MY 2004 FORD FREESTAR HAD A CATASTROPHIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR. MY CAR HAS ONLY 88K MILES AND GAVE ABSOLUTELY NO INDICATION OF ANYTHING MECHANICALLY WRONG PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. I BOUGHT A 2003 HONDA ODYSSEY VAN FROM A HONDA DEALER IN BOWIE MARYLAND. IT HAD (30,000) MILES ON IT, I PUT DOWN ($3000) CASH TOWARDS THE PURCHASE. I HAVE BEEN UP TO DATE WITH THE SERVICE MAINTENANCE AT THE SAME BOWIE DEALER. LAST MONTH JUST (2) YEARS AFTER THE PURCHASE THE LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH BOARD I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AFTER EXAMINING IT THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOUL

HE SUGGESTED REBUILDING THE TRANSMISSION. I HAD TO GET THE VAN FIXED QUICKLY AS I NEEDED THE VAN FOR THE FAMILY, IT COST ($3400) WHICH I PUT ON MY CREDIT CARD. ALSO THE POWER OUTLETS WERE NO LONGER WORKING, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO RIDE ROUGH, THE SEAT WOULD GRIND AND VIBRATE, THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THE BRAKE HARDWARE KIT WAS FALLING APART, THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING OIL AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE GASKETS, THE TRUNK WOULDN'T OPEN. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, MY GEAR SHIFT STARTED "STICKING" IN PARK. WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE WITHOUT A LOT OF COAXING. WHAT I DID WAS TO KEEP PUMPING THE BRAKES AND AFTER ABOUT 10 OR SO PUMPS, THE GEAR SHIFT WOULD RELEASE. MORE RECENTLY, MY CAR WILL JUST DIE EVEN WHEN I AM GOING OVER 40 MPH.
