MB recall is since Feb 2026 and they neither ready to fix it not ready to provide a proper compensation . The vehicle is currently unusable for the following reasons: 1. Safety Catch-22 (Fire vs. Theft): Due to the fire hazard associated with the current battery recall, I cannot safely charge or store the vehicle in my garage. However, the local Township Police have explicitly advised against keep
... ing the car outside due to high theft risks in the area. Mercedes-Benz has essentially provided a vehicle that is neither safe to keep indoors nor secure to keep outdoors. 2. Home Charging Restrictions: I typically charge the vehicle at night; however, the current recall guidelines necessitate monitoring the charge to ensure it does not exceed 80%. I have no practical way to monitor this throughout the night, making home charging a safety liability. Public Infrastructure Failure: The EVgo charging network has blocked the Mercedes-Benz EQB model from their network due to these safety concerns. This further eliminates my ability to use the vehicle for standard commuting or travel. 3. Lack of Support and Loaner Access: Despite these documented safety risks, my local Mercedes-Benz dealer has refused to provide a loaner vehicle, stating they are awaiting specific instructions from corporate. This leaves me without a safe mode of transportation while I continue to pay for a vehicle I cannot use. 4. Financial Loss: I am currently paying monthly insurance premiums of approx $300, car payments of $529, and have recently invested in new tires for a vehicle (~$1200) that is sitting idle. I am incurring the full cost of ownership for a product that fails to meet basic safety and utility standards. I need NHTSA to help me here as MB is not able to honor its federal mandateRead more

Year/Make/Model: 2018 Kia Niro Hybrid Mileage at time of incident: approximately 69,000 Component: Hybrid Propulsion System / Powertrain My 2018 Kia Niro Hybrid has experienced five recurring "Hybrid System Failure — Turn Off Engine" errors occurring without warning while the vehicle was being operated. I am submitting this complaint regarding ongoing transmission and Transmission Control Module (TCM) issues with my 2014 Ford Focus. In October 2022, the transmission was replaced, yet I continue to experience serious transmission-related failures. Most recently, the vehicle would only start in neutral and would not reliably shift into drive or reverse. These recurring issues have made the vehicle
... unreliable and unsafe. I have contacted Ford Customer Service three separate times seeking assistance and a permanent resolution. Despite these efforts, I have not been provided with a fix that addresses the root cause of the problem. Ford has long been aware of widespread TCM issues affecting certain Ford Focus models, making the continued failure of this vehicle especially concerning. My greatest concern is safety. During a recent incident, the vehicle unexpectedly slammed into gear with significant force while my son and I were inside. The sudden engagement nearly caused me to lose control of the vehicle and almost sent us into a ditch. Had road conditions or traffic been different, the outcome could have been much worse. I have dash camera footage documenting the incident and am willing to provide it upon request. A vehicle that has already undergone a transmission replacement should not continue experiencing severe transmission-related failures, particularly failures that create a risk of loss of vehicle control. This ongoing issue places not only my family at risk but also other motorists sharing the road. I respectfully request a thorough investigation into the recurring transmission and TCM failures affecting my vehicle, including a review of the October 2022 transmission replacement and Ford's response to these repeated issues. I also request that Ford provide a permanent solution and appropriate assistance given the history of repairs and the known defects associated with this model. NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT SUPPORTING STATEMENT Vehicle: 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML350 I am submitting this complaint regarding a continuing safety concern involving water intrusion and electronic system damage in my 2013 Mercedes-Benz ML350. My vehicle was subject to a Mercedes-Benz recall involving water intrusion and related components. Despite recall-related repairs being performed, moisture
... and water intrusion concerns remain unresolved. During the diagnostic process, Mercedes-Benz personnel identified evidence of water and humidity in areas associated with vehicle electronics and control modules. The vehicle has experienced repeated mechanical and electronic issues following discovery of the water intrusion condition. Multiple repair facilities have been involved, and I have incurred significant diagnostic and repair expenses while attempting to determine the full extent of the damage. The primary concern is not ordinary wear and tear. The concern is that water intrusion has affected vehicle systems and that the recall remedy has not resulted in a complete resolution of the condition. I am concerned that moisture exposure may continue to impact vehicle electronics, control modules, sensors, and other safety-related systems. Mercedes-Benz USA has been notified and a case has been opened. The dealership has also been involved. However, despite escalation requests and requests for management review, I have not received a meaningful resolution. The dealership continues directing me back to Mercedes-Benz USA while Mercedes-Benz USA has not provided a final management response. I respectfully request that NHTSA review whether the recall remedy adequately addressed the water intrusion condition and whether additional investigation is warranted regarding continuing moisture intrusion, electronic system exposure, and potential safety risks associated with this condition. Supplemental Information to Existing NHTSA Complaint involving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid (VIN: [XXX] ) While traveling at approximately 70 MPH on a heavily traveled highway, the vehicle suddenly and completely lost propulsion without warning. The vehicle rapidly decelerated in traffic, creating a significant safety hazard for my family and surrounding motorists and requiring emergency
... maneuvering to reach the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Hyundai dealership, where diagnostic testing identified multiple high-voltage battery system fault codes: • P0B68 • P0B6D • P0B72 The dealership diagnosed a high-voltage battery system failure requiring battery replacement. The vehicle is currently non-drivable. During my research, I found multiple owner reports involving Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles experiencing loss of power, hybrid system failures, limp mode conditions, and propulsion-related incidents. I also learned that Hyundai previously issued Recall 18V166000 involving 2016–2018 Sonata Plug-in Hybrid vehicles due to battery management system and voltage protection device concerns that could result in loss of power while driving. Dealer says does appply for my car. Although my vehicle’s fault codes may differ from those addressed in the recall, both involve battery-related failures capable of affecting propulsion and creating a highway safety risk. My concern extends beyond my individual vehicle. A high-voltage battery or battery management system failure that can cause a complete loss of propulsion at highway speed without warning presents a potentially serious safety risk. I respectfully request that NHTSA evaluate whether similar incidents involving Hyundai Sonata Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles indicate a broader safety concern warranting further review. The vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 30–35 mph, creating a potentially hazardous situation in traffic. At the same time, the check engine light began blinking. The sudden loss
... of power significantly reduced my ability to maintain traffic speed and safely maneuver the vehicle. This condition could have increased the risk of a rear-end collision or other accident. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealership (Fred Beans Honda Of Abington PH# 215-392-9020) for diagnosis. The dealership confirmed that the vehicle stored Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1326, related to the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS). According to the dealership, the vehicle entered limp mode as a result of this fault. The abrupt reduction in vehicle power and speed occurred without sufficient warning and created a safety concern. I am reporting this incident so that NHTSA can investigate whether this condition represents a broader safety defect affecting Hyundai Sonata vehicles equipped with the KSDS system. Shortly after purchase of the vehicle on November 26, 2021, the vehicle began experiencing repeated DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), SCR, and DPF system failures, accompanied by dashboard warning indicators, drivability instability, reduced power warnings, and eventual shutdown conditions. The most serious safety concern is that when the DEF/emissions warning activates, the vehicle may enter reduced-p
... ower mode and ultimately become non-operable, creating a significant roadway safety hazard. The vehicle has repeatedly experienced conditions where it could lose power, become unreliable in traffic, or shut down unexpectedly after emissions-related warnings appeared. The vehicle required repeated repair attempts beginning almost immediately after delivery, including diagnostics and repairs involving: DEF system malfunction SCR/DPF restriction codes Reduced power warnings Fuel pressure-related faults Emissions-system failures Drivability instability Suspension-related concerns Despite multiple repair attempts by authorized facilities and warranty-related interventions, the same categories of failures continued to recur. This condition creates a serious safety concern because the vehicle can become unreliable or effectively inoperable while being driven, particularly after activation of emissions-related warning systems. The repeated loss-of-power and shutdown-related behavior creates risk during normal roadway operation. I am requesting review of the recurring emissions-system failure pattern, drivability instability, and operational shutdown behavior associated with this vehicle.Read more

Vehicle: 2015 Audi Q3 | Engine: 2.0L TFSI 4-Cylinder Turbo Component: Engine Complaint Description: While driving on the interstate at highway speed, the red oil pressure warning light illuminated suddenly and without prior warning. The standard low oil level warning light did NOT illuminate prior to the failure. Oil level was verified as correct and within specification at the time of failure.
... The vehicle suffered a complete and catastrophic engine failure due to oil starvation and rod knock, despite a verified proper oil level and oil pressure. The engine requires full replacement. This failure occurred at only 3,432 miles since the most recent oil change. The vehicle has a documented history dating back to 2021 of recurring engine oil consumption concerns, fuel contamination of engine oil, and high-pressure fuel pump failure — all serviced at authorized dealerships. A multipoint inspection performed approximately four months prior to this failure returned a fully satisfactory result with no engine concerns flagged. This is believed to be related to the known piston ring defect in Audi/Volkswagen 2.0L TFSI engines documented in federal class action litigation (Rieger v. Volkswagen Group of America, Case No. 1:21-cv-10546-NLH-EAP), which explicitly named the 2012–2017 Audi Q3 as an affected vehicle. The driver was then able to restart the vehicle and drive it, very cautiously and slowly, approximately two miles to a safe location. Once in a safe location, driver contacted the dealer who confirmed that the vehicle was unsafe to operate. The vehicle was towed to the dealership. On May 7, 2026, the dealer informed us that they had found “several different faults stored in the vehicle but those faults all basically contradict each other.” The dealer further informed us that they would need to contact Audi in Germany for guidance on how to proceed with diagnosis and repair. On May 22, 2026, the dealer informed us that "(w)e do need to drop the battery. There is a module in one of the battery cells that we are going to replace and also the module that controls the battery as well".Read more

The issue started with the engine stalling while I’m driving, and one day the car failed to start. I towed it to the dealership who said there is nothing wrong with the fuel pump and advised me to replace the battery. I replaced the battery and drove it for a couple more months, while the engine continued to stall from time to time and eventually failed to start again yesterday. It’s very appa
... rent that the issue is with the fuel pump, and there is a recall for the fuel pump for the 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020 models of the Lexus GX460, and my car is the 2017 model. I believe the recall should have been issued for all the models from 2015 to 2020.Read more

My 2021 Volvo XC60 experienced a fuel system failure at approximately 53,500 miles. Prior to the failure, the vehicle displayed multiple warning messages and entered reduced-power (limp mode), including the turtle symbol on the instrument cluster. The vehicle unexpectedly would not start despite multiple attempts. The failure occurred while I was at a physical therapy appointment approximately 25
... minutes from my home. After approximately 10 minutes, the vehicle started and was able to be driven. Because of the warning messages, limp mode, and failure-to-start condition, the vehicle was taken to a Volvo dealership for diagnosis. The Volvo dealership diagnosed the vehicle with ECM fault code P008A00 (Low Fuel Pressure). According to the repair invoice, testing confirmed that fuel pressure was intermittently low, and the dealership determined that the in-tank fuel pump was faulty. The fuel pump was replaced to correct the condition. This failure created a safety concern because the vehicle became unexpectedly inoperable and would not start when needed. Had the failure occurred in a remote location, during extreme weather conditions, at night, or in an emergency situation, it could have left the vehicle occupants stranded without reliable transportation. The inability to start the vehicle occurred without warning and could have resulted in a more serious safety risk under different circumstances. The issue was reproduced and confirmed by an authorized Volvo dealership, which inspected the vehicle, diagnosed the fault, and replaced the fuel pump. Repair records are available for inspection upon request. The failure occurred at approximately 53,500 miles, which is relatively low mileage for a major fuel system component. Because fuel pump failures can render a vehicle unexpectedly inoperable, I am submitting this complaint for review and investigation.Read more

A franchised dealership has actively undermined a federal safety mandate, creating an immediate vehicle fire hazard. On [XXX], I took my 2018 Honda CR-V to Bedard Bros Honda in Cheshire, MA, for NHTSA Safety Recall Campaign 23V-858 (Fuel Pump Module). During the service, the dealer identified a cracked fuel pump housing and attempted to charge me a $390 fee to replace it. When I declined this comm
... ercial upcharge on a safety recall, the technician reassembled the pressurized fuel system using the broken housing and released the vehicle to me. Prior to this appointment, the vehicle had no fuel leaks or odors. Immediately upon driving the vehicle home and parking it, the vehicle began actively leaking raw gasoline, filling the cabin with toxic, flammable vapors. The dealership’s decision to perform a federal safety recall inside a known broken component, and subsequently release a vehicle with a compromised fuel system to avoid completing a free repair, has created an active fire emergency. The dealer invoice explicitly documents the crack and their attempted charge. I am requesting a formal investigation into this dealership's handling of Campaign 23V-858. 2019 Ford Escape with a documented history of powertrain failures. White smoke on cold start and engine stalling began around 48,000 miles; the dealer noted this engine is known for coolant intrusion. At about 62,000 miles the engine short block was replaced under Ford Field Service Action 21N12 / TSB 22-2322. Smoke, shaking, and stalling continued, and the engine intermittently cuts out when shif
... ting into reverse and must be restarted. At about 87,000 miles the transmission failed and the full transmission assembly was replaced (work order Jan 2026, vehicle returned end of March 2026). The owner repeatedly told the Ford dealer the vehicle felt unsafe. On [XXX] the owner reported renewed exhaust smoke, an illuminated engine light, and a clicking sound at startup and asked to bring it in; instead of inspecting it, the dealer advised taking the vehicle straight to CarMax. About 9 days later, on [XXX], while driving in Los Angeles about 60 miles from home with young children aboard, the transmission would not stay in gear and the engine warning lights began blinking. The owner called the Ford dealership for guidance but no one could advise and the service desk would not answer. After consulting a mechanic, the family agreed it was unsafe to keep driving given the noises and pulled over in Anaheim, about 30 miles from home, at a mechanic shop to read the codes. A paid tow (~$600) was required. Loss of gear engagement and stalling in traffic with children aboard is a serious crash and stranding hazard. The scan returned codes P0012 and P0014 (camshaft timing, stored as permanent), P0300 (random/multiple misfire), and P0301, P0302, P0304 (cylinder misfires); the dash showed "Auto Start/Stop not ready - Stall Alert - Restart Engine." The defect has been reproduced and confirmed repeatedly by the Ford dealer, which performed the engine and transmission replacements. A repurchase request was denied. This is my son's vehicle, purchased by me in January 2025. He attends a college 110 miles from home in PA. As the warmer/hot weather came along in 2025, he was experiencing random scary situations of the car just going into "limp mode" while driving 70 - 75 mph on [XXX]. No warning indicators, no dash lights. No acceleration, couldn't maintain speed, bogged down to 15 mph until he pulled over and
... turned off the car. It scared him of course, but sadly this became his summertime travel ritual when traveling to and from college. Every trip in 87°< temperatures, a 2-3 time limp mode was in store. I realized in June of 2025 that this problem doesn't throw any DTCs when it happens and because sometimes he didn't wait long enough to clear the limp mode, I had him disconnecting the negative battery cable then reattaching it in order to clear the resident memory to get him going right away. I went a step further and installed gate switch on the negative battery post so he could just lift the hood, break the circuit with the gate arm and put it back down. I write this today because the car's 1st episodes for 2026 was on a similar mileage trip home, however it was only 82°. The CVT fluid has been changed, the level is correct and his driving habits appear to be in line with GPS ETAs vs. his actual arrival times. I went down the rabbit hole regarding the 2013 Kizashi TCM recall and I truly believe the defective TCMs they found have been around for some time before the 2013 Model year. He loves his car, but the car is putting him at risk as well as the driving public around him EVERY TIME THIS HAPPENS. 10th Gen Honda Accord has a major engine design flaw allowing coolant to pass through the gasket mixing with fuel in the cylinders causing premature head gasket repair which also puts the injectors under immense stress due to high compression. While driving my 2019 Honda accord to the dealership for inspection. All the lights started flashing on the dash. Highlighting - Critical failure detected
... please stop driving when safe. After a few mins the car’s infotainment system shut off no electrical activity and the car shut off mid drive. Luckily, it was in the morning and not during peak traffic congestion. Had I been going on the expressway I could’ve harmed myself, or someone else. This is highly unacceptable that a car with only 96k miles has a serious engine issue like this. I have maintained the oil changes at the required intervals, changed the fuel pump under recall, tires, brakes etc. After towing to the dealership. Diagnostics were performed and it was confirmed that the coolant was empty and radiator low. Which then prompted the dealer to perform a borescope test for the cylinders and it was found that cylinder 3 had a misfire and was leaking coolant into the cylinders causing premature wear on the gasket as well. The car is out of warranty and the service advisor said to me that they had another Honda just like mine with the same issue. This isn’t an isolated incident and many owners with the 10th gens have the same exact issue nationwide and Honda turns a blind eye and expects us to pay over 6,000 for the repair it’s a total scam! They are making money hand over fist without any recall and just scamming their customers. This is truly unacceptable and should be investigated immediately and Honda reprimanded!Read more

This is an urgent update to a safety complaint filed on May 28, 2026 regarding a 2020 Jaguar I-PACE (VIN: [XXX] ). Today, May 29, 2026, a Jaguar Corporate Executive Liaison officially issued a written denial of alternative safe transportation (Case #XXX). The manufacturer explicitly claimed in writing that the vehicle is "safe to drive" and that parking it outside is "entirely my decision," direct
... ly contradicting active NHTSA Campaign 26V067000 (H570) documentation. JLR federal filings state that the final physical remedy (H572) is still under development and that instructions to park outside away from structures remain actively in effect. The manufacturer is actively misrepresenting the safety metrics of an uncorrected high-voltage battery fire risk to consumers. Furthermore, because I reside at [XXX] —a high-density neighborhood heavily vulnerable to fire spread and directly adjacent to the active Palisades wildfire zone—complying with the "park outside away from structures" mandate while holding the car is a physical impossibility. JLR Corporate is actively denying necessary safety accommodations, exposing the consumer and public to severe fire liability. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel delivery system has failed. Specifically, the fuel lines are leaking at the connection point on the top of the fuel tank. The vehicle and the affected components are currently available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This defect poses a
... n immediate fire and life-safety hazard. Because the fuel leaks while the vehicle is powered on, any spark or heat source could ignite the fuel tank, leading to a vehicle fire or explosion. Additionally, the cabin environment has become toxic; the concentration of gasoline vapors is so high that it causes physical illness. One of my children vomited due to the fumes. The vehicle is currently undrivable because the vapors are intoxicating and hazardous to the health of all occupants. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the leak has been inspected, reproduced, and confirmed by an independent service center. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, law enforcement, or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages (such as a Check Engine Light) prior to or during the failure. The symptoms—specifically a strong odor of raw gasoline—first appeared four days ago. The intensity of the odor and the rate of the leak have increased significantly since the initial onset.Read more

VEHICLE INFORMATION: Year: 2013 Make: Land Rover Model: Range Rover Sport VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 97890 DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: I am unable to properly refuel my vehicle. The gas pump nozzle repeatedly clicks off during refueling due to pressure buildup in the fuel tank, making it extremely difficult to add fuel. My authorized Land Rover dealer has diagnosed a saturated evaporative (EVAP) canister a
... s the cause. Safety Recall N623 (Gasoline Fuel Tank Flange Assembly Cracking) was previously completed on my vehicle at Jaguar Main Line in Wayne, PA However, the refueling issue has persisted following that recall repair. The EVAP canister saturation is consistent with prolonged fuel vapor exposure caused by the cracked fuel tank flange that Recall N623 was designed to address. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this with both the dealership and Land Rover North America Customer Relations. I was assigned a case manager|Brittany Thomas|case number 8001492338 [XXX] who has not followed up despite my repeated contact attempts.
