I PURCHASE MY 2006 MINI COOPER S NEW ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SINCE I PURCHASED IT. IF YOU ARE GOING DOWN A HILL IT DOWNSHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD CAUSING A WHIPLASH EFFECT. CARS HAVE ALMOST HIT ME FROM BEHIND MANY TIMES. THEY TOLD ME TO BUY A NEW ONE NOW BECAUSE THEY DON'T USE THAT TRANSMISSION ANY MORE. THEY ALSO TOLD ME TO MANUALLY SHIFT THE CAR IN THOSE SITUATIONS. I HAD JUST LEFT MY DRIVEWAY. AS I WAS PULLING ONTO CALABASH DRIVE FROM A STOP SIGN AT MAPLEWOOD DRIVE MY VEHICLE LOST SPEED. ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING I LOST CONNECTION WITH THE TRANSMISSION. SINCE I WAS ONLY TRAVELING APPROX. 25 MPH I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT INTO A DRIVEWAY. I TRIED ALL THE GEARS AND HAD NO RESPONSE FROM ANY. I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND WAITED APPROX. 2 MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT.
... I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE APPROX 100 FEET BEFORE I AGAIN LOST CONTACT WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I REPEATED THIS PROCEDURE 4 TIMES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO PULL BACK INTO MY DRIVEWAY. I CONTACTED A TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED THERE. I HAD TO HAVE A NEW TORQUE CONVERTER INSTALLED WHICH COST ME A TOTAL OF $991.84 I HAD NO WARNING OF THIS OCCURRENCE AS THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN EARLIER THAT DAY WITHOUT INCIDENT. *TRRead more

2002 HONDA ODYSSEY TRANSMISSION. WHILE DRIVING ON THEY HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE TRANSMISSION UNEXPECTEDLY BEGAN TO SLIP. MY ENGINE REVVED UP THAN THE RPMS SUDDENLY DROPPED. A COUPLE OF SECONDS LATER IT FELT AS THOUGH I HAD JAMMED ON THE BRAKES CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY JOLT.THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED ALMOST CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON THE ROADWAY. RECENTLY MY 2008 FORD ESCAPE STARTED HESITATING WHEN TAKING OFF. ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT SINCE I WAS PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I HAD THE SAME ISSUE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED BY TOYOTA IN 2007. IT CONCERNS TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TC002-06). AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR THIRTY MINUTES, THE CAR WOULD THEN START TO SHIFT HARSHLY/DELAYED SHIFT CAUSING A LOSS OF ACCELERATION. I HAD THIS SERVICE DONE IN 2007 AND THEN LAST MONTH HAD TO HAVE THE ECM REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
