I am reporting a safety concern related to NHTSA Recall 19V120 involving my Kia Soul. The recall identifies a defect related to catalytic converter overheating, which can lead to engine damage, stalling, and increased risk of fire. My vehicle is currently experiencing an illuminated check engine light and unsafe driving conditions. During service evaluation at Kia of Columbus, I was informed that
... my vehicle has a catalytic converter blockage contributing to these issues. However, I was also told that my vehicle does not qualify for recall repair because no engine code was detected during diagnostics. This is concerning, as the vehicle is actively exhibiting symptoms consistent with the recall condition, including a confirmed catalytic converter issue and an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp. Despite this, I was denied full recall coverage and instead offered a goodwill repair requiring me to pay 50% of the cost. I believe this situation represents a failure to properly apply recall criteria and raises concerns regarding customer safety, as the vehicle may be at risk for engine failure or fire. I am requesting further review of this matter and investigation into the handling of this recall by the servicing dealership.Read more

The vehicle is a 2020 Toyota Sienna. While driving, the engine suddenly shut off without warning, creating a dangerous situation and loss of power. This occurred while transporting children, increasing the safety risk. A mechanic inspected the vehicle and diagnosed a failure of the low-pressure fuel pump. The problem appears intermittently — sometimes the vehicle runs normally, and other time
... s it stalls or loses power. The check engine light has turned on and off. This issue matches the known defect related to the Denso fuel pump recall affecting many Toyota vehicles from similar model years. However, my VIN is not included in the recall. This is a serious safety concern because the engine can shut off unexpectedly while driving, which could lead to an accident. I believe this vehicle may have the same defective component as those included in the recall, even though it is not currently listed. The issue has been confirmed by an independent mechanic and the vehicle is available for inspection if needed.Read more

The condition involves the vehicle unexpectedly shutting down, rendering the acceleration pedal useless and causing the car to glide to a complete stop in traffic, creating a significant s

I am submitting a formal safety complaint regarding my 2021 Ford F-150 Lariat 5.0L V8, which is included in recall 25V455 (Ford campaign 25S75) involving low-pressure fuel pump failure that may cause engine stall while driving. Ford announced this recall in 2025, acknowledging a potential safety-related defect that can result in loss of propulsion. However, as of April 2026, no repair remedy has
... been made available for my vehicle. This extended delay leaves owners operating vehicles with a known safety defect and no practical means to correct it. An unexpected engine stall while driving creates a serious hazard, particularly in highway traffic, intersections, merging conditions, or when towing. Owners should not be left indefinitely without a repair after a manufacturer has identified a defect significant enough to warrant a federal recall. I respectfully request that NHTSA review the prolonged delay in remedy availability for recall 25V455 and require timely corrective action, clear owner communication, and appropriate interim measures where necessary. Please also review whether affected owners are receiving adequate notice regarding expected repair timing and risk mitigation steps while awaiting a permanent fix.Read more

SUPPLEMENTAL TO NHTSA COMPLAINT #11713668. This is a supplemental filing regarding the 2020 Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription, VIN [XXX] . The hybrid battery cell module failed in December 2025, disabling the vehicle's hybrid propulsion system, all-wheel drive, and electric-only mode. As of this filing, the vehicle has been without hybrid functionality for over four months. The replacement part remains u
... navailable. Since the original complaint, the owner initiated civil proceedings against Volvo Car USA LLC and Volvo Car North America LLC in the State Court of Gwinnett County, Georgia (Case No. [XXX]). Through that litigation, the following facts have been established as deemed admissions under Georgia law, which neither Defendant contested: 1.This vehicle is excluded from Recall 25V-179, yet experienced a catastrophic hybrid battery cell module failure. 2.Battery failures in 2019-2022 XC90 T8 vehicles are not exclusively caused by the "LG supplier process deviation" identified in Recall 25V-179. 3.Volvo is aware of battery failures in 2019-2022 XC90 T8 vehicles outside the Recall 25V-179 population. 4.Volvo possesses internal engineering data showing the battery defect affects vehicles outside the population reported to NHTSA in Recall 25V-179. 5.Volvo has not issued a recall for the specific failure mode affecting this vehicle. 6.Expanding Recall 25V-179 to cover the full 2019-2022 XC90 T8 population would cost Volvo tens of millions of dollars. These facts were established against both Volvo entities through separate sets of Requests for Admission that went unanswered within the statutory deadline. The owner requests that NHTSA evaluate whether Recall 25V-179 is adequate to protect the full population of affected vehicles. Supporting documentation, including copies of the deemed admissions and service records, is being submitted by mail to the Office of Defect Investigation. I am reporting a recurring safety concern involving sudden loss of power and engine stalling while driving. The vehicle wouldn't accelerate during normal driving condition and lost power. After the vehicle stalled, all the warning light came on. My husband retired to restarted the engine but the it made cranking noise. After couple of minutes it barely restarted and was able to drive about a mile
... and then it stalled again. Repeated 4 times to finally make it home. The vehicle has a prior recall history related to the fuel system. The Current symptoms are similar to fuel delivery or fuel system-related failure conditions. I called Honda Corporate to provide flat bed for the towing but they refused. My husband cleared the code (P0087)so the vehicle was free of warning lights so he can drive to the dealer next morning. We brought the vehicle to Honda dealership for diagnosis. However, the issue could not be reproduced during an inspection due to code (P0087) was cleared and couldn't reproduce the code which directly indicates Fuel Rail Pressure Low. Given the safety nature of this condition and the fact that it occurs while driving, I and requesting an investigation into whether this may be related to a known defect of incomplete resolution of prior recall -related repairs. This issue poses a potential safety risk due to unexpected loss of engine power during operation. The dealer of Joyce Honda has test driven and couldn't find the fault so they want me to pick up the car at my own expense and safety risk.Read more

I purchased the vehicle with approximately 56,000 miles. Within 2–3 weeks after purchase a “traction battery fault” warning appeared. I took it to a dealership, which said it was a battery module fault. They replaced defective battery cell under warranty (repair value ~$7,000–8,000). During the same initial period and continuing after the battery repair, the vehicle exhibited intermittent
... AC charging failures. It would begin Level 2 charging sessions and then terminate them prematurely. This includes both the Level 2 charger I installed new at my home upon purchasing the car, and commercial Level 2 chargers. The home charger would repeatedly show a fault that the vehicle was ending the sessions. Over the following months, the condition progressively worsened from intermittent to near-total loss of AC charging capability. The vehicle can still DC fast charge. Dealer diagnosed the failure as a defective BCCM requiring replacement at a cost of approximately $6,700. This is a known and documented issue: Jaguar has issued TSB SSM75883 (NHTSA Document MC-10227452-0001) addressing I-PACE vehicles unable to charge with BCCM fault code U3000-49, and TSB SFCC Jul20_11 (NHTSA Document MC-10178140-0001) for the 2020 I-PACE specifically. The vehicle cannot be charged at home or at any AC charging station, rendering it effectively inoperable for normal daily use.Read more

Vehicle has two open unrepaired recalls: T59 (NHTSA 17V-572, brake booster water shield) and V62 (NHTSA 19V-813, fuel pump relay). The dealer never followed up regarding the rental. Instead, the dealer contacted me to appraise my current vehicle and discuss new vehicle inventory. The recall work was never discussed. When I did not appear for the appointment, the dealer did not follow up or offer to reschedule. I then contacted Stellantis customer service directly and explained the situation, including the active brake booster symptom. The Stellantis representative connected me with a second dealership, Bill Snethkamp Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Woodward Avenue in Detroit, Michigan, then disconnected from the call without notice. I was left explaining the situation a second time to a dealership that informed me they do not provide loaner vehicles. The rental option requires me to pay out of pocket upfront and then seek reimbursement from the manufacturer in the form of a check. This is not a viable option. Additionally, this dealership is located approximately one hour from my residence in Flint, making it logistically impractical for recall service. The fuel tank pressurization systems on my 2024 Mazda CX-90 PHEV have failed, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection at Dolan Mazda in Reno. This defect puts the safety of myself and others at risk because the vehicle gurgles and sprays raw gasoline out of the filler neck during refueling, creating a severe fire and environmental hazard at public gas stations. The issue first appear
... ed on March 23, 2026, during a road trip from Reno to Las Vegas, with dashboard warnings stating Fuel Tank Malfunction, Avoid Refueling, Have the vehicle inspected and Engine Malfunction. The vehicle was inspected and supposedly repaired by Jerry Seiner Mazda on March 24, 2026, but the problem recurred during the return trip from Las Vegas to Reno on March 29, 2026, when it again spit fuel at the pump. The failures consistently occurred midway through long road trips at refueling stops in Tonopah, Beatty, and Hawthorne, Nevada. During these incidents, the vehicle was completely unable to accept fuel, causing significant distress as I was nearly stranded with young children in remote desert areas with limited resources. I barely managed to reach my destination on the remaining range. They stated that they would not be paid by the manufacturer unless all recalls were done together. This is not only unprofessional but also a disregard for the serious safety hazard posed by this fuel line defect, they prioritize dealership financial interests over customer safety and contradicts the purpose of a safety recall. After I purchased my 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport with 4 miles on it and at 1,332 miles on 11/26/21, the Check Engine light with Traction Control Off light came on while I was driving. I immediately pulled over and on the truck media screen it read this: "A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle or automatic transmission has been detected. ... your vehicle inspected." The truck was rough idling and had no acceleration. I had the truck towed to dealership where it was purchased and upon diagnostic, it was determined that #3-cylinder injector was reading "Open Circuit" with code P020313. Being under warranty the dealership repaired the bad injector. No further issues until 4/22/26. On 4/22/26 with mileage at 48,361, I started my truck in my driveway and immediately recognized that the truck was rough idling and the Check Engine Light along with the Traction Control Light Off being on. The exact same message displayed on the screen as above, "A malfunction in the electronic control of the engine, throttle or automatic transmission has been detected. Contact your Toyota dealer and have your vehicle inspected.". The truck was towed back to the same dealership and upon diagnostic the same issue of #3-cylinder injector "open circuit" with code P020313 was revealed. It was recommended to replace the bad #3-cylinder injector and also recommended to go ahead and replace all of the spark plugs. The total repair bill we be ~$2600 when I go to pick it up in 3 days. NHTSA Complaint Statement Subject: Stop‑Drive Recall – Vehicle Held Since March 5, 2026 – No Remedy, No Transportation, Buyback Delayed I am filing a complaint regarding a stop‑drive safety recall that has left me without access to my vehicle since March 5, 2026, and the manufacturer has not provided a timely remedy, transportation assistance, or a completed buyback. My vehicle has been at
... the dealership since March 5 due to a manufacturer-issued stop‑drive recall. The dealership has confirmed they cannot legally release the vehicle because of the stop‑drive order. The vehicle is not repairable at this time, and the manufacturer initiated a buyback process. However, the manufacturer has been extremely slow to communicate or complete the buyback. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, I have not received a clear timeline, and the process has stalled. I have also not been provided with a loaner vehicle or consistent rental reimbursement, even though the stop‑drive order prevents me from using my car. Because of the delay, I am now facing financial hardship, including a past‑due car loan on a vehicle I cannot legally drive and cannot retrieve. I am effectively without transportation and without a remedy. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance because the manufacturer has not met its obligations to provide a timely remedy or adequate support for a stop‑drive recall that has removed my vehicle from service for an extended period.Read more

As I began a drive cycle, I heard a pop sound and received the “check electric vehicle system” warning associated with ICCU failure. With ICCU failure, if I had continued to drive the 12V battery would have run to zero and the car would have died completely. Vehicle goes to dealer tomorrow for confirmation.
Incident date: Apr 22, 2026
I was driving on the highway when the car suddenly flashed a “check power supply” warning and then immediately shut down. I was traveling approximately 55 mph when the car came to a sudden stop and I was almost rear-ended as a consequence. I was not rear ended because I had a wide shoulder to immediately pull over onto, but if this had happened in a location without a shoulder, it likely would

I chose the engine and fuel questions as I believe these would be the issue. While driving on the I 10 east towards [XXX] there are areas on the freeway that you drive upward from a flat freeway service to (up hill). Today 04/22/2026, my bronco sport lost drive power from 65 mph to 45 mph which caused the warning lights of the engine and wrench notifications to come on. It was a little difficu
... lt and scary but I was able to get off the freeway safely and park. I looked under the hood and under the car for leaks but there were non found and after about 30 minuets, I got back on the freeway and went back home. Back in July of 2025, I believe their was a recall for the fuel injector system and I think this issue of today is based on that recall. I have not been able to confirm with Ford if this has anything to do with the 2025 recall and I have not seen any repair options. I have however, seen other's reporting the same issue. I don't know if you can doing anything but I wanted to provide my experience of today. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)Read more

I was on the on-ramp getting on the highway and whenever I started to increase speed and try to get over into the next lane, I noticed the car all of a sudden jumped a little bit and then it started consistently jumping in the check engine light was flashing, and I couldn’t keep the car over what ended up being 50 mph anytime I tried to go over 50 mph. The car jumped in was shaking pretty pretty
... aggressively I was able to finally make it to a gas station at the very next highway stop and after I shut the car off and turn it back on it seems like it was OK, but I’m still very scared to drive it. I then took it to the dealership to have them check for any store or pending codes because after we had stopped and turned the car back on it no longer had the check engine light on, and the dealership was not able to locate any stored codes in the system to see what it happened nor were they able to replicate the issue that we had found. Is a rec out on my vehicle, but no remedy is available and notices will not be sent for another month and a half at this point I am extremely uncomfortable driving my vehicle as I have young children and anything with a fire hazard is not safe.Read more

My 2024 Ford Bronco Sport has had an open unrepaired safety recall (Ford 25S76 / NHTSA 25V467) for about 10 months. The recall states that a fuel injector may crack and create an under-hood fire risk. There is still no repair remedy available. Ford and the dealership have stated that they are trying to develop a solution until June 2026. This effectively means I am being told to continue driving
... a vehicle with a known fire risk for an unknown extended period of time. For the past 10 months, I have been driving this vehicle in fear. I use it every day to take my children to school, transport my family, and handle family responsibilities. I cannot afford to purchase another vehicle because I invested most of my money into this one. The dealership has not provided me with a clear solution or completed any repair related to this recall. I have also faced nearly $4,000 in mechanical repair costs on a vehicle with about 59,000 miles. I no longer feel safe or confident owning this vehicle. I am concerned that a fire could happen while driving or while parked, putting my family and surrounding property at risk.Read more

Occasionally, the car's RPMs fluctuate wildly, and the engine stalls; the surges in RPM lead to sudden, abrupt acceleration, which poses a safety risk to me and my family. The dealership has been unable to resolve the problem.

I purchased this car new on December 31, 2024. I have owned it for less than 16 months, and in that time, we have had an issue occur at least 5 times where we get an alert on the screen that says, "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". Less than 20 seconds later, the car completely dies. On each of the 5 instances, we were lucky to be going relatively slow and were in a safe place with a shou
... lder to pull over on. The vehicle was able to be turned back on within a few minutes. The check engine light came on momentarily, but would shut off before we were able to get the codes read. We brought this to the attention of Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Danvers (not where we bought the car, but the closest Chrysler dealership for maintenance) and they were unable to provide any help. They said they have never seen this, and since they couldn't get any codes, they didn't know what was going on. My research informs me that this is a known issue, so I'm disappointed that they didn't know about this. I am also terrified to drive my young children in this car, in fear that this will happen again when we aren't able to safety stop. I will provide details for the most recent time that this occurred, but I haven't previously reported the other occurrences.Read more

My vehicle burns oil too quickly. I schedule my regular oil change based on the feedback from the auto repair shop. During my last oil change he said I practically had no oil left, but it has been less than 5,000 miles since my previous oil change. The tech informed me he's seen this happen a lot within Kia's including the optima that I currently drive. Fast forward a few months i noticed my oil l

They informed me my oil was very low even though, but I still have another 1,500 miles before my next due oil change. He looked around and confirmed there were no leaks or damage that would affect the consumption rate. He highly recommended me look to see if there were any recalls on my specific model of vehicle that would warrant both an explanation and reason for replacement. In the meantime he topped off my oil and i was all good to go.Read more
