Routine Friday morning and just finished charging my 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 at Walmart. As I started my vehicle to finish my commute to work, the dreaded "Check electric vehicle system" warning light came on along with a red battery icon. There were no warning signs or anything that could have foretold what would be happening. I pulled into an empty parking stall and called the Hyundai dealer for
... advice. I was told not to drive the vehicle and get it towed to the dealership. After being diagnosed, my car will need a new ICCU and ICCU fuse. The dealership gave me no ETA as it often takes weeks to months to receive the parts from Korea. I was told Fontana Hyundai had 9 other cars with the same ICCU issue in line before mine. I was so glad it occurred in a parking lot and not on the freeway since a malfunction with the ICCU will basically cause the car to loose total power and control. This is definitely a huge concern and safety issue.Read more

Pulling out of garage, car warned of limited speed and then within about 30 seconds completely shut down-- could not move, operate locks, etc. Car could not be started again and had to be towed away. 12v battery had been drained down to 4v due to failure of ICCU unit. Dealership replaced entire ICCU unit and fuse.

My Fuel pump recall was fixed on 06/17/2021 at 40543 Miles. On 12/8/22 at 56361 miles, my vehicle wouldn’t start and I got the battery replaced with the assumption that it was the battery. On 4/30/25 at 102,298 miles, I got my spark plugs replaced in hopes to resolve excessive cranking/ hard start issues I’ve been having since the recall. To my fault, I should’ve made a bigger complaint on t
... he hard start issues but didn’t think anything of it thinking it’s normal. On 12/30/2025, at 119,186 miles, I went in for a routine maintenance oil change, but replaced my battery based on recommendation also on hopes to resolve excessive cranking issues I’ve been having. On 1/3/2026, my vehicle wouldn’t start when I went out of town. Main reason I took it into service the week before was to make sure I don’t have any issues when I’m out at a foreign place and it did at a sketchy gas station putting my family in danger. On 1/7/2026, my vehicle wouldn’t start again. I took it in to Atlantic Coast Honda on 1/9/26 and they were able to replicate the issue but was told that they couldn’t do anything else. I complained to them that I didn’t feel comfortable driving my family around and also driving to far places for work but was told my vehicle has tested better since it was replicated when I brought it in. On 2/20/26, my vehicle wouldn’t start again. I brought it in on 2/21/26 for them to look at it again. I get a notice on 2/23/26 on the service recommended, and it’s to replace the fuel pump for $1398.71. I told them that I refuse to pay that amount when it was replaced based on a recall, and the part replaced is not even over 100,000 miles. Also the fact that I’ve had issues on starting the vehicle for a while and I’ve committed to replacing the battery twice, changing out the spark plugs in hopes to resolve my vehicle issues. This situation has put me in a bind putting me, my family, and other drivers in danger when I drive a vehicle that might stop working any time.Read more

The hybrid system in my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe repeatedly fails, causing the vehicle to lose propulsion, drop out of electric mode, hesitate, and shut off while driving. These failures have occurred in traffic and at highway speeds. The vehicle has experienced multiple safety‑related power‑loss events, including on JR Allen Parkway and I‑185, where the hybrid system failed to transition betw
... een electric and gas modes and the vehicle began losing power. Beginning in April 2025, the vehicle generated repeated Jeep Connect alerts stating “Electric charging failed for your vehicle.” These alerts occurred dozens of times over many months, indicating an early hybrid‑system malfunction. The issue is not related to home charging equipment, as the alerts come from the vehicle’s telematics system and the hybrid system later failed while driving. On February 5, 2026, the dealership’s Service Director informed us that the defect was identified, no fix exists, and the vehicle is unsafe to drive. FCA has not provided a remedy. The vehicle cannot be safely operated in electric mode due to hybrid‑system failure, and it cannot be safely operated in gas mode due to engine‑related safety concerns. The vehicle is unsafe in all modes of operation. This defect creates a serious risk of collision due to sudden loss of propulsion, inability to accelerate, and unexpected shutdowns while driving.Read more

The component that failed appears to be the hybrid propulsion and charging system, including the high-voltage battery management system and/or integrated charging electronics. The vehicle will not accept a charge from any home or public charging source. The high-voltage battery was replaced approximately one year ago; however, the charging failure persists. The vehicle is available for inspection
... upon request. In addition to the charging failure, the vehicle displayed drivetrain malfunction and start/stop malfunction warnings. While driving on the highway at normal speed, the vehicle lost power and stopped, creating a hazardous situation in active traffic. This sudden loss of propulsion placed my safety and the safety of other drivers at risk, as surrounding vehicles were traveling at highway speeds. Prior to the failure, warning messages appeared intermittently, including charging system faults and start/stop malfunction alerts. These warnings began approximately one year ago around the time the charging issue started. The vehicle was previously serviced and the high-voltage battery was replaced; however, the underlying issue was not corrected. The root cause is UNKNOWN, but the symptoms suggest a failure within the hybrid control system, charging module, DC-DC converter, or related electrical components. The failure has been persistent and unresolved. I am concerned that defects within the hybrid propulsion system may lead to additional sudden loss of power events.Read more

I am reporting a substantial safety defect regarding the high-voltage battery system in my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350. The vehicle suffers from a 50% loss of advertised range (real-world range of ~95 miles vs. 210 miles advertised) and severe DC fast-charging failures. My VIN is subject to NHTSA Recalls 25V050000 and 25V894 for high-voltage battery fire risk. Per the manufacturer's safety instruc
... tions, I have been told not to charge the vehicle above 80%, which further degrades the vehicle’s utility. Additionally, the vehicle is subject to Recall 25V487000 for sudden loss of drive power. Mercedes-Benz has failed to provide a permanent remedy that restores the vehicle's safe operating performance. The combination of fire risk, restricted charging capacity, and unpredictable power loss makes this vehicle unsafe for road use. The manufacturer has formally refused a repurchase despite these documented federal safety violations.Read more

The open recall repair (NHTSA 23V-858) has not been completed. Additionally, there is a separate open recall, NHTSA Recall Number 25E-071 (Manufacturer Recall MMZ), involving 18-inch Honda Genuine Accessory wheels with improperly installed lug seat inserts. Both recalls remain unresolved. Beginning in approximately 2024, the vehicle exhibited intermittent jerking and stalling during acceleration,
... along with loss of smooth power delivery. No warning lamps were illuminated prior to failure. The vehicle was inspected in July 2025 after Wilkes-Barre Honda declined to provide assistance, and it passed inspection at that time. In October 2025, the engine failed to start, and the vehicle became fully non-operational. The insurance carrier was notified in October 2025 that the vehicle had become inoperable. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, law enforcement, or the insurance company. It is currently available for inspection but is not safely drivable. Loss of power while driving presents a risk of collision. Multiple attempts were made to schedule an appointment with Wilkes-Barre Honda regarding the outstanding recall; however, no response was received. The manufacturer was also contacted on several occasions, but no meaningful assistance was provided. Despite repeated requests, the dealership has not conducted a formal inspection or confirmed the cause of the failure. The vehicle has remained inoperable for several months. Under these circumstances, asking me to arrange towing is not reasonable, as delays in addressing recalls have created additional practical barriers to accessing necessary transportation and resources. *Note: I've included a phone number for this complaint but do not have one. Additionally, lack of vehicle access due to unresolved recalls had already created practical barriers in obtaining one.Read more

Component: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING Summary: The turbocharger on my 2019 Audi Q5 failed prematurely. The initial check engine light and loss of performance began at approximately 48,000 miles, which is within Audi’s 4-year/50,000-mile powertrain warranty. The condition progressively worsened and the vehicle became difficult to drive safely in traffic due to reduced power and hesitation durin
... g acceleration. The turbocharger ultimately required complete replacement at 50,334 miles at a cost of $ 2511.20 This appears to be a premature failure of a major engine component. A sudden loss of power while merging or crossing intersections creates a safety concern. The vehicle has been properly maintained, is completely stock, and has never been modified. No warning was provided prior to the check engine light and rapid performance degradation. I am submitting this complaint because similar turbocharger wastegate failures have been documented in other Volkswagen/Audi vehicles using related engines, and a failure at this mileage should not occur in a properly maintained vehicle. Safety Risk: Reduced engine power and hesitation during acceleration creates a hazardous condition when merging into traffic or crossing intersections. I had just gotten a safety inspection 15 days prior to this event to renew my registration. The car had been driving perfectly. Me and my wife had drove to my daughter’s school to pick her up. The school is about 10 minutes away from our home. Once we left the school we got about 3 minutes down the road and started smelling a strong electrical/plastic burning smell. Suddenly the car stalled and
... shut off. Then it cranked back up. Then it shut off. It did that several times. Smoke started pouring out from under the hood. I was barely able to get the car off the road and into a parking lot before it completely died and stopped cranking and stalling. I immediately got my family out of the car and had them run to safety. There was several other family’s with their children who had also just been picked up all around us. So I ran to car and popped the hood. There was so much electrical smoke coming out from driver side area. It appeared to be coming from the hybrid high voltage system under the ECM. I quickly disconnected the negative terminal on the 12v battery to shut down the electrical systems on the car. I have called Infiniti and I am dropping car off tomorrow to have a full inspection done to find out what happened. I am reaching out to you because I know that there is documented reports of this exact thing happening to other cars and that there was a recall R21B4 that they did a software update for. I believe that that update did not work to prevent this catastrophic event from happening. I don’t know if they will try to act like this was not related to the recall so I am trying to cover all my bases here by filing this complaint with y’all as well. Own a 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid and have experienced the following issues over the past year and a half. Beginning after maybe 40,000 miles we pulled out onto a roadway and the engine immediately lost power and started flashing a glaring red warning that the hybrid system was failing and to pull over. We luckily were able to and turned the car off and waited. I tried to turn it on and
... it came back to life as if there was never an issue? We drove off. it left no warning code or did not update my Bluelink App. I took it to the dealership and they could not find any issues. Fast forward another 5 or 6 months and it happens again. Take it to the dealer and they keep it a week to go over it but still nothing. Within a week of getting it back it happens again and this time I am videoing it happening to me. Back to the dealer and provide the video because again the car did not log the event nor did it update my app. They hold it again for a week and try different things. They still cannot figure it out and I get it back.... it happens again.... This time the dealership was able to come up with an answer and that the oil level was too high. I got the car back and it seemed to work. Probably now 6 months go by and then this week I drive over to Jacksonville (5 hr drive) and visit. Again the car scares us on the highway and I have to pull over. Havea friend meet us with tools and we jack up the car and let out enough engine oil to insure we can read between the two marks on the dipstick. Vehicle and purchase details Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe VIN: 1C4RJXR6XRW251767 Purchase date: September 13, 2024 Selling/servicing dealer: AutoNation West Location: Golden, Colorado Key timeline 09/13/2024 – I purchased the vehicle new from AutoNation. By November 2025 – The vehicle had approximately 21,537 miles, still under 24,000 miles. October 2025 – The vehicle was service
... d for recall 56C and was out of service for several days. Early November 2025 – Jeep/stellantis announced recall 76C (and also 68C) affecting my VIN, involving significant safety concerns and instructions limiting how the vehicle can be used/charged. At that time, my vehicle had roughly 21,537 miles, well below 24,000 miles. As I understand it, no actual fix was available at that time. Late 2025 into early 2026 – I continued to use the vehicle subject to Stellantis’ restrictions and with the open safety recalls still impacting my ability to use the vehicle normally and its market value. Approximately three weeks before today (around early February 2026) – AutoNation took the vehicle into its shop to perform recall 68C work. The Jeep has now been in the shop for roughly three weeks with no firm completion date. Stellantis is paying for a rental, but it is not comparable to my Jeep. Current status and problems As of February 22, 2026, the Jeep has about 27,900 miles on it. My Jeep is unavailable to me and has been at the dealer for about three weeks; I have no clear estimate for completion or for a final resolution of the safety defects. The combination of unresolved safety recalls (including recall 76C, announced when the vehicle was still under 24,000 miles), limitations on use/charging, and extended time without the vehicle has substantially reduced both my ability to use the vehicle and its trade‑in value. AutoNation has declined to offer a fair trade‑in or a comparable loaner vehicle while repairs drag on.Read more

On i believe 1/14/26, my check engine light came on. Scheduled appt.for 1/16/26 for diagnostic. Several things were wrong. I decided to come back due to not having the money at the time. Over the wked, I remembered a recall notice i received around November that I asked about in November during my oil change & was told the parts aren't in & they'd give me a call. Upon viewing the recall it seemed

I called my service person Linda on 1/20/26, she spoke to her supervisor & they informed me some of the issues seem to stem from the recall. Linda gave me the manufacturer recall contact information. I contacted them on 1/20/26. She explained there was indeed a recall, there wasn't a remedy yet, it was safe to drive & if something changes, to call back. On 1/28/26 around 5:30am I left home for work & my car all of a sudden experienced a loss of power. It wouldn't go past 30mph. I returned back home & called out of work. I called the manufacturer recall & informed them. She made an appt. to take my car in the follow day, 1/29/26. I decided to drop it off that same day, 1/28/26. I had someone follow me being i could only go 30mph on a flat road & 10mph on a slight hill. I found out my service person Linda was no longer employeed there. I spoke with another employee. He said they would have to do another diagnostic. I left my car. I called the dealership on 1/29/26 for an update, they had not looked at my car. I called the manufacturer recall, they assigned a case manger to my case. Jay from the NCA, called me on 1/30/26 I believe. We've communicated several times without me receiving a adequate update. He's saying the issue seems to be steamed from the recall, there is now remedy yet, & they are still investigating. The vehicle is a rental vehicle. It experienced two incidents of sudden loss of propulsion within the first two days of operation. During both events, the vehicle became completely unresponsive to accelerator pedal input and would not move despite being placed in Drive. I attempted to shift the vehicle into Park and then back into Drive, but propulsion was not restored. No warning lights, malfunc

The vehicle became immobilized in an active traffic lane and would not respond to throttle input, creating an immediate risk of rear-end collision. Vehicles were approaching from behind and I narrowly avoided being struck. The second incident occurred later the same day in a parking lot while the vehicle was charging. Again, the vehicle became unresponsive without warning and would not move. The intermittent and unpredictable loss of motive power presents a serious safety hazard because it prevents the driver from maintaining control and safely operating the vehicle in traffic conditions.Read more

I was driving home in the rain for about 75 minutes and when I arrived in my driveway I saw steam coming from the front grille area. It wasn't due to a high engine coolant temperature so I decided to carefully open the hood and check for the source. I saw water inside the bottom of the engine bay behind the radiator steaming from the heat of the engine. A few seconds later, the engine stalled and
... the following message appeared: "Engine Stopped, Steering Power Low" which came on with a check engine light, red battery light, and steering light. I used my scan tool and obtained the code: P0171, System Too Lean. After doing research, I've come up with a conclusion to the potential cause. Starting with the 2022 model year RAV4 non-hybrid (and onwards to the 2025 model year RAV4), the air intake inlet was redesigned from the prior one in the 2019-2021 RAV4 non-hybrid models, as seen in numerous comparison images online. This new design presents a dangerous fault. When driving in rainy conditions, especially at higher speeds with mist kicked up from cars in front, the air intake will take in water. The water will flow to the air filter and then reach the Mass Air Flow sensor (MAF). The MAF sensor monitors the amount of air entering the engine and sends signals to the car's computer to help determine how much fuel to send to the engine to maintain an ideal ratio for optimal efficiency. Considering that water is getting to the MAF sensor, it thinks that the water is excess air, so less fuel is sent to the engine as a result. Since I came to a stop in my driveway, the engine is now at its idle speed and only commands a small amount of fuel to remain running. Now, when combined with the water, that lower fuel flow is practically cut off, leading to the stall. This happened to me before when driving in the rain, but in more dangerous conditions in stop-and-go traffic. Toyota must follow up on T-TT-0763-24 because it has been well over a year since their initial investigation.Read more

Incident date: Nov 11, 2025
I was going 35 MPH, normal operation speed and there was no extreme weather or road conditions. I slowed down to get into the center turn lane ended up coming to a complete stop due to on coming traffic. I was stopped for about 30 seconds to maybe a minute when I finally had enough clearance to make my turn. When I pressed the accelerator it began to accelerate but stalled out almost immediately.
... So I pressed and depressed the accelerator rapidly several times then it finally accelerated. When it did finally accelerate it accelerated much to quickly like it just took off. I’d like to say that this excessive acceleration was terrible but it saved my passenger from getting slammed by the now on coming traffic due to the lack of power. This is not the first time it has happened it does it allot when the weather gets warmer as well as when exiting the highway coming to a complete stop and then when trying to accelerate it stalls I’d say 25% of the time. I’ve taken it to multiple repair shops and they all say they can’t find the problem. I know their is a problem and I’ve read of this happening to many other owners so why is there no recall on it yet I’m surprised no one has been seriously injured or worse. In my opinion I feel like the manufacturer has complete disregard to the consumers safety. It’s unsettling.Read more

We get a power reduced code and the truck shuts down while driving. We have to pull over and put it in park and restart it. When we are on the freeway we can’t get over we put it in neutral and turn off the truck and restart it. It is very scary and dangerous! This has been happening since June of 2025.

I took my 2023 Chevy Tahoe in for all recall corrections promptly when the notices were received. My last recall was to run a check to see if my motor was one of the defective 6.2L engines. It was determined it was not and the dealer changed my oil to the new required 0w-40w. Now a month later as I am accelerating on to the freeway ,I am at 65 MPH I cross traffic to merge on to a connector bridge
... and my car RPM's go through the roof and the car starts to slowly lose power. Zero warning lights are on at this point just decreasing power. As I am on the bridge my engine light comes on with a engine oil hot idle engine notice I am now at 35 MPH. Then a oil pressure low turn vehicle off notice comes up and we are at 15 MPH the car turns off. The screen says press start again but as we do it wont do anything. It then randomly starts turning off and on. We got to a point on the bridge where we could coast to the connecting freeway below and pull over. My car was towed to the dealer where it has been confirmed it needs a new motor with no know ETA of the new motor.Read more
