low miles on it. I’ve had it going on maybe the fourth year now it’s only got 31,000 miles on it I don’t drive it very far. It’s been in the shop several times for recalls or things that’s happened to it. When I first got it, it left me stranded would not start. I’d only had it a few days. It has been a lemon from start to finish. I am terrified to drive it and I don’t have another vehicle. I paid $55,000 for this jeep just a few years ago. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. I desperately need help if the manufacturer is refunding people’s monies I want to make sure that I get enough money to buy another vehicle because this one is only a few years old and it’s been in the shop numerous amount of times. The other day it shimmied a little bit on the highway and I thought it was the road and now I’m reading that there’s problems with that also, it’s clearly a lemon. But as I said, I’m scared to death to drive it now. The newest development as I’ve said is now the check engine light is on. It’s only been out of the shop for maybe three weeks since they fixed something in the four-wheel-drive which I’ve never even used. I love the looks of this Jeep, but it’s not dependable so I need help.Read more

During multiple dealership visits in 2025, my 2018 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T was repeatedly returned in unsafe condition. Southern Hyundai installed both front CV axles and torqued them incorrectly. The right axle was later confirmed under-torqued by about 50 ft-lbs, and the left axle was later found over-torqued 40ft-lbs Priority Hyundai later identified and corrected the under-torqued right a
... xle, which briefly improved symptoms but did not resolve the underlying issue. When I returned for a follow-up on October 29, 2025, for a documentation-only appointment due to an active corporate case, the dealer ignored my instructions and altered evidence by loosening and re-torquing the left axle nut without consent. They recorded the torque at 250 ft-lbs in the repair order but failed to capture the required photos or before/after readings and referenced the wrong vehicle’s torque specification (Hyundai Elantra) in the documentation. Since then, the vehicle has continued to show steering pull, vibration, and instability at speed. Several visits showed only 0–3 miles of verification driving after safety-critical repairs involving brakes, suspension, and driveline components. Aftermarket parts were installed when OEM parts were promised, and uneven tire wear developed quickly. Safety risks include wheel-bearing damage, steering loss, and driveline separation due to repeated improper torque and altered evidence. Independent Firestone and Honda technicians have verified these issues. The matter remains under active Hyundai Corporate Case #[XXX]. The “SVC 4WD” warning indicator illuminated on my dashboard. A diagnostic test performed at an authorized dealership confirmed a failure in the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). The PTU and the vehicle are still installed and available for inspection upon request. The warning light appears intermittently—turning on for a period of time, then shutting off before returning. This issue presents a pot
... ential safety risk. The dealership explained that PTU failure can result in loss of power while driving or the vehicle failing to remain securely in Park, either of which could lead to loss of control or unintended vehicle movement, posing a risk to myself, passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership through diagnostic testing. No repairs have been completed at this time because, although this is a known issue affecting this year, make, and model, the PTU failure is not currently covered under a recall or warranty extension. I have also observed multiple reports of PTU failure in other vehicles of the same year, make, and model, suggesting a pattern of premature failure that may indicate a potential design or manufacturing defect. To date, the vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership and has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. The transmission on my 2019 vehicle began making loud grinding and whining noises and then started hesitating during acceleration. A Toyota dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed a failing transmission bearing and advised that the entire transmission must be replaced. The repair was quoted at approximately $12,000. The vehicle has been regularly maintained and serviced. Despite proper main
... tenance, the transmission failure occurred unexpectedly and prematurely. Because of this issue, the vehicle became unsafe to drive and has now been undrivable for nearly a year. The failure creates a safety risk due to hesitation, loss of acceleration, and unpredictable shifting while merging into traffic or maintaining highway speed. The issue has been reproduced by the dealer and fully documented. There were no warning lights or error messages prior to the failure; the first signs included grinding noises and difficulty shifting. Publicly available reports indicate that Toyota extended warranty coverage in Canada for similar CVT transmission concerns affecting comparable model years, suggesting manufacturer awareness of premature internal component defects. My vehicle’s symptoms match those issues. This defect poses a significant safety hazard, especially given the possibility of sudden power loss. I am filing this complaint because this is clearly a premature CVT failure that has left the vehicle unusable.Read more

The car was not recognizing
... any movement I was making with the gear shift, and would not lock into place for any gear. I had to hold my foot on the brake even while "shifted" into park; otherwise, I would drift backwards into the car behind me, and potentially into a ditch/creek. I had to call for help to stabilize my car, with bricks behind the tires and a 25-pound weight left on the brake so I could exit the vehicle. We had to lift and open the gear shift to the compartment underneath and manually shift the car into park. During this, we unfortunately broke something under the gear shift. This happened on a Sunday evening (July 20), so no repair person was available to help me. Chrysler refused to offer any assistance or information about the last recall of this issue, and advised me to call the dealership that did the repair (they would not tell me which one I went to, just that it was marked complete in 2019). I know I went to a Shorkey location, but not which. I called three Jim Shorkey Dodge locations in Pittsburgh, and they all refused responsibility. I was told to call Chrysler again. I did not, because why would I? A local mechanic was able to acquire the part from Dodge to "fix" the issue. However, he had to override the safety mechanism that causes the car to recognize what gear the car is in before it can turn off. So now I have to drive around, hoping I don't accidentally press the power button and shut off my car on the road. The car was inspected by a representative from Progressive. They determined a mechanical failure and denied my claim for coverage. This is BS.Read more

I had this car serviced at the Ford dealership where I purchased it shortly before the warrenty ran out just to catch anything before it was not covered. Car was running well when I took it in. Copy of Invoice provided. Shortly after this visit I began to notice these symptoms not extreme at first. After a short it became quite noticeable the shuddering acting like it did not shift smoothly, go
... ing up hill was very noticeable mostly at lower speeds. I made an appointment with my local Ford dealer to have this diagnosed . They did spark plug replacement and that didn't help. They then said the next thing would be the Torque converter! We currently are unable to drive this car out of our town, until it is fixed, We are unable to trust its reliability. We had to wait for parts for a month because so many people are having to have these replaced that these parts are always out of stock ! We are extremely disappointed in FORD we WERE quite happy with this car. They need to be held accountable for these repairs people all over the internet are reporting the same thing!Read more

am experiencing multiple issues with my 2024 Cadillac XT6 that affect drivability and potentially safety: 1.Intermittent Transmission Shift Jerk •The vehicle occasionally exhibits a sudden “jerk” or abrupt shift while accelerating, mostly in 2nd–3rd or 3rd–4th gear. •The issue is intermittent and cannot be consistently reproduced during dealer visits. •The dealer has performed two tr

Transmission has to be replaced due to transmission slipping and delayed shifting under heat and prolonged highway driving. This issue also causes SUDDEN hard shifting, hard breaking, shaking of the steering wheel, along with grinding of gears!! This is a safety issue to to no warning signs at all along with a sudden drop in speed and power!! While driving on the interstate or highway this sudden
... change can cause the vehicles behind you to rear end you or cause a pile up!!! The driver has no control of vehicle when these issues happen!! A loss in control due to shaking of the steering wheel is a huge issue!!! Lack of shifting or hard shifting causes a SUDDEN stop of vehicle with no warning signs while driving!! It is going to cause a crash!!!! These are serious and dangerous issues that Gm will NOT do a recall for!! GM is aware of the issues due to Suburban, Tahoe and Silverado vehicles in the year models 2018-2023 having this reoccurring issue!!! I recall needs to be done to save someone’s life!!!!! I have only had my suburban for 8 months!! I was not made aware of this issue at all!!!!!! This also causes rough idle!!!!!!!!Read more
