THE DEALER DISCOVERED THAT MY VALVE BODY HAD 3 MELTED BOLTS, MY VALVE BODY WAS DAMAGED, AND THAT MY CLUTCHES HAD BURNED OUT. THE DEALER PROCEEDED TO INSTALL A NEW VALVE BODY, FORWARD CLUTCH, OVERDRIVE CLUTCH, PISTON, SEALS, AND GASKETS. AT 9,702 MILES MY CAR RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SHIFTING PROBLEMS AND POOR OVERALL TRANSMISSION OPERATION. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL AT THIS TIME. I BELIEVE THAT I WAS TOLD THIS BECAUSE THERE ARE NO MORE REPAIRS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF FORD GIVING EVERYONE THE RUN AROUND ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS. THE TOTAL COST OF REPAIRS WOULD BE $4,300.00 AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY FORD. I WAS INCENSED TO SAY THE LEAST...AFTER GETTING A SECOND OPINION, I PAID AN ADDITIONAL $475.00 AND HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP WHICH MADE THE REPAIRS WITHOUT ANY COST TO ME. THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT REPLACED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. I REPLACED THE TANK AND PAID $750.00 OUT OF POCKET...DECEMBER 27, 2010 (96,000 MILES) WITHOUT WARNING, TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO SLIP. I CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT MADE THE LAST REPAIRS. WHEN LOOKING UP THE TYPES OF FAILURES THAT OTHER HONDA ACCORDS HAVE HAD, THIS IS RIGHT IN LINE WITH THEM. AGAIN LUCKILY I WAS AT A FREEWAY EXIT AND COULD COAST OFF THE FREEWAY. SO MY 3 MOST EXPENSIVE BILLS (AND NONE OF THE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED -$1800. FOR BRAKE CALIPERS, ROTORS AND PADS. $1100 FOR WIRE SET, MANIFOLD SET, FUEL FILTER AND WATER PUMP. $350 FOR HEADLAMP SWITCH AND DASH LIGHT PROBLEMS. I AM PUTTING NO MORE MONEY INTO THIS CAR AND UP UNTIL LAST NIGHT I WAS LOOKING FOR A BUICK BUT NEVER AGAIN. I DIDN'T PUT THE MILEAGE DOWN WHEN THESE INCIDENTS HAPPENED BECAUSE THE SYMPTOMS ARE ONGOING!!! IT LOOKS LIKE 1000'S OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN IGNORED THROUGH THE YEARS AND THE BRAKE ISSUE AS WELL AS SHUTTING DOWN GOING 70 MPH ARE BOTH SAFETY ISSUES WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED IN A RECALL MANY YEARS AGO!!!
