Truck would randomly go into limp mode while driving. Highways, country roads, middle of town, making it difficult to pull off the road with no ability to accelerate to safely merge off the roadway. The cause was from the lead frame in the transmission which was under an “expired” recall 19N01. Dealership charged me $1,500 to fix this. How is this not a safety issue that should have been taken

Throttle Lag: when stopped at a stop light/stop sign, there is significant delay from when the gas is depressed and the vehicle moves. This sometimes causes the vehicle to jolt forward and has almost caused accidents.

This has happened to me at least 6-7 times since owning as Jan 2024. Occasionally when stopped at stopped sign or red light, upon releasing brake and pressing gas pedal the engine will stall or stutter causing the vehicle to either hesitate to go and then launch or hesitate and not do anything. After I received a software update for my 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite the car has been stalling when idle. It is very dangerous because I will be at a stop light in drive, and the vehicle will shut off with no power. Cars will be behind me or no cars, and I have almost been rear ended. I did not have this problem until I received the new software update. It keeps occurring more and more often.

When accelerating from a standstill, the car hesitates for 1 to 2 seconds after I press the accelerator pedal. This is a safety concern, especially when merging onto the highway (we have stoplight-controlled merge lanes where I live), where accelerating the vehicle is essential to a safe merge into traffic going 65+ mph. There have been no warning lamps.

I am reporting a safety-related defect involving the 10R80 transmission in my 2019 Ford F-150. The vehicle experiences erratic shifting and loss of power that appears to be caused by a known defect in the transmission’s CDF clutch drum assembly. Ford has issued TSBs for this problem (including TSB 25-2126), which describe axial movement of the CDF drum sleeve leading to hydraulic pressure loss.
... However, this issue has not been addressed through a recall. My vehicle exhibits symptoms consistent with this defect, including: •Harsh and unexpected shifts •Delayed engagement when accelerating •RPM flares and slipping between gears •Loss of power or hesitation during passing, merging, or turning •Sudden or unpredictable shift behavior that affects vehicle control These symptoms occur at random and create unsafe driving conditions, especially when entering traffic or making left turns. The loss of power and inconsistent shift timing can leave the vehicle unable to accelerate when necessary, which creates a potential crash hazard. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting Ford vehicles equipped with the 10R80 transmission from multiple model years. Many owners have reported the same symptoms, and transmission specialists have documented a design flaw in the original CDF drum, where the internal bushing moves out of position and causes hydraulic circuit failure. Ford has quietly released a revised CDF drum, which further indicates that the original design may be defective. Because this defect can cause unpredictable loss of power or abnormal shifting that affects driver control, I believe it constitutes a safety risk and should be investigated. A TSB does not ensure repair unless a failure is already happening, which puts drivers and the public at risk. I am requesting that NHTSA open an investigation into CDF drum failures in the 10R80 transmission and evaluate whether a recall is warranted.Read more

Throttle hesitation. Seems to be a widely experienced issue with many third gen tundra owners. Press the gas, expecting the truck to drive, but it just lags a few seconds, then will finally engage and begin driving. Has put me in some close calls in traffic.
Incident date: Dec 1, 2025
Throttle lag When I accelerate from a stop, such as at a red light or stop sign, after I gently press down on the gas pedal, there is consistently a 1-2 second delay before the truck accelerates. I have had an issue several times which nearly resulted in a traffic accident. The truck has a sudden loss of acceleration where the gas pedal is completely dead. After talking with other Tundra owners, I am not the only one w
... ith this issue. This needs immediate attention. If it is not fixed as soon as possible, I fear that someone will get seriously injured or killed. Please take this matter seriously. I suspect it may have something to do with the pre collision sensor system on the truck. It seems that it happens when there is a slight grade or dip in the road. Perhaps the sensors are at a lower angle due to the dip, making it think there is an object it will hit. The Toyota service centers don’t appear to know why this is happening and cannot reproduce the issue in a short visit.Read more

While driving my 2016 BMW i3 with Range Extender, the vehicle experiences sudden and complete loss of propulsion at very low state of charge (0–1%). The car abruptly loses motive power, forcing me to pull over, sometimes while in traffic. After sitting for several minutes, limited power may return, but the vehicle often shuts down again, and in some cases the Range Extender engine does not engag

BMW has inspected the vehicle twice (07 Nov 2025 and 13 Jan 2026) and confirmed the loss of propulsion and need to pull over but classified the behavior as “normal” without performing high-voltage battery diagnostics. The failure appears consistent with high-voltage battery voltage collapse under load, causing the battery management system to shut down the drivetrain. This is not normal power limiting — it is a sudden drivetrain shutdown that occurs without warning and poses a significant safety hazard.Read more

The vibration/shudder occurs during steady cruising at moderate speeds, which affects vehicle smoothness and driver confidence. Whi
... le no accident occurred, the behavior is unexpected and distracting and could impact safe vehicle operation, particularly during highway driving or when maintaining steady speed in traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The concern has been reported to and evaluated by a Toyota dealership. Diagnostic checks did not produce fault codes, but the symptoms are consistent with torque-converter lock-up issues that occur without triggering warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected by a Toyota dealership service department. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives, as no accident or collision occurred. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights or messages were displayed. Incident Date: [XXX] Vehicle: 2023 Kia Sportage Component(s): Power Train (Automatic Transmission Shifter), Electrical System (Instrument Cluster/Display), Back Over Prevention (Rearview Camera) Description of Incident: On [XXX], while performing a low-speed maneuver in Pittsburgh, PA, the vehicle experienced a catastrophic Shift-by-Wire (SBW) logic failure resulting in a collision. After shiftin
... g the rotary gear selector from Reverse to Drive, the transmission failed to engage the selected gear and remained in Reverse without any auditory or haptic warning to the driver. Simultaneously, the Rear View Monitor (RVM) experienced a "system hang," continuing to display the rear camera feed and blocking the instrument cluster’s gear-position indicator. Due to this dual failure—unintended gear retention and display latency—the vehicle traveled in an unintended direction (Reverse) while I attempted to accelerate forward, leading to a property damage accident. Post-Incident Documentation: The vehicle was presented to Performance Kia (Moosic, PA) on 12/19/25. Technician #957 confirmed the software logic was corrupted and performed a "Clear and Relearn of Adaptive Values" to reset the Transmission Control Module (TCM). This diagnostic confirms that the vehicle was operating with failed control logic. Safety Risk: The failure of the Shift-by-Wire system to accurately execute gear changes, combined with the instrument cluster's failure to provide real-time gear position as required by FMVSS No. 102, creates an unreasonable risk of collision and injury. I was never notified of Recall SC270 or SC275, which address similar software and hydraulic failures in this model year. I later contacted GM Customer Assistance to inquire about reimbursement and was informed that my request was denied solely due to the vehicle exceeding 120,000 miles, despite the fact that: This is a known defect The failure resulted in a dangerous loss of power while driving I was never notified of the special coverage I was also advised that the notification was sent by a government department, yet no department could be identified, and despite multiple requests, I have not received a call back from a manager. Given the seriousness of the safety risk, the lack of notice, and the documented nature of this defect, I am respectfully requesting that GM reconsider my case for reimbursement or goodwill assistance for the turbocharger repair. I have attached copies of my repair invoice, proof of payment, and vehicle documentation for your review. I would appreciate escalation of this matter to a Senior Advisor or District Manager for further consideration. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response. The main issue is the transmission... It shudders. Now I have to change the oil every 10K miles on it, or it will start shuddering again. It first started when the truck had 50K or a little more miles in it. The issue was resolved, I thought... Then it did it again at 69K (Just out of the warranty). I called the dealership and they stated I had to pay if I wanted an oil change, and they could no
... t do an oil flush even if I paid for it. So I said OK, I will take it to a mechanic, and I did and "fixed" the problem. I used the oil GM recommended and the shuddering stopped. BUT then, another 10K miles and it starts again. I have changed the oil a lot of times... It now has 128K miles in it, and this last time, I had to change the oil at 9k miles because of the shuddering... What will be next? I will have to change it at 5K miles, just like the motor oil? It is sad to see all these people having the same issue as I do, and GM does not do anything about it. I've done a lot of research... There is a guy that fixes the issue eliminating a specific valve, in the transmission, and updating the other ones with higher quality valves they make to fix the problem. I'm sure it would cost GM some money, but these trucks are expensive, you know? It is sad that no one is trying to help consumers when companies sale these cars and trucks to the public for a very high price and they do not take care of the mistakes they make when producing them. Please help us making GM fix this transmission issues. It is not fare for us consumers to be having trouble with new vehicles. Thank you for your time.Read more

(Current approx mileage of occurance 104,xxx -105,xxx)The transmission on my 2019 Ford F150 abruptly started to run really bad. The transmission started slamming gears, hard shifting, delayed shifting, delayed acceleration. The shifting was slamming to hard, that it felt like another vehicle hit me in the rear. I called a local Ford dealership on 1/7/2026 to make an appointment to get the software
... updated (TSB 21-2145), the earliest appointment I was able to get was 1/13/2026. I drove the truck again on Sunday (1/11/2026) for church, and upon returning home, the wrench icon appeared on my dash board. I did not drive the truck again until 1/13/26 for the appointment. I took the truck in on my appointment and shared my concerns with the technician about it being a bigger problem than a software update, and he assured me he would complete proper inspection and diagnostics. After the tech completed the software update (& reset shift tables) the truck drove worse. He informed me, he believes the truck will need a replaced transmission. On my way home the truck drove worse, Slamming gears harder, and hesitating worse, worse delayed acceleration. The truck is not safe to drive. I took it to another reputable transmission shop in town 1/15 for a 2nd opinion, and he concluded the same. Transmission needs to be replaced. The frustrating thing in all of this, is I had an extended warranty on the truck through 100k miles. I took the truck in to the local Ford Dealer for a full inspection at 99,xxx miles to verify all was good, and if it wasn't then I would like to use my warranty for repairs. I was given a bill of good health. And approx 5000 miles later, I now need a full transmission replacement? I am getting no-where with Ford. I even tried my insurance company, and am getting no help there either. I still owe a balance on my truck, and now I've got to figure out a $8k-11k repair.Read more

Peterbilt has a recall 24V190 for the right hand shifter stalk. This VIN is not on the recall list however it does have the defective shift stalk and has been replaced 3 times prior to the recall. The most recent replacement was 8/20/24 replaced with the same defective part #. How do I get this truck on the recall list?

I have a 2023 GMC Sierra HD3500 6.6 Duramax. February of 2025 the valve body failed after 23,000 miles. The failure happened when the transmission had an extremely hard shift at 55 mph and then went into 5 gear limp mode. Computer through code P0700 and P0747. The P0747 is the code that tells you the valve body failed. When I took the truck to the dealer, they would not let me take the truck home
... because of the high risk of the transmission locking up and causing bodily injury, aka crash. Since the valve body was back ordered, I was warmed that it may be a month to get a replacement and install it. I finally got the truck back after 33 days. To add to the frustration, GM would not give me a loaner truck. They would give me a loaner SUV but that did not have what I needed out of a vehicle.Read more

My car started having issues with the hybrid system, with fault alerts related to the drive motor control module, hybrid powertrain control module, and battery energy control module in the transmission, and the vehicle is available for inspection if needed. The engine light had been on for about a week, and I was waiting for availability at work to take it to a mechanic. While driving around 70 mp
... h on the highway, a “Propulsion Power Reduced” message suddenly came on and the car started limiting its speed. As I kept driving, the power continued to drop, making it unsafe to stay at highway speeds and putting both me and other drivers at risk since the car couldn’t keep up with traffic and could slow down unexpectedly. I took it to an independent mechanic who confirmed the issue and warned me it was dangerous to drive because the speed would keep decreasing as power dropped. So far, only an independent mechanic has inspected it. After doing some research, I found this is a very common problem with 2016–2018 Chevy Volts, with many people reporting similar situations where their cars lost power or started jerking at high speeds and they had to pull over.Read more
