This has been occurring intermittently since my 2021 Kia Sorento reached approx. 15k miles and now has 26,600 miles. There are no lights or indicators on the dash letting me know anything is wrong. When the vehicle is stopped at a traffic light or stopped in heavy traffic, the vehicle will start idling high and shaking and the engine will seize up. I am not able to steer, the brakes lock up, I
... cannot accelerate, all functionality is lost. The only thing I can do is put the vehicle in park (in heavy traffic) and shut the car off and wait a minute and turn it back on and it seems to reset itself. This is EXTREMELY dangerous for myself and my passengers (some of which are children) and can cause a serious accident. At no point should I ever need to be concerned with my vehicle seizing up in the middle of the road and having to park and restart my car. This has happened on several occasions already. I have taken my car to 2 separate Kia dealerships to address this problem I have been experiencing. The first dealership failed to attempt to duplicate the problem and instead informed me the firmware update the performed from a previous recall should remedy the problem. It did not. Then I recently took it to another Kia dealer in another state and explained the situation. I specifically asked them to take the vehicle for a test drive and they argued with me that my battery was low and needed to be replaced and it would not be covered under the warranty. I have been driving this vehicle for a while and it has been having this issue around 15k miles so I know it is not the battery. They totally disregarded the safely of myself and my family and only focused on making money for themselves. This is a serious safety issue with this vehicle and has continuously been swept under the rug by Kia. Even the customer service is rude and I have reported this to them and asked for an escalation to their consumer affairs dept and have received no response.Read more

My Odyssey began to shudder and misfire. Luckily, I was in a parking lot when it happened. It stopped running. Several attempts to restart were unsuccessful. Once when it did start, it was missing and would barely move. After about 15 minutes, I was able to get it started and get home (a little over 2 miles). I installed my code checker to find the problem. I initially had 22 codes - includ
... ing P0301-P0306, P0300 and P0087. I waited a while and re-ran the test. The P0087 continued to show. I did not attempt to drive it anymore until the next day, when I took it to Canady & Branch (Auto Repair). They checked for codes and also had the P0087 code. They called and informed me of the issue and indicated that it involves the fuel pump. They also indicated that there were recalls for the Honda Odyssey for the fuel system:fuel pump. I contacted Priority Honda to determine if this would be covered under a recall. I was told that the recall did not involve my Odyssey. I needed my vehicle, so I had Canady & Branch make the necessary repair ($874.42 - the diagnostic was an additional $77). I spoke to Honda USA today and was informed that they do not cover 3rd party work and reiterated that my vehicle was not on the recall list. On March 9, 2026, I brought my vehicle to a Kia dealership in Alexandria, Virginia after experiencing a loud thump noise from the rear of the vehicle while stopped at a red light. (3/08/2026) Immediately following the incident, I smelled gasoline, noticed a significant drop in fuel economy, and heard persistent road noise as if a window were open. I explained these concerns in detail to the serv
... ice advisor and specifically stated my belief that the fuel tank may have expanded. I was informed that this was not related to any recall. After approximately two hours, my vehicle was returned to me without resolution. The symptoms persisted, including the smell of gasoline, which poses a clear safety risk. A few days later, I took my vehicle to a second Kia dealership for further inspection related to Recall SC356. At that time, I was informed that my initial concern was correct—the fuel tank had in fact expanded. I was initially told the repair would take 3–4 days due to parts ordering. However, I was subsequently contacted and instructed not to retrieve my vehicle, as Kia is now pursuing a buyback. While I understand the seriousness of the issue, I am currently without a vehicle, and I have not been provided with a rental or loaner. Given that this issue is tied to a safety-related recall and that my vehicle is unsafe to operate due to the presence of fuel odor, this situation is both unreasonable and unacceptable. They have yet to send me any reports from the second Kia dealership in which I had taken it on 3/14/2026 I was only told over the phone via a service advisor named India that I was correct in suspecting the fuel tank had expanded causing the gasoline fumes and road noiseRead more

Component/System Failure: The internal fuel pump relay within the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM-7) failed. This component is not available for inspection as it is an internal board-mounted relay, but the dealership-installed External Bypass Relay (Part #CBWPR091AA) and the failed fuel pumps are documented on the attached service invoice. Safety Risk: The failure caused an unpredictable en
... gine stall at highway speeds in heavy traffic. This resulted in a complete loss of motive power while moving, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision and leaving the vehicle stranded in a live lane of traffic. Confirmation: The technician documented a terminal 'static pressure drop' to 35 PSI (Spec is 58 PSI). Based on this confirmed low-pressure state, the dealer required the replacement of both the Main Fuel Pump and the Siphon/Auxiliary Transfer Pump, alongside the installation of the External Bypass Relay Kit (Part #CBWPR091AA) to restore safe operation." Inspection: The vehicle was inspected and repaired by the authorized manufacturer representative (Larson Chrysler Jeep). I have also opened a formal case with Stellantis Corporate (Case # 96059987). Warning Symptoms: There were no warning lamps, MIL messages, or starting issues prior to the initial stall. The 'Long Crank' and failure-to-start symptoms occurred immediately after the highway-speed stalls. The vehicle would not restart until it had sat for a period of time, indicating a thermal failure (heat soak) of the internal fuel pump relay. This resulted in the vehicle being stranded in live traffic multiple times while waiting for the component to cool and allow a restart "Note: The attached repair invoice from Larson Jeep contains a clerical typo in the VIN (listing a 'D' instead of a 'B'). I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety defect involving a high-pressure fuel system failure that occurred shortly after recall service was performed by an authorized dealership. The failure created a significant risk of engine compartment fire and potential loss of vehicle control. On March 25, 2025, my vehicle underwent recall service at Hall Ram Dealership for replacement of
... the high-pressure fuel pump. This repair required removal and reinstallation of the high-pressure fuel supply lines. These lines are torque-to-yield, single-use components that must be replaced once removed to ensure proper sealing under high operating pressures. On April 7, 2025, while driving at highway speed, the high-pressure fuel line connected to the pump suddenly ruptured. This resulted in an uncontrolled release of fuel into the engine compartment, creating an immediate safety hazard. Atomized fuel was exposed to high-temperature engine components, significantly increasing the risk of ignition and fire. The failure also posed a risk of sudden engine power loss. The vehicle required emergency towing. A review of the March 25 service invoice shows no documentation that the high-pressure fuel lines were replaced. This strongly suggests the original single-use lines were reused, contrary to OEM standards and accepted repair procedures. Reuse of these components can lead to sealing failure, fatigue, and rupture under pressure. This incident raises concerns regarding compliance with federal safety regulations, including 49 U.S.C. Chapter 301 and FMVSS No. 301 governing fuel system integrity. A fuel line rupture under normal operating conditions indicates a critical safety defect and possible improper execution of a recall remedy. I request that NHTSA investigate whether authorized repair facilities are properly following required procedures during recall repairs, including replacement of single-use fuel system components.Read more

I have a 2010 Chrysler 300 and when I fill my tank up I take the handle out when it clicks I don’t keep filling because I know not to. My car will smell like someone poured gas into my backseat and if I roll the driver side window down for air it seems to get stronger for a little over 3 months now until it gets a quarter in a half below full. Now I don’t fill my car up all the way due to tha

I was followed home tonight to be told my car was pouring out gas from under the fuel pump area while I was driving. So I took a video of it pouring out under the driver back seat area and then I pulled off the back seat to find gas all on top of my brand new fuel pump. First I figured maybe the seal wasn’t on right but everything was put on correctly but yet I have no clue why there is gas everywhere especially seeing the pump is in correct. I can’t drive my car nor take my grandson anywhere with my car smelling like gas. Not understanding why my old and new fuel pump is backing up and I wouldn’t run my car on empty nor overfill. I have spent a bit of money into my car replacing things to continue to have the same problem. Major issue scared to ride in my car not knowing if it is going to catch on fire and that is my main transportation. By the way I changed my fuel pump because my car wouldn’t start yesterday and I didn’t hear the fuel pump turning on so tapped it a few times and it clicked on and it was whining so loud I parked it a few blocks away at a family members house scared to be stuck on the side of the road going home yesterday. Seatbelt lock box quit working as well I literally have to push it in 50 times to get it to click very irritating especially if you are in a hurry but that is way minor compared to my gas issue for the last few months Wish I could share video to show gas pouring out can’t see in picturesRead more

My 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe has a recurring pattern of excessive oil consumption, smoke from the exhaust, repeated check engine light events, P0420 catalyst-efficiency faults, and repeated catalytic-converter-related repairs. At approximately 75,000 miles, the vehicle shut down on the freeway. At approximately 121,000 miles, the first catalytic converter failed. Chevrolet of Wesley Chapel documented P

The vehicle also underwent major injector-related repair in early 2026. At 141,620 miles, Chevrolet of Wesley Chapel started an oil consumption test and stated in writing that oil consumption can lead to repeat failed converters and false oxygen sensor readings. Despite substantial repairs, the problem pattern continued. COMPONENT FAILURE: The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) failed on a 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 AWD Limited with fewer than 3,000 miles on the odometer. The ICCU controls AC onboard charging and DC-DC power conversion. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. SAFETY RISK: The ICCU failure caused a complete loss of vehicle propulsion, rendering the vehi
... cle fully undriveable. Warning lamps and system fault messages appeared on the instrument cluster prior to full failure. The vehicle lost all ability to be driven or charged. A sudden loss of propulsion in a battery electric vehicle poses significant safety risk to the driver and others on the road. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER CONFIRMATION: The failure was confirmed and inspected by the selling Hyundai dealership. Hyundai Motor America (the manufacturer) reviewed the case and issued a formal written determination in February 2026 concluding the defect was unrepairable, accepting a Lemon Law repurchase under Washington State RCW 19.118. This constitutes manufacturer confirmation that the ICCU failure is a non-repairable defect. WARNING SYMPTOMS: Multiple warning lamps and fault messages appeared on the vehicle’s instrument cluster and infotainment display prior to the vehicle becoming fully undriveable. These warnings preceded the total loss of propulsion. ADDITIONAL NOTE: Despite issuing a written Lemon Law repurchase acceptance in February 2026, Hyundai Motor America has failed to execute the repurchase for over 23 days past document submission, missing their own stated resolution deadline. This complaint is filed to create a federal record of both the ICCU safety defect and HMA’s failure to honor an accepted Lemon Law repurchase in a timely manner.Read more

The failure is believed to have originated in the fuel delivery system, specifically the check valve in the low-pressure fuel feed jumper line at the engine. This valve failed to seat properly, allowing high-pressure pulses to travel back into the low-pressure side of the system. This malfunction caused the S-shaped portion of the fuel feed line near the tank to vibrate excessively against its mou
... nting clip. This constant friction wore through the line, resulting in an active fuel leak. All damaged components remain on the vehicle and are available for inspection upon request. The safety of the driver, passengers, and the public is at immediate risk due to a severe fire hazard. Because the leak is located near the fuel tank and undercarriage, gasoline is being released where it could be ignited by road sparks, static electricity, or exhaust heat. A fuel leak of this nature threatens a catastrophic fire that could result in vehicle loss or personal injury. The problem has been confirmed via a physical inspection that matches the symptoms documented in a GM Service Bulletin (Recall - High Pressure Fuel Pump Leakage). While the vehicle has not yet been subjected to a formal tear-down by a dealer due to the danger of driving it with a leak, the visual evidence at the exact location specified in manufacturer documentation confirms the failure. To date, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. Prior to the leak, the primary symptoms were an audible rattling and ticking noise from the engine bay and underside, characteristic of the pressure pulses described in the TSB. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages, as the mechanical wear on the exterior of the fuel line occurred outside the scope of the vehicle’s onboard diagnostic sensors.Read more

... 26 by Lyle Pearson Acura (Boise, ID). The dealership diagnosed catastrophic internal engine failure with the following findings: spun rod bearing in cylinder #6, excessive metal debris in the oil pan, and bearing seizure to the crankshaft. The technician stated the failure pattern is consistent with the rod-bearing defect described in Acura Safety Recall / Service Bulletin 24-001. Although my VIN is NOT currently included in the recall population, the confirmed failure mode matches the known defect. This suggests the issue may extend beyond currently identified vehicles that are included in Acura Service Bulletin 24-001 and NHTSA recall 23V-751. The vehicle has a salvage title from prior cosmetic damage only; no engine, drivetrain, or structural components were affected. The vehicle has been properly maintained with documented service history. This failure represents a serious safety risk due to sudden loss of power in active traffic conditions, increasing the risk of collision or injury. I request NHTSA review this incident to determine whether additional vehicles should be included in the recall and to assess the broader safety risk.Read more

... estarted and was able to be driven again, but the failure occurred without warning and created a dangerous situation in traffic. Diagnostic trouble codes were present related to the hybrid system and high-voltage battery, including P1D43, P1A21, U029A, and U0412. These codes indicate faults in the hybrid control system and battery communication. A Chrysler service department inspected the vehicle, confirmed the trouble codes, and returned it to me without repair because the issue was not immediately reproducible at the dealership. The vehicle has a history of similar intermittent issues, including prior loss-of-power events and repeated service visits for hybrid system faults. The condition is not consistently reproducible, but when it occurs it results in a sudden loss of motive power while driving. This creates a significant safety risk due to unexpected loss of propulsion in active traffic.Read more

After starting the car, a message displayed on dashboard "Check Electrical System." I tried driving the car out of the garage and then a message displayed to the effect of "Stop the car and check battery." I called the dealer and they said to have the car towed to them. After having the car towed to the dealer, they ended up replacing the Integrated Charging Control System (ICCU) and fuse. The d

My 2022 Jeep Wrangler has an ongoing issue involving an oil and diesel leak, which creates a hazardous driving condition and poses a fire and safety risk. I had 93u9 criteria 04 recall done in February. As of March 6, I had a no power supply message. Without being able to charge it went to the dealer. They said it was the charge port assembly but not from the recall since that was software. Once that was fixed they charged the car and it immediately had the fault electrical malfunction. Now they say i need to replace the rear drive motor. Then thy c
... alled again and said the 12v battery needs to be replaced as well. This all happened while still at the dealer. I didn’t have those faults prior, yet they want to say none of its related. This appears all related. After I got the car back from the recall, I had two times the charging didn’t want to start, then I had ghost wiping with the rear wiper and the infotainment system rebooted several times while driving. Safety had gotten much worse and now there are cascading failures. Audi does not want to admit the recall was the cause, but the car had no issues prior and now a month later had $17000 in repairs. Audi has had the error code reports requested by me, but they have not provided them including the corporate office. I feel this recall caused a catastrophic failure of my battery and electrical system.Read more

The car is subject to a NHTSA recall 26V073. Mercedes has scheduled warranty repair for December 31, 2026, or more than 9 months from now. Our dealer advises that the scheduled date is just a holding date; there is no assurance that the repair will occur on or before that date. Mercedes has also said in writing that "the battery replacement remedy is not yet available" and that we should compla
... in to NHTSA if Mercedes does not fix this problem in a reasonable time. In the meantime, we are instructed to park the car outside and not to charge it more than 80%. (We've programmed it not to charge over 80%.) Even still, we are at risk that the car will burst into flames, potentially while we are in it, possibly with our grandchildren in the back seat. The other solution Mercedes has is that we should lease a different model at three times the cost of our present lease, thereby shifting the cost of this warranty issue onto us.Read more
