Vehicle experienced sudden and complete loss of engine power while driving in active NYC traffic. Without any warning lights or prior symptoms, the engine shut off mid-motion, the accelerator became unresponsive, and the car stopped moving in the middle of a busy roadway. I lost all propulsion and had to activate hazard lights while stuck in live traffic. This created a severe safety hazard for m
... e and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle could not be safely moved, and no police or roadside support was able to reach me for over an hour. This incident placed me at high risk of being struck by oncoming traffic. This is the second major failure with this vehicle. On Day 2 of my lease, the car experienced multiple system malfunctions related to an open recall, causing the vehicle to fail on the highway. That recall repair did not prevent this new failure. After this most recent incident, AAA diagnostics showed the vehicle was not drivable, and the dealership later informed me that the failure involves a deeper fuel system/high-pressure pump issue. They stated there is no guarantee the vehicle will operate normally even after repair, yet on 12/10/25 they attempted to return the car to me and told me to continue driving it despite knowing the defect is safety-related. As of today, I have been without a safe vehicle for over 10 days, and neither the dealership nor Honda Corporate has provided a loaner or safe transportation. My initial safety case with Honda was also prematurely closed without my knowledge, and multiple attempts to escalate to a supervisor were unsuccessful or delayed. A vehicle that stalls without warning at speed is an extreme safety hazard, and this defect remains unresolved. I am reporting this because the vehicle has failed twice under dangerous conditions, and the manufacturer has not ensured that the vehicle is safe to operate.Read more

On 12/6/24, while driving at highway speed, my engine made a LOUD EXPLOSIVE SOUND followed by immediate power loss—life-threatening. Vehicle couldn't exceed 65 mph despite full throttle, engine wouldn't idle, became inoperable. Had to merge right and limp to dealership in traffic. THIRD catastrophic failure in recent months at only 11,700 miles. First (10/19/24, 11,174 miles): Multi-system error
... s, inoperable, 21 days out. Complete cylinder head replacement (Cylinder 2). Second (12/2/24): Identical errors two weeks later. Cylinder 4 misfire, fuel injector replaced, 3 days out. Different cylinder proves systemic defect—50% of engine affected. Third (12/6/24): Highway breakdown. "Repaired" in hours with spark plugs only—inadequate for explosive failure. Service advisor admitted "whole part might have potential issue" but Honda policy prohibits preventive replacement "until really broken"—knowingly allowing defective vehicles until catastrophic failure. Dealership attempted release without highway test; conducted only after I demanded it. No explosive sound explanation. Refused diagnostics, compression testing, internal inspection. First two failures had dashboard warnings at low speed. Third had ZERO immediate warning—normal to explosive failure instantly at highway speed (warnings appeared 2 hours later). Unpredictable and extremely dangerous. Explosive sound indicates severe internal damage—not just spark plugs. Evidence: 11,700 miles too young. Specific cylinders (2, 4) suggest manufacturing defect. Dealership admitted defect. Immediate recurrence after major repairs. Vehicle at Parkway Honda (1575 VFW Pkwy, West Roxbury, MA), available for inspection. Honda case #16033311/12. MA AG/BBB complaints filed. 24+ days out. My Check Engine Light came on today. I went to Advance Auto Parts and had them check the code (P0171). I took my vehicle to University Ford in Huntington and expressed concern that my fuel injector may cause a fire and I am not comfortable driving the car. They could not diagnose my car or loan me a safe vehicle. They sent me away in an unsafe vehicle. I am to bring the car back in the morning at

While driving in early 2025, my 2016 Chevrolet Spark EV suddenly lost all ability to accelerate. The vehicle remained powered on but would not respond to the accelerator, and I was unable to fully shut it off. This created a safety hazard because I could not properly control or secure the vehicle, and it required towing. I replaced the 12V battery at my own expense. The issue briefly disappeared,
... but the same failure occurred again within weeks. The replacement 12V battery also failed to hold a charge, indicating the problem was not related to the 12V system. I brought the vehicle to Harbor Chevrolet. Their technicians confirmed the problem was caused by a failure of the high-voltage battery system. They also informed me that the required EV battery is unavailable from the manufacturer with no estimated availability. Because this component is essential for basic propulsion and safety, the vehicle has been completely inoperable since early 2025. The vehicle is available for inspection, but it cannot be driven due to the propulsion failure. The defect has been reproduced and confirmed by the dealership. There were no warning lamps or early indicators prior to the sudden loss of propulsion. I am reporting this because sudden propulsion loss and inability to shut the vehicle down properly present significant safety concerns, especially if this issue affects additional Spark EV vehicles without an available manufacturer remedy.Read more

2017 Honda CRV only serviced at Honda dealers and ALL recommended maintenance performed including cleaning the fuel injectors at 50K! Engine was running rough and took it to dealer. So because I take good care of my car and pay more for Honda dealers to do the maintenance so my warrenty won't be voided I get screwed by Honda out of $2300!! NHTSA knows this is a true saftey issue. The recorded complaints are massive for this fuel issue. It is a software issue that should have been updated on all the 2017-2018 Honda CRV's to avoid premature replacement of the fuel injectors. Honda has all my vehicle records in their system but couldn't confirm the dealer did the required software updates which the TBS specifically says if the software update is not done it voids the warranty. NHTSA needs to make Honda make a recall and reimburse for all these fuel injectors and spark plugs. Honda also didn't have any loyalty for this being our 5th Honda. I have read this issue can cause a vehicle to stall if not fixed which is a safety issue.Read more

The fuel system on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctioned and caused a sudden loss of power while my teenage son was driving. There was no shoulder available in which he could navigate onto. He was unable to accelerate an
... d had to coast approximately one mile at low speed while many, many cars were driving around him during rush hour traffic , which created a dangerous situation with vehicles traveling at normal highway speeds. A Honda dealership has previously inspected and confirmed the problem. On 07/28/2025, the service center documented lean fuel condition, misfire codes (P0301, P0304), failed fuel-rail pressure, and injector-related faults. They recommended replacement of fuel-system components. The printed report and repair estimate are available for inspection upon request. Prior to the safety incident, the vehicle intermittently displayed symptoms such as hesitation during acceleration and irregular engine operation, but no permanent warning light stayed on. The failure has progressed over time and the same loss-of-power condition can recur at any time. This poses a risk because loss of propulsion in moving traffic can lead to a collision. The component issue has been confirmed by the Honda dealer, and documentation is attached. I am filing this report because the failure creates a safety hazard, has been reproduced by a local dealership, and has not been resolved. The repair show suggested I return to Honda for repair. Furthermore, during my research of this problem, I discovered tens of thousands of complaints from others experiencing this exact issue, including new low mileage vehicles. These complaints are available on all social media platforms and search engines, with each complaint indicating problems with the fuel injectors on engines using direct fuel injection.Read more

We got notified of the recall by mail in early 2024. We called the Honda dealership in our locality, First Texas Honda (3400 Steck Ave, Austin, TX 78757) about it and they said the parts weren't available yet, and was estimated to be ready by Fall 2024. Upon restarting the car, power was restored and the check engine light didn't illuminate again. There was slight shuddering in low gears. We made an appointment at the same First Texas Honda mentioned above to fix the problem, but after inspection they insisted that the problem was caused by loose battery cable unrelated to the fuel pump recall. Charged us $225 for the inspection and denied to replace the recalled part. Their predatory practice should be illegal and we are so disappointed in the system.Read more

The vehicle does not predictably respond to throttle inputs (if it responds at all), when you come off the brake pedal it will begin rolling at "idle" speed as normal but when you begin to increase throttle input NOTHING will happen for several very important seconds as you roll into an intersection or need the vehicle to accelerate to maneuver. This had happened multiple times before scheduling
... service appointments. The day BEFORE my appointment while trying to make a right hand turn from EB 13st St in Lemont IL to SB Bell Rd, i had stopped for the red light, verified clearance to make the turn, and began my maneuver. Once I came off the brake pedal the vehicle began to roll into the intersection but as I began to turn the vehicle and try to accelerate though the turn it did not respond WHATSOEVER. I desperately tried to roll my vehicle into the ditch to make space the incoming vehicles to minimize danger, but had no power to do so and was violently T-boned. The vehicle was brought to the dealer for their analysis, the service manager initially claimed "I know exactly what it is" and continued to ask questions that prompted previous knowledge of this issue including what speeds and conditions it will occur at.. two weeks later the vehicle is "ready" and the manager claims the "eprom" had 2 pages of codes in it and that "got rid of the hesitation" I take him for a test drive with me and was able to recreate the issue a few times at which point he said "i understand your frustration with the truck but its a GOOD TRUCK" I drove the truck a few days and continued to experience dangerous and unpredictable delays in throttle response, one of which almost caused me to be rear-ended by a semi while merging from IL-rt83 onto I-55 nb The vehicle has been left behind on a family road trip as it is not safe enough for my family. A certified mechanic later inspected the vehicle and confirmed severe internal engine damage, including metallic noises, blue smoke, oil leakage from worn piston rings, and complete compression loss. The mechanic concluded the vehicle requires deep engine repair or replacement. The safety hazard began with a pattern of ignored warnings by the authorized dealer network. On Aug 15, 2025, I brought the vehicle to Luther Kia of Bloomington for a Check Engine Light. The dealer simply cleared the code without diagnosis, failing to catch early signs of engine trouble. On Sept 22, 2025, the engine failed again. I drove the vehicle in unsafe "limp mode" to Luther Nissan Kia [XX
... X] ). They found the engine was "4 quarts low on oil" (severe starvation just 37 days after a dealer oil change). Despite this catastrophic finding, they failed to diagnose the root cause and released the unsafe vehicle to me after selling only a spark plug replacement. On Sept 26, when I attempted to pick up the vehicle, the Check Engine Light was flashing immediately at handover. I refused to take the unsafe vehicle.
