I was traveling on the freeway at approximately 65 miles per hour. I slowed to approximately 50 miles per hour to pass a disabled vehicle and began accelerating again when the dash displayed a message that said "Stop Safely- Vehicle will Shut off soon" the check engine light, a red turtle light also lit up. I had to make a quick maneuver to the far right lane putting myself and other vehicles at
... risk to avoid the car shutting down in the middle of the freeway. I wanted to get closer to an exit so I continued driving slowly on the shoulder. The wouldn’t accelerate, so whatever speed I let it get down to was the fastest it would go. At the exit I was concerned I wouldn’t have enough power to make it up the hill so I shut off the car. I let it sit for a couple of minutes and then turned it back on. It turned on with the check engine light still on . I then drove it straight to the dealership using surface streets and keeping my speed around 40-45 miles per hour. This was the second time this vehicle has experience this kind of loss of power. The first time happened in July 2024 and resulted in a full transmission replacement. This incident constitutes a dangerous loss of motive power at highway speeds. The failure mode appears identical to the issues described in NHTSA Safety Recall 23V-010 (Chrysler Recall 03A), yet this vehicle has already had a full transmission replacement for this exact issue in the past.Read more

The vehicle experienced a safety-related issue involving the hybrid system, which may cause sudden loss of power while driving. This issue is associated with a manufacturer recall (Toyota campaign 25TB15). Due to the risk of power loss, the vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive. The vehicle was taken to a dealership for repair, where the issue was confirmed. However, no repair has been completed. T
... he vehicle has remained at the dealership for over 3 months without a confirmed repair timeline. This creates a significant safety concern, as loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds. The electrical system in my 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander has repeatedly malfunctioned since September 2023. The primary failure involves the dashboard completely shutting down while the vehicle is in motion, resulting in the loss of critical driving information such as speed and system warnings. The issue is intermittent but ongoing and may be available for inspection upon request. This failure creat
... es a serious safety risk because I am unable to see essential driving information while operating the vehicle, placing both myself and my family at risk. The vehicle has been taken to authorized Mitsubishi dealerships multiple times for these issues. Repairs have been performed during these visits; however, none have permanently resolved the problem. The issue temporarily stops after repairs but eventually returns and continues to recur. The problem has been reproduced multiple times. The vehicle has been inspected by authorized Mitsubishi service departments on multiple occasions, but the underlying issue has not been properly diagnosed or permanently repaired. Prior to failure, there have been repeated battery-related issues and sensor malfunctions. The vehicle has required at least three battery replacements since purchase. These symptoms often occur before the dashboard shuts down. In addition to the electrical issue, the vehicle has also experienced fuel pump concerns, which have persisted despite repair attempts. This ongoing and recurring defect makes the vehicle unsafe to operate and remains unresolved.Read more

On March 28, 2026, the check engine light illuminated on my 2017 Honda CR-V EX (VIN [XXX] ) at 59,057 miles. I pulled diagnostic trouble codes with a consumer OBD-II reader and recorded P0301, P0302, and P0303. On March 30, 2026, I contacted American Honda Customer Service to request goodwill repair assistance. I was told to obtain an authorized dealer diagnostic and resubmit. I did so. On March 3
... 1, 2026, I had Goudy Honda perform an authorized diagnostic (repair order #315466. Goudy confirmed the stored DTCs were P0300 (random misfire detected), P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire detected), and P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire detected). The dealer recommended replacement of all four fuel injectors at a quoted cost of $1,961.17 plus tax, and stated the injectors were out of factory, powertrain, and emission warranties. This DTC set (P0300–P0304 and P0172) is the exact set addressed by American Honda Motor Co.'s own Service Bulletin 18-124 and Service Bulletin 19-037. On April 10, 2026, Honda Corporate denied assistance on the ground that the vehicle is "out of warranty." On April 20, 2026, a Honda Corporate representative named Desiree called me to say that American Honda will not document in writing the reasoning for the denial and will send only a generic template. This matches the pattern of consumer complaints described in Bissell v. American Honda Motor Co which catalogs hundreds of similar ODI complaints and alleges that American Honda has known of, and concealed, a defect in its 1.5L i-VTEC turbocharged engine since at least 2016. Safety concern: misfire events at freeway speed produce sudden loss of power, limp-mode activation, and the risk of unexpected deceleration in traffic. The class complaint documents multiple incidents of sudden stalls and engine failures in comparable vehicles, including on highways. I am filing this complaint to ensure ODI has a record of this incident and to support any existing or future investigation of this engine. While operating the vehicle under normal driving conditions, the engine experienced a significant loss of power and reduced acceleration. The issue is believed to be related to turbocharger failure within the engine system. The loss of power created a safety concern, particularly when attempting to merge into traffic and maintain highway speeds. The vehicle did not respond as expected when accele
... ration was needed, which could increase the risk of an accident in certain driving situations. The problem has been confirmed by a dealership service department, and the vehicle is currently available for inspection. The diagnosis indicates that the turbochargers require replacement. Prior to the failure, there were limited warning signs. Any warning indicators were either minimal or appeared shortly before the issue became noticeable. The failure occurred at approximately 107,000 miles. Based on publicly available information, similar failures have been reported on this vehicle model, suggesting a possible pattern related to the turbocharger system.Read more

When operating the vehicle above the minimum temperature recommended by the manufacturer, the battery state of charge has dropped multiple tens of percentage points in moments while driving on the highway while driving the speed limit. The starting point for the state of charge in this situation was roughly 64% when beginning the trip. This has occurred at roughly 10 degrees Fahrenheit. The vehicl

This complaint concerns failure of the remedy for Safety Recall Z46 / NHTSA Campaign 22V406 involving the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) on a 3.0L diesel pickup. The HPFP had previously been replaced under the recall by an authorized dealer. About 19 months later, while the vehicle was at a dealership for service, the replacement HPFP failed again during dealer testing. The dealer documented meta
... l contamination throughout the fuel system caused by the HPFP failure. The dealer then replaced the contaminated fuel system components. After those repairs and during post-repair test driving, the vehicle developed new bottom-end engine noise. The dealer later documented connecting rod bearing damage / rod knock and recommended complete engine replacement. The vehicle had been brought in with no bottom-end engine noise, and the dealer’s intake inspection documented oil condition as OK. An independent oil analysis later showed the engine oil was normal and did not indicate long-term lubrication failure. This suggests the engine damage occurred acutely after the HPFP failure and resulting contamination event, not from routine wear. This condition creates a serious safety risk because HPFP failure can cause loss of fuel pressure, engine stall, or loss of motive power, and the subsequent engine damage raises the risk of sudden engine failure or seizure while driving. That could increase the risk of a crash, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. The failure was confirmed by the dealer and is documented in the repair order. The vehicle remains inoperable and is available for inspection upon request. I am requesting investigation into whether the recall remedy was adequate, since the recall replacement HPFP failed again and the resulting contamination appears to have led to catastrophic secondary engine damage.Read more

Subject: Safety Complaint – 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB (Active Recall) Reference: CMS Case #XXX Vehicle: 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB VIN: [XXX] I am filing a safety complaint regarding an active recall on my vehicle and the lack of a clear, safe resolution. The vehicle is currently under an active safety recall, and we have been advised it may not be safe to operate under certain conditions. At the s
... ame time, the dealership has informed us that the vehicle cannot be traded in due to the recall. This has left us in a position where: * We may not be able to safely drive the vehicle * We cannot trade or dispose of the vehicle * We have not been given clear guidance on safe use or storage Mercedes-Benz USA (CMS Case #21602523) has declined a repurchase and offered only partial goodwill compensation without providing a clear, actionable solution. We are concerned that consumers are being left with a vehicle that may be unsafe to operate and cannot be reasonably removed from service. We are requesting review and guidance on: 1. Whether the vehicle is safe to operate 2. Manufacturer responsibility in resolving recall-related limitations 3. Consumer protections in situations where a recalled vehicle cannot be used or traded This situation creates safety, liability, and consumer protection concerns, especially as we must leave the vehicle unattended while traveling internationally. The auto insurance company took the car and they said they inspected it but never gave me any answers, they simply paid off my loan and that was it. The fire department put out the fire, the car was burnt to a crisp, and the fire men were accusing my kid of smoking and starting the fire, so they did no investigation.Read more

Multiple times of driving the vehicle as I am trying to press the gas pedal while driving it acts like it is not working and suddenly it stutters and stalls. The car will shut off and put you into to neutral while you try and pull over to the side of the road without being hit. It happens randomly and without rhyme or reason. After it shuts off codes are thrown such as brake failure, emissions fai
... lure, hill assist failure, steering failure, and lane assist failure. The car will be really hard to restart and if eventually will and then everything will disappear and go back to normal. Codes leave and car drives fine until it messes up again. First time it happened was months ago from this report, and then it happened monthly, weekly and now almost daily but only when you try and drive. Very unsafe and there’s no reason cars should stall at high speeds going down interstates!Read more

The steel fuel tank shield and mounting cradle assembly on my Land Rover Range Rover (L405) is experiencing catastrophic structural failure due to excessive corrosion. This appears to be a result of galvanic corrosion between the steel cradle and the aluminum chassis components. The corrosion has caused the metal straps and support brackets to rot through completely, compromising the physical sec
... urity of the fuel tank. This poses an unreasonable safety risk, as the fuel tank is no longer properly supported and is at risk of detaching from the vehicle while in motion. Furthermore, the jagged, rusted edges of the failing shield are in direct contact with the fuel tank, creating a potential puncture hazard and subsequent fire risk. This is a known structural defect within the L405 community, often resulting in immediate vehicle grounding during safety inspections due to the risk of fuel system detachment.Read more
