Routine oil change by professional local mechanic. Upon completion we were told that the vehicle would not turnover. The mechanic diagnosed and found that were 2 recalls for our vehicle - one for the fuel pump module and one for the engine. We had our vehicle towed to the local GM dealership. They then replaced the fuel control module. GM tried to manually crank over but engine seized once again.
... We spoke to the GM Advisor prior to this and were told that our vehicle was not part of the engine recall because our VIN was not listed as part of it even though our vehicle had the same exact issues as described in the engine recall and was for the exact year/make/model of the engine. The dealer quoted us $14,896 to replace the engine. They stated they would submit a Goodwill claim to GMC to help discount the cost to repair/replace the engine. The dealer called back later that day and said GMC would be willing to cover 30% of the cost so our expense would be around $10,000. All this for a vehicle we've only driven for less than a year and a half. The vehicle went in for a routine oil change and has never had any issues prior to this. This happened suddenly without any sort of warning. To make matters worse, our powertrain warranty expired a day or two before this occurred. We are still trying to fight with GMC to cover this engine failure. The car has less than 75,000 miles and is only used for basic personal needs like driving to school and the store so it is shocking that the engine would suddenly fail like this and to make matters, the manufacturer refuses to take responsibility for it and to cover it under the recall even though there has been known widespread issues with this engine.Read more

On 11/01/2025, while traveling on the highway traveling at a speed of 80mph, my vehicle suddenly would not accelerate beyond 60 mph. I managed to exit safely, but this created a dangerous situation for both me, my daughter and other motorists . The next day, Firestone inspected the vehicle and informed me the engine contained zero oil—yet no oil light, check-engine light, temperature warning, o
... r sensor alerts were triggered at any point. There were no visible oil leaks, suggesting internal oil consumption, which I had reported to Kia in October of 2024. On 10/21/2024, I paid $3,300 for a flywheel/ignition repair at a Kia dealership. When I dropped off the vehicle for that repair, I specifically reported abnormal oil consumption and requested it be checked. Kia did not diagnose or remedy the concern. The combination of: -Complete oil loss -No warning indicators -Sudden loss of power and inability to accelerate -Occurring at highway speed constitutes a critical safety defect. Drivers cannot take preventative action if the vehicle provides no indication of catastrophic engine failure until it is already occurring. This defect exposes drivers, passengers, and surrounding motorists to severe risk of collision or injury. Additionally, the dealership later provided a Carfax entry simple stating "car maintenance" on 10/22/2024. No record of what was repaired, indicating inaccurate or incomplete documentation. I am requesting that NHTSA: -Review this incident as a potential engine safety defect. -investigate whether other 2021 Kia Telluride owners are experiencing similar catastrophic oil -loss or lack of warning indicators. -Assess whether current recalls adequately address this failure pattern. -Determine whether an additional recall or investigation is warranted.Read more

My car has clunking noises coming from the front left suspension, they occur more often and getting louder. After doing some research online, I found that the symptoms are similar to the NHTSA recall number 24V-057. Unfortunately, the NHTSA recall didn't include Niro plug-in hybrid manufactured in year 2023, only Niro EV. I took it to the service center nearby. They said it's the strut, so what th
... ey will do is to dismantle it and put more lubrication when I return again to perform a strut "maintenance". If there are still noises, then they will order a new replacement strut. However, from what I read online, it's actually the driveshaft that causes the problem, hence the recall 24V-057. Please investigate into Kia Niro 2023 plug-in hybrid vehicles having the same problems and issue new recall if possible. Thank you.Read more

While driving at highway speed, the vehicle suddenly lost all engine power without warning and rapidly decelerated in traffic. This created a severe safety risk, and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue was later connected to open recall R25A8, involving engine bearing failure and sudden loss of power. The dealership confirmed that no inspection procedure or repair remed
... y exists and stated that they have no timeline for when Nissan will provide one. Despite this, the dealer returned the vehicle to me and claimed it was safe to drive, even though the problem remains unresolved. Nissan Consumer Affairs refuses to communicate in writing and only provides verbal phone calls. Each time they call, they state that they will “provide an update in three days,” but no real progress or written documentation has been provided. Meanwhile, I am left with a vehicle that experienced a complete loss of power on the freeway and remains unsafe to operate. Independent diagnostics showed multiple critical fault codes involving the engine, ECM, ABS pump motor, and brake control modules. Warning lights appeared only after the failure; there were no warnings prior to the incident. The safety defect is ongoing, unresolved, and there is currently no available remedy from the manufacturer, leaving the vehicle unsafe and posing continued riskI am requesting a full buyback of the vehicle with compensation for all related losses. I have already communicated this request to Nissan, and as mentioned above, they only call with delayed updates and do not resolve the issue.Read more

Hairline crack developed on the transmission cooling line at the connection of the thermal bypass block. After looking up it seems to be common. Yes, there have been user-reported issues with transmission cooler lines leaking or cracking on 2024 Chevrolet Silverado models equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine, including at or near the thermal bypass block connection. These reports primari
... ly come from owner forums and appear to affect a subset of vehicles, often discovered during routine maintenance or after noticing fluid spots under the truck. Symptoms can include hard shifting, fluid seepage on the undercarriage, or low transmission fluid levels, with some cases progressing to require towing if not addressed early. For instance, multiple owners of 2024 Silverado 1500 models (including ZR2 trims with the LZ0 3.0L Duramax) have described leaks originating from the cooling line block or thermal bypass area next to the oil filter, sometimes involving hairline cracks in the lines themselves. In one detailed account, a 2024 model with around 35,000 miles experienced fluid leaking from the cooling line block, leading to replacement of seals and the entire line assembly due to cracking discovered after initial repairs. Similar problems have been noted on closely related 2023 models, where leaks at the thermal bypass valve necessitated replacing the valve, O-rings, and all cooler lines, with some users reporting hairline cracks as the root cause. Parts like the lines have been on backorder in some cases, causing repair delays, and resolutions are typically covered under warranty (e.g., powertrain coverage up to 100,000 miles), though repeated visits to dealerships are common. These issues seem tied to the 10L80 10-speed transmission paired with the 3.0L Duramax, where the thermal bypass valve can contribute to overheating or fluid flow problems if faulty, potentially exacerbating line wearRead more

The low-pressure fuel temperature/pressure sensor failed internally, causing diesel fuel to intrude via capillary action into the engine wiring harness and ultimately contaminate the Digital Diesel Electronics (DDE) control unit (ECU). The failed components (sensor, harness, DDE) are available for inspection upon request at BMW of Loveland, CO. My safety was put at risk in two primary ways: Engi
... ne Stalling Risk: The DDE is the engine control unit. As the fuel contaminated the electrical connections, the engine's reliability was compromised, creating a significant risk of sudden engine stalling while driving in traffic or at high speeds. Fire Hazard: The intrusion of diesel fuel—a combustible fluid—directly into the electrical wiring harness and the DDE created a clear fire hazard. Fuel near active electrical components poses a serious safety risk. Inaccurate Temperature Readings: The EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) sensor received incorrect readings due to the DDE/wiring issue, leading to potential engine damage due to excessively high exhaust temperatures. The problem has been confirmed by BMW of Loveland. The Service Director and their technical team identified the root cause in less than one day and confirmed it requires the replacement of the sensor, harness, and DDE. This was also validated by an internal BMW technical support case (TSARA). Gebhardt BMW failed to diagnose the issue correctly over three prior attempts starting in June 2023 through Aug 2025. Prior symptoms appeared over a period of months and included: Intermittent check engine light/MIL. Multiple, confusing diagnostic fault codes (related to air mass, charging pressure, and DPF efficiency). Increased frequency of DPF regeneration intervals.Read more

I am reporting a recurring safety issue with my 2023 BMW i4 (VIN: [XXX] ), currently at 28,426 miles. The vehicle has experienced three separate incidents of unexpected and complete loss of power while driving. The first incident occurred in March 2025. The vehicle suddenly lost all propulsion without warning and came to an immediate hard stop. I was later informed this was related to a wheel-pos
... itioning sensor. The second incident occurred in October 2025. I had been told that a recall software update would resolve the problem, but the vehicle experienced another loss of power while in motion, showing the issue was not corrected. The third and most concerning incident occurred in November 2025. Multiple error messages appeared instructing me to stop driving immediately, and the vehicle again lost power while moving. A complete loss of propulsion in traffic—especially while merging or pulling into a roadway—creates a severe safety hazard because I am unable to move the vehicle out of the way of oncoming traffic. This puts both myself and other drivers at risk. BMW has acknowledged awareness of issues related to these systems during previous service visits, but the defect continues to occur despite attempted repairs and software updates. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this matter, as repeated power-loss events pose a significant safety risk that could lead to crashes, injuries, or fatalities. I have a 2018 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4, with the current odometer at 61,500 miles. What component or system failed or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission exhibits severe torque converter shudder/vibration. The torque converter and transmission fluid are original to the vehicle and are still installed. Yes, the
... vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request at any time. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving at highway speeds (40–65 mph) under light throttle, the truck suddenly begins violent shuddering/vibrating that feels like driving over rumble strips. This causes the entire truck to shake, momentarily reduces engine power, and makes steering and braking feel unstable. The shudder is strong enough to blur the rear-view mirror and has occurred in heavy traffic and while towing, creating a serious risk of loss of vehicle control. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The shudder has been reproduced on multiple test drives by me and is identical to the symptoms described in Ford TSB 22-2219 and earlier TSBs for 2017–2020 F-150 10R80 torque converter shudder. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not yet formally inspected by Ford for this specific failure, but the symptoms are identical to thousands of documented 10R80 cases that Ford has acknowledged via TSBs and goodwill repairs. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No check-engine light or transmission warning lamps. The shudder first appeared approximately May 2025 at around 54,000 miles and has steadily worsened. It now occurs on every drive between 20–25 and 40–55 mph.Read more

During unrelated work, a mechanic discovered the retaining ring for recall N08 (rear axle pinion nut) was not installed and the pinion nut was loose enough to turn by hand. He stated the recall had either been performed incorrectly or not at all, and that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The recall shows “completed” in 2013, but the defect is still present. I contacted Stellantis Customer Car

I sent the photos of the missing ring, screenshots showing the recall marked completed, and Stellantis’ confirmation to the dealership before having the vehicle towed to verify coverage. The truck was towed to Time Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Portland. My initial contact was [XXX] at that location. However, all recall decisions and communication later came from [XXX] , who works at a different dealership. Over the next month, the dealership repeatedly stalled the recall, saying they were waiting on approval from the district manager and then from the recall department, but no action was ever taken. Despite having Stellantis’ written confirmation and clear photographic evidence of the unresolved defect, the dealership refused to perform the recall. They insisted on treating it as a “warranty” issue and cited reasons such as mileage, age, and not being the original owner—none of which apply to safety recalls. They then stated that teardown and diagnosis “would run $1000,” even though the defect has already been documented by both the mechanic and Stellantis. All communication, including photos, the mechanic’s findings, Stellantis’ confirmation of coverage, and the dealership’s refusal, is available upon request. I am filing a complaint regarding the recall work performed on my 2011 BMW 528i for the VANOS bolt safety recall. The recall notice stated the vehicle was unsafe to drive until repaired. I arranged towing to Jackie Cooper BMW in Edmond, Oklahoma because of this safety warning. The dealership performed the recall repair and released the vehicle back to me. Staff present at the time included a technician named Luke and the Service Drive Manager, Tayler Hawkins. Staff statements indicated that diagnostic charges would have applied if issues outside the recall were found, but no diagnostics were ultimately billed. There were also inconsistencies regarding the availability of the service manager. I am filing this complaint because the vehicle failed immediately after recall service and required towing. * The transmission regularly misses shifts through the lower gears when accelerating, particularly when the transmission is not yet up to operating temperature. It's as if the transmission goes into neutral, the engine races (tach spools up to 3500/4000 rpm), and then the transmission will slam into the next gear. * I cannot depend on the truck to merge predictably with traffic, and lurching and b

Service records are available. * Apart from the above it has not been inspected by other agencies. * There are no other indications either through the vehicle on-board systems or DTCs visible on independent or dealer scanners. There was an indication when I bought the vehicle due to a needed recall / software update. I complied with the update at the dealer and the fault indication cleared itself. I do not know if there is any relation to the current problem. Note that this symptom appears virtually every time the truck is driven, so "date the incident occurred" is "various", although listed as today.Read more

On November 10, 2025, our 2023 F150 powertrain failed for the second time in about a month. I was pulling away from a curb when the truck experienced a loss of power. The Ford service center diagnosed this as a PowerTrain Control Module failure. This is dangerous because I was driving when the failure occurred and the truck lost power. This could have been catastrophic on a highway or while travel
... ing at a higher speed. There were NO warning lamps, messages or any other symptoms prior to the failure. Ford had just serviced the truck with an oil change on October 3, 2025 and then replaced a failed auxiliary fuel pump on October 7, 2025 that also led to a failure while driving.Read more

Our 2023 F150 has had two back-to-back powertrain failures. I was accelerating out of an intersection after the light turned green and suddenly experienced a loss of power. I brought my 2021 Highlander L in for some regular maintenance and reported that within the last 2 weeks I have been hearing a whining sound when the vehicle is decelerating. I was informed at the end of the day that the transmission is bad and needs to be replaced. My vehicle is just outside of warranty (69k miles). I have always ensured my Highlander got an oil change on time, had all recommende
... d maintenance done at that appropriate time/milage, and brought it in for safety recalls promptly. This vehicle has never been in an accident, and while I have owned it (and according to Carfax when I purchased it) I have always brought it to a Toyota dealership for any and all work. There have never been any warning messages, and even though my vehicle has been into Toyota regularly for oil changes and regular maintenance, I was never notified of any other issues. I also use this vehicle at least once a year for road trips (over 200 miles) and before every trip bring it in to have it checked. I'm being told it'll be about $10K to fix. Based on my research I have discovered this is a problem MANY people with a 2021 Highlander are having, also a class action lawsuit was filed due to transmission issues but only covered Highlanders up to 2020. This seems to be the same issues those vehicles had but I'm being told it's not covered or a recall.Read more

The latest recall, NHTSA Recall 25v-655 for which there is no fix, has rendered my vehicle useless for any round-trip of more than approximately 130 miles from home. This is the same issue for which there was a recall for 2019/2020 LEAFs and after a year there was no known fix from the manufacturer.

I was driving my truck around 40 MPH and a wrench came up on the dash, the fan sounded like it kicked in on high for the duration of the wrench being on, the light indicating whether the truck was in P, R, N, D, M, 2, 1 was no longer illuminated. After a while it stopped but the problem has persisted. This last time, I was driving my truck around 55 MPH and the exact same thing happened but this t
... ime the truck seemed to downshift into either first or second gear and obviously the RPM was extremely high. After this happened, I took the truck to the Fairway Ford in Evans, Georgia and was notified that the molded lead frame needed to be replaced, costing nearly $2,300. This sudden downshift was an extremely concerning safety issue that could have resulted in a crash and endangered not only myself and my children, but others that wouldn’t have been able to prevent an accident. I hope this issue is addressed before someone loses their life over the poor quality of a Ford manufactured and Ford endorsed product with potentially dangerous consequences when it fails suddenly.Read more

I purchased this vehicle from Capital Auto Auction, and it was listed as having only a “minor engine stutter” and that it “runs and drives.” However, within 5 minutes of driving away from the auction, the vehicle became unsafe and experienced multiple immediate safety failures. The vehicle developed a loud whining noise, lost acceleration, and would not move even with the accelerator press
... ed. The check engine light and red battery light came on immediately even though these warnings were not disclosed at the auction listing. The car became unable to drive and created a hazardous situation in traffic. I had to call AAA roadside assistance, and the vehicle had to be towed. A Nissan dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that it has serious safety and drivability concerns, including likely transmission failure and possible electrical system tampering. When attempting to diagnose the vehicle, the OBD2 diagnostic port would not power on, which indicates a potential electrical wiring issue or fuse failure. I also discovered signs that the electrical system may have been tampered with prior to the sale, including a blown fuse and wiring abnormalities. The vehicle shows multiple unsafe conditions: * Loss of acceleration in traffic * Sudden transmission failure * Electrical malfunction * Dashboard warning lights not previously disclosed * Diagnostic port not functioning * Battery warning light activation * Car becoming undriveable within minutes of use These issues were not disclosed at the time of purchase and present clear safety hazards, as the vehicle could not accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. I am filing this complaint to report the unsafe condition of the vehicle and the immediate failure that occurred right after purchase. This poses a danger not only to the driver but to other motorists on the road.Read more

During the first transfer case fluid service on a 2019 light-duty 4WD truck equipped with an Autotrac two-speed transfer case, the drained fluid was bright red and consistent with automatic transmission fluid rather than the required GM Auto-Trak II blue/green fluid. The transfer case had never been serviced since new, so the fluid appeared to be the original factory fill. Before the discovery, th
... e vehicle occasionally hesitated when shifting between drive modes and sometimes felt as if the system was binding or briefly locking up during transitions between 2WD, Auto, and 4WD modes. These symptoms were intermittent and no warning lights appeared. Using the wrong fluid in this type of transfer case can affect clutch-pack operation and may cause premature wear or loss of proper torque transfer. The system has now been refilled with the correct fluid, and the drained fluid is available for inspection. The issue has not yet been inspected or confirmed by a dealer.Read more

At approximately 6:45pm on Friday November 14, 2025, while driving among tractor trailers in the passing lane at highway speed on westbound RT 30 near mile marker 191 (Lancaster, PA), my 2022 Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport Platinum experienced a complete loss of propulsion. This catastrophic and sudden engine shutdown came with no warning lights, no symptoms prior to a complete loss of power. The ve
... hicle had previously been inspected as part of the recall service by Fred Beans Cadillac in Doylestown months prior and customer was informed it had passed the recall inspection and was given the recommended corrective action - (new oil [0W40], oil filler cap and new oil filter). Customer had ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO SUSPECT this engine had issues, because it "passed" GM's recall... This vehicle's unexpected & compete loss of power gravely endangered the lives of the vehicle's four occupants who were absolutely terrified during this experience ! I put the vehicle's hazard lights on and guided it to a stop on the right shoulder of RT 30 at the mile marker 191 Westbound. I contacted my insurance provider's roadside assistance for a flatbed tow off the highway. Vehicle was eventually flatbed to Kelly Cadillac for engine diagnosis. [will give much more details in subsequent communications as the characters here are limited] We are awaiting Cadillac dealer's diagnosis of the cause of this catastrophic engine failure with complete loss of propulsion at highway speed (after the recall was performed and vehicle was cleared). I have added photos of the confirmation from the insurance company's dispatch of a flatbed to my location on RT 30 as well as a screenshot of us on the right shoulder of RT 30. I have attached text messages received from GM of the engine issue that were received AFTER the vehicle was stopped on the shoulder of highway. My family - and others on the highway that evening - could have been gravely injured or even killed by this Cadillac's complete malfunction !Read more

Apparently there is a TSB from GM regarding the end for updated/replacement of parts concerning the hydraulic piping, slave cylinder and accumulator. My clutch became spongy then stuck on the floor.
