My vehicle is currently in the shop at the local Kia dealership. Over the past week my vehicle has randomly stalled several times. The engine sounded like it was sputtering, and just not accelerating properly. The car would stall at low speeds while turning corners or pulling into a parking spot. I do not have the diagnosis as of yet but believe my vehicle should be considered one of the recalled
... engines due to its date manufactured and the current issues that are occurring. Noticed stalling at speeds 45mph or less. It's very frustrating with a vehicle having 82,000 miles on it. All mandatory maintenance has been done at correct intervals and now this. It needs to be reported.Read more

My car kept getting a light for its coolant levels despite me filling it with proper coolant-I noticed a leak of coolant on the ground & upon getting it inspected from an independent service center, they told me the issue was my radiator so we got the part to fix it and a week later fixed the radiator and I didn’t get the light for coolant again. Although the independent service center told me t
... hat i actually had a fuel leakage due to my pump and described the issues I’ve been having with my car for a few months as signs to what problems this is causing, this meaning a funky fuel smell, my car struggling to fully turn on-needing multiple tries to actually fully turn on etc. this puts my safety at risk because fuel leakage is extremely dangerous for multiple reasons. Not inspected by manufacturer police or insurance reps. Other than the coolant light issue and the noticed continued leak after the coolant leakage was fixed. After looking into this issue online I found a recall notice from VOLVO and called them and they claimed my car wasn’t on this recall notice but my year and model is indeed listed and since im having the same problem as the recall listed its concerning me.Read more

I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, which has experienced multiple hybrid system shutdowns while driving. This includes repeated complete power loss incident on I-90 beginning in June 2022, when my daughter was driving home after her hospital shift. The vehicle displayed a “Hybrid System Warning – Turn Off Engine” message and had to be pushed off
... the highway and towed. This was the first of several hybrid-related failures that culminated in a full engine replacement under warranty at 82,015 miles — and now, the same hybrid system warning has returned at 127,592 miles, well within Hyundai’s 150,000-mile hybrid warranty. Hyundai is currently denying coverage. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate repeated hybrid system faults and warranty denial patterns in Korean-manufactured Sonata Hybrids.Read more

I have had problems with a hitch or pause in the acceleration of my 2012 Jeep Compass since at least April of last year. I purchased the vehicle used in January 2021. In and of itself, the hitch would be a minor thing, but I think it's related to other problems I'm having with the vehicle losing acceleration, which has become a real point of concern. This has occurred multiple times when I start a
... ccelerating from a stop, such as when I'm at an intersection. The car loses acceleration, the traction control light sometimes will come on, the steering will tighten up like I've lost power steering, and the car will come to a halt and stop idling. Nothing happens when I give it gas after it's stopped in these circumstances. I learned that if I turn the car off and back on, that will serve as a sort of reset, and I regain power and can get back on the road. The car has had active codes for a catalytic converter and a crankshaft position sensor. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor in April of last year (with an OEM sensor) after losing power while merging onto an interstate. That seemed to resolve the loss of acceleration problem, but it recurred starting in December of last year. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor again recently, this time with an aftermarket sensor, as I thought the sensor I put in previously may have been defective, but the problem has started occurring more frequently. Losing power while turning into or crossing intersections is a scary thing, and I've begun to feel I cannot drive the car safely. I've read accounts online of many Jeep Compass owners having problems with losing acceleration, and I've begun to suspect that the problem is not simply related to the parts associated with the active codes. The sad thing is that I just finished paying off the loan I took out for this car, and I have little extra money. I don't know what I'm going to do. Please investigate these vehicles (problem affects various Compass model years).Read more

This vehicle has ~43k miles and in the shop 3 times. Once I had computer issues and was replaced, and twice now to replace the fuel pump. First instance, I was at a stop sign and tried to accelerate but the car wouldn't move. It was like it was in neutral but was in drive. I had to shut car down, restart and was able to get to the dealership. Second time, I left work driving ~73 mph on [XXX] i
... n Jacksonville Florida when out of nowhere I could feel the gas not taking. I then got a flashing message across my dashboard several times that said "Engine Stalled" . Imagine the fear in the middle of the highway and essentially having no gas power. Fortunately, since I was leaving at noon, it was not rush hour and fortunately this occurred right before an exit. I was able to remain calm and not panic and get over two lanes in time to pull off to an exit ramp all the while de-accelerating until I landed in the grass off the exit ramp. I cross [XXX] every day for work and cars losing power going 75 mph on [XXX] is terrifying and could easily lead to a wreck and in the most unfortunate incidents on that bridge; cars hit have gone over the side. Again, second time now they are supposedly replacing the fuel pump. How can two be bad? This is so dangerous for someone to be put in this situation. I have seen other posts on the Internet with fuel pump issues on the 2023 QX60 and similar circumstances. Car is in the shop now so don't have the receipt yet for the replacement. [XXX], the vehicle was delivered to Crain KIA dealership located in Conway, Arkansas, due to failure of engine to start (engine would turn over but not run). I scheduled a service appointment for May 20th at 0930, for the car to be evaluated/troubleshot. While at the KIA dealership service desk, I discussed KIA SAFETY RECALL SC336, and that my VIN# was effected by the recall (verified by speakin
... g with KIA Customer Care representative) and by using NHTSA's VIN/Recall search engine. At that time, I disclosed that the car was a SALVAGE TITLE vehicle, but was restored, looked nearly brand new and was otherwise operational prior to the engine "no start" condition (4 months of ownership). The service team at the dealership confirmed the SALVAGE TITLE via "Carfax", however they noted that KIA's internal VIN/TITLE database DID NOT REFLECT the car as salvaged. Crain Kia dealership then decided to submit the car for KIA's SAFETY RECALL inspection and possibly warranty work since the vehicle has not exceeded the 5yr/60,000 mile limited basic warranty. Unfortunately, the dealership did not open a "tech-line case' until approximately 15 days later. Tech-line communication between the service technician and KIA's engineering/recall rep, directed the dealership to perform an engine wet/dry compression test (due to deficient piston oil-rings). On June 5th, Crain KIA notified me that the resulting 'LOW" compression test results indicated that the piston rings were faulty, and that the engine would need to be replaced. Additionally, they told me that the vehicle would NOT BE ELIGIBLE for factory warranty due to the SALVAGE TITLE and that I would be responsible for engine change costs. Moreover, the dealership's service team charged me for the cost of the compression testing. I have thoroughly reviewed the KIA recall SC336 documentation as well as NHTSA's 25V-099 bulletin and verified that neither notices proclaim, exclude or deny coverage to salvage title vehicles. What happened? Starting in October 2020, my 2019 Jaguar F-Type experienced persistent electrical and fuel injector system failures affecting cylinders 1 and 5, resulting in multiple engine misfires and reduced engine performance. The vehicle’s fuel injector connectors, specifically connector C1E121A, had misaligned pins causing injector circuit faults (DTC codes P0262, P0274) and frequent misfi
... re codes (P0301, P0305, P0300). These defects caused the vehicle to run roughly and unpredictably, creating a safety risk by compromising engine power and potentially causing loss of control, especially during startup and acceleration. Warning lights and engine fault codes were present throughout the issue. Jaguar dealerships confirmed the problem multiple times through diagnostic testing and extensive inspections, including wiring tests, fuel system checks, and control module evaluations. Despite repeated repairs, including connector reseating and injector replacements during the powertrain warranty period, the defect was never permanently fixed. The vehicle was out of service for over 6 months from August 2021 to April 2022 due to attempts to resolve the problem. After the warranty expired, the same symptoms and fault codes recurred. The dealer diagnosed that the engine must be completely replaced due to persistent injector circuit failures, with an estimated repair cost of $33,000. This ongoing defect severely affects the vehicle’s reliability and safety. The problem and its cause have been confirmed by multiple authorized dealers and Jaguar North America.Read more

Two dealerships have said I'm having the same issue as previously, except my car is not displaying the inhabitation error. Current safety concern: The vehicle’s range indicator fluctuates drastically under load (e.g., 190 → 70 → 140 miles) whenever the accelerator is pressed, suggesting instability or failure in the high-voltage battery. Because remaining range is no longer reliable, I have stopped using the vehicle for daily transportation to avoid being stranded—especially on highways where there is no safe place to pull over or access to chargers. On June 3, 2025, I experienced a terrifying and dangerous incident while driving my 2023 Hyundai Tucson Hybrid on a three-lane road at approximately 50 mph. Without any warning, the gas pedal became completely unresponsive, and the car abruptly decelerated from 50 to 20 mph. This sudden loss of acceleration was incredibly frightening, especially with vehicles close behind me that nearly collided w
... ith mine. There were no warning lights or check engine alerts. Fortunately, I was able to safely cross all lanes and pull over before having the vehicle towed to a local Hyundai dealership. I shudder to think what might have happened if this had occurred on a highway at higher speeds. This is not the first time I’ve experienced serious issues with this vehicle. In February 2024, at about 17,000 miles, I received an urgent alert recommending a system check. At that time, the car was revving while idle and would occasionally lurch at low speeds. The dealership had difficulty diagnosing and resolving the issue, and my vehicle remained in the shop for over a month before they ultimately replaced the oxygen sensor. Since then, the car has continued to lurch intermittently — for example, when backing out of a parking space or in stop-and-go traffic. In fact, approximately 10 minutes before the June 3 incident, the vehicle lurched several times while moving slowly in traffic. When the car began to lose speed during the most recent incident, I pressed the gas pedal all the way down, but it failed to respond at all. I believe the current issue may be related to the unresolved problems from last year and represents a significant and recurring safety concern. I’ve also read in Tucson owner forums that other drivers have experienced similar issues, suggesting this may be part of a broader, systemic defect. At this point, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. I truly believe this car is a lemon. This vehicle is still at the dealership, but they have not given me any updates yet.Read more

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a prolonged and troubling service experience at Jaguar Land Rover Buckhead, related to my 2018 Range Rover Sport (approximately 49,000 miles), and to express dissatisfaction with the handling of a prior related incident. My vehicle has been the dealership approx. 2 weeks with no loaner and me missing days from work and not able to transport my ch

I later learned this exact issue had been subject to a recall on the Discovery model — but not on mine — despite identical symptoms. As a result, I was issued a $675 Owner Loyalty Certificate (OLC) by Molly B. of Land Rover USA, which I appreciated, but which I believe did not fully compensate for the risk and inconvenience caused. Recently, I returned to the another dealer, Jaguar Land Rover Buckhead, in May 2025 for a new issue. I was told there was a broken exhaust bolt that delayed repairs. I specifically asked the service advisor if I was responsible for the bolt breaking during service and was told I was not, though it was framed as a “common issue” across many vehicles. I respectfully disagreed, noting I’ve owned multiple vehicles with higher mileage and never encountered such a failure. I also suggested that if this is so common, it may reflect a design flaw that Land Rover should address. Additionally, I was misled by the service advisor, Cole Eidson, who sent me a message on Tuesday, May 28th, stating the bolt was already removed and the exhaust installation was underway. I later discovered this was not true, and that the bolt had not yet been extracted at the time of that message. This misrepresentation caused unnecessary confusion, delay, and loss of trust. I am filing a complaint regarding repeated and dangerous safety failures with my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 4xe, which I purchased as a brand-new vehicle on February 22, 2025. The most critical issue is that the vehicle has shut off on two separate occasions—once while in motion driving up a hill and once during a suspension height adjustment while stopped. In both cases, the engine power
... ed down unexpectedly, a red wrench and lightning bolt warning appeared, and the vehicle shifted into park on its own. I was unable to restart the vehicle immediately, creating a severe hazard. These shutdowns were preceded or followed by system warnings including “Electric Mode Unavailable – Service Required,” “Active Driving Assist Unavailable,” “Night Vision Unavailable,” “Traffic Sign Assist Unavailable,” and “Tire Pressure Monitoring Unavailable.” These alerts began appearing within weeks of purchase and have persisted intermittently, sometimes alongside performance issues such as sudden jolts at highway speed. The CDJR dealership in Northern California and various manufacturer (Jeep/Stellantis) technical advisors have inspected the vehicle multiple times. A software defect has been identified and confirmed by Jeep, but no fix is available. A Technical Service Bulletin 08-003-25 dated January 8, 2025—before I purchased the vehicle—acknowledges this issue. Despite this, the vehicle was sold to me, and I was sent home with it multiple times even after reporting these failures. The dealership and manufacturer technical advisors now consider the vehicle unsafe to operate and will not return it until a software update is released. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection upon request. Supporting documentation including service records, warning light photos, and communications with Jeep Customer Care and the dealership, can be provided. I urge the agency to investigate this matter due to the confirmed safety risk and lack of timely resolution.Read more

Without warning the car started misfiring while I was driving around town. It continued and became worse. I was in Wisconsin on vacation with the closest Hyundai dealer over an hour away. Mileage was 62416 and I had the tires replaced two weeks prior to leaving and while there I explained I would be driving from Virginia to Wisconsin and asked they let me know if the vehicle needed any service
... . I took it to a local shop to see if it was something easily repaired and was told it was probably a fuel injector and I should take it to the dealership as it may be under warranty. So I had to have it towed and rent a car. According to the dealership the warranty for the fuel injectors ended at 60000 miles.Read more

While driving my 2017 Honda Accord, I suddenly lost the ability to accelerate when pressing the gas pedal entering the freeway. At the same time, the check engine light flashed along with multiple other warning lights, which caused the car to go into limp mode. This put my safety at risk, as I was unable to speed up in traffic, creating a dangerous situation. Same situation occurred the next day -
... narrowly avoiding the accident. The car is not safe to drive. Honda dealership determined issue was due to a fuel injector failure, on a very well-maintained vehicle it seems strange for this issue to come up. I believe this issue is directly related to the faulty fuel pump which is being recalled for many 2017-2018 ACCORDs as the defective fuel pump caused excessive strain on the fuel injectors over time, it could explain why so many owners, including myself, are experiencing premature failures. Given the safety risks involved and the growing number of similar reports, I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue and hold Honda accountable for addressing the problem and cover the cost of the injection repairsRead more

I have had to replace the vapor canister on 2 dodge chargers I have owned seems to be a common issue. Check engine light came on both instances one causing issues with inspection the other with emissions test and I had to replace the vapor canister on both in order to fix my issues delayed the process in getting my vehicle registered by the state. Seems there was a previous recall on the issue but

The vehicle was purchased for the express purpose of towing a 6,600 lbs Travel Trailer. This truck is equipt with the 3 liter Diesel engine. While towing the truck computer counts down milage available based on Def level. The count down is not mile for mile it is an exponential count down. This factor triggers a series of warnings concerning vehicle operation and impending speed restrictions.
... 1000 mile DEF range warning is first up. Followed shortly there after with a 300 mile DEF range warning (700 miles had never been reached to trigger the warning). The next warning is "DEF Low (red warning) speed restricted soon". Shortly there after a 500 mile count down starts for the first impending speed reduction to 65 MPH max. This is followed by other speed restrictions that will put the vehicle eventually into a 5 MPH speed restricted mode. When adding DEF to the tank the level has never been below 60% full. Its not empty as the gauge and computer indicate. With each filling of the DEF tank the range you can drive is less and less until the truck is driven without the trailer hooked up. GM has a service bulletin for this situation that has been in place since September 23, 2024 and no permanent repair of solution has been prescribed. During the 500 mile count down to the first speed restriction the instrument cluster is locked out to only display "DEF Empty" and alternately the DEF range counting down. No other safety features are visible such as engine temp or transmission temp important to know while towing. I Purchased this vehicle March 17, 2025 stating my intentions to tow a travel trailer. The dealership no GMC ever made me aware of the Service bulletin of the DEF restrictions. Had they done so I would have purchased a different vehicle with out the associated travel issues. Please reference GM Service Bulletin #24-NA-196 Document ID 6736285. This document was given to me after my 4 visit to a GMC dealership to have the issue addressed.Read more

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on my 2022 Ram 2500 failed, causing multiple system malfunctions. It triggered inaccurate Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) codes and showed abnormally high idle hours that do not reflect actual vehicle use. This defect is tied to a known issue identified by Stellantis in Technical Service Bulletin #18-002-24, which acknowledges improper MAF sensor calibration or compa
... tibility on vehicles like mine. The bulletin was verbally confirmed by the dealership as applying to my truck. This faulty sensor caused emissions system errors, degraded engine performance, and may impact emissions compliance. There was a persistent check engine light, reduced fuel economy, and the risk of engine derating. The problem was reproduced and confirmed by Encore Chrysler (Mobile, AL), an authorized Ram dealership. Stellantis has agreed to cover the repair under Goodwill, but the issue appears systemic. Safety was potentially compromised by inaccurate sensor data that may cause sudden engine derate or failure during operation. Additionally, the incorrect idle hour readings could affect warranty determinations and long-term diagnostics if not corrected. The check engine light first appeared on May 21, 2024. The vehicle has been out of service since May 22, 2024, and repairs are still pending. The MAF sensor and affected systems are available for inspection upon request. This issue may affect a broader set of Ram 2500 trucks, and given the manufacturer’s internal bulletin, it may merit a recall review.Read more
