In December 2025, the vehicle was towed to the dealer after it shut off and would not restart. No warning lights displayed, no low fuel light displayed either. Dealer attributed stall to low fuel (fuel range showed 30 miles remaining), found no diagnostic codes, attributed it to low fuel, added gas, and released the vehicle and charged a DX fee. In February 2026 (approximately two months later), t

On 3/3/2026, I brought me JEEP 4XE to the Jeep dealership in Paris, Kentucky to have the 68C recall performed. The Jeep dealership used version #7 of the 68C recall instructions to updated all software modules and then to perform a 7 mile test run to engage the electric engine and to stress the vehicle per the instructions documented in the recall instructions. Document is identified as: * High V
... oltage Battery * Reference: 68C/NHTSA 25V-741 * Revision: 7 * Edition: February 2026 * Details: Additional DTC added to the end of Section B. BPCM software update After picking vehicle up from dealership, I proceeded home via a state highway Route 68 (Paris Pike). The roadway is a 4 lane divided highway and has a speed limit of 55mph. I set my vehicle to HYBRID mode and then placed it on cruise control as I had done numerous times over its 25,000 miles. During the drive there were occasional rolling hills and inclines. I gauged the hills to be about a 1% grade on average but never exceeding 2% grade. During these inclines, the gasoline engine engaged and the RPM gauge on the instrument cluster registered 3000RPM. This excessive engine RPM had NEVER occurred before the 68C factory recall procedure. In all other instances of the engine engaging, the RPM would engage at 2000RPM. I contend that the the engagement of the gasoline engine on these small inclines was NOT warranted and that the excessive RPM's of 3000 is not normal and was never experienced prior to the 68C recall fix. I am submitting this information for review and documentation. Video of the instrument cluster gauge showing the RMP gauage and the display panel showing the engine and battery kW used were taken to document the process. I believe that the engagement of the gasoline engine at 3000RPM will cause excessive wear of the engine and is a direct result of one of the software updates that was used to complete the 68C recall.Read more

While driving approximately 70 mph on I-10 in Louisiana late at night, my 2020 Hyundai Kona EV displayed a “Check EV System” warning while I was on the highway. There were no safe areas or emergency shoulders available to pull over, so I continued driving toward the nearest exit. Approximately 15 minutes after the warning appeared, as I attempted to exit the highway, the vehicle suddenly lost
... power and rapidly slowed. The vehicle came to a complete stop and could not accelerate, move forward, or reverse. This created a serious safety risk because the vehicle lost propulsion while traveling at highway speed. The vehicle had approximately 62,000 miles at the time of the incident. The vehicle was towed to Giles Hyundai where the dealership diagnosed an internal temperature sensor and resolver failure. Because these components are integrated into the drive system, the dealership replaced the entire traction motor assembly. The repair cost was approximately $9,000. The sudden loss of propulsion at highway speed created a dangerous situation for both the driver and surrounding traffic.Read more

... ce: At the time of service, the vehicle stored the exact diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) specified in the bulletin: Fuel/Misfire Codes: P0302, P0303, P0305, P219A Catalytic Efficiency Codes: P0420, P0430 Repairs & Financial Impact: The fueling imbalance and extreme heat caused by the faulty injectors led to: Replacement of both Catalytic Converters (directly cited as a potential result of injector failure in SB 20-100). Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement & Head Resurfacing (caused by excessive thermal stress and localized overheating from the lean/rich conditions). Fuel Injector Replacement. Dispute Details: Inadequate Reimbursement: After months of persistent hounding, American Honda issued a payment of $736. No explanation was provided, but this amount likely only covers the injectors, ignoring the thousands of dollars in consequential damage. Admission of Defect: By issuing this partial payment, Honda has formally acknowledged that my VIN was affected by the manufacturing defect described in the bulletin. Lack of Transparency: Honda has failed to provide any technical justification for how the catalytic converter and head gasket failures—which occurred simultaneously with the specific codes in the bulletin—could be considered unrelated to the admitted injector defect. Request for Action: I am requesting an investigation into Honda's failure to cover the full scope of damages caused by this known manufacturing defect. The partial payment is an admission of fault regarding the injectors, and the resulting engine and exhaust damage is a direct, documented consequence of thatRead more

While driving approximately 70 mph on the highway, my 2018 Honda CR-V suddenly lost engine power and rapidly decelerated. Approximately two weeks prior to the incident I experienced intermittent engine sputtering while driving. No repairs had yet been performed at that time. After the accident I discovered that my vehicle VIN is associated with an open fuel pump motor safety recall (EXP2) that had not been remedied prior to the incident. The suspected component involved is the fuel/propulsion system related to the fuel pump recall, although this has not yet been confirmed by inspection. The vehicle is currently in the possession of my insurance carrier and may be available for inspection upon request depending on the insurance process. The vehicle has been inspected by insurance representatives following the accident. The sudden loss of power at highway speed created a significant safety risk because the vehicle could not maintain speed with surrounding traffic and could not be restarted.Read more

The hybrid propulsion system on my 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid has repeatedly failed, resulting in sudden and complete loss of power while driving at highway speeds. The vehicle enters full limp mode, displays a red turtle warning light, and the motor cuts out entirely, creating a serious collision risk. The failure occurs without warning and has happened on multiple occasions. The root
... cause has been traced through escalating component failures: first the Power Inverter Module (PIM) was found to have an internal failure disabling regenerative braking and causing the motor to cut out; subsequently the battery charging module was found to be failing, causing the high-voltage battery to drain to 0% and stall the vehicle. Both components were replaced by an authorized Stellantis dealership under warranty. Despite replacement of the PIM, the charging module, and ultimately the transmission, the defect has not been resolved. The vehicle has been confirmed defective by the authorized dealer on each visit and has been subject to a STAR (engineering escalation) case with Stellantis. Warning symptoms include the red turtle warning light, check engine light, and sudden power loss. The vehicle has been out of service for cumulative warranty repairs exceeding 130 days, including a continuous period exceeding 90 days. The vehicle remains unrepaired and in dealer custody as of the date of this filing. The dealer has confirmed the defect on each visit and has conducted multiple rounds of diagnostic testing and component replacement, none of which have restored safe and reliable operation. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer/service center and the issue was confirmed. The veh
... icle was out of service from December 1, 2025 to January 9, 2026 for diagnosis/repair. After being returned, the same charging-related failure reoccurred. The vehicle again went back to the authorized service center and has been out of service from February 10, 2026 to March 4, 2026 and counting. (the issue remains unresolved / parts are on order). Total time out of service is approximately 63 days for the same defect. Current mileage is approximately 1,070 miles. In addition, when attempting to charge using DC fast charging, charging performance was also abnormal. The DC fast charging rate was significantly reduced and it took approximately one hour to add only a small amount of range/energy. This defect creates a safety risk because the vehicle cannot be charged reliably, increasing the risk of being stranded without the ability to safely operate the vehicle as intended, including being unable to travel to a safe location if the battery becomes depleted. The authorized dealer/service center has reproduced/confirmed the problem and the affected components are available for inspection at the service facility upon request.Read more

I purchased this vehicle just over a year ago as a CPO model with only 8,000 miles on it. It now has just over 23,000 miles. In this short time of ownership, it has been back to the dealership 3 separate times for serious EV system issues. The first visit involved a software update intended to correct a 12-volt charging issue that could prevent the vehicle from charging and potentially cause ICCU
... failure. Shortly after that update, the 12-volt battery failed, despite being <18 months into service, completely bricking the vehicle and leaving me stranded waiting for a tow. The battery was replaced under warranty. Less than 2 months later, while >30 miles from home, the vehicle displayed a “Check Electrical System Failure” warning. I was able to limp-mode the car back to the dealership. I am now being told that the main EV battery has failed and must be replaced, possibly also the ICCU. The dealership cannot provide a firm timeline for repairs; parts availability could mean anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 months without the vehicle. This pattern of failures raises serious concerns about the reliability and safety of the EV6. Repeated electrical system issues create a very real risk of being stranded unexpectedly, potentially in unsafe situations such as on the side of a highway. To date, I have already lost four days of use due to service repairs, and I now face being without the vehicle for an extended and uncertain period. While a loaner vehicle is being provided, I will incur fuel expenses at a time of rising gas prices, undermining the financial rationale for purchasing an EV. Meanwhile, I continue making payments on a vehicle I cannot use, which is depreciating in value. I understand that new technology carries some risk. However, despite prior updates and even a model refresh, the ICCU issue appears unresolved, and Kia does not seem to have a clear root cause identified. For a vehicle marketed on innovation and dependability, this experience has indicated otherwise.Read more

In 2020, I received multiple red recall notices in the mail regarding a safety issue. ... My vehicle continues to display sudden “Engine Power Reduced” warnings while driving at freeway speeds. The car abruptly slows down and limits acceleration, forcing me to pull over and turn the vehicle off and back on to reset it. During these events, the steering wheel becomes extremely difficult to turn, creating a dangerous situation, particularly at high speeds. The vehicle also appears to have ongoing issues with the push-button start/stop system. Although I did not pursue the issue further at the time, I am now seeking to have it properly addressed because the safety risk remains and another family member is currently driving the vehicle. When I recently attempted to verify the recall status, both the Chevrolet website and other sources show no open recalls. However, the symptoms persist exactly as before, I cannot find the little red notices that were sent but I do have a voicemail from someone at Chevy confirming the appointment that I made because of the recall notices. ... een traveling in the left lane at highway speed, the situation was extremely dangerous, and I was fortunate not to be rear-ended. The vehicle was undrivable and had to be towed to a mechanic. Upon inspection, the cause was identified as a faulty fuel pump, which triggered the hybrid system malfunction and sudden loss of power. The vehicle has only 44,000 miles, making this premature failure especially concerning. Toyota currently has possession of the vehicle but is refusing to cover the repair. Notably, there was a recall issued for fuel pump failures causing similar issues in 2020 model-year vehicles. Given the identical nature of the failure, I believe this indicates an ongoing fuel pump defect that has not been fully resolved.Read more

serious incident that happened. While we were driving heading uphill to the beach, the check engine light and multiple warnings suddenly appeared. It said 'transmission error' and 'engine power reduced,' and the car just shut down with the kids inside. We were at risk of the car rolling backwards. I really think this is a major safety issue tied to the vehicle's design or manufacturing. Second inc
... ident was also driving on the road and suddenly all the lights appeared again and the engine shut off on its own leaving me and the kids stuck on road. I wasn’t able to switch it to N to at least try to push it out the way! I was stuck in traffic and had to call road assistance to get the car towed home! At this point I’m scared to drive anywhere especially with my kids inside.Read more

My wife was driving our Ioniq 5 on the freeway. She received a message on the dash about the electrical system (probably ICCU failure), and then the car limited itself ("turtle mode") so that the max speed was 20mph. A minute or two later it slowed down even further to 10mph. She was able to get off the freeway safely.

I own a 2017 Honda Pilot. The vehicle has been stalling and losing power while driving. The loss of power creates a serious safety risk, especially in traffic and at highway speeds, as the vehicle hesitates and struggles to accelerate. The High-Pressure Fuel Pump was replaced at my expense after the vehicle began stalling and losing power. Despite this repair, the problem has persisted. I am now
... being told by Honda that the Low-Pressure Fuel Pump also needs to be replaced. I have already paid for significant repairs, including replacement of the High-Pressure Fuel Pump, water pump, timing belt, and related components. My vehicle’s VIN is not included in any fuel pump recall, although similar vehicles appear to have had related recalls. I did receive a warranty extension for the torque converter, but I have received no notification or warranty support regarding the Low-Pressure Fuel Pump. The stalling and loss of power place me and other drivers at risk, particularly in intersections and during highway driving. The issue has been diagnosed by a Honda dealer/service center. The failed components are available for inspection upon request. No consistent warning lamps appeared prior to failure. I am concerned this may be a broader safety defect affecting vehicles outside the current recall population.Read more

The high-pressure fuel pump on my 2018 Honda Accord failed even though the vehicle had previously been repaired under a recall for the same issue. While driving, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the check engine light and other system warnings. The vehicle began running rough and lost power, creating a dangerous driving condition, especially in traffic. This is the
... second occurrence of fuel system failure despite the recall repair being completed. The recurrence of this issue raises serious safety concerns, as sudden power loss or engine malfunction while driving increases the risk of an accident. The vehicle is currently not safe to drive due to the risk of stalling or loss of power. The problem appears to be related to the high-pressure fuel pump system that was previously addressed under recall.Read more

Three separate high-voltage battery section failures within one year, each causing complete loss of propulsion. Two occurred at freeway speeds on [XXX]. FAILURE 1 ([XXX]): Vehicle lost propulsion. Dealer diagnosed DTC P0AFA (low voltage), failed cell in Battery Section 3. Section 3 replaced under GM Special Coverage N232432680 (BECM, 15yr/150k). Vehicle out of service approximately six months awa
... iting GM authorization and parts. FAILURE 2 ([XXX]): Vehicle lost propulsion on [XXX] at night at freeway speeds. Required towing. Dealer diagnosed DTC P0AFA, Cell 85 at 1.85V in Battery Section 1 (different section). Section 1 replaced under same Special Coverage. Vehicle returned Jan 28, 2026. FAILURE 3 ([XXX], ~300 miles after Failure 2 repair): Vehicle again lost propulsion on the freeway with check engine light, then progressed to no-start condition. Towed to dealer. Diagnosed Feb 20, 2026: DTC P0AFA, Cell 57 at 1.5V in Battery Section 2 (GM minimum spec 2.5V). Third distinct section failure. Vehicle remains at dealer awaiting GM repair authorization as of filing date. SAFETY CONCERN: Loss of propulsion at freeway speeds is an immediate safety hazard. During the Nov 2025 event, the vehicle lost power on [XXX] at night in active traffic. The progressive failure pattern (three different sections failing sequentially in the same pack, identical DTC) suggests a systemic defect rather than isolated component failures. Prior section replacements have not resolved the underlying problem. Vehicle has been usable approximately 20 total days in the past 12 months. All repairs performed or pending under GM Special Coverage N232432680. GM Case [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

It appears to be either the fuel pump or fuel injectors, at certain times of acceleration the car stops accelerating, the engine light blinks, I have to shut the car off and restart it. It seems like if I slow my car down then try to accelerate, like going through a roundabout or sitting in stop and go traffic really seems to set the problem off. I took it to a Honda dealership a couple years ago
... and they informed me it was fuel injectors but they were not in stock, they assured me the car was fine to drive, I called a couple times to ask if they had gotten the part, they sternly told me they would call me, anyways they never called me and it still happens, there is a recall out for other 2018 Honda Accords that seem to have a similar problem. All my lights are constantly on due to this problem, none of the features on my car work. Sometimes if I reset my battery the lights are fine for a while but the problem still persists. If I "Rev" my car up and gas it pretty hard when I immediately start driving it seems to help.Read more

I am reporting a loss of propulsion event in a 2025 Kia Sorento S AWD. The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of drive power when pressing the accelerator. The engine did not respond normally and the vehicle entered a reduced power (limp mode) condition. Stopping in the middle of major intersections, [XXX] and then [XXX] and [XXX] at 4:30 pm. This vehicle is subject to Recall 25V548 involving e

The recall language states that engine damage or loss of propulsion may occur and could create a safety hazard. This event occurred at approximately moving from a stop position to ? mph on [XXX]] with approximately 1,936 miles on the vehicle. As I drove it home it would disengage and reengage. I am concerned about the safety of continued operation given the recall notice and the propulsion failure experienced. VIN: [XXX] Please advise.
