A 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T developed an engine misfire, coolant loss, and reduced acceleration shortly after purchase from a dealership on 01/07/2026 (around 156,000 miles / $15,000). On 01/23/2026, during a Honda dealer inspection at about 157,255 miles, the technician noted misfires on startup, found the coolant overflow reservoir empty, pressure-tested the system, and confirmed coolant leaking in
... to cylinders 3 and 4 from the head gasket. The dealer recommended head gasket replacement plus spark plugs, drive belt, and valve adjustment. I was told that continued driving could worsen the condition, leading to overheating and further engine damage. After that diagnosis, the vehicle’s drivability worsened, and it became unsafe to rely on due to misfires and loss of acceleration, especially on the highway. The selling dealership refused to assist, claiming the defect was not present at the time of sale; Honda America acknowledged the head gasket concern but denied a goodwill claim, citing the high cost of the issue and lack of NHTSA enforcement on this issue. An independent repair shop then provided a second inspection/estimate consistent with the same head-gasket repair scope. The vehicle and repair records are available for inspection. No crash or injury occurred, but the defect caused a sudden loss of power and overheating while driving; I was stuck on the highway on two occasions with my hazard lights on after acceleration completely halted. Warning symptoms (the engine light) only appeared when the car suddenly stopped accelerating. Two days after an around-$5,000 headgasket repair, drivability problems and multiple dashboard warnings appeared, including turbo-related concerns; this concern is ongoing.Read more

Glendale Dodge (CA) is actively using Federal Fire Risk Recall 68C to fraudulently conceal a separate, critical High-Voltage hardware failure on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Upon intake, my vehicle’s internal VIP diagnostic scan showed an active P0E15 code (Electric Coolant Heater Failure). Per Stellantis Technical Service Bulletins, this code indicates a severe failure requiring a physical hardwa
... re replacement to ensure the high-voltage system operates safely. To avoid performing this costly warranty repair, the dealership deliberately falsified the diagnosis on Final Invoice #31349. Under Line C (Customer States Check Engine Light is On), the dealership officially recorded the cause and correction as: 'DUE TO RECALL MODULE UPDATES AND BAD BATTERY.' This is an affirmatively false written diagnosis. A dead 12V battery and a recall software update do not cause, nor do they resolve, a P0E15 High-Voltage Electric Coolant Heater failure. The dealership lied on the legal invoice to scrub the hardware defect from the record. They then applied the 68C software patch as a smokescreen, falsified the 'Date Out' to 12/26/2025 to prematurely close the federal recall ticket, and attempted to return a vehicle that remains mechanically compromised and unsafe. This is intentional warranty fraud masking a high-voltage system failure. Stellantis and its authorized repair facility are refusing to properly remedy the vehicle. The vehicle is currently held at the dealership pending an active fraud investigation by the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (Case #6596-WS4PV6).Read more

The mechanic brought it to the back and advised me that he could not find anything wrong with the vehicle and that it is running fine. While driving on the highway at 65 miles per hour, my Atlas shut itself off. I had to put it into park and restart the ignition. It turned on after 2 attempts but just barely. It turned on and gave enough power to move forward very slowly but virtually no propulsion. It turned on briefly, I pressed the gas and then it shut off but had enough to cruise to get to the shoulder across the highway. T
... here was no shoulder next to the lane I was in. Luckily the cars around me saw that I put my hazzard lights on immediately and did the same. Once at the shoulder, tho the system had shut down again... the Atlas suddenly engaged and sped up on its own. The control panel of the car was "resetting" itself still from the initial shutdown. The system appeared to reboot itself after putting into park and pushing the ignition button. And was still "processing" while I attempted to get it to the side of the road while it shutdown again. Once it was "rebooted" that's when the system appeared to "catch" and the car "sped up" by itself. Once all that happened, probably in the span of 5 minutes or so, I was able to drive 15 miles away safely to a gas station, turned off the car, got gas and it re-started like nothing had happened and drive fine home, about 2 miles further. The instrument panel including map and "driving screen" has shut down before while driving a few times, but never anything with the engine. While stopped at a light a few times, the car has previously "shut itself off" and restarted fine after being put into park and restarting ignition. This is by far the worst and most dangerous experience I've had that could have resulted in a fatal collision, had the cars around me not also been paying close attention and helped me out by slowing behind me and creating awareness for others approaching at 65-75 MPH as well.Read more

After the automatic start/stop system engages, the engine stalls and completely shuts off shortly after the vehicle begins moving again. This occurs after the vehicle restarts and travels only a few feet. When the stall happens, the vehicle loses power and the engine stops functioning while the car is in traffic. This has occurred two separate times: once on a busy highway and once while entering
... a roundabout. Both incidents created a dangerous situation where the vehicle could not maintain power in active traffic and could have resulted in a crash. A yellow emissions warning light also appeared on the dashboard. The dealer indicated that an intermittent oil pressure sensor code was present but no parts were replaced and no corrective action was taken. The dealer reset the system and stated they could not reproduce the problem. The vehicle is now being returned to me without repair despite the safety risk. An engine stall immediately after the start/stop system restarts the vehicle creates a serious hazard because the vehicle can lose power in the middle of traffic. I believe this issue may be related to the automatic start/stop system or an oil pressure sensor fault affecting engine operation.Read more

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to file a formal safety complaint regarding my 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 involving a leaking fuel rail that caused the vehicle to shut down and become unsafe to operate. The failure of the fuel rail resulted in a fuel leak and engine shutdown. A failure within the fuel delivery system presents a serious safety concern, as it can cause sudden loss of power whi
... le driving and poses a potential fire hazard if fuel comes into contact with hot engine components. During the repair process, I was informed that the necessary replacement component, Fuel Rail Part Number 2700701995, is no longer being produced by Mercedes-Benz. Because this critical component is unavailable, the vehicle cannot currently be repaired and is therefore undrivable. It is deeply concerning that a safety-related fuel system component for a 2019 vehicle is no longer available. Without access to this essential part, the vehicle is effectively disabled. Additionally, based on the nature of this failure, I believe this fuel rail defect should be included in the recall list for this vehicle. A leaking fuel rail capable of shutting down the engine represents a significant safety risk that may affect other vehicles of the same model. I have attempted to contact Mercedes-Benz Customer Care at [XXX] on seven separate occasions and have left messages requesting assistance, but I have not received a return call. Because this issue involves both a serious fuel system failure and the inability to obtain a critical replacement part, I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigate whether this defect affects other 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 vehicles and determine whether a recall is warranted. I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 with the 6.4L engine (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has a dangerous condition where the engine stalls unexpectedly when the fuel level is approximately 1/4 tank or lower and the vehicle is traveling downhill. When the vehicle is positioned on a decline or downhill slope, the engine suddenly shuts off without warning. This appears to be fuel starvation on decline
... when the fuel level is below approximately 1/4 tank, resulting in engine stall and loss of power steering and braking assist after stall. This has occurred multiple times and creates a significant risk of crash due to the sudden loss of engine power and reduced steering and braking assistance while the vehicle is in motion. The issue is particularly concerning when descending hills or driving on angled terrain. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership (Carvana Jeep San Diego) where technicians determined the likely cause is a defective fuel pump module associated with the Wrangler Rubicon 392 6.4L fuel pump module. However, the dealership informed me the replacement fuel pump module is currently on national backorder from the manufacturer (Stellantis/Jeep). They stated there is no confirmed availability date and that many vehicles may be waiting for the same component. My vehicle has been awaiting repair for approximately four months due to the unavailable fuel pump module. Because the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while traveling downhill, this defect presents an ongoing safety hazard and potential risk of crash. This complaint is being submitted so the issue can be evaluated as a potential safety defect involving fuel delivery failure, fuel pump module malfunction, and engine stall under low fuel conditions in the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. The vehicle exhibited charging failures on multiple occasions over the course of several days after being connected to a Level 2 home charging unit overnight. Approximately six months prior to the charging failures, the 12-volt auxili

During this same period, the vehicle was started on one occasion to find that every warning and alarm indicator on the dashboard had triggered simultaneously. The vehicle was completely inoperable at that time. After several minutes, all warning indicators cleared and normal operation resumed without any intervention. The vehicle was brought to an authorized Hyundai dealership on March 6, 2026, where the technician diagnosed the root cause as a failed Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU). The ICCU is responsible for managing both high-voltage battery charging and maintaining the 12-volt auxiliary battery; a failure of this component can result in loss of charging capability, auxiliary battery drain, and potentially a complete and sudden loss of vehicle operability. As of the date of this report, the vehicle is awaiting parts with an estimated repair time of approximately one week. The repair is expected to be covered under the manufacturer's warranty. This failure occurred with fewer than 10,000 miles on a 2025 model year vehicle. Based on publicly available owner reports and online forums, ICCU failures appear to be a recurring issue across multiple Hyundai IONIQ model variants.Read more

I am submitting this complaint regarding a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has been subject to multiple safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery system and a risk of fire or explosion. The manufacturer, Stellantis, issued safety instructions advising owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park the vehicle in garages or near structures or other vehicles due to the potential fire risk. It
... says "Sand from the casting process can contaminate internal engine components, leading to a catastrophic engine failure, which can result in a vehicle fire or an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. These instructions significantly restricted the normal use of the vehicle and created serious safety concerns. I have young kids Additionally, the recall notice stated that a remedy for the defect was not available for an extended period of time. Despite the seriousness of the defect and the safety warnings issued, the vehicle remained without a repair solution for months.Jeep has now discontinued the vehicles altogether with no solution for the vehicle. Due to these conditions, the vehicle could not be safely operated or used for its intended purpose. The unresolved safety defect effectively rendered the vehicle unsafe and unusable. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter and the impact that these unresolved safety defects have had on vehicle owners. I believe the situation raises significant safety concerns regarding vehicles that remain in use while a dangerous defect exists without an available remedy. Please let me know if additional documentation is required. I am willing to provide recall notices, written manufacturer communications, and other supporting documentation. Vehicle is subject to Recall R24B2 / NHTSA 24V-700 (battery fire risk during Level 3 DC fast-charging). Nissan issued a "do not use" directive for the CHAdeMO fast-charge port in October 2024 with a projected remedy date of November 2024. As of March 2026 — over 16 months later — no remedy has been provided. The affected component is the high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack. The battery is ava
... ilable for inspection. The defect has been confirmed by Nissan North America via recall notice and by an authorized Nissan dealer (February 2026), who confirmed no remedy is available. No warning lamps or symptoms were observed; the risk is established by Nissan's own recall documentation.Safety risk: Nissan's own recall states that continued Level 3 fast-charging may cause rapid battery heating and fire. The "do not use" directive effectively removes a core advertised feature of the vehicle with no timeline for restoration.I have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs twice regarding this recall (February 2025 and November 2025) and received no remedy or timeline. Nissan has repeatedly postponed its repair schedule. A second related recall (NHTSA 25V655, October 2025) was subsequently issued covering additional model years, further confirming the defect remains unresolved industry-wide.I am formally demanding a vehicle buyback under NY Lemon Law (GBL § 198-a) and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act due to Nissan's failure to remedy this defect within a reasonable time.Read more

As I was driving at 55mph on the hwy I started smelling gas. I thought it was the car in front of me so I was just going to pass him, but quickly realized I did not have the power to pass another car. So I pulled over on the highway and got out of my truck and noticed flames dripping from the center of the vehicle by looking at the front driver wheel area. I tried to put out with a fire extinguish

The vehicle was in Hybrid mode. My wife was driving and had slowed to enter a roundabout to yield to another vehicle. When she accelerated and entered the roundabout, the vehicle stalled / shut itself off and flashed Service Hybrid System. She had to coast to a stop as it lost all propulsion. The vehicle started again after shutting it off and letting it go to sleep by opening the door. This same
... issue happened while slowing, then accelerating into a roundabout while I was driving a few weeks before in "Electric" mode. During this event, it stalled in the middle of the road and was blocking traffic. I had to shut the car off, open the door, wait, then restart it by going to "sport mode" to get the gas engine started.Read more

I have a urgent fire safety recall regarding the fuel tank exploding due to sone gasket leak. Inwas told to park outside of my garage with half tank minimum. I just bought my car, and now I don’t know if my car is going to blow up? I mean I get a chip issue takes a minute but when a car can implode shouldn’t tbe manufacturer immediately allow for a loaner? Especially if there is a disable per
... son being driven in it? I called the dealer when it first was announced and they said they will call me and weeks later crickets. Not even a hi we are working on it. I called and told them my husband is a paraplegic and if there is any type of fire. I wouldn’t be able to help him as fast as it would be needed to help him out or what if I am deceased and he needs to get out. I asked for a loaner from them and the dealership said they don’t have loaners approved yet. I heard when this happened with Chevy Bolt/Volt Chevy had loaners within 2 weeks. I understand I am not the only one however I have a paraplegic spouse. Is there any assistance we may get? I have to use the car to go to work and being a single income couple, I can’t pay almost $1000 a month for a car and pay for a rental too.Read more

Bought the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. It was driving perfect no issues then I hit 52,000 miles and the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle started sputtering and idling hard like it wasn’t getting fuel when the gas was pressed. I was on the interstate and the vehicle wouldn’t go over 35mph. Now the check engine light illuminates off and on when it feels like it.

I have had issues with my car since the day that I bought it. First, my car squealed every time that I backed up. I took it to my local Ford dealership 3 or 4 times without this ever being fixed. This then progressed to my brakes squealing anytime they’re used. I barely have 25,000 miles on my car. Additionally, I have had numerous occasions where my car will get stuck and not shift, not acceler
... ate which is extremely scary when merging into traffic, the RPM’s will jump between 3,000 and 5,000 and stay there while I cannot accelerate or shift. The vehicle has had episodes of shaking while I am driving, and now there is a grinding sound when driving for unknown reasons. My car has also sounded like there is a hole in the exhaust, although there isn’t. I’m not sure what’s causing the noise. Now I have come to find out that there are two active recalls on my car; one for the PCM control module (NHTSA Recall Number: 25V-467, Ford Recall Number: 24S55), and the SYNC/ display software update (NHTSA Recall Number: 26V-123, Ford Recall Number: 25S06) which is a lesser concern. I called the dealer that I bought my car from and they can’t service my car for the PCM control module via an appointment until 4/24/26 (over a month from now when I don’t feel safe driving my vehicle). They said that I can drop my car off before 4/24 for about a week, but that they can’t provide a loaner. I can’t be without a vehicle. Per Ford there are not parts for a permanent remedy anyway, and this is only a temporary fix as it is, which I don’t have confidence in. That’s ridiculous because the recall came out 7/2025. It’s been almost a year. They also told me that the SYNC software update is only a customer satisfaction, not a recall, so they won’t fix it, which is incorrect. I called Ford customer satisfaction and was also denied a loaner car. The only option that I was given was the possibility of a buyback program, which didn’t sound promising. I’m stuck in a car that I don’t feel safe in.Read more

The vehicle experienced two sudden and complete losses of power, on December 29, 2025, and again on February 18, 2026. In both instances, the vehicle became inoperable while in motion and required towing. These failures created hazardous roadside situations.
