While driving toward the freeway on January 16, 2026, I pressed my brakes and the vehicle failed to slow or stop. Instead, the vehicle accelerated. I reacted quickly to avoid a head-on collision but was involved in a crash. When pressing on my brakes there were audible sounds from from my hood. As if my car wanted to stop but wouldn’t. My engine previously failed for the same reason. When the
... second and third decal came out I called my local dealership. After my last oil change my car began to show show signs of concern. I emails and called the dealership, I brought my car in however they had no one to work on my car and wouldn’t offer a rental. Told me as long as my car is drivable I’ll be fine. This vehicle has an open recall related to engine/performance defects. History includes: Complete engine failure in 2024 (vehicle retained for two months). Recurring symptoms reported to dealership. Check engine light illuminated; dealership advised vehicle was safe to drive. Vehicle retained again without repair completion. No technician availability; recall repair not completed before crash. I relied on dealership assurances that the vehicle was safe. This defect creates a serious risk of unintended acceleration and loss of braking control. I am concerned other drivers may face similar danger. I am requesting investigation into recall effectiveness and manufacturer handling of repair delays.Read more

I am reporting a safety defect involving my 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport (VIN [XXX] ). On five separate occasions between December 2025 and February 2026, my vehicle ran completely out of fuel despite the dashboard displaying between 18 and 48 miles of remaining driving range. Four of these events occurred on active highways, resulting in sudden loss of engine power and creating immediate col

There is a presence of gasoline in the oil which is causing two(2) safety issues. 1. The infiltration of gasoline in the oil can cause the engine to malfunction to the point of seizure which could cause a sudden stop in traffic flow. 2. The noxious gasoline fumes are unbearable in the cabin of the truck causing headaches, nausea, and lightheadedness which could cause an accident while driving a
... nd could cause the driver to become disoriented and cause an accident. I took the vehicle to Napleton Honda in Loves Park, Illinois to address the problem, and they, in turn contacted American Honda for guidance. The dealership said the technical arm of American Honda said the fumes and the gasoline infiltration was, "NORMAL. I was contacted by American Honda and they suggested that I get a second opinion from another dealership, which IMHO is moot because they will contact American Honda for guidance and they will be told the exact same thing. The case number with American Honda is: XXX. The vehicle is currently under warranty for approximately one(1) more month. I had the oil analyzed by Blackstone Laboratories and they did, in fact detect gasoline in the oil. I have those results. I talked to the Honda Case Manager and she said that Honda will not/does not accept third party testing. American Honda will not even agree to test the oil themselves to determine if what I'm saying is true. I would sincerely appreciate any assistance since my truck is almost unbearable and certainly unsafe to drive. There are currently no warning or check engine lights on, but a simple oil analysis would, 100% confirm the presence of gasoline in the oil. I have noticed the gasoline odor for approximately 9 months and it has progressively gotten worse. I try to combat the noxious odors and impending motor damage by changing my oil very frequently which is approximately every 500-750 miles with full synthetic oil. Please contact me if you need anything further. Thank you. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATRead more

I wanna report a refuling issue with my vehicle. I have an issue with the gas pump clicking or turning off numerous times it started happening not to long after having the truck. I have to literally hold the pump with my hand to refuel my it. If I don't do this the tank will never get filled. I also have to watch closely so the gas doesn't overflow and pour out on my truck to the ground. This has

The vehicle is subject to Safety Recall N252494001 (NHTSA Campaign 25V-274) due to manufacturing defects in the engine crankshaft and connecting rod bearings. • Component/System Failed: The 6.2L V8 (L87) engine crankshaft and connecting rod assembly. The engine is available for inspection upon request. • Safety Risk: The defect can cause catastrophic engine damage and sudden loss of propulsi
... on while driving, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. • Dealer/Manufacturer Confirmation: The problem was confirmed via the issuance of Safety Recall N252494001. A dealership inspection was performed previously as part of the recall. • Warning Signs/Symptoms: Common symptoms include engine knocking, check engine lights, and hesitation before sudden failure. The Issue with the Remedy: Federal law (49 U.S.C. § 30120) requires manufacturers to remedy safety defects "without charge". As a permanent safety remedy for this defect, GM has mandated a switch from 0W-20 to 0W-40 (dexosR) oil for the life of the engine to prevent bearing failure. However, the dealership and manufacturer are refusing to provide this mandated safety spec change without an ongoing $85 surcharge per oil change. While they performed the initial "inspection" oil change for free, they are now using the recall-mandated spec change to create a financial burden on the consumer. Because 0W-40 is now the mandatory factory requirement to prevent the safety defect, charging a premium for it constitutes a failure to provide the recall remedy "without charge." General Motors refuses to offset this cost, effectively penalizing the owner for a manufacturer safety defect. The dealership is also failing to honor my Platinum Wrap warranty and GM Prepaid service contract to perform the continued oil changes without additional charges.Read more

This complaint is specifically related to Ford Recall 16S32 / NHTSA Campaign 16V618000 regarding the High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) failure. My vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ) has experienced the exact mechanical failure described in this recall, resulting in metal debris throughout the fuel system and a sudden loss of engine power while driving. This created an immediate safety hazard on the road. Fo
... rd is currently denying assistance because my vehicle’s production date falls just one day (24 hours) outside the official recall window. It is mechanically impossible for a manufacturing defect present in the recalled batch to not exist in a vehicle produced only 24 hours earlier. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this arbitrary 1-day exclusion. Ford should not be allowed to avoid responsibility for a known safety defect based on a marginal production date error, especially when the failure and the parts involved are identical to those covered under the recall INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

Vehicle Information: 2024 Kia EV6 (VIN: [XXX] ) Mileage at time of failure: 14,005 Complaint Description: My 2024 Kia EV6 experienced a complete failure of the 12-volt battery system despite the high-voltage traction battery showing approximately 80% state of charge. The vehicle became completely inoperable without warning. The 12-volt battery was fully discharged and the vehicle would not ente
... r READY mode. The vehicle required a jump start to become operational. After being jump started, the 12-volt system did not appear to charge properly, suggesting a failure of the Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU), which is responsible for converting high-voltage battery power to maintain the 12-volt battery. This failure created a significant safety concern because: The vehicle became completely disabled without warning. This failure occurred while driving in heavy traffic, it created a hazardous situation. The vehicle’s electrical systems, including safety systems, depend on the 12-volt battery. There are known reports of ICCU failures in Kia and Hyundai electric vehicles that result in identical symptoms (sudden 12-volt battery discharge despite adequate traction battery charge). This suggests a potential systemic defect rather than normal battery wear. I am filing this complaint due to concern that this issue represents a broader safety defect affecting multiple vehicles and may require investigation or expanded recall action. This was a recall earlier, twice, and it was supposedly fixed but the fuel vacuum line to the gas tank is leaking and giving off gasoline odors in the passenger area. Both of these issues are fire hazards and the fue

These were told to us by a Ford dealer who put the car on a diagnostic but they are saying that the recall is over and it will cost $1,400. for the fix. I bought this car, in June 2025 ;from a used car dealer. I am still paying on it. I never receive a car history of any kind from this dealer. . I had no idea that there were 18 recalls on this vehicle. That is really a lot. If either of these problems were fixed on a recall, could they re-occur again. On this particular fuel re-call, I read that it had to be done again because the first recall fix was not done well. I do not have $1,400. to fix this. I am an [XXX] senior woman and am buying this car for my daughter. It seems to me that one a recall is made that it is a permanent thing until there is an assurance that it is fixed and won't happen again. On December 17, 2025, I brought my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (30th Anniversary Edition) to Los Angeles Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for safety recall 68C involving the high-voltage (HV) battery. The dealer performed the required recall software update/flash and diagnostic and confirmed the vehicle failed 68C, meaning the HV traction battery pack requires replacement. The vehicle remains at the deale
... r and is available for inspection. I cannot take the vehicle home even if I tried: per the recall process it must remain at the dealer once it fails, and the software flash/diagnostic effectively “bricked” the vehicle, rendering it undriveable until the HV battery is replaced. This defect involves the HV battery, a critical energy-storage component with serious safety implications. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer; no police/insurance inspection. The dealer initially stated the battery would arrive around January 12, 2026, but it did not. At ~4 weeks out of service I called the dealer for an update—no ETA, status, or tracking. The dealer has never proactively contacted me. At ~8 weeks I called Jeep Cares—no ETA, tracking, or meaningful update; they only contacted the dealer. I am still making payments on a vehicle immobilized at the dealer for ~9 weeks due to the recall remedy delay. I also did not receive the $100 recall compensation gift cards and Jeep Cares has not resolved that. I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The vehicle has repeatedly produced white smoke during cold start and has experienced loss of engine power while driving. Despite multiple repair visits (six times) to an authorized Hyundai dealership, the dealer repeatedly stated that the condition could not be reproduced and no repairs were performed. I provided video evid
... ence of the white smoke and described the symptoms in writing at each visit. Shortly after the most recent service visit(12/22/25), within approximately five days, the vehicle displayed an “Engine Power Limited” warning message and a malfunction indicator light (MIL). When this occurred, the vehicle’s power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to maintain speed and creating a potentially dangerous condition, especially during highway driving or merging into traffic. This issue poses a serious safety risk because sudden loss of engine power can increase the risk of collision. The problem appears to be intermittent but recurring, and it has not been properly diagnosed or corrected by the dealership despite repeated opportunities. The vehicle has not been repaired for this condition, and the defect remains unresolved. The condition may be available for inspection upon request, and diagnostic data such as warning messages and onboard fault codes should be present in the vehicle’s system. The failure began with white smoke during cold start and later escalated to engine power limitation and warning lights.Read more

When running the vehicle in electric mode (and sometimes hybrid), there seems to be an issue with acceleration. When pressing the pedal, the vehicle begins to accelerate until it reaches around 50% power. Once that happens, it either barely accelerates or doesn't at all - even if you are pushing the gas pedal completely to the floor. After a short period of time, the engine kicks on to compensate,
... but there is of course a delay there and many times causes the vehicle to lurch forward. After taking my vehicle to the dealership twice for this, I was told that although Stellantis is keeping quiet about this, during the 68C recall software flash fix Stellantis installed something into the vehicles to essentially throttle the battery's power. They claim this is to avoid the battery from getting too hot. I was never notified that they would be completely altering the functionality of my vehicle and how it drives - which is inappropriate - and I believe this also poses a safety risk as the loss of propulsion/delay in acceleration and the lurching of the vehicle could cause an accident you're pulling out onto a road or are in traffic. Stellantis is claiming nothing was done to the vehicle and my dealership is now claiming it is functioning as intended, which makes sense because if they DID make this change, it is technically running how they want it to. However, I have had this vehicle for nearly 2 years and it NEVER drove like this before. I have also seen numerous posts and comments from other owners on the NHTSA website, Reddit, Facebook, and various Jeep forums mentioning they are having the EXACT same issues I am having, so I know it is not just my vehicle. This, along with the other recalls that STILL have no resolution is completely unacceptable and Stellantis would rather gaslight us into believing our vehicles are fine instead of owning up to the truth - that they are not.Read more

Law enforcement and/or fire services responded. The incident appears consistent with the fire risk described in the recall. Following the incident, we visited the dealership to report the fire and the unresolved recall. We were told the matter would be reviewed and that we would receive a follow-up call. No follow-up was received. Attempts to contact the dealership through publicly listed email addresses resulted in delivery failure notices. According to NHTSA records, this recall affects tens of thousands of vehicles nationwide. We are concerned about: • Timeliness and availability of recall repairs • Dealership accessibility and communication • Risk to consumers when recall remedies are not completed before failure occurs We also attempted to consult several attorneys regarding this incident. We were advised that due to the volume of recall-related fire cases involving this manufacturer, representation may not be feasible unless severe bodily injury is involved. This further raises concern about the scale and seriousness of the issue. We respectfully request that NHTSA review: • Whether recall 22V703000 is being remedied INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIONRead more

Turbo failed due to oil lines clogged. Failed again after repair two weeks later on highway almost causing a collision.
Incident date: Dec 6, 2023
The Dealer states my ICCU has failed and will be replaced. My vehicle could no longer charge on AC power (level 1 or level 2), and eventually had to be taken to the dealer because it could not be charged at home any longer due to the ICCU failing.
Incident date: Oct 1, 2025
Driving 65 on the highway, the ICCU popped and died and the car immediately went into slow mode and decreased to 20mph in traffic in the snow. It displayed a message to pull over immediately and check the power system.

I was going home, speed limit 55 mph, so thats what I was doing. A suv entering a intersection ahead of me, ( i dont have a stop or yield sign, but they do) the suv never stops, rolling into the intersection, as im entering the intersection at 55 mph. I tried avoidance at last second to no avail. My front drivers corner smashed the middle, passenger side of the other suv. My Jeep continues to the
... right, uncontrollable, stops in someone's front yard, engine still running. The other car swerved to the left, still on the road, rolling on its side. My airbags never deployed, i didnt even get any lights on the dash, i had to shut the engine off. Not one airbag deployed, and nothing even recognized there was something wrong. This car is supposed to have all options for airbags, yet a collision at highway speed, with post wreck travel of less than 50 feet, and not one single air bag deployed. I very literally could have died right there. I honestly dont know how i didn't.Read more

While driving on the freeway in the carpool lane, our Audi Q6 malfunctioned and lost power. There were numerous malfunction lights all at once. No other warning that the car was about to lose power. I was forced to coast across lanes avoiding traffic to the side of the road. Steering wheel was also violently shaking. The car has been out of service at the dealer for 58 days as of today. The ma
... nufacturer and dealer have both spent time analyzing the car and replaced the 12 volt battery and some control modules. Here is the text message I received from the service advisor at the dealer: “the following are the latest notes from the technician and techline audi :The control module for engine and suspension control is the module that has the static low voltage faults. Tech line thinks this control module staying awake is what’s killing the 12 volt battery. A faulty or discharged 12 volt can cause several problems in an electric vehicle” My concern is that there is no advance warning that the control module or suspension control is draining the battery and there is no advance warning that the 12 volt battery is going to die or is discharged. Audi has not been able to provide reassurance or confirmation that we will know in advance of this issue happening again. We were fortunate to be able to get out of traffic and to the shoulder, but it was a dangerous situation for me and my family to be in. With no advance warning, it seems a good possibility this can happen again.Read more

Vehicle: 2012 Range Rover Sport Supercharged (VIN: [XXX] ) Recall Campaign: N623 / NHTSA 21V635 Incident Description: In October 2025 I had a recall repair done at Land Rover Annapolis. I picked up my vehicle from Land Rover Annapolis after the N623 Fuel Outlet Flange Recall was performed. Immediately after service, while driving in a live lane of traffic, the vehicle unexpectedly stalled, re
... sulting in a complete loss of motive power. The dashboard fuel gauge falsely indicated 55 miles of remaining range, but the vehicle had actually run out of fuel. This indicates that the fuel sending unit/float assembly was improperly reinstalled or damaged during the recall service, creating a secondary safety defect. I figured it would calibrate and fix itself. When the dealer reached out after my service appointment I made them aware of the issue. No one contacted me. I contacted Land Rover corporate when it continued to happen and was told to bring it back to the certified repair location. The dealership took 16 mins to look at my vehicle and deem the engine bad. Give a ballpark quote of 20000 to 30000 dollars to replace the engine. Despite this life-safety event, the dealership refused to pull stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and is attempting to deflect liability by blaming a pre-existing minor coolant leak that never triggered an overheat warning. I am reporting a failure of the recall remedy and requesting an investigation into the dealership's refusal to diagnose consequential damage (High-Pressure Fuel Pump failure) caused by the botched safety When I brought up the fact that they should have diagnosed the codes already he offered to have them run it for free tomorrow like he was doing me some kind of favor. When I said did I disagreed with the findings based on the fact that there was no evidence of it being the engine overheating due to cool it he replied that maybe I needed a second opinion and it needed to be off of their lot by Friday.
