I am reporting a potential safety-related defect involving premature axle failure on Mazda CX-50 vehicles. The axle appears to be prone to early failure under normal driving conditions, sometimes at relatively low mileage. There are multiple reports from other Mazda CX-50 owners describing similar axle or CV axle failures, including clicking noises, vibration, loss of power to the wheels, and com
... plete axle failure. These reports are publicly documented on online owner forums and Reddit, suggesting a pattern rather than isolated incidents. Axle failure can result in sudden loss of propulsion and may increase the risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds or during turns. This appears to be a design or durability issue rather than normal wear and tear. I am concerned this defect affects multiple vehicles and warrants investigation and a potential recall before more failures occur.Read more

After a transmission replacement performed by Bud Clary Chevrolet, Inc. in Longview, WA on September 9, 2025, my vehicle was returned to me with critical components left unsecured. On November 19, 2025, an independent mechanic discovered loose suspension bolts connecting the ball joints to the spindles on both front wheels. On November 29, 2025, Subaru of Portland documented additional unsecured

Subaru of Portland’s written inspection states that the loose bolts would have been unsafe if left uncorrected. These conditions were present after a major repair and created a potential safety hazard while the vehicle was being driven. Incident date: Nov 1, 2024
The failure involves the powertrain, specifically the 10-speed automatic transmission and its internal Transmission Control Valve (TCV) located within the valve body. The transmission has failed, and a GM dealership determined that the entire transmission requires replacement. The vehicle is currently inoperable, and the transmission is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at
... risk due to abnormal transmission behavior. GM issued a recall for this vehicle related to excessive wear of the Transmission Control Valve, which can cause abnormal downshifting and, in some cases, wheel lock-up during downshifts. Sudden or unintended downshifting at speed presents a serious safety risk to the driver and others on the road. The failure has been confirmed by an authorized GM dealership, which diagnosed the transmission failure and stated that a full replacement is required. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, and the recall remedy was performed in July 2025. The recall consisted of a software update to monitor excessive TCV wear, not a mechanical repair. Prior to the complete failure, there were repeated warning signs, including check engine warning lights. The vehicle was brought to the dealership multiple times in March and April 2025 for check engine warnings. After the recall software was installed in July 2025, the vehicle was serviced again in September 2025 with no issues noted at that time. The check engine light returned in November 2025, and on November 11, 2025, the transmission failed completely, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive. Despite proper maintenance and multiple service visits addressing warning indicators, the transmission failed prematurely at approximately 74,000 miles. Given the known recall related to excessive TCV wear and the nature of the failure, this appears to be a defect-related powertrain failure rather than normal wear and tear.Read more

Shortly after purchase, my 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD experienced a sudden and severe electrical burning or melting odor while driving at freeway speed (approximately 75 mph). At the same time, the vehicle produced a loud, continuous whirring or growling noise and experienced a sudden loss of power, as if under heavy load or brak

No visible smoke or fire was observed, but the odor raised serious concern for overheating electrical or hybrid drivetrain components Since the initial incident, the vehicle has experienced multiple similar but less severe events, including intermittent electrical odors, abnormal hybrid noises, hesitation or lag when switching between electric and gasoline operation, and a significant and permanent reduction in fuel economy. The vehicle has been taken to a Ford dealership multiple times for inspection. I requested inspection for signs of overheating or electrical damage. No diagnostic trouble codes were found and the vehicle was returned without repair. I am concerned this condition may involve overheating or failure of hybrid or electrical drivetrain components, such as the inverter, electric motor, or wiring, which may not immediately trigger diagnostic trouble codes but could pose a safety risk. I am also aware of other 2025 Ford Maverick Hybrid owners reporting similar electrical odors, abnormal hybrid noises, and power loss symptoms in public owner forums, suggesting this may not be an isolated incident. My Ford started making a loud noise whenever the accelerator wasn't being pressed, after taking it to the mechanic, he said it is the cracked flex plate. After some light research, it was aparent that this is an issue that Ford's cars have, and ford has tried to make it better by offering free fixes. I contacted the local ford dealer and since the car has 90,000 miles, it would have been covered.
... However, since it doesn't have a clean title, I was declined this service free of charge. I don't agree with this decision since I've been driving this car for over a year since it was purchased off IAA auction, and this issue was made clear only yesterday, but this issue is prevalent in cars like mine. The damage to my car specifically was to the back, and only affected the rear bumper and trunk. Therefore I don't think it is fair that I was declined the serve even though Ford has made it clear it is there manufacturing mistake and they are willing to fix it, just not with cars with my type of title. I was hoping to send in this incident so that this issue becomes a national recall, and more people can get their cars rightfully fixed and aware of this serious issue that can make the car completely unusable before it gets too late. I wasn't aware this was a common issue when purchasing this car, so a recall would protect more people since it will become mandatory information for owners to be aware of this issue.
