My vehicle has an ongoing safety‑critical defect involving the braking system, powertrain, and ADAS logic. I have not driven the vehicle since 04/27/2026; all diagnostic trouble codes were recorded while the vehicle was in the dealership’s possession. On 05/05/2026, the vehicle stored multiple DTCs, including C164286, P071300, P076800, U060FF1, U060F29, and U061386. On 05/13/2026, P071300, P07
... 6800, U060FF1, U060F29, and U061386 were recorded again, showing repeated powertrain, communication, and control‑system faults while the vehicle remained with the dealer. On 05/22/2026, two additional safety‑related DTCs (P107600 and C272146) were first recorded, and both were last reported again on 05/27/2026, still while the vehicle was in dealer custody. These DTCs now show as Historical because the vehicle has not been operated since the last fault was recorded. Their Historical status only means the system has not run a new check — it does not mean the defect is repaired. The vehicle has also exhibited brake‑logic abnormalities, including a persistent Brake‑ON signal at highway speeds, which violates Brake‑Throttle Override safety logic and affects ADAS functions. The powertrain shows signs of torque converter instability, mechanical drag, abnormal slip, and heat buildup documented across these dates. Two OTA updates were performed during periods of instability, but neither corrected the defect. The dealership has not provided documentation confirming the safety issues were resolved. Because the braking logic, powertrain behavior, and repeated DTC activity remain unexplained and unresolved, I do not believe the vehicle is safe to operate.Read more

2022 Hyundai Sonata N Line, VIN [XXX] , purchased August 15, 2025 with low mileage under original manufacturer warranty. Within 3 months, recurring transmission and drivability failures began. Six repair visits since November 2025; 71+ cumulative days out of service within 8 months. Visit 1 (11/24/25, 14,748 mi): Hesitation/failure to accelerate from stop. Could not duplicate. Visit 2 (12/4/25, 1
... 4,800 mi): Same concern. Fault codes found; auxiliary pump and relay replaced. Visit 3 (1/19/26, 15,982 mi): Check engine light, jerking. External oil pump leaking; replacement required. Visit 4 (1/30/26, 16,025 mi): Check engine light. TCU update, DCT learning performed; declared resolved. Visit 5 (2/19/26, 16,119 mi): Check engine light returned. Transmission oil pump failed; replaced. Visit 6 (4/14/26, 16,945 mi — OPEN 44+ days): Post-repair lurching, infotainment failure, ongoing jerking. On 5/28/26, the service manager at McDonough Hyundai (McDonough, GA) stated the vehicle likely requires a complete transmission replacement and disclosed approximately 4 additional vehicles at the same dealership with identical unresolved issues. Hyundai Motor America refuses to authorize repairs or Techline escalation unless the dealership confirms the intermittent concern — a structural barrier that prevents warranty resolution. Safety concern: repeated failure to accelerate normally from a stop creates direct risk of rear-end collision or inability to clear intersections. My engine with less than 5,000 miles died (engine was blown). While driving on highway engine died and wheels locked and almost caused a major accident. I had to get a tow and bill cost me 700.00. While pulling up to a drive thru window the vehicle shuddered and the engine shut off. I lost all power steering and had to come to a stop, shift into park, then restart the engine. No check engine lights or warnings illuminated. There were no status messages to indicate what caused it to shut off. Also the driver side mirror shakes a lot, just like all the other reports say.

This vehicle was bought brand new and has received proper maintenance from one dealership since purchasing. I had to replace the thermostat and radiator before owning the vehicle three years. Within two years of owning the vehicle, my battery went out, which I thought seemed a little early. Then shortly after, I noticed that my locks weren’t engaging when I took my car out of park. Then my ca
... r wouldn’t even lock. When I tried to do it on the door control, nothing happened, then when I used my key to do it, it caused the alarm to go off and I couldn’t get it to stop. This resolved after a day, and then it rained again, and it started again. This time, my car wouldn’t unlock and I was trapped in my vehicle and had to open the trunk to get out. This is a known issue according to GMC with no fix. I took it to the dealer, and the codes were saying BCM and told it was being replaced but instead was “serviced”. This issue has begun again, and now I’m being told the locks are the issue and not the BCM, and that may not be covered under warranty. Not being able to get out of your vehicle or not being able to lock your car is a safety issue for passengers leaving them vulnerable to theft, someone entering their car while they’re in it and hurting them. I have had so many issues out of this vehicle and I do not believe I should have to pay for a repair that is a safety issue KNOWN TO THE COMPANY. I feel unsafe driving this vehicle now and it doesn’t even have 60k on it. So I’ve estimated on the date of the first incident and the new one just Happened this week. The information about this issue can be obtained from my dealership and GMC as it is a known issue with no real fix.Read more

On Dec 3, 2025, the dealer confirmed active DTC P1326 (KSDS) and documented failed cylinder compression (as low as 150 PSI; min spec is 178 PSI). The dealer issued a written diagnosis stating: "engine replacement is required." MANUFACTURER CONDUCT: Despite their own dealer's written diagnosis and the active P1326 safety code, Kia Corporate issued a bad-faith warranty denial. The dealer also unlawfully charged me $165 for the mandatory KSDS warranty diagnostics. SUMMARY: This is a textbook safety failure under NHTSA Investigation EA 21-003. 2016 Ford F-150 experiencing intermittent and dangerous transmission behavior consistent with the current Ford safety recall involving unexpected transmission downshifts on vehicles equipped with the 6R80 transmission. Vehicle previously required a full transmission replacement/rebuild in September 2025 after repeated violent downshifting and drivability problems. Diagnostic codes at that time in
... cluded P0705, P0707, P1702, and P1921 involving transmission range sensor and intermittent transmission signal faults. Following the rebuild, intermittent drivability concerns continued. Over several months, vehicle would periodically not “sound right” during operation, although symptoms were difficult to duplicate consistently. Check engine light would intermittently illuminate after approximately one hour or more of continuous driving and later clear itself after vehicle cooled down overnight. Current symptoms have worsened and include unexpected downshifting, inability to manually shift using dash controls, skipped gears, delayed downshifts/upshifts, remaining in 3rd gear while slowing to a stop, and behavior consistent with being stuck in low gear while traveling above 50 mph with excessively high RPMs. Vehicle intermittently appears unable to properly determine gear position. On May 19, 2026 I experienced uncontrollable downshifting and engine revving that resulted in an inability to safely operate the vehicle. Transmission behavior creates unsafe driving conditions and concern for loss of vehicle control during highway operation. Vehicle is now considered unsafe to operate and will be towed to a Ford dealership for evaluation related to the active safety recall.Read more

NHTSA ODI Case Update – Supplement to Complaint #XXX Vehicle: 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus (VIN: [XXX] ) Subject: Dealership Deflection Tactics and Denial of Recall Repair Verification This statement is submitted to update my ongoing federal safety complaint regarding the catastrophic failure of the Mopar Two-Speed Power Transfer Unit (PTU) and the resulting loss of motive power/r
... ollaway risks. On May 19, 2026, the vehicle was evaluated by an authorized FCA dealership, St. Helens Auto Center (Repair Order #XXX). The certified technician, Don Stockdale, explicitly confirmed the mechanical failure of the recall-associated components, stating in writing: “the propeller shaft at the rear of the PTU feels as though it is dry inside. Very loose and clanking around.” Despite verifying this severe manufacturing safety defect, Service Manager April McCall formally refused to submit a corporate Goodwill or Warranty Extension claim to FCA unless I paid out-of-pocket to replace three CV axles, which she claimed were "loose and dry." To verify this claim, the vehicle was immediately taken to a secondary licensed automotive facility (Dr. Auto LLC, Invoice #XXX) on May 27, 2026. The independent inspection confirmed that the dealership’s diagnosis was fraudulent. All CV axle boots are completely intact and sealed, meaning the internal grease has not escaped. The front axles have zero play, and the rear axles exhibit only normal, minor factory play. The dealership intentionally used a loaded 4-post lift to misdiagnose the vehicle, leveraging the high-frequency vibrations of the failing central PTU to fabricate secondary, non-covered user-pay repairs. This is a deliberate corporate tactic used to deflect financial liability for a known federal safety defect onto the consumer. I am requesting that the NHTSA review these attached service documents as evidence of predatory dealership behavior surrounding the Cherokee PTU failures. While driving my 2023 Nissan Rogue on Interstate xxx from [XXX] to [XXX] with my xxx daughter in the vehicle, the vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warnings including collision assist/sensor malfunction warnings, start/stop system failure warnings, and “check owner’s manual” messages. Immediately afterward, the vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and refusal to accelerate. At the
... time of failure, I was traveling approximately 78 mph in the fast lane of the interstate. The vehicle rapidly lost speed and dropped into what appeared to be limp mode, eventually slowing into the upper 50 mph range despite pressing the accelerator. I had to fight across multiple lanes of freeway traffic while unable to maintain highway speed. This created an extremely dangerous situation due to surrounding high-speed traffic and limited safe shoulder access in a remote desert area. The vehicle became unsafe to continue driving and required a tow of over 70 miles to the nearest Nissan dealership. The tow expense alone exceeded $600. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had already experienced a separate unexplained no-power/no-start event. At that time, the battery, starter, and alternator reportedly tested normal. The vehicle remains within the manufacturer’s 5 year/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and currently has active recalls associated with the vehicle. A Nissan case has been opened and the vehicle is pending dealer diagnosis and inspection. After posting publicly about this incident in Nissan owner groups, I identified numerous other owners reporting nearly identical symptoms involving warning light cascades, sudden loss of acceleration, limp mode events, and highway safety concerns. This incident created a serious safety hazard involving sudden highway deceleration and loss of motive power during interstate travel. The 10R80 transmission CDF drum failed due to a defective bushing housing, resulting in the replacement of the 10R80 transmission. The diagnosis of the failure took 3 weeks because there were no warning lights or engine codes. The symptoms of the failure were erratic shifting in heavy highway traffic, causing harsh up/down shifts and shift patterns. The erratic shifting makes driving feel unsafe,
... as the vehicle may lurk or seem to lose power. Currently, with the new 10R80 transmission with the redesigned CDF drum bushing housing, similar symptoms of erratic up/down shift going between 20-40 mph and between gears 3-7 are present. The vehicle is going back in to the shop for diagnosis and potential repairsRead more

Service four-wheel-drive light came on. Took Vehicle to the Jeep dealer for inspection and paid $220.94 diagnostic fee. Jeep dealer stated that the power transfer unit had an internal failure code C1487–97. Dealership quoted a repair cost of $2836.75. Dealership stated the part was on backorder and would not be available for weeks or months or longer. Although there are three recalls specificall

While driving my 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, the vehicle experienced a sudden power and drivability issue. The vehicle began to decelerate on its own while in motion, even though I was actively driving. A warning notification appeared on the driver dashboard, and shortly after, the vehicle power shut off. This creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle can unexpectedly lose speed and/or pow
... er while driving in traffic. The issue appears to involve the transmission, powertrain, or vehicle electrical/power management system. The loss of acceleration and sudden deceleration could increase the risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds or in heavy traffic. This incident occurred while the vehicle was being driven, not while parked. The warning message appeared on the dash before or during the power loss. I am reporting this because the vehicle’s sudden deceleration and power shutdown while driving could be a safety defect. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether this issue is related to a known defect, recall, transmission issue, powertrain control issue, or electrical system failure affecting the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox.Read more

In 2025 I took my truck in for a recall reference 24S37 which was a software update to prevent intermittent failure of my output shaft sensor in my transmission. My sensor is now failed and FORD is claiming that there is no remedy for coverage as I already did the software update but my truck is still experiencing problems

While driving, the vehicle suddenly began running rough, losing power, and displaying engine warning lights. Due to the severity of the issue, the vehicle was towed to a GMC dealership for diagnosis. The dealership diagnosed lifter failure and a cracked cylinder head. The dealership also documented coolant intrusion, oil/coolant contamination, and evidence of internal engine damage. Repairs were
... attempted, including replacement of the cylinder head and lifter. After the repairs were completed, the vehicle never left the dealership because it continued misfiring on the same cylinder. GM later determined the engine had a failed piston ring and scored engine block requiring complete engine replacement. The vehicle has approximately 55,000 miles, has been properly maintained, and was purchased new. This catastrophic engine failure resulted in loss of power and major internal engine damage at relatively low mileage. I also opened a case directly with GM Customer Assistance regarding this failure. The case involved multiple escalations after the initial repair attempt failed and the vehicle ultimately required full engine replacement. GM ultimately advised that only partial assistance toward the engine replacement would be provided, leaving the customer responsible for a significant portion of the repair cost. I am submitting this complaint because this vehicle appears consistent with the ongoing NHTSA investigation involving GM 6.2L L87 engine failures and loss of motive power.Read more

Engine displayed overheating, after diagnostic test by Corwin ford in nampa, Idaho, they said it needs gaskets and short block replacement and that there was a technical service bulletin issued by ford for my vehicle. The cost is astronomical and I feel it should be a recall issue since it is a known problem.

Vehicle experienced hesitation and intermittent delayed acceleration beginning around 2018, with symptoms progressively worsening over time. In the past week, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle began experiencing significant acceleration delay from stops, including engine revving without proper acceleration for approximately 5-10 seconds. In some cases, the vehicle would not accele
... rate until the engine was turned off and restarted. Vehicle also became unusually loud during acceleration. Independent repair shop retrieved DTC codes P0776 (Pressure Control Solenoid B Performance/Stuck Off) and P1715 (Input Speed Sensor Primary Speed). Research identified Nissan Technical Service Bulletin NTB15-086d describing these exact codes and symptoms, including hesitation and reduced power in 2014-2016 Nissan Rogue vehicles equipped with CVT transmissions. Condition creates a safety risk because vehicle may fail to accelerate properly when entering traffic, crossing intersections, or merging. Problem has been reproduced multiple times and confirmed by repair shop diagnostic codes. Vehicle has approximately 131,954 miles.Read more
