I WOULD LIKE YOU TO CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY OF CONVINCING HONDA TO RECALL THEIR 2003 ACCORDS DUE TO THE FACT THAT WHEN THEIR TRANSMISSION DECIDES TO FAIL, IT VIOLENTLY FORCES THE GEAR INTO FIRST. THE TRANSMISSION ON MY 2005 VW NEW BEETLE GLS TDI FAILED. THE AUTO SHOP CANNOT FIND AN EXTERNAL CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THEY SAY THE FLYWHEEL "EXPLODED" THE INTERNAL PART OF THE TRANSMISSION AND EVEN BROKE THE TRANSMISSION CASE OPEN. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS PRIOR TO THE FAILURE IN TERMS OF NOISES OR PERFORMANCE. WHILE DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT, THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED FROM AMBER THEN RED AND MY TRANSMISSION DROPPED VERY HARD FROM 3 TO 2 AS IF I SLAMMED THE BREAKS AND THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME. I GOT THE CAR BACK FROM THE DEALER AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN - AT 7:00 AM. I CALLED ONSTAR AND THEY GAVE ME TWO CODES. I BOUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND GAVE HIM THE CODES. IT NOW SEEMS THAT THERE WERE TWO DEFECTIVE SENSORS CONTROLLING THE STABILITRAC / TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM AND HOW THEY COMMUNICATE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. ... AD TO HAVE THE MOTOR MOUNTS REPLACED IN 09 AFTER I NOTICED UNUAL NOISE COMING FROM THE CAR WHEN I WOULD ACCERLATE FROM A STOP. INSPECTION DISCOVERED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I BELIEVE THIS MAY BE A DIRECT CAUSE TO MY TRANSMISSION ISSUE NOW AND ACCORDING TO SEVERAL FORUM COMPLAINTS MANY OTHER INDIVIDUALS HAVE HAD THE SAME EXACT ISSUE THAT I AM EXPERIENCING NOW. 2001 FORD WINDSTAR SE SPORT, 20,000 MILES ABS, BRAKE, & TIRE PRESSURE LIGHTS COME ON AFTER FIRST STARTING CAR AND RUNNING FOR A WHILE.. ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF, TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN WITH ALL 4 NEW TIRES EQUALLY FILLED AT 35PSI. JUST BOUGHT THIS VAN. TRANSMISSION SLIPS, HAD IT DRAINED AND SERVICED 1 MONTH AGO WITH NO PROBLEM REPORTED. *TR
