THE TRANSMISSION ON MU 2008 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED HAS OVERHEATING ISSUES. THE VENT TUBE FOR WHEN THIS HAPPENS WAS PLACED BY THE FACTORY OVER THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER CREATING A MAJOR FIRE HAZARD FOR WHEN THE OVERHEATING DOES HAPPEN. I FOUND THAT TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM FOR YEARS BUT ONLY COVERS IT IF FOUND UNDER THE WARRANTY PERIOD IF THE PROBLEM PRESENTS ITSELF. BUT AFTER THAT TOYOTA PLACE THE FINANCIAL BURDEN ON THEIR CUSTOMERS FOR THE KNOWN PROBLEMS FOUND BETWEEN THE ECM AND THE TRANSMISSION. MILEAGE ON DAY OF INCIDENT IS APROX 97,000 MILES. (EX A $5000 VOUCHER TOWARDS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE OR 50% REIMBURSEMENT TOWARDS A PREVIOUS REPAIR OR 50% TOWARDS A REPAIR AT PRESENT. WHEN I CALLED THEY TOLD ME BECAUSE MY VEHICLE WAS OVER 160, 000 KM I WOULD NOT QUALIFY FOR ANY OF THESE INCENTIVES EVEN THOUGH AT THE TIME THE TRANSMISSION WENT THE CAR WAS AT 104,000.
