On [XXX], my 2025 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid displayed a red dashboard alert instructing me to “stop vehicle and check brake system.” The vehicle experienced brake system warnings and a loss of power steering, requiring me to pull over. I immediately contacted Hyundai through the Bluelink system, and the Bluelink operator confirmed that multiple fault codes were visible in Hyundai’s system. I sch
... eduled a Hyundai service appointment at the next available date. On [XXX], before the scheduled service appointment could occur, the vehicle experienced a sudden and total electrical failure while traveling at highway speed (approximately 65 mph). The vehicle lost propulsion and displayed brake system warnings. After reaching the shoulder, the vehicle also lost hazard lights while disabled in heavy rain. The vehicle was towed via Hyundai Bluelink to a Hyundai dealership and removed from service. The occupants at the time of the incident included my wife and my minor child. The loss of propulsion, braking warnings, power steering, and hazard lights created a serious risk of a rear-end collision and injury. Due to repeated and escalating safety-related failures involving electrical, braking, and steering systems, I no longer consider the vehicle safe to operate. I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious fuel system defect involving my 2023 Kia GT-Line. The vehicle was subject to a manufacturer recall due to fuel tank expansion. Kia has acknowledged that the fuel tank expands beyond normal specifications, creating a potential safety hazard. As a result of this defect, Kia of America determined that the vehicle is not repairable and declared it a
... total loss. Kia has offered to buy back the vehicle and forgive the remaining loan balance, which confirms that the manufacturer considers the defect serious and unresolvable. A fuel tank expansion defect presents a significant safety concern, including the risk of fuel leaks, fuel system failure, inaccurate fuel readings, and potential fire hazards. This defect occurred under normal vehicle use and was not caused by misuse or modification. I am concerned that this defect affects other vehicles of the same model and year and may pose a broader public safety risk. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA is aware of the issue and can evaluate whether further investigation or action is warranted. Kia’s determination that the vehicle is a total loss due to a fuel system defect indicates that this is a serious safety-related issue rather than a minor inconvenience.Read more

Engine stalls only after filling up gas, resulting in check engine light or oil light turning on. People need to put gas in, not guess. The car will ONLY TAKE BARELY 2 gallons in winter without overflowing. My car started having issues with the hybrid system, with fault alerts related to the drive motor control module, hybrid powertrain control module, and battery energy control module in the transmission, and the vehicle is available for inspection if needed. The engine light had been on for about a week, and I was waiting for availability at work to take it to a mechanic. While driving around 70 mp
... h on the highway, a “Propulsion Power Reduced” message suddenly came on and the car started limiting its speed. As I kept driving, the power continued to drop, making it unsafe to stay at highway speeds and putting both me and other drivers at risk since the car couldn’t keep up with traffic and could slow down unexpectedly. I took it to an independent mechanic who confirmed the issue and warned me it was dangerous to drive because the speed would keep decreasing as power dropped. So far, only an independent mechanic has inspected it. After doing some research, I found this is a very common problem with 2016–2018 Chevy Volts, with many people reporting similar situations where their cars lost power or started jerking at high speeds and they had to pull over.Read more

My 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE has been at the dealership service center since [Date] due to the recall identified as NHTSA Campaign 25V766000. Confirmation of Problem: The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, and they advised that the remedy is still under development. Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer’s authorized service center, but no repairs have been performed because there is no available solution. Warning Signs: There were no warning lamps or messages prior to the recall notice. I proactively brought the vehicle in after learning about the recall. Current Situation: I have been without my primary vehicle for an extended period and am currently in a rental provided by Jeep. However, I have received no timeline for a fix, nor any indication if Jeep will replace or buy back the vehicle. This indefinite delay is unacceptable given the severity of the safety risk.Read more

Incident date: Jan 14, 2026
My 2024 Jeep Wagoneer Series 2 frequently stalls while coming out of idle, such as at traffic lights. This is not the auto stop-start feature and happens whether or not auto stop-start is deactivated. Usually, after being by stopped, as I am getting ready to start moving again, the vehicle will slightly rev or try to lurch forward before stalling out. This turns the engine off, throws the car in
... to park, and activates my e-brake. It happens before I press the accelerator so the car is not moving more than a mile or two an hour. This problem is dangerous because it creates a risk of accidents with other vehicles. When the car stalls in this way, I must confirm the car is in park, press the brake, restart the engine, deactivate the e-brake, and shift the car into drive before proceeding through the intersection. This takes a few seconds and if the driver in the car behind me isn’t paying attention and think I am starting to move, he or she could rear-end me. This problem has happened more than a dozen times (so not every time I drive but frequent enough to be a pattern). It can happen when I have been driving for a while and the engine is warm. There is no way for me to predict in advance when it will happen. It can go weeks without happening or happen twice in the same day. It does not activate any dash warnings (such as service engine light or an error code) that I can see. I have taken my car into the dealership twice for idle related issues including once for this exact problem. The last time, the dealership found misfires on all cylinders, both catalytic converters coming apart from the inside and 02 sensors that had melted from overheating. The dealership replaced all of this. My vehicle still stalled on the way home from the dealership. This time, I detected a strong rubber or plastic burning odor when I got home. The vehicle has less than 12,000 miles on it and was bought new less than a year ago. I attach last repair invoice.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety and operability issue involving my 2018 Land Rover Range Rover, which has rendered the vehicle inoperable and unsafe to drive. Within approximately four months of purchase, the vehicle experienced repeated mechanical failures, including persistent check engine warnings, limp mode activation, failed compression testing, fuel injector failur
... es across all cylinders, exhaust and turbo-related faults, and a full diesel particulate filter (DPF). The vehicle currently will not perform as designed and is unsafe to operate. The vehicle was repeatedly brought to Jaguar Land Rover South Orlando for service. Despite assurances that diagnostics showed “no issues,” the vehicle rapidly deteriorated and ultimately became inoperable. While in the dealership’s custody, additional concerns arose, including unauthorized third-party access to my vehicle without my consent and delays in releasing the vehicle for towing. Additionally, when the vehicle was finally released, the battery was fully depleted despite the vehicle being in the dealership’s possession and not operated by me, raising further concerns about improper handling. The dealership has quoted repair costs exceeding $13,500 and has refused to assist, citing “as-is” sale status, despite the vehicle failing shortly after purchase and exhibiting severe engine-related defects. These failures pose a potential safety risk due to loss of power, limp mode activation, and inability to safely operate the vehicle. I am concerned that these issues may reflect a broader defect pattern in this model year. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and evaluate whether these engine, fuel system, and emissions-related failures present a safety defect warranting further investigation.Read more

On November 4, 2025, at approximately 175,495 miles, a certified mechanic again confirmed that there was no oil presen
