My 2019 Ford Edge was having engine problems. I was experiencing shuttering at speeds 20-40 mph. My vehicle odometer is at about 104,000 miles. I took the vehicle into Kendall Ford of Marysville, in Marysville Washington. I requested a diagnostic to determine what was causing the shuttering. I offered a Technical Service Bulletin be performed, as it was a bulletin I found when googling the issues
... I was experiencing. After the diagnostic the dealership performed Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) TSB 21-2081. After the TSB was performed and did not resolve the issue the dealership said the root cause of the issue is the Torque Converter. I am currently scheduled to have the maintenance to replace the torque converter on 12/15/2025. I read online there are customers and lawyers investigating this same type of issue by Ford and gathering data for a class action lawsuit as this issue is considered a safety hazard, in which Ford is negligent in taking ownership of the issue and notifying the owners via a safety recall.Read more

... 8 years and 56,000 miles, I am now informed that the PTU is failing because the fluid was never changed. Thus, instead of a simple, cheap fluid change service, I now need to pay around $5,000 for the dealer to change out the entire PTU. 8 years and 56,000 is far from "lifetime" but it just outside of the warranty so I have to pay for this out of pocket despite Jeep claiming that the PTU fluid is not meant to be changed. This is so common of a problem that the PTU part needed to complete this repair is not only out of stock at all dealers, there is a long queue for obtaining the part. This is costing me not just extra repair money but also impacting my daily life as I am out of a vehicle for much longer due to having to wait for an available part. I now also have to pay for other modes of transportation while also being overall limited on my ability to complete daily responsibilities. Clearly, if the PTU fluid is meant to be "lifetime", as I was informed it was meant to be when I purchased the vehicle, it is consistently defective since so many Jeep owners are dealing with this problem. The 10R80 automatic transmission exhibits harsh/delayed shifts, gear-slipping, and occasional unintended downshifts, especially at highway speeds. The specific problem has been confirmed with a dealer and ASE-certified mechanics from the dealership documenting the gear issues, as well as the CDF drum that is a known culprit in the earlier versions of the 2017-2020 F150, based on the poorly designed bushing inside of this drum that slides out of position, resulting in the pressure loss and slippage of gears. In October I brought my car in due to my car not correctly going into park. It almost fully gave out the time the recall started for dodge darts gear shifter, though there were times my car wouldn’t go into park and release the key months before. No other codes were mentioned, other than the ignition switch that was replaced / reconfigured by dodge. Dodge confirmed it was the gear shifter by looking at the part. Due to the shop not knowing what to do, and not being able to fix the problem I haven’t had the best experience with being able to obtain documentation. Their receptionist let me know they deleted the file on my car. Since then I’ve reached out asking for proof of documentation from dodge, and called dodge as well, but haven’t been given the documentation I’ve requested many times.Read more

Date of Incident: December 8, 2025 Mileage at Failure: Approx. 580 miles Vehicle Status: At Tesla Service Center since December 9, 2025 (no repairs started; status shows “Preparing”) Failure Summary While driving 40–45 mph on a busy three-lane road in California, approaching a signalized intersection, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple red warnings, a “Reduced Speed” alert, and num
... erous fault messages. Within 3–5 seconds, propulsion was completely lost. Incident Details Using residual momentum, I steered across two lanes into a nearby retail parking lot. The vehicle stopped at an angle, partially obstructing traffic. Towing Delay & Safety Risk The vehicle remained stranded for ~4 hours. A flatbed tow arrived ~2 hours later but could not load the vehicle due to inoperative Tow Mode. A second dolly-equipped tow truck was required, adding ~90 minutes. During this time, the vehicle continued to block traffic and posed a safety hazard. Component/System Failure Complete propulsion loss and failure of major electrical/control systems, including doors, frunk, trunk, Tow Mode, and non-responsive key card and phone key. Vehicle remains inoperable. Safety Hazard Sudden shutdown in a center lane near a major intersection left almost no opportunity to maneuver safely. Extended roadside immobilization and inoperative Tow Mode further increased risk. Warning Prior to Failure None, except 3–5 seconds of simultaneous red warnings and fault messages. Problem Status Ongoing and unresolved. Tesla has not diagnosed or repaired the vehicle and continues to delay the estimated repair date. Inspections Vehicle is under evaluation at Tesla Service Center. No repairs, police, or insurance inspections have been conducted.Read more

To resolve this issue, I must restart the car and cycle through park, reverse, or neutral before attempting to shift back into park again. It often takes multiple attempts
... to eliminate the error message. My Traverse is currently at the dealership, where I have been informed that it needs a new shifter, which is not covered under warranty. These vehicle is garage kept, one owner & has less than 32k miles on it- I have also discovered that this issue is recognized by GM, with numerous complaints documented on this site alone. Given that this is a widespread problem affecting many owners, it seems unreasonable for us to shoulder the expense of this repair.Read more
