For the first time I purchased a brand new vehicle off a dealership lot…What a mistake. While the dealership itself was an awful experience I thought it was worth it for a Chevy Silverado. After all my previous one was so reliable. WRONG. The first issue I found was I was unable to shift into reverse to back out of the driveway of a fire station I volunteer at. After driving forward a couple tim
... es and shutting the vehicle off and shifting multiple times I had to be towed out in reverse. I was able to drive home but the transmissions slipped once and the vehicle slowed abruptly. The check engine light was now on. I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership over the weekend and on Monday they called and informed me the 2024 Silverado misfired once and nothing was wrong with the transmission. There was nothing they could do. About two months later I was driving to work as a career firefighter/paramedic when my vehicles check engine light came on and a message informed me that I was in “reduced acceleration mode”. I slowly and carefully made my way to work and brought the truck to the dealership after my shift. The check engine light was now on again. They informed me later that day that I had a faulty valve body in my transmission. They “unfortunately” could not give me a completion date on my repair as they had no ETA for the replacement part. It appears the part is in high demand. This makes sense as a quick google search shows this is a widely known issue with the 10 speed transmission. So far I have been unable to get a rental vehicle between the dealership and GM. Aside from my house my 2024 Silverado is the largest purchase of my life. And at 15,000 miles I am without it for the foreseeable future. As a first responder the communities I serve depend on me to respond from home at any hour. My family and I are living in a DIY renovation while also starting a farm business. I need a dependable vehicle and regret spending $53,000 on a new vehicle. I have more to say.Read more

I am writing regarding my vehicle, a 2021 Kia Seltos LX - VIN Number [XXX] , which is subject to a recall NHTSA #25V099, Manufacturer Recall Number SC336. I was informed of the recall April 2025 and have since experienced engine stalling while driving on the highway with my young children with me, abnormal engine noise, complete oil loss and eventually complete engine failure. Unfortunately, thi
... s defect caused my vehicle to become unsafe and completely inoperable for the last 8 weeks. Kia said "We have completed the SC336 Piston Oil Ring recall, and your vehicle did pass. This means that the failure of the engine is not covered within the scope of that recall. This vehicle also does not have Kia warranty coverage active now due to age and miles. At this stage, Metro Kia does not have any further recourse for warranty coverage." My kia was stalling on the highway, complete oil loss where it was bone dry which led to engine failure. How did the vehicle "PASS" when EVERYTHING from the description of the recall is EXACTLY what happened to me? This is absolutely wild that Kia is refusing to do anything about this vehicle. It is a 2021, with 65,000 miles on it. The repairs are over 13K and I am being told I would get nothing for the car if I traded it in because it is worth nothing. Because of this situation, I have experienced a complete loss of transportation and have been relying on other methods of transportation and emptying my bank account for numerous towing visits to and from the dealership. Kia has not fixed the recall and instead quoted me over $13,000 to repair the car. I have enclosed copies of relevant documents, including the recall notice, service records, and any related correspondence. I messaged the BBB and attached Kia's response to that, as well as an email with the service advisor at Kia. We had snow this afternoon and my wife drove the car home from work. We live on a private road and have a steep driveway. I had her park the car in the road while I plowed the driveway. There was only 1-2” of snow on the ground. My wife existed the car. It appeared to be off and in park meaning the engine was not running and the car sat still on a grade. In hindsight, I should have had her
... set the park brake. My wife went down to her house taking her key with her. I was plowing the driveway. The car had been sitting still on the road for at least 15 minutes. When I was plowing, I had the other key in my pocket. When I got next to the car while still operating my plow, I noticed the taillights came on. Next, the car began rolling down the hill on its own. Nobody was in the car. I was chasing the car. I noted the rear tires were rolling. They were not sliding. The car contained to roll forward then veered towards the side of the road that has a steep ditch. The car then slide sideways down the embankment and stopped at the bottom of the hill. Fortunately, the car did not rollover. Had it been dry and now snow, I think it would have rolled over sideways due to the steep pitch but instead it slid in the snow. I think I was lucky and there is no significant damage but I have not fully retrieved the car out of the ditch yet. I suspect the car was in the start stop mode and possibly my wife did not put into park before exiting the car but this could be easily done since it has the push buttons shifter and the engine was off. Not sure if this is what happened, it’s just speculation. This could have been much more serious if this happened with other people or cars around.Read more

My Jeep has had 3 PTU replaced in its life, the third one has failed and I'm now left either putting in a 4th or junking it, either way I take a loss. The 2nd PTU failed over a long period of time, the 3rd PTU failed a week past my 1 year warranty coverage and it did so abruptly. I have written in before regarding this vehicle but I write again due to the danger of this failure. The PTU rattled,
... grinded before seizing all tires and motion. I was lucky by myself and my child wasn't present and that I wasn't on the interstate (had gotten off moments before it failed) and in a quiet neighborhood. I lost all momentum forward even giving it gas. Had I stopped abruptly on 380, going 60 mph... I would have rolled the vehicle or another would have rear ended me and I might not be here today. When my father and brother arrived on the scene we had to push it while I laid on the gas to unlock the wheels and then delicately maneuver it closer to the curb. The grinding occurs in both neutral and drive. There were no warning lights, no prior indication of failure. Insurance doesn't cover this because I wasn't in an accident either time, there are no warranties left, I still owe on my vehicle and repairs will cost more than the vehicle is worth. I was quoted $9,000 to have it replaced plus no ETA on when they could get the part in. Not only can I not afford to replace at that cost vs vehicle value, I wouldn't have mode of transportation for who knows how long. I missed the original manufactures recall by months, yet my vehicle has had more PTU's than one should ever have. If I could get a message back regarding this situation, ASAP that would be great.Read more

Vehicle: 2025 Kia Sorento (leased) VIN: [XXX] Mileage at failure: 11,345 Incident dates: March 23, April 27, November 28–December 1 Type: Loss of power / electrical failure / safety hazard Complaint Description: I am reporting repeated electrical failures and complete loss of power in my 2025 Kia Sorento that created unsafe situations for myself and my children. The first failure occurred on
... March 23, approximately 2½ weeks after leasing the vehicle. The vehicle died without warning and had to be jumped. I brought it to the Kia dealership, but service would not perform a diagnostic without an appointment and sent me home with no repair. The second failure occurred on April 27. This time the vehicle was completely dead again. Kia’s service manager retrieved the vehicle from my home, diagnosed a failed battery cell, and replaced the battery. The third failure occurred between November 28 and December 1. The vehicle was again completely inoperable. I attempted to jump the vehicle on multiple days, but it would not hold a charge. I was stranded without transportation. The interior doors and trunk would not unlock because the power locks failed, and my belongings and large business related were inaccessible. Headlights flickered like a strobe light before the vehicle lost power entirely. Kia towed the vehicle from my home on December 1. These repeated electrical failures have resulted in multiple incidents of being stranded, including with my children, and have caused loss of use of the vehicle for several days. The defect is unpredictable and creates a serious safety concern, especially because the vehicle can lose power without warning and i am unable to unlock the doors. This raises a SERIOUS safety concern when transporting children. I am requesting that NHTSA document this as a potential electrical system safety defect. On October 12, 2025, while I was driving, the vehicle abruptly shut off, locked up, and completely stalled while in motion. The vehicle is unsafe to operate and cannot be used for its intended purpose. I rely on reliable transportation for my personal and professional obligations and cannot be without a safe vehicle for an extended period while Jeep attempts to resolve a known safety problem. On November 29 2025 my 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 with 49000 miles was warming up in the driveway. I heard a pop sound from the back seat like a soda can being opened (or a fuse blowing). Immediately afterwards warning lights appeared on the dash saying "Check Electrical System." The vehicle lost power to accelerate and could not be driven effectively. After a few moments, another error saying "Power i
... s Limited" appeared. This could have happened on the roadway which would have been hazardous to myself and other drivers. The car is scheduled to be diagnosed next week by Simmons Rockwell Hyundai in Elmira, NY. These symptoms are similar to the hundreds of other reports of ICCU failures in this car and similar models. On Sept 10, 2025 the car was previously issued software updates to the ICCU software , which were required under NHTSA Recall Number 24V868000. If this problem is proven to be an ICCU failure, the experience with this car is an example of the 2025 software update failing to prevent the ICCU Failure. I request swift action from the NHTSA to compel Hyundai to implement a permanent fix for my vehicle and all other afflicted models in order to make Americas roadways safe again. Until then, everyone should be extra careful when driving behind a Hyundai Ioniq, 5 because it is at risk of dying and coming to a complete stop at any moment. Hyundai is a large corporation and has the resources and technology to fix this, but they have not done so, despite there being more than 300 complaints to the NHTSA about these cars at the time of this writing.Read more

I am the second owner of a 2024 Toyota Tundra that is branded as a manufacturer buyback/lemon. The first owner had the engine short block replaced at around 31,000 miles due to bearing failure. I later bought this truck at around 36,000 miles specifically because Toyota stated that the engine problem had been fixed with the short-block replacement. I relied on that representation and believed I wa
... s buying a vehicle whose defect had been properly remedied. Toyota has now issued safety recall 25V767 / 25TA14 (“engine may stall during driving”) for this same V35A engine, including service short blocks. I am concerned that the earlier short-block repair either did not fully fix the underlying defect or may have introduced additional problems. At around 41–42k miles, the truck developed starting issues and then completely failed to start, leaving me stranded in the middle of an intersection in town. The vehicle would not crank or start and had to be towed out of traffic, which I consider a serious safety risk. The dealer ultimately replaced a 50-amp fusible link, the 12V battery, and the starter. The total repair bill was about $2,100 before my third-party extended warranty paid a portion of it. Even with that coverage, this is an extremely expensive repair for a relatively new truck that has already had major engine work. Now I have engine history, electrical/starter problems, and I do not know what other issues may appear. I trusted Toyota’s assurance that the engine problem was fixed, and that is why I felt comfortable buying a branded lemon; this now feels like I was misled or cheated. I am also aware of ongoing engine and reliability complaints on newer 2024–2025 Tundras, which suggests there may be a broader design or quality issue. My concern is that my truck remains defective despite the prior engine short-block replacement and that other owners could experience similar no-start or stall situations in traffic.Read more

Beginning at approximately 750 miles on a brand-new 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid EX, the vehicle experienced a flashing Check Engine Light accompanied by severe shaking while driving, rough idling, loss of power, and loud engine/exhaust noise. The vehicle became difficult and unsafe to operate due to the vibration and reduced drivability. These symptoms appeared suddenly on November 22, less than three
... weeks after purchase. The vehicle was taken to the dealership on November 24. Their technician retrieved diagnostic codes P0300 (Random Misfire) and P0304 (Cylinder #4 Misfire) and identified a failed ignition coil on Cylinder #4. The coil was replaced, and the dealership reported the issue resolved. However, less than 24 hours later, with the vehicle still under 800 miles, the exact same symptoms reoccurred: heavy shaking while driving, vibration while idling, loss of power, and unstable engine operation. This indicates the underlying issue may be more serious than a single coil failure. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership, and the vehicle is currently back in their possession for further inspection. A loaner vehicle was issued because the vehicle was not safe to drive. The sudden shaking, engine misfire, and loss of power created a significant safety risk, especially if this failure were to occur at highway speeds or while turning across traffic. Given the extremely low mileage and recurrence immediately after repair, this may indicate a broader defect affecting engine performance or ignition components in this model. The vehicle remains available for inspection by NHTSA, the manufacturer, or investigators.Read more

Approximately two weeks before the major symptom appeared, the “Service 4WD” warning light illuminated on the dashboard. After arriving home, I immediately stopped driving the vehicle due to serious safety concerns and contacted my mechanic. A certified mechanic inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the transfer case (Power Transfer Unit) had failed and required replacement. The mechanic stated that this is a common problem in 2019 Jeep Cherokees. After researching, I found many other reports of similar failures, all traced to transfer-case defects. However, my VIN is not currently included in any recall. I believe this defect is related to known issues affecting Jeep Cherokee transfer cases and should be investigated further by NHTSA. Around 160,000 miles my CVT transmission went out. I almost got into a wreck no warning lights just stopped on me. My vehicle was in the shop for three weeks I had to get a $14,000 loan to repair it because my extended warranty didn't cover specifically CVT transmissions because of Nissan history with the other vehicles with that transmission type. I contacted Nissan corporate they said they would give me a warranty but since the Pathfinder wasn't on their recall list they couldn't assist me in that manner. Since the CVT transmission repair I've had engine issues and now my catalytic converter isn't working properly. They said the transmission needs to be replaced. In researching the problem, I found a bulletin/recall: 7A61K20482. The bulletin says the serial number must be before 7A617E03416. I want to get on your list and
... hopefully, be able to get some kind of relief for this problem.Read more

The transmission failed abruptly, without any notice or warnings. I had to have it towed to a service shop. When I first tried to drive the vehicle, I was too nervous because the vehicle would not shift so I chose not to drive it for safety reasons. I first towed the vehicle to a shop near my house that concluded I needed a new transmission but they did not repair transmissions. I then had it towe
... d to a transmission shop. Both shops concluded black, metal in the transmission. The manufacturer, the police or the insurance have not been involved. The vehicle provided no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the day the transmission failed in November 2025. My vehicle is only 5 years old and I have had it serviced every 6,000 miles at a Ford dealership. At no time did Ford tell my my transmission fluid was black or needed to be changed. In fact, they continued to tell me that the vehicle was running well. Upon investigation, it appears that the 2020 Ford Edge, 8 speed transmission has experienced the same issue. I also have a 2015 Ford Edge, 6 speed transmission, and I have never had an issue with metal in the transmission. I had to spend just shy of $10,000 to have my transmission, in a 5 year old vehicle replaced.Read more

My service FWD light came on so I took it to the shop to get it looked at. Upon diagnosing this issue, I was informed it is a faulty power transfer unit and was informed of the dangers of driving with this issue. I have a newborn son so I immediately stopped driving my car and left it at the shop to be fixed. It has been there since October 6th.. It is now December 1st and the part is still not in
... stock to fix. This same part is recalled for the same reason in Jeep models 2017-2019. However mine is 2020, no recall yet, but is having the same issue and is now on backorder. I have been paying for insurance, etc.. on my car to just be sitting there rusting away and Jeep cannot give a timeframe on when the part will be in. I am out on a car and struggling to find transportation to and from work and a safe way to transport my newborn child.Read more

Driving home and car had a sudden loss of power randomly while driving. It would not restart until 5-10 minutes later despite multiple start/stop attempts. On the screen it stated to “plug in to condition battery.” We were in the left lane on a busy road with construction and were almost rear ended multiple times while car was not functional. Have had multiple issues with battery on this 4
... xe - did recent software update at dealer. I have taken it to dealer previously for battery code (service battery) and they stated they can see code, but unsure of what problem is. No warning lights prior to incident. It sounds like through reviewing on internet this is a common problem with 4xe vehicles and if it hasn’t killed someone yet, it certainly will. We did call 911 for assistance due to the vehicle being disabled in middle of highway, but no official report was made.Read more

The 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid is experiencing a recurring safety failure of the Front CV Axle Shafts. The vehicle exhibits violent, uncontrollable shaking of the front end during acceleration at highway speeds (40–65 MPH). This severe vibration compromises vehicle stability and steering control, creating a significant safety risk during merging or overtaking maneuvers. The vehicle was previously
... repaired for this exact issue by an authorized Ford dealer on May 30, 2024 (at ~32,000 miles). However, the failure has recurred 18 months and 33,000 miles later. Inspection of the current failed parts reveals that during the 2024 warranty repair, the dealership installed obsolete, superseded part numbers (Series "NZ", specifically NZ67-3B436) instead of the updated, corrected design (Series "SZ") released by Ford to fix this known defect. Because the dealership replaced defective parts with the same defective/superseded design, the safety hazard has returned prematurely. The defect was previously confirmed by a dealer technician. The current failure is confirmed by visual inspection of the part labels showing the obsolete "NZ" code. No warning lights appeared prior to failure; the symptom is immediate mechanical vibration under load.Read more

The vehicle presents a compounded safety defect creating a risk of passenger entrapment and high-voltage fire. 1. High Voltage Manufacturing Defect: On September 3, 2024, authorized Tesla Service technicians diagnosed a critical safety fault. The service record states technicians 'found A/C compressor HV harness was incorrectly routed, rubbing against the steering column' and 'found sand inside t
... he connector'. Tesla repaired this defects under the 'Basic Vehicle Limited Warranty,' confirming it was a factory assembly error. This defect created an imminent risk of a high-voltage short to the steering column, which could result in driver electrocution or total vehicle power loss at speed. 2. Passenger Entrapment: The vehicle has a documented history of Rear Falcon Wing Door failure (7 repair attempts from April 2023 to May 2025). The doors frequently fail to latch or open. On July 8, 2025, the Left Rear Door failed to open due to a sensor fault. 3. Combined Hazard: If the incorrectly routed High Voltage harness causes a vehicle power failure, the rear doors' electronic latches will fail. Because the doors have a history of mechanical jamming, passengers in the rear seats would be trapped in a vehicle with a compromised High Voltage system.Read more

Issue 1: I reported transmission issued to the dealership/service center where I purchased the car. They assured me its just the electronic transmission trying to find the right gear while driving. Continued to complaint about the jerks and shifting. Dealer warranty expired, then they agreed that I needed a new transmission. Fortunately I had an outside extended warranty otherwise they'd probably
... would have waited until that ended too. Status post the transmission, tuning, sensor replacements, spark plug replacement, and TPMS replacements all in one service. Prior to my warranty expiring, AWD, engine light and hard transmission shifts began with the new transmission. Returned repeatedly from April to November with no resolution. However, they did have me pay to replace sensors I had replaced in April several times and obtain a new battery. Issue 2: After "new" batter the car's electrical issues worsened resulting in a power failure while driving at 75 miles an hour and losing complete control of the vehicle. The power failure shut down the electronic shifter, power steering, All Wheel Drive, Traction control in raining conditions and ultimately the power assisted brakes. returned the vehicle to the service department for additional "testing" after taking a video of the fault messages were the car electrical systems shut down to auto start stop function warning light. I'm a skill driver and was able to avoid crashing during the incidents. The photos are from the latest day I dropped the vehicle off for review I took a video of the vehicle powering down for their records. They are now stating since they can't figure it out maybe I should pay them to replace the electrical wiring harnesses throughout the vehicle; a cost which exceeds the vehicle's worth to me. I'm convinced now more than ever they knew there was an electrical issue with the vehicle but waited me out and if I would have crashed and died all the blame would have been on me.Read more

Then the power train malfunction comes on every time I drive it, Took it back to dealership he updated the software I was told it was a bulletin not a recall and it is going to cost me over 2000.00 to fix since the update didn’t fix the problem. I am truly disappointed but stuck with ford at the moment. How can this not be a recall when you go on and see the hundreds of complaints saying the same thing.Read more
