2017 Ford Escape 65,000 miles,1.5l coolant intrusion.#2 cylinder misfire code. First thing upon raising the hood noticed and acknowledged there was no coolant in resevoir. Attempting to replace spark plugs. Removed/replaced #4 plug. Attempting to replace #3 spark plug, plug broke off. Researching and collaborating with reputable mechanic concluded that short block coolant intrusion has occurred.
... Upon disassembly have encountered turbo boost and catalytic converter full of oil, also needing replaced. Head has been sent to machine shop for inspection and repair. Presently awaiting for repairs to be completed and costs established. Present estimate over $5000. I paid cash for this vehicle in 2019. Vehicle had been leased for 2 years previous. Vehicle had 20,000 miles on it. Ford was well aware of the coolant intrusion (bad engineering) is before they sold me the vehicle in November 2019. They never mentioned or offered any warranty specific to this issue. They sold me a a vehicle knowing that if enough things went wrong while driving this vehicle, catastrophic situation was possible. They should have corrected this issue before they sold it to the next customer.Read more

Vehicle stutters when accelerating under normal driving conditions, causing uneven acceleration which can be dangerous in a situation where I am merging into traffic or turning from a stop onto a roadway. I believe this may be connected to the fuel injector recall which has been open without repair options since July 2025.

... the engine running out of oil, the vehicle provided zero warning lights or signals. No "Low Oil Pressure" light or "Check Engine" light ever appeared. This "silent failure" left me stranded in a high-risk traffic situation with a child who has special needs, as I had no warning to pull over safely. • April 8, 2026: The Kia dealership confirmed the engine is seized. Improper Handling of the Claim: The dealership is currently refusing to honor Warranty Extension WTY026 (15-year/150,000-mile Oil Pressure Switch). Their refusal is based on an outdated service sticker in the window that is over 9,000 miles old, while they are ignoring my verified paper receipt from February 11, which proves the vehicle was serviced less than two months ago. The dealership is requesting a full breakdown (teardown) of the engine at my expense to determine the cause. It is my position that requiring a consumer to pay for a mechanical breakdown is an unreasonable barrier to a warranty claim—especially when they have not yet performed non-invasive diagnostic tests, such as a videoscope/borescope inspection, to check for the known oil pressure switch leak covered under WTY026. Significant Safety Concern: The failure of the Oil Pressure Switch (WTY026) to trigger a dashboard warning is a critical safety defect. This failure led directly to a seized engine while I was transporting children. I am requesting that the Department of Transportation investigate this safety-system failure and that Kia Corporate override the dealership’s request for a consumer-funded teardown, given that I have provided proof of maintenancRead more

I was driving to work when my vehicle’s check engine light illuminated, accompanied by a warning message stating, “Low oil pressure—turn vehicle off.” I immediately followed this instruction and shut the vehicle off. When I attempted to restart it, the engine cranked repeatedly before finally starting, but the same warning message reappeared, prompting me to turn it off again. A few months
... prior, I had the vehicle inspected at the dealership, where I was informed that it passed the 6.2L engine national recall inspection. On April 9, 2026, the vehicle was towed to the dealership for further evaluation. On April 10, I was contacted and informed that technicians could hear a metallic noise coming from the engine. However, they stated that the readings from the PICO test were not high enough to meet the criteria for engine replacement. The dealership recommended replacing the camshaft position sensor but could not confirm whether this repair would resolve the issue. They also indicated that I would be responsible for all associated costs. Despite the presence of concerning symptoms, including abnormal engine noise and repeated warning messages, I was advised that General Motors would not approve an engine replacement unless the engine either completely seizes or fails both required diagnostic tests. At this time, my vehicle has only failed one of the two tests. As a result, I have been left without a reliable and safe vehicle, which is significantly impacting my ability to commute to work. This situation places me at risk of financial hardship and potential job loss. I am seeking a resolution that ensures my vehicle is properly diagnosed and repaired so that it is safe to operate.Read more

The 2022 ioniq 5 was bought used with 43k MI and within 2k miles of driving in 50-85F climate and 7kwh l2 charging I witnessed the orange check EV light flash while I was driving on the highway. I exited and powrr cycled the car and the EV light remained. The next morning the orange check EV light was gone. I went to the dealership for a diagnostic and they said they could not replicate the error
... code or had found any history of the error code coming up without proving to me or showing me any substantial evidence that they tested for anything at the Escondido Hyundai dealership in California. I escalated the issue with Hyundai corporate and was assigned a case manager that ultimately gave me the same answer that they could not replicate any codes and that I should take the car back and drive normally. After extensive research I found that the orange check ev light is a more dangerous sign than the red check ev light because it indicates that the ICCU unit is about to fail. Research shows that due to thermal stress the ICCU will inevitably fail after the orange check AV light comes on. Further research shows that Hyundai had officially stated a 1% failure rate for the ICCU unit in all of their EVs built on the e-gmp cars to date but some projections are at 10% failure rate or higher and that Hyundai Kia is downplaying the issue similarly to how they tried to do the same with the Theta 2 GDI engines that they had been sued and were responsible to pay over $300 or so million dollars as well as $24 million to a employee whistleblower a few years ago. I highly suggest that the nhtsa or other organizations that have the power to force Hyundai Kia to do the right thing so that no further lives are at risk from these ICCU units that have flawed designs that have not been fixed, only remedied via software update or replaced with refurbished units at the most with inevitable failure as thermal stress is experienced.Read more

I own a Ford Explorer 2018 bought as second hand in July 2020. For the last three years, the investment in it has been exponential. Finally working with a proper car mechanic, I understood that all the fixes I have made, have been known for a while. I have received several recalls and searching for more, I found one that **I did not receiveD*** and I'm having an issue with it. It can be seen in th
... e attached document. Research shows that "the 2018 Ford Explorer has significant, well-documented complaints, primarily regarding catastrophic water pump failure, transmission issues, and multiple recalls. The 3.5L engine's internal water pump often fails around 125,000 miles, causing engine destruction. Other common issues include rear suspension toe link fractures, exhaust smells, and electrical problems." My water pump failed way before 125K miles, as the previous statement states.. Mine is 94K. I fixed it last year and now it's broken again. And by the say of the mechanic, it could be because of the issue of the catalyst, of a recall I didn't get and that probably got the previous owner. I have tried to reach Ford through letter and phone and no one answers. I finally spoke to someone on Tuesday from the warranty department and told me he will reach me in 3 hours. Two days have gone by. I also did a complaint on BBB and the refuse to fix and reimbursed the recall I didn't received.Read more

Hello, I am reaching out regarding a serious safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe under an active recall (78C), which Stellantis has acknowledged can cause an engine fire or sudden loss of vehicle function. Despite the severity of this recall, there is currently no remedy available. I have contacted Stellantis corporate multiple times and have been met with consistently poor cu
... stomer service, including being told I am not allowed to open another case because my issue is “irrelevant” due to it involving a recall. I am leasing a vehicle that is not safe to drive, with a known fire risk and no repair solution. I have formally requested that Stellantis buy back the vehicle without penalty given the safety risk and inability to use the vehicle as intended. They have refused to accept the vehicle back or offer any meaningful resolution. This raises serious concerns about consumer safety and corporate accountability—particularly when a manufacturer acknowledges a defect but refuses to take responsibility for removing unsafe vehicles from the road.Read more

I am filing this complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall on my 2021 Ford F-150 (VIN: [XXX] ), Recall 25S75 / NHTSA 25V455, issued July 2025. As of today, April 10, 2026, no remedy is available and Ford has not provided a firm commitment beyond a verbal statement from a customer service representative. I contacted Ford in writing via certified mail (delivered March 27, 2026) and by email. F
... ord Case Number: [XXX]. I received one email response on March 31, 2026 from Patrice Hargrove, Truck Concern CXS, stating the remedy would not be available until June 2026, that Ford had not advised me to stop driving, and that Ford would not provide a loaner or rental reimbursement. I responded the same day asking for written confirmation of the June 2026 date and confirmation that my correspondence had been documented in my case file. I followed up again on April 6, 2026. I have received no response to either email. My concern is not only the recall itself but the history of this specific vehicle. In October 2022, this truck stalled in the middle of the street while I was driving with my children in the vehicle. It was towed and serviced, with the cause attributed to alternator failure. The failure mode described in Recall 25S75, an engine stall caused by fuel pump failure, is the same experience I have already had with this truck. This vehicle has also undergone a rear axle wiring harness repair in June 2024 and a transmission service under Customer Satisfaction Program 25L02 in December 2025. I have two young children who ride in this vehicle regularly. Ford has acknowledged a safety defect that can cause an engine stall while driving, has provided no interim safety accommodation, and has not responded to my follow-up correspondence in over a week. I am requesting that NHTSA review Ford's handling of this recall and the adequacy of Ford's response to affected owners. There was also an orange/pink-like liquid pouring out of the left side of the vehicle from the bottom. The fire department came and from what they told me, they cut a "cut loop" to prevent the battery from continuing to get more power. They told me the cells in the battery were continuing to release energy and heat to the point that it was melting the carpets in the ID.4's floor. Incident date: Feb 1, 2025
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The high-pressure fuel pump and related fuel system sensor failed, resulting in a sudden loss of engine power. The failure was confirmed by diagnostic trouble codes retrieved by an independent mechanic. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of
... others put at risk? While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly lost power and became inoperable, leaving me unable to accelerate or maintain speed. This created a dangerous situation with surrounding traffic, including a truck traveling behind me, increasing the risk of a rear-end collision or crash. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. An independent mechanic retrieved diagnostic trouble codes indicating failure of the high-pressure fuel pump and related sensor. A dealership acknowledged the issue but was unable to reproduce the problem at the time of inspection because the codes had cleared. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle was inspected by an authorized dealership after being towed. No police or insurance inspections were conducted. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no significant warning signs prior to the sudden loss of power. The failure occurred unexpectedly while driving. Diagnostic codes were retrieved immediately after the incident but were no longer present during the dealership inspection.Read more

The vehicle is a 2022 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. While driving in traffic, the engine suddenly stalled and shut off without warning. This created an immediate safety risk as the vehicle lost power in the middle of active traffic flow, requiring me to quickly maneuver to avoid blocking traffic and potential collision. The issue appears consistent with a fuel delivery or fuel pressure failure, as the en
... gine restarted immediately after the stall. Prior to this incident, the vehicle had shown intermittent warning signs including check engine light activation and suspected misfire-related alerts. The problem has not yet been fully reproduced or confirmed by a dealer as a root cause, although the vehicle has been presented for service and was found to have no active recall tied to the VIN according to the dealership. No formal inspection or diagnosis confirming the exact failed component has been completed yet. No police, insurance representatives, or manufacturer inspectors have examined the vehicle at this time. Warning lamps (check engine light) and possible misfire-related symptoms were present prior to the failure. These symptoms appeared intermittently over the weeks leading up to the stall, particularly after periods of low fuel operation. Based on the symptoms and behavior, the incident closely matches known fuel system issues reported in similar Ford Mustang EcoBoost vehicles, including those associated with fuel pressure loss leading to engine stall while driving. The suspected system involved is the low-pressure fuel delivery system (fuel pump or related components), which is available for inspection upon request.Read more

I am submitting a complaint regarding a 2021 Kia Sorento SX that experienced a premature and catastrophic transmission failure at approximately 76,000 miles. The vehicle developed loss of power, hesitation, and erratic shifting at low speeds (0–30 mph), creating a potentially dangerous condition when attempting to accelerate into traffic or cross intersections. A Kia dealership diagnosed the is
... sue as TCM code P193B79 and determined that the failure involved an internal high-pressure oil pump within the transmission, requiring full transmission replacement. This failure occurred despite proper maintenance and completion of Kia’s SC250 software update, which appears to address transmission-related drivability concerns. My maintenance records confirm compliance with manufacturer recommendations. The symptoms and failure mode closely align with the type of transmission issues addressed in Kia service campaigns and recalls (including SCN-520), yet Kia has refused to provide coverage or reimbursement, stating that my specific diagnostic code does not exactly match the recall criteria. As a result, I was forced to pay approximately $5,300 out of pocket for a full transmission replacement on a vehicle with relatively low mileage. This raises serious concerns that: * The underlying transmission issue may extend beyond the narrow criteria defined in the recall * Software updates may not fully address an underlying mechanical defect * Consumers may be experiencing similar failures without coverage Additionally, the loss of power and hesitation at low speeds presents a clear safety risk, particularly in normal driving conditions. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether transmission failures in the 2021 Kia Sorento are broader than currently recognized and whether affected consumers should receive expanded coverage or reimbursement.Read more

The vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 26V073 (High-Voltage Battery Fire Risk). Since March 2023, at 6,177 miles, the vehicle has experienced recurring powertrain and battery malfunctions. Despite 11 total service visits and 8 specific attempts to repair the battery management system and powertrain modules, the defect remains unresolved. The vehicle currently displays sudden red dashboard warning
... s stating "Engine will not restart" and "Malfunction" while driving at highway speeds and on sideroads. These incidents cause a sudden loss of confidence in the vehicle's propulsion and power. According to the manufacturer’s recall chronology, these warnings indicate a potential internal battery short circuit, which could lead to a thermal event/fire. Safety is compromised as the vehicle may stall in high-speed traffic, and the manufacturer has directed that the vehicle be parked outside and away from structures due to fire risk. The manufacturer has admitted that previous software "remedies" were failed attempts and that a hardware remedy (battery replacement) is unavailable for at least 9 months (December 2026) . This leaves the driver (owner) in a dangerous, non-conforming vehicle for an unreasonable duration. After dealership service and recall-related calibration work, my vehicle developed multiple safety-related issues that did not exist prior to service. The dealership documented a diagnostic trouble code for “Hybrid/EV Battery Thermal Runaway Detected” (P29FF00), a critical high-voltage battery safety fault. Instead of diagnosing and repairing the root cause, the dealership cleared the fault
... code and returned the vehicle to me, stating it was operating as designed. Following this, the vehicle has exhibited abnormal and unsafe behavior, including significant and inconsistent loss of driving range, irregular energy consumption, regenerative braking issues, and braking concerns such as squealing, mechanical drag, and rotor heat buildup affecting stopping performance. Additionally, multiple control modules associated with the recall and calibration work are affected, including systems related to driver assistance and vehicle operation. These systems required recalibration, and the vehicle’s behavior changed following this process, raising concerns about improper calibration of safety-critical systems such as lane keeping and stability functions. The dealership’s documentation confirms fault codes were erased without confirmed repair or root cause resolution. No clear diagnostic explanation was provided for the battery fault or related system issues. Audi of America has been notified and has refused further escalation or assistance, directing all responsibility back to the dealership despite unresolved safety concerns. I am concerned the vehicle is operating with unresolved high-voltage battery and system faults that pose a serious safety risk, including potential battery failure, loss of braking performance, and malfunctioning driver assistance systemsRead more

While driving on a highway at approximately 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost acceleration without warning and was unable to exceed approximately 10–15 mph. This created a dangerous situation requiring immediate maneuvering across multiple lanes of traffic to reach safety. At the time of the incident, the check engine light was illuminated. Diagnostic trouble codes P0191, P2177, and P2179 were
... later identified, indicating fuel pressure irregularities and air/fuel imbalance. The vehicle was inspected by a dealership, which diagnosed a purge valve vacuum leak and faulty high-pressure fuel system components. The repair required replacement of the purge valve and high-pressure fuel system components. The failure involved components within the fuel/propulsion system and engine systems, which are controlled in part by the electronic control module (ECM). This resulted in a sudden and unexpected loss of propulsion while driving at highway speed. Prior to the incident, there were issues with refueling, including difficulty filling the fuel tank when near empty, indicating a potential developing issue within the fuel system. This condition created a significant safety risk due to the sudden and unexpected loss of vehicle speed in active highway traffic, increasing the risk of collision.Read more

I just started the truck, put it in gear, and began driving slowly through the parking lot. The gas pedal was unresponsive—even when pressed all the way to the floor, the truck would not accelerate or move. This has happened multiple times, both while rolling slowly and sometimes from a complete stop. It occurs intermittently.

I have been waiting since September 2024 to use my level 3 charger port again. I can't safely use it without a risk of fire severely limiting the cars use and range. On top of this my main battery was tested at the Nissan Dealer November 2025 and needs replaced under warranty. It will rapidly lose charge when on the highway potentially leaving me stranded on the side of a busy road. I only hav
... e about 30% usable battery and cant Level 3 charge without risk of fire. I have been waiting almost 2 years now and feel Nissan has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for both repairs. This is my only car and I cant continue driving it like this. I was informed of the charging issue by recall notice and started seeing the battery issue Summer 2025. If they ever do fix this, I'm going to have a hard time trusting driving it on the highway. Nissan still can't give me an ETA for the replacement battery. I've been waiting 6 months and counting now.Read more

The car has signs of current recall in other Cx-5 Models. Hesitation with acceleration or driving at high speed, reduced power, not responding appropriately when accelerating or would accelerate on its own, strong smell of gas after the car has been driven and is parked. I know there is currently a recall for a gas pump failure. There is no engine light on.

My vehicle has slowed while driving four times within the last 12 months. I have taken it to the Hendrick Lexus dealership in Charlotte as well as the Scott Clark Toyota dealership in Charlotte. I was told by the Lexus dealership they could not find anything wrong (this was back in July 2025). The Toyota dealership stated (March 2026) that there may be a problem with the fuel pump, but they were u
... nable to confirm this issue and after getting the vehicle back the same thing happened while driving. This has been concerning. It is very dangerous for us to drive the vehicle at this point. I see that there has been a safety recall introduced in the state of Georgia at a Smyrna Lexus dealership, but I have yet to see any other information. I would greatly appreciate an investigation. Thank you.Read more

Original letter to Hyundai below. The car is currently at a dealer again for repair of the same issue. Fuel pump replaced in Nov 2025 but issue has returned in March 2026. Videos of the issue recently occurring are available. Good morning, We had our 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid lose power while merging onto the freeway in November 2025. I was pressing the accelerator and it did not do anything, just k
... ept rapidly decelerating. Pulled the car to the shoulder and turned it off completely and back on, and the car started up with the engine running which was unusual- typically the car starts up in silent electric mode. It would not accelerate past a few miles per hour. This has now happened on multiple occasions, disappearing for a few days only to return. It has gotten very dangerous to lose speed and acceleration into a busy freeway and almost caused an accident yesterday. We were thankfully close to a dealer (Glassman Hyundai in Southfield, MI) and were able to limp it a mile down the shoulder at low speed to drop it off. However, they are telling us they have no loaners available to provide us which seems unacceptable with a car under warranty with 18k miles on it. Is there anything you’re able to do to assist? Are there any known fixes for the issue that can be reported to the dealer? Thanks, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel delivery system and engine power management. The vehicle suffers from sudden "Limp Mode" activation and total loss of acceleration. The vehicle is available for inspection. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety was severely compromised when the vehicle sud
... denly lost power while traveling at highway speeds. This occurred twice in high-speed traffic, creating an immediate risk of a rear-end collision as the vehicle could no longer maintain the flow of traffic or accelerate away from danger. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. The issue was reported to a dealer in 2024, but because the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) turned off after a restart, the dealer was unable to reproduce the failure or find stored error codes at that time. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes, it was inspected by an authorized Honda dealer in 2024, but no repairs or actions were taken as they could not replicate the fault. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No. There were no prior symptoms or early warnings. In both incidents (2024 and yesterday), the engine light illuminated simultaneously with a sudden, localized loss of speed and a total inability to power up or accelerate while on the highway.Read more

A motorcycle fire occurred involving a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 while the vehicle was parked and not in operation. The specific component that failed is UNKNOWN. However, based on the observed damage pattern, the fire appears to have originated in the rear-mid section of the motorcycle, in the area near the battery, wiring harness, or fuel-related components. The incident presents a significa
... nt safety concern because the fire occurred without active operation of the vehicle. This raises the possibility of an electrical short, battery-related issue, or fuel system malfunction that could lead to spontaneous ignition. If such a condition were to occur in a confined space (such as a garage) or near structures, it could pose a serious risk of property damage, injury, or loss of life. There were no known warning lights, error messages, or prior symptoms observed before the incident. The failure occurred suddenly. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer. No technical inspection has been conducted to determine the root cause of the fire. A local fire department investigated the incident and determined that the cause of the fire is “undetermined.” No external ignition source or confirmed arson was identified. The damaged motorcycle remains available for inspection upon request. Given the severity of the incident and the lack of a determined cause, further investigation into potential electrical or fuel system defects is warranted to ensure there is no broader safety risk affecting similar vehicles.Read more
