On 02/08/23 I had the ZA3 - transmission dipstick, and transmission vent recall completed at Lovegreen Chrysler in Kirksville, MO. Nobody at RAM, or the dealership told me that after completion of the recall the new “dipstick” would be a substandard part, that it isn’t a functional dipstick at all. I am now unable to check the Automatic Transmission Fluid on my $90,000 RAM 2500 Limited truck
... . I called the dealer to see if they had any old dipsticks that I could have to check my fluid level in the future, and they didn’t. I called RAM, and the rep was barely comprehensible, and seemed to believe I was saying the recall wasn’t completed correctly, he told me to go back to the dealer. I told him the recall was completed correctly, but Stellantis chose a substandard non-functional dipstick as a replacement for the recall. The rep refused to transfer me, and refused to escalate my case. My only option now seems to be to be a so called “defective” dipstick which I will use to check the fluid (this will cost around $35). Or to buy a custom locking, and functional dipstick (this will cost around $65, and is likely the route I will go). I demand that Stellantis/RAM pay for this, as I am now unable to check my transmission fluid level in my 1 year old $90,000 truck, which is completely unacceptable.Read more

... ear. No warning light or console messages. We had been notified in July 2020 of recall 22V413 from Ford, but parts were not available. We had just a few days (In November) before received the second recall notice that said parts were now available. I feel as if the recall was not competed timely (5 Months). I believe that the car was not going into gear because of the recall part potential failure affecting the transmission as the recall notice stated that the vehicle could "move in an unexpected direction". We had the vehicle towed home and to the dealer (Gosch Ford, Temecula, CA). We informed them of the issue and asked that the recall repair be done. The service writer told us they would do the recall service, but there was no way any transmission damage could have been caused by the recall. I disagreed and stated that the notice states that the vehicle may move unexpectedly, what if the part failed while driving? How would the vehicle behave? The were evasive and did not answer me directly. They told me that they had been instructed by Ford to not forward any claims for transmission damage related to the recall. We called after 2 days of service and they said the service was complete, the recall part had indeed broken and that the car was shifting normally. Upon picking up the car, my wife drove off the lot and immediately upon leaving the driveway, the drive gear again failed. She had to pull to the right to a bike lane to avoid traffic closing from behind. Service writer stated that car was not road tested before being returned. The transmission skips gears. It shifts from 1 to 3 and 3 to 5 skipping 2 and 4 gears and I took to dealership and they said it’s normal. When it shifts from 3 to 5 it’s jerks all the time and it’s not a smooth shift like every other shifts so there’s something wrong with transmission or software. Recently I had issues while driving on freeway around 70-75 mph the truck was on 10th gear an

The truck don’t have engine light on but it definitely have some transmission issues and dealerships doesn’t respond as there’s no codes and I have extended warranty and dealership wants to charge me money for inspection. This VIN needs to be updated clearly because I was experiencing transmission issues that were extremely unsafe causing the vehicle to jerk left and ride on the road as well as not go into reverse - I almost got killed by upcoming traffic!!!! My truck is subject to NHTSA Recall No. 19V075000 (Ford recall no. 19507), involving a defect which causes the transmission to suddenly and without warning downshift from a high gear into first gear, at highway speeds. This happened to me driving on an interstate highway. Fortunately, at the time i was traveling at only approximately 40 mph. The wheels locked causing the truck to skid suddenly,
... and I was able to shift to neutral and drive to the shoulder. I brought the truck to Livermore Ford dealership for repair on August 31, 2022. They acknowledged the truck was subject to recall, wrote up a repair order. They claimed to have reprogrammed the transmission. Several days later, the same shifting problems occurred. I returned the truck to the same dealership on September 7, 2022. Again they acknowledged the truck was subject to a safety recall for this problem, and said they had to order a part to repair the recalled defect. The part was referred to as a "molded lead frame" which apparently contains the defective module which erroneously reads the vehicle speed a 0 mph even though it may actually be traveling at highway speed. They told me the part would be delivered in early October, and advised me not to drive the vehicle. The work order specifically states: "DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING THE VEHICLE." I contacted the dealership on October 6, and they advised me that the part had not arrived and they had no idea when it would be delivered because the manufacturer would not ship parts until there were more claims. I filed a complaint with Ford (case # CAS 38990194) on October 7, and was advised I would be contacted with updates. I have called and emailed numerous times, and Ford has not returned any calls or responded to my emails. In essence, Ford has failed and/or refused to repair the recalled safety defect on my truck, and is refusing to provide me with any information as to why it has not been repaired and when it will be repaired.Read more
