I own a 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan SE R-Line purchased new in August 2025. Since shortly after purchase, the vehicle has exhibited a recurring safety defect where the electronic parking brake engages without driver input and the vehicle shifts itself into Park. This happens suddenly and without warning. This defect occurs multiple times per week, on average (upwards of 50+ times total since purchase)
... under varied low-speed conditions, including at stoplights, while slowly moving through traffic, and during parking maneuvers, etc. When it occurs, the vehicle stops abruptly as Park is engaged. This creates a significant risk of being rear-ended or losing control in an intersection or traffic lane. There are no warning lights, chimes, or alerts beforehand. The behavior is intermittent and unpredictable, so there is no way to anticipate or prevent it during normal driving. This has not yet caused a collision, but there have been near-miss situations in traffic due to the sudden stop. I notified the dealership when the vehicle was new, but because the model had only recently been released and the defect could not be reproduced on demand, there was no formal inspection or repair, and no guidance was provided. The issue has continued multiple times per week since then. I have now found other 2025 Tiguan owners reporting the same behavior, which suggests this may be a broader safety defect rather than an isolated case. I am requesting an investigation due to the frequency of occurrence and the clear collision risk associated with unintended braking and shifting into Park.Read more

Component/System Failure: The electronic throttle control system malfunctioned. The vehicle is reporting powertrain diagnostic trouble codes P2118 and P2101 through the Hyundai manufacturer mobile application (Bluelink), indicating an electronic throttle actuator / throttle control motor issue. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: This malfunction poses a safety risk
... because it can cause sudden loss of throttle response, reduced engine power (limp mode), or stalling while driving. Loss of throttle control increases the risk of a crash, especially in traffic or at intersections. Reproduction / Confirmation: The issue is ongoing. The check engine light remains illuminated and the fault codes continue to be displayed in the Hyundai mobile application. The problem has not yet been diagnosed by a dealership due to lack of immediate service availability. Inspections Performed: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a Hyundai dealership or the manufacturer due to delayed service appointments. The transmission has completely gone out on my 2020 Ford edge the repair cost is $5500. I should not need a new transmission on a five year-old vehicle. There are several reports on this issue please advise.
Incident date: Jan 26, 2026
I have < 60K on this Edge. The transmission needed replacing (out of warranty barely). This is my wife’s vehicle. She’s been retired for three years and hardly drives it. This is not a fair wear and tear replacement. It jerked and bucked between 15 and 40 miles an hour. There is even a Ford service bulletin on it. That’s not elevated to a recall. I worked with the dealership and Ford gave me
... $2000 off the final bill, but they should’ve given me a new transmission for nothing and I would’ve paid for labor. That seemed fair. You would think that if there is a major service bulletin on it, then Ford would work with you or at least get extend some Goodwill. I believe the Ford rep gave me $2000 off but they should’ve supplied the transmission because it was a quality control issue not a use issue. It’s very disappointing. I have two other vehicles that are 15 and 14 years old, so I take care of my vehicles. This one however, surprise me out of the blue with the bad transmission with less than 60,000 miles on it. I spoke with Ford and I worked with the dealership, but the best they could do was take a little off the bill. That was Ford’s doing not the dealerships. I thought Ford would take care of their people better as it’s my fourth Ford. Just disappointing as hell.Read more

During a winter storm in approximately 10°F weather, my vehicle became immobilized due to a no-start condition. The starter initially engaged and cranked the engine several times, then failed and would only free-spin without turning the engine. After this occurred, the vehicle could not be shifted into neutral because it is equipped with an electronic shift-by-wire transmission. The only method t
... o move the vehicle requires a proprietary Honda mechanical neutral-release tool (07AAA-TZ3A100). This tool was not supplied with the vehicle, was not available to the owner or responding tow operators, costs over $200, and local Honda dealerships do not carry it in stock. As a result, it was not possible to obtain the tool in an emergency situation. Two flatbed tow trucks responded. Both operators stated the only way to load the vehicle would be to drag it while locked in park, which would likely cause damage to the transmission, drivetrain, or tires. This was not a safe or acceptable option. As a result, occupants were stranded from approximately 1:00 PM until 6:30 PM in 10°F weather with no heat, because the vehicle could not be moved. A single common mechanical failure should not render a vehicle completely immobile with no accessible emergency override. Requiring a costly, proprietary tool that is not provided with the vehicle and not available to dealers or emergency responders creates a serious safety risk due to cold exposure and inability to move or clear the vehicle during emergency conditions.Read more

My vehicle, VIN [XXX] , was operating normally when a check engine light appeared, along with a message indicating engine malfunction and loss of power. I took the vehicle to an authorized Nissan dealership, Reed Nissan Orlando, where I was assisted by service advisor Aaron Berning. At the dealership, I was informed that the vehicle had an active turbocharger recall, which could be related to the
... issue. The recall repair was performed; however, the vehicle was returned to me with the check engine light still illuminated and continued loss of power, despite having no such issues prior to the recall service. The dealership documented an engine problem in writing on the service invoice (Invoice No. XXX, dated 09/04/2025) but refused to repair it, stating that the issue was not covered under the recall. Despite the problem arising immediately after the recall repair, I was required to pay out-of-pocket for a diagnostic inspection. Approximately one week later, the vehicle again experienced engine failure and significant loss of power, making it unusable. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs (Nissan North America), but after reviewing the dealership’s position, Nissan chose to uphold the decision not to cover the repairs. Due to the unresolved mechanical issue, the vehicle became inoperable, causing loss of income, as I rely on the vehicle for work with delivery and rideshare services. I was ultimately unable to continue payments on the financed vehicle, resulting in repossession by the lender. I am submitting this complaint as a last resort and respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and investigated, as the vehicle did not present these issues prior to the recall service. My 2018 Traverse has had several issues the past few years such as the electrical components in the car turning on and off randomly, a shift to park message which has been fixed twice, and the most current problem is the transmission. I was out of town 160 miles away with my family of 6 and we were about to drive home when the engine started to sound forced while I was driving. It wouldn't go pas
... t 30 mph and I had to quickly and safely get off the road and look for a mechanic. Had we already gotten on the freeway my family would have been in much more danger. After driving cautiously to 2 mechanics they referred us to a transmission service location. We had to leave the car there for several hours and came to find out that the transmission needed to be replaced and it would cost anywhere between $4,000-$9,000 depending on if they try to fix our transmission or replace it with another transmission and the cost would depend on the warranty years. We ended up getting it towed home so that our local mechanic can take a look at it. We still haven't gotten it fixed because the repair cost is so high and we can't afford it. For being a 2018 and only having 65,000 miles we should not be having transmission issues. We also took it in to our local Chevy service dealer who confirmed the transmission needs to be repaired or replaced and an accurate cost is unknown until they open it but the first estimate was $10,000. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I did see there was a recall for transmission issues for this make and model but it doesn't come up for my VIN. I really hope that Chevrolet can apply the recall to all VIN numbers affected because it is a very costly repair and has put my families safety at risk. It should not keep happening to others.Read more

I purchased this vehicle new 7/31/25. Within the first week of ownership I noticed a noise coming from the rear axle. Brought into Ford dealer for diagnosis at 723 miles: tech notes indicated that the abs tone ring was not manufactured correctly and was hitting the ABS wheel speed sensor. The sensor had visible impact marks. The rear axle assembly was replaced under warranty. The repair took over
... 10 days. At this point I was concerned about the Q/C and build quality of the vehicle. I asked Ford for an extended warranty as a goodwill gesture, which was denied. This failure was related to a Federally regulated safety system: ABS brakes. ~5 months later on 1/8/26 (12, 336 miles), I attempted to place the vehicle in park using column shifter, a service light came on and the truck was not responding to the shifter input. I turned the truck off with the parking brake engaged, restarted truck and another warning light came on saying place vehicle into park. The truck would not start and I was left stranded without warning. The vehicle was towed to the nearest dealer. Diagnosis revealed the shifter module was faulty and needed to be replaced. Ford had a TSB about this issue. The repair took 7 days. At this point I'm extremely concerned about the reliability of this vehicle. This has been two major failures within less than 6 months of ownership. Ford contacted me asking how my experience was with the vehicle. I informed them I was very disappointed and had safety concerns. I asked for an extended warranty which was denied. I then escalated the ticket to asking for a voluntary buyback from Ford. Ford notified me that I didn't meet the criteria for a voluntary buyback and the claim was denied. Due to the repeated failures I do not feel safe continuing to drive this vehicle and I want Ford to step in and assist with this matter.Read more

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 6:50 AM, I experienced a serious safety-related malfunction in my 2023 Toyota Mirai while entering traffic on Inglewood Avenue in Lawndale, California. I was pulling out of a parking lot into active traffic at low speed. At the moment I was entering the roadway, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion/power without warning. Simultaneously, the vehicle’s infota
... inment/center display went completely black, consistent with a system reboot or electrical interruption. After a brief pause, the display rebooted and turned back on, and immediately afterward the vehicle unexpectedly surged forward. At the time of the power loss, my foot was lightly on the accelerator pedal as I was merging. When the vehicle’s systems reinitialized, the car applied power consistent with the pedal position, resulting in a sudden forward movement. The accelerator was not fully depressed, and this was not a full-throttle event, but the surge occurred without warning while the vehicle was in active traffic. The sequence of events — loss of propulsion, apparent electronic system reset, followed by unintended propulsion upon re-engagement — created a hazardous situation while entering traffic and raises serious concerns about the vehicle’s electronic control and power management systems. The vehicle’s behavior was unpredictable at a critical moment when controlled acceleration was required, which could have resulted in a collision or injury. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the event. I am reporting this incident because it appears to involve a safety defect related to loss of propulsion and unintended surge while in motion.
