THIS IS A TOUGH PILL TO SWALLOW. I HAVE BEEN DILIGENT WITH SERVICING THE CAR, AND NOW I'M HIT UP FOR $6,300 DOLLARS IN REPAIR FOR A CAR WHOSE BLUE BOOK VALUE IS ~$9K. I LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW THAT THERE ARE AN UNUSUALLY LARGE NUMBER CASES OF WHERE THE 2003 ACCORD V6 TRANSMISSION FAILS EARLY. PER THE ADVICE ON THESE SITES; I CALLED HONDA AND ASKED FOR A GOODWILL REPAIR. THEY OFFERED TO REDUCE THE TRANSMISSION WORK TO $2,900, AND WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE BRAKES OR HEAT SHIELD.
