This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 24V-700 (Manufacturer Recall R24B2) due to a defect in the lithium-ion battery that can cause a fire during Level 3 DC Fast Charging. Since the initial notice, I have received four separate recall communications from the manufacturer, yet as of March 2026, no permanent remedy has been provided. The manufacturer’s only "interim" solution is an instruction
... to refrain from using the Level 3 DC Fast Charging (CHAdeMO) feature. This has effectively disabled a primary advertised function of the vehicle and creates a substantial safety risk should the port be used. This defect has rendered the vehicle unsellable on the secondary market and significantly impairs its daily utility, as I am unable to use charging infrastructure at my place of employment. The manufacturer continues to delay the final remedy with "coming soon" notifications, leaving me with an unsafe and substantially devalued asset for over a year.Read more

Head gasket failure diagnosed by Wittmeier Honda in February of 2026 Chico Ca. Car was initially throwing misfire codes, battery, fuel pump, then fuel injectors were replaced. Took it back to the dealer because car would sputter, dash is blacking out and I'm unable to indicate the speed at which I'm traveling, white smoke from exhaust, misfire, poor gas mileage, car nearly stalling in intersection
... . Car has been having this issue or possibly other issues contributing to this for nearly 25-30k miles. It is important to note that fuel pump was recalled in this model, car performance has significantly declined over the last 25k miles. This car is well maintained as in; regular oil, changes, transmission flushes, rear differential fluid change, tire rotation every 5-7k miles, brakes and rotors changed nearly every 30k front and back, fixing all issues as they arise. I say all of this so that there is a clear picture of the car maintenance and the issues it is having despite the proper care. This car has had several issues from about 150k miles. In my opinion this is premature for a car this well maintained. Though this car has had several issues over that past year I will put the most pressing and scariest date, the time it almost stalled in an intersection.Read more

My vehicle is not included in the current high voltage battery recall under NHTSA recall 26V073, as it has a manufacture date of 08/2024 per door jamb sticker, however, page 5 of the NHTSA report explicitly states “A change in the production procedure of our supplier ensures that this issue can no longer occur on vehicles produced from July 31, 2024 onwards.” This leaves car production betwe
... en May and July 31 (and likely beyond!) unaccounted for in the recall. My car was built in August 2024, likely with a battery manufactured prior to July 31, 2024 with the defect. I believe my car should be included in the recall/affected vehicles given its production date and the date of production remedy. While driving, the vehicle stutters during acceleration, creating hesitation and inconsistent power delivery. This occurs during normal driving conditions and has not improved after being inspected by a dealership. The issue has been reproduced multiple times and remains unresolved. The vehicle was taken in for service, but no effective repair was provided, and the condition persists. There is a
... n active recall related to a potential fuel injector defect, which may cause fuel to accumulate on top of the engine. The recall remedy is currently unavailable. Given the ongoing stuttering and known fuel system issue, there is concern this condition is related. This creates a safety risk, particularly when merging into traffic or accelerating from a stop, as the vehicle does not respond consistently. No warning lights have consistently appeared. The issue continues despite dealership involvement and lack of available recall repair.Read more

I am reporting a fuel‑system defect on my 2018 RAM 1500. The vehicle has only 43,325 miles, which is exceptionally low for its age, and it has been properly maintained. Despite this, the fuel‑tank venting system has failed. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a faulty vent valve located within the fuel tank. This defect prevents the vehicle from being refueled at a normal rate. During r
... efueling, the gas pump repeatedly shuts off, and a standard refueling process takes significantly longer than normal. This occurs at all stations and with all pumps. The dealer’s proposed remedy is complete replacement of the fuel tank at a cost of $2,104.64. Because the vent valve is integrated into the tank, they stated it cannot be serviced separately. A critical fueling component should not fail at this mileage under normal use, and the failure of the venting system raises concerns regarding safe refueling, potential fuel backsplash, and proper EVAP emissions operation. This is not a wear‑and‑tear issue. It is a premature failure of a core fuel‑system component. Stellantis has declined goodwill assistance, stating my vehicle is "too old", nor has it issued a recall for this defect, despite the unusually low mileage and the nature of the failure. A quick search on Google or YouTube yields multiple, and similar, customer experiences. I am submitting this report so NHTSA can evaluate whether this issue represents a broader defect affecting additional vehicles of this model and generation. Thank you in advance for NHTSA's time and consideration.Read more

My 2016 Subaru Outback CVT transmission has exhibited an intermittent jerking and grabbing sensation when accelerating from a stop, worse when cold, since at least February 2023. This is a known defect covered under Subaru warranty extension bulletin 16-115-18. February 2023 — An authorized Subaru dealer documented the complaint in writing. The technician stated the vehicle never warmed up durin
... g the test drive and dismissed the concern. The CVT issue was never repaired. I was never informed of Subaru's CVT warranty extension program. February 17 2026 — seven days before my warranty expiration — the same authorized Subaru dealer physically identified and documented a CVT oil pump cover leak. The same jerking complaint was again documented in writing. No repairs were made and the warranty expired one week later. The CVT defect has been physically confirmed by an authorized Subaru dealer within the warranty period and Subaru of America has denied my warranty claim in writing. This issue presents a safety concern. The unpredictable jerking and hesitation when accelerating from a stop creates dangerous situations in traffic, particularly at intersections and when merging. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Subaru chose to handle this known widespread defect as a quiet warranty extension rather than a mandatory recall despite hundreds of owners reporting identical symptoms.Read more

While operating my 2021 Honda Civic Type R (VIN: [XXX] ) in high-ambient temperatures (approximately 95°F), the vehicle experienced a sudden and total loss of motive power during acceleration while exiting a busy intersection. This resulted in an immediate engine stall in the path of oncoming traffic, creating a severe risk of a collision. Following the stall, the vehicle was extremely difficult
... to restart. Once restarted, it entered a 'limp home' mode with a severely restricted RPM limit and multiple dashboard warnings, including 'Emissions System Problem' and 'Rev Match System Problem.' A diagnostic scan performed immediately after the incident revealed a DTC P0087 (Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too Low). The symptoms—thermal-related failure, stalling under load, and the P0087 code—are identical to the documented mechanical failures of the Denso fuel pump impeller swelling defect. Although this production year and model are known to be part of the expanded fuel pump recall population, my specific VIN is not currently showing as 'remedied' or 'open' in the manufacturer's database. I am reporting this as an active, unaddressed safety defect that poses an unreasonable risk of crash or injury due to unpredictable engine failure in traffic. The high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failed internally while I was driving at night, causing the vehicle to suddenly stall and shut off completely while my children were in the vehicle. This vehicle previously had a manufacturer recall related to the fuel pump that was completed in 2022 and is now listed as closed. Despite the recall repair, the same failure occurred again. After further diagnostics from a auto mechanic shop, which we had to pay out of pocket. We learned it was a lifter failure. I have see numerous forums and people sighting "Lifter Failure" in Chevy Vehicles. Where most of us owners have to cover all cost out of pocket. Vehicle completely lost power and quite running in the middle of the desert in Arizona. This relates to Saftey Recall 93c. I had to have the car towed and repaired in Scottsdale, AZ. It's been over six months since the recall was issued and yet no remedy is available and I have not receiv

I think six months is enough time given that I cannot trust the reliability of my vehicle due to this serious problem. When a vehicle just "turns off" in the middle of the freeway it poses a huge safety risk both to the occupants and to other drivers in the area. So my complaint is that it's taking far too long for Stellates to produce parts to remedy this problem.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall (Recall 78C) on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe, which has now been open for approximately 139 days without a remedy. This recall involves engine manufacturing contamination that may lead to catastrophic engine failure, loss of propulsion, and potential fire risk. Despite the seriousness of the recall, Stellantis has failed to provid
... e a remedy and has given conflicting and unclear guidance regarding safe operation. At one point, I was instructed to operate the vehicle using the gasoline engine only. I was later told Stellantis cannot provide technical guidance and to contact the dealership. The dealership has stated they have no clear direction from Stellantis. As a result, I have no clear understanding of whether it is safe to operate the vehicle, use electric mode, or rely solely on the gasoline engine. Restricting use to the gasoline engine also prevents use of the plug-in hybrid system, meaning the vehicle cannot be used for its intended purpose, resulting in increased fuel costs over several months. I have also incurred out-of-pocket rental car expenses during recall service. Stellantis indicated reimbursement would be available but has not provided a process or responded to follow-ups. Given the nature of the recall and lack of guidance, I cannot determine if this vehicle is safe to transport my newborn child. At this point, I am concerned with both the unresolved defect and the manufacturer’s failure to provide consistent safety direction, communication, or a path toward resolution.Read more

Vehicle experienced a loss of acceleration while driving. When pressing the accelerator, engine RPM increased significantly but the vehicle did not increase speed. The vehicle felt as though it was stuck in one gear and would not upshift or downshift. The issue was most noticeable while driving uphill, where the vehicle was unable to maintain speed despite full throttle input. This created a safe

Initially there were mild symptoms, but it has become more severe and frequent, culminating in a near-complete inability to accelerate under load. No warning lights or messages were observed prior to or during the failure (if that’s true—adjust if needed). Vehicle has approximately 28,000 miles. The vehicle is currently at a dealership for inspection and diagnosis, but the issue has not yet been confirmed or resolved at the time of this report.Read more

On March 5, 2026, while I and my 2 passengers were traveling on the 405 Freeway at approximately 40–50 mph, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic total loss of power. The engine shut off and all electronic systems failed simultaneously, including the instrument cluster and all interior lighting. Most critically, the hazard lights were inoperable, leaving the vehicle invisible to high-speed traffic
... during the failure. Since I was traveling at highway speeds I was able to safely glide the vehicle to the center shoulder. After approximately 10–15 minutes, the dashboard, infotainment, and climate control systems began flickering intermittently before power temporarily returned. Upon attempting to re-enter traffic to reach an exit, the vehicle stalled a second time while in motion. I returned to the shoulder again. After another 10 minutes the vehicle started and I was eventually able to exit the freeway and reach my residence. The following morning, the vehicle was completely unresponsive and would not start. It was towed to Land Rover Santa Monica dealership on March 6, 2026, where it currently remains for diagnosis and repair. This incident on the 405 freeway marks the third occurrence of a total loss of propulsion and electrical failure while the vehicle was in motion. Despite previous repair attempts, the defect persists, rendering the vehicle fundamentally unsafe for operation. I am gravely concerned for my personal safety, as well as the safety of other motorists on public streets and highways. A vehicle that spontaneously stalls at high speeds—while simultaneously losing the ability to activate hazard lights—presents an unacceptable risk of a high-speed rear-end collision. Given that this is a recurring, catastrophic safety failure, I am requesting an immediate and permanent resolution, as the vehicle in its current state is a liability to public safety and unsafe to be driven by me or anyone.Read more

Yes. The vehicle has experienced multiple critical system failures, most notably involving a defective SX6 module, which is a central control unit responsible for coordinating key electronic, safety, and communication systems. Its failure has led to widespread issues, including persistent warning messages, driver assistance malfunctions, MMI system instability, and ultimately a complete high-volta
... ge system shutdown while driving. The repair is extensive, requiring full module replacement, software programming, and system recalibration across interconnected systems. The vehicle has remained inoperable due to significant delays in obtaining this part. This defect appears to be widespread among this vehicle’s make and model, as evidenced by numerous owner reports and forum discussions describing similar SX6 module failures with limited long-term resolution. The vehicle and all affected components are available for inspection upon request. The safety risk has been severe. The lane keep and lane centering system has shut off abruptly at highway speeds without warning, causing the vehicle to drift or swerve out of its lane and creating a high risk of collision. More critically, the vehicle suffered a complete high-voltage system failure while driving on public roads, resulting in a sudden and total loss of power without warning. This creates an extremely dangerous situation, as the vehicle cannot maintain speed or safely respond to surrounding traffic, significantly increasing the risk of an accident. Yes. The issues have been reproduced and confirmed by an authorized dealership, which also diagnosed a failed module requiring replacement. Without any warning, on March 15, 2026, I turned out of a parking lot onto a major road and I noticed it wouldn't accelerate above 20 mph, so I pulled off the road. I tried again and my vehicle still failed to accelerate. And on my third attempt, my vehicle decelerated and was about to completely stall. I managed to turn into a parking lot and avoid getting rear ended. However, this could have
... been a fatal event. While I was trying to accelerate, the vehicle was quiet as if the car wasn't even running. After shutting the engine off for awhile, I was able to drive the vehicle with caution. I reached out to two Genesis service departments regarding my vehicle failing to accelerate while driving and neither had heard any previous complaints, and the earliest appointment would be mid April. There was no sense of urgency, as I'm left to hesitantly drive my vehicle at the risk of it happening again and getting rear ended. And when my vehicle does go in for service, I'm weary whether the problem will be resolved properly since the service department is unaware of the issue. In addition, I have had this vehicle for only 4 months and 1 month into it, I already took it to service because of fuel odor that had not gone away since the day 1. But the service department didn't find anything wrong with the vehicle, so nothing was done to it. I also swung by another Genesis service department, in case they happened to be familiar with the cause of the odor. My vehicle still has the fuel odor and now I'm wondering if that is related to my vehicle not accelerating. While accelerating to highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly experienced a significant and continuous loss of power. Even with the accelerator fully pressed, the vehicle would not increase speed beyond roughly 50 mph. Based on the behavior and previous service history, the issue appears to be related to the engine, fuel delivery system, or overall powertrain. The incident created a serious safety c
... oncern for both the occupants and surrounding traffic. The vehicle could not properly accelerate, merge, or respond to normal highway conditions. Hazard lights had to be activated, and the vehicle remained in the slow lane for an extended period to avoid faster-moving traffic. The issue was consistent and repeatable throughout the drive. Multiple attempts to accelerate resulted in the same lack of response, and the loss of power persisted for the duration of the trip. The vehicle has not yet been inspected following this occurrence because when turned off and turned back on, the issue goes away and happens sporadically. It is also worth noting that the vehicle previously underwent a manufacturer-covered repair involving the high-pressure fuel pump, for which a warranty extension had been issued. This loss of power occurred after that repair was completed. No warning lights, alerts, or prior symptoms were present before or during the incident. Overall, the sudden loss of propulsion at highway speed posed an immediate safety risk, as the vehicle was unable to maintain appropriate speed or safely maneuver with traffic.Read more

While parked on a slight downhill grade, gasoline started leaking and created a significant puddle on the ground. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms. An independent service center ran numerous tests over two days, including a smoke test. Diagnosis: There is a hole in top section of fuel tank and the fuel tank needs replaced. Recommendation was to not drive vehicle with fuel tank over
... half full. Due to the potential of leaking fuel in the presence of a hot ignition source increasing the risk of fire, driving the vehicle long distance with defective fuel tank appears to represent an unreasonable safety risk. Unfortunately, the vehicle is currently 300 miles from home. Mazda’s Mexican-made plastic fuel tank specifically required for our vehicle’s VIN is not currently available. (Mazda makes a similar metal fuel tank in [XXX] which will not fit.) Mazda has an estimated three-month backlog in [XXX] for the fuel tank. Still awaiting repair due to lack of availability of the appropriate fuel tank. Major safety recall NHTSA 16V684000 for the 2015 Mazda3 addresses a manufacturing defect where a fuel tank weld could fail, leading to fuel leaks and a potential fire. Recall is for vehicles produced between 12/4/13 – 9/18/15. Our vehicle was manufactured 02/2015 in [XXX] . However, recall is limited to three specific series of VINs and our vehicle falls in the gap between subject VIN ranges. A recent NHTSA complaint XXX (1/27/26) has the same issue: fuel tank leak, but not within range of recall VINs. It seems that the list of affected VINs included in recall 16V684000 should be expanded to include additional Mexican manufactured vehicles potentially with the same issue. Or create a new recall. Having a hole in the top of a plastic fuel tank securely mounted to the vehicle is unexpected through normal wear and tear. Any fuel leakage increases the risk of fire. NHTSA should investigate if this is due to a defect in Mazda’s manufacturing process. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORRead more

My Mercedes Benz GLE450e Hybrid SUV has had a persistent but sporadic safety issue that suddenly causes the vehicle to go into "turtle mode" with a "performance extremely limited" warning when trying to accelerate quickly or sometimes when breaking quickly. In turtle mode, the car quickly loses acceleration, drops in speed and is then unable to accelerate properly. The sudden drop in speed and in
... ability to accelerate causes a major safety issue while driving - particularly on roads with other vehicles also travelling at high speeds. Last Friday, I was driving with my family on Interstate 95 when a tractor trailer truck did not see me beside it and started to switch into my lane. I tried to quickly accelerate to get out of the way before it hit us but my car went into "turtle mode" and the speed suddenly dropped by 15 or 20mph and would no longer drive correctly. Luckily, I was in the right lane and able to swerve onto the shoulder of the highway and narrowly avoid the large truck. Otherwise, if I had been in a middle lane, I would have either been hit by the truck or likely hit another car next to me. This issue has been sporadically occurring with my car for about 5 months now. I have had it into the Mercedes dealer three times and, each time, they say they think they fixed the issue. But, each time the same issue has returned. They said that Mercedes USA knows it is a big issue with their new hybrid SUVs but Mercedes doesn't yet know how to fix the problem and has been unwilling to publicly acknowledge the problem or offer it's customers any assistance. Doing a quick Google search online for "Mercedes hybrid performance extremely limited" also quickly brings up different online forums where other owners of this same car have had the exact same issue that Mercedes has been unable to fix or resolve. Driving a car that can suddenly lose the ability to accelerate is a major safety hazard and I would sincerely appreciate if the NHTSA would help to address itRead more

2021 Hybrid CR-V - within the last 10 months the vehicle has twice lost engine power while driving on expressways with just enough time to pull off the road. In the same period of time, at least 6 times, when initially starting the engine, the engine runs roughly and will not accellerate. So far, this has happened in cold or cool weather but not extremely cold weather. In an effort to restart th
... e system, we then shut the system off, wait a few minutes and try restarting. Occaisionally, the engine will start normally after this "reset". More often, if the "reset" doesn't work, we shut off the heat/cooling system (to keep the system from calling for the engine power) and restart the system in EV Mode. The car will begin moving in EV Mode. The engine then starts and runs normally when accellerating beyond the EV system's capacity to accelerate. We understand this problem does not register in the car's computer as a "fault" once the car's engine operation returns to normal. Therefore, the dealers are unable to diagnose the problem. We have read of many other people having the same experience without any satisfactory correction from the dealerships or mechanics. Because this is an intermitant and unpredictable failure, and because the engine and system operates normally for long periods between incidents, the error must be computer/electrical and not related to the fuel pump. We have also replaced the aged engine battery and cleaned the cables. This did not correct the problem. Any assitance in resolving this issue is appreciated. We are concerned that the system will fail completely at the most inopportune time, leaving someone stranded on the highway or being a road hazard on a highway.Read more

Year: 2022 Make: Chevrolet Model: Silverado 1500 Engine: 2.7L TurboMax (L3B) VIN: [XXX] Mileage at Failure: 119,139 Description of Problem: 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 2.7L L3B TurboMax engine is completely inoperable due to Cylinder 4 exhaust roller follower failure causing exhaust camshaft failure and bent exhaust valves. Vehicle shakes severely, will not accelerate, check engine light on,
... and has gone into limp mode. Diagnostic codes P0304 (Cylinder 4 misfire) and P2101 (electronic throttle actuator fault triggered by engine shaking and limp mode) were recorded. All external components including spark plugs, coils, and injector harnesses were inspected and ruled out as causes. Failure is confirmed mechanical and internal. This failure was diagnosed and documented in writing by an authorized Chevrolet dealership on March 12, 2026 (Repair Order XXX, Service Advisor [XXX] ). The dealer's written estimate states verbatim: "Failed Cylinder 4 exhaust roller follower failure causing exhaust camshaft failure and bent exhaust valves. Cylinder head replacement required to correct this concern. Direct cause of engine noise and misfire condition." Dealer repair quote: $10,371.34. A second independent shop confirmed the same failure and cited Active Fuel Management (AFM) and Direct Fuel Injection (DFI) as known contributing design factors in this engine's oil consumption and internal wear pattern. That shop quoted between $11,876.88 and $14,897.35. This is a known pattern in the L3B engine platform. Consumer Reports has documented a 4% catastrophic failure rate in this engine. Multiple NHTSA complaints exist for this same failure across 2019-2022 model years. GM has issued technical service bulletins but has not issued a recall. General Motors was formally notified of this failure via certified mail and executive email on March 24, 2026. I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stopped propelling the car and the engine seemed to be off. I looked at the dash board and saw that the car was indicating it was off and that I needed to step on the brake and hit the ignition button to turn it back on. I barely had control of the car but was able to pull off to the side of the road. I then had to wait several minutes
... for the car to respond and turn back on. This has happened in the past to me with this car but this is the first time I knew I could report it here. This is a terrible vehicle and I’ve had nothing but safety issues with it since I leased it.Read more

My vehicle was inspected by a mechanic after experiencing sudden loss of power and stalling while merging onto the expressway in active traffic. At the time of the incident, the vehicle became unable to accelerate properly, creating a serious safety hazard due to surrounding vehicles traveling at highway speeds. The mechanic determined that the fuel pump had failed. During inspection prior to rep
... lacement, the mechanic identified metal shavings present in the fuel system, which appear to have originated from the fuel pump. These metal fragments contaminated the system and pose a risk of further engine damage. This failure appears to be related to a known issue involving fuel pump defects in Ford vehicles. The design and/or function of the fuel pump may allow internal deterioration that leads to system-wide contamination and potential engine failure. This issue presents a serious safety concern due to the risk of sudden stalling and loss of power while driving, particularly during high-speed merging conditions.Read more

While driving between [XXX] and [XXX] , the vehicle suddenly lost fuel. The estimated miles to empty started to drop rapidly from 70 miles to 50 miles within minutes. At a safe point, I pulled over, there was no pooling of fuel under the vehicle, no other warning lights were issued. I turned around to return to [XXX] , the engine stalled and ran out of gas at mile marker 18 just north of [XXX]
... . I left the vehicle on the side of the road and walked back to [XXX] . This stretch of road has no cell service. The vehicle was towed to Corwin Ford for inspection. I requested that Recall CSP25S76 be completed on the vehicle, and replace the fuel injectors. The response was that the fuel tank needs to be replaced. They have not provided diagnostic evidence of why. I think this falls under CSP 21S38. Additionally, the catalytic converter was replaced in January under [XXX] and the emissions warranty extension. The vehicle has high mileage, but the purge valve should not have stuck open and this is a known issue with the Ford Bronco Sports. The vehicle is experiencing excessive engine oil consumption. The engine was found by the dealership to be low by 3 quarts of oil after about 1000 miles during an oil consumption test, indicating abnormal oil loss. The suspected failure involves internal engine components, possibly piston rings, allowing oil to enter the combustion chamber and burn. This condition creates a safety risk because the
... engine can become critically low on oil, without warning, potentially leading to engine damage, loss of power, or engine failure while driving. The problem has been reproduced and documented by the dealership during oil consumption testing. However, there are inconsistencies in the dealership’s reporting, as later documentation stated that no oil consumption was found despite earlier records showing excessive oil loss. This vehicle has been inspected multiple times by an authorized dealership and is currently part of an open case with the manufacture. The vehicle was also held at the dealership for approximately three weeks without clear documentation of work performed. There were minimal warnings indicators prior to the issue. The vehicle showed rough engine performance, which was consistent with oil fouling the spark plugs. No clear warning light reliably indicated the severity of the oil loss before the condition was discovered during testing.Read more

2023 GMC Yukon XL 6.2L V8 experienced progressive engine defects starting in first year. At 7,445 mi (Jan 2023), first dealer visit for engine issues. At 10,315 mi (Apr 2023), Cyl 2 fuel injector failed (internally open), vehicle TOWED to dealer, replaced under warranty. At 14,982 mi (Aug 2023), identical Cyl 7 injector failure (internally open), replaced under warranty. Two identical failures on
... different cylinders within 15,000 mi indicates systemic defect. By 30,409 mi (Aug 2024), dealer performed engine decarbonization due to carbon buildup from fuel injection issues. Dealer recommended additional decarbs at 38,077 mi and 42,577 mi. At 56,028 mi (Mar 2026), engine suffered catastrophic failure: piston ring failure causing excessive oil consumption and engine destruction, requiring full engine replacement. This matches GM's known 5.3L/6.2L V8 piston ring defect (subject of $150M class action settlement). Defective injectors caused incomplete combustion, carbon buildup on piston rings, ring tension loss, and catastrophic engine failure. Vehicle also has unfixed suspension defect (camber bolt/alignment). Vehicle visited dealer 8+ times. Engine failure poses serious safety risk from sudden power loss at highway speeds. Component/System Failure: The hybrid/electric propulsion system intermittently loses power while driving. Electric output is progressively reduced to approximately 50%, then 25%, and then fully disabled, even when sufficient battery charge remains. The condition appears to involve the hybrid control/electric drive system. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. What Happened / Safet
... y Risk: The loss of electric propulsion occurs unpredictably during normal operation, including both highway and city driving. The reduction in available power and sudden loss of electric functionality creates a potential safety concern, particularly when driving in traffic or at higher speeds, where reduced or inconsistent propulsion may impact the ability to maintain speed or respond to driving conditions. Additionally, the vehicle is subject to a high-voltage battery recall involving fire risk, which raises concern regarding safe operation and storage of the vehicle. Reproduction / Dealer Confirmation: The issue has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership (Johnson Auto Plaza, Brighton, CO). The dealership also confirmed that the same issue was reproduced on another Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicle on their lot. Inspection by Manufacturer / Others: The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership and escalated to Jeep Engineering. The manufacturer has been unable to diagnose the issue due to the absence of diagnostic codes and has not identified a repair. Warning Lamps / Messages / Symptoms: No consistent warning lamps or diagnostic codes are present when the failure occurs. The loss of electric functionality happens without a predictable pattern and without clear diagnostic indicators. Additional Notes: The issue occurs unpredictably under all normal driving conditions, including: Highway driving at speed City driving at low speed Various battery charge levels (low and high) The dealership has suggested possible driver-related causes; UNsupported by car behaviorRead more

While driving, the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic failure involving the engine and turbocharger, resulting in an immediate loss of power and the vehicle becoming disabled in an active roadway. The failure occurred without warning and required a response from the San Diego Police Department due to the vehicle being immobilized in traffic. This created a hazardous situation for the drive
... r and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle had approximately 26,000 miles at the time of failure. The vehicle was later inspected by an authorized BMW dealership, which acknowledged the failure but attributed it to a non-OEM oil filter without providing any technical explanation or evidence showing causation. A sudden loss of power in a moving vehicle presents a significant safety risk, especially when it occurs without warning and leaves the vehicle stranded in traffic.Read more

Component/System: Fuel System – Fuel Filler / Left-Side Radiator and Cooling Fan Assembly (subject to NHTSA Recall 25V536). What happened: On June 15, 2024, I was refueling my 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 at a BP gas station in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. As I removed the fuel pump nozzle from the vehicle, a violent explosion occurred. I was immediately engulfed in a fireball. My clothing caught fi
... re and was burning me. I jumped clear of the flames and extinguished the fire on my clothing. I saw that the vehicle remained fully engulfed in flames with the pump nozzle still lodged in the filler. I ran to the adjacent pump island where a station attendant was attempting but was unable to open a locked fire extinguisher cabinet. I broke the glass with both of my bare hands to remove the fire extinguisher. I sustained a severe laceration to my forehead that was approximately 3 inches long and required plastic surgery of over 50 stitches to close. I then ran to the car that was burning with approximately 10 foot flames and I used the fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the vehicle and pump. I then pulled the pump handle from the fuel filler opening and called the police. The police and fire department arrived and confirmed the fire was extinguished. The flames singed the hair on my head and legs. Component availability: Documentation including photographs, police report, and medical records are available. Safety risk: A fuel-fed explosion at an active gasoline pump created an extreme and immediate risk of death or serious injury to me the station attendants and others. Dealer/manufacturer confirmation: GM subsequently issued NHTSA Recall 25V536, acknowledging the defect — fuel spillage during refueling can contact the left-side radiator cooling fan, which remains active even with the ignition off, causing ignition. This recall directly confirms the defect that caused my incident. Insurance inspection: The police and Geico inspected the vehicle. No warnings at all.Read more
