Toyota advertises the vehicle MPG is between 19-22. I am only getting 12 mpg. My low gas fuel light comes on at 10 miles to empty. Engine makes a horrible noise after the vehicle has been driven for 10 to 20 minutes. It sounds like a rattling/old clunker vehicle sound. It sounds like the transmission or engine is going to blow up. Vehicle wobbles when driven over 75 miles per hour. It feels like
... it is swaying in the rear. I have reported these issues to Toyota on 5 occasions. The first 2 attempts, Toyota told me, could not duplicate/no recommendations at this time. A TSB was issued to fix the rattling sound, took the vehicle in a 3rd time and was told it fixed the rattling. It did not, took the vehicle in a fourth time and was told no recommendations at this time. Took it to another Toyota dealership, and they told me no recommendations at this time. I have had 3 certified mechanics not from Toyota listen to the sound and they have advised me that it is not normal. The mechanics said in order to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, the engine needs to be removed and inspected. But they believe it is an issue with the engine/transmission.Read more

Catastrophic engine failure, engine died and was unable to shift into gear My 16 year old daughter was driving on a busy highway when the engine died, causing her to stop completely on a 55 MPH road. I purchased the Tiguan just shy of 2 years ago. Since 12/17/24 I have spent over $2,000.00 in that short of time because one incident the oil leaked out in a matter of a day. The second incident, while traveling from St. Louis to Tulsa, the oil light came on every 80 miles because the oil had spewed out. I had to replace the oil about 5 times that day. The third incident came 1,500 miles later

While driving to Sam’s Club (approximately 20 miles from home), my 2018 Ford F-150 3.5L EcoBoost began running very rough, and the check engine light came on. I had the vehicle scanned, and diagnostics confirmed that the cam phasers are failing — the exact issue I had replaced under warranty at approximately 59,000 miles. The vehicle now has just 88,000 miles, and this failure occurred in unde
... r 30,000 miles since the original repair. I have maintained this truck with extreme care. I only use Motorcraft parts and fluids, change the oil every 3,000 miles or sooner, and always use premium fuel. This is not a maintenance issue. This is a design or part failure that Ford has not properly resolved. When the phasers were replaced the first time, I was told there was no warranty on the replacement parts. That is unacceptable. A known failure being replaced with an equally defective part is not a resolution. Ford is aware of this issue — there are multiple TSBs (including TSB 21-2130 and 19-2208) and widespread complaints across owner forums — but they have taken no responsibility. I paid over $44,000 for this truck and should not be facing the same critical engine failure twice before 90k miles. The rough performance and sudden malfunction while driving posed a potential safety risk. I am submitting this complaint so NHTSA can investigate and hold Ford accountable. This seems like a common problem with this engine, and I do not understand why there has not been a recall or why Ford has not been forced to implement a permanent fix.Read more

On November 16, 2023, I was driving the vehicle in the far left lane of the freeway when, without any warning, the vehicle lost propulsion and would not accelerate. It also lost power assisted steering AND power assisted braking. I had to decelerate with no power brakes while attempting to safely cross 3-4 lanes to the nearest freeway exit with no power steering, while maintaining enough momentum
... to not get stuck in the middle of the freeway. After it lost propulsion, the several warnings flashed on the screen noting that the vehicle stabilization system was disabled, "vehicle may roll", the tire pressure monitoring was disabled, and the restraint system monitoring was disabled. I managed to steer the vehicle safely to the bottom off the offramp but had to bring the vehicle to a full stop. As a result, I was stuck blocking traffic at the bottom of the offramp. I attached a few photos showing what was happening but have additional video documenting the loss of power steering and power brakes but they are too large to attach here. The screen stated the roadside assistance feature was unavailable so I used the emergency button on the interior roof, which connected me to BMW's call center. The representative requested that the fire department assist with moving my vehicle out of traffic. We had to towed to the dealership (see attached invoice). We were told it only needed a software update which was then done. We still kept getting the same high voltage warnings, leading to 3-4 additional repair invoices. Finally BMW offered another software update in May 2025. We still receive high voltage warnings, drivetrain warnings, and chassis warnings and are afraid it will shut down again on the freeway. Software updates seem to be a bandaid. The loss of power braking and steering while doing 70 mph was a terrifying experience that could easily lead to serious injury and death.Read more

02/15/2025 I received a letter for oil consumption recall that was dated on 02/03/2023. Appointment was made same day I received the letter on 02/15/2023 and appointment couldnt be set sooner then 02/23/2023 which is the date the Oil consumption was done at Volvo of Bellevue. They changed the oil and sealed it and had me drive it 1000 miles, they said I didn't have an oil consumption problem and I
... disagreed because I told them I have to put in oil all the time. They said it has exceeded the 8yr or 100K miles of the extended warranty of the vehicle which ever comes first. I argued it had less then 100K miles when I got the letter on 02/15/2023 and the appointment couldnt be set til 02/23/2025 and Volvo of Bellevue said not to worry about it and they would take care of the recall. But after they had me pay for the oil change they said it exceeded the 100K miles and 8 yrs age of the vehicle. I argued the letter was sent to me after the vehicle was 8 years old and the avg miles of 12K was over 100K miles and I argued this was a known problem with Volvo but they kept on selling these vehicles knowing these vehicles have oil consumption problems. They refused to fix the car unless I paid them Thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars. I trusted what they told me that there was no oil consumption and in less then 7K miles later my engine smoked from their oil change and there was no oil in the vehicle as the engine had consumed all the oil and my car sat in my driveway for 22 months and I replaced many parts and still car wouldn't run. I took it back to Bellevue Volvo on 07/23/2025 to see what was wrong with the vehicle and they said the pistons were bent.Read more

My car has had issues where the car will either not start, or the car will stall and turn off while I am driving on the road, causing my car to become a hazard for myself in the car, and other cars who have to avoid it being in the middle of the road. This first happened to me 2 years ago and I took it to a mechanic who could not identify the issue because they could not replicate it while it was
... in the shop. I then took it to the nearest Lexus dealership and after a few days they identified the problem as a malfunctioning High Pressure Fuel Sensor and replaced that part, which I paid for out of pocket. The issue happened again 2 months later and the Lexus dealership replaced this part again. That was 2 years ago, the warranty on that replacement ended after 1 year, and my car had the same issue again where it literally stopped and turned off while driving on the road with no warning whatsoever. No light or indicator came on until the car engine turned off and then the entire dashboard lit up. My car is currently at another Lexus dealership and they are attempting to identify the issue once again. I see that there was a Fuel Pump recall put out for other Toyota / Lexus vehicles for this exact issue, but my specific Model / VIN are not a part of this list. The descriptions and reasoning for the recall describe my exact situation, I would like to see if there is a way I am able to add my Model / VIN to this list to protect myself and others. I do not feel safe driving my vehicle as it can turn off on me at any moment on the road.Read more

It first started when the engine needed to be replaced, I spent thousands trying to get it repaired, soon after they fixed the engine everything started going wrong ( I truly think they put in a faulty or wrong engine @ Hyundai) the car was overheating, I would take it in they would say it’s one thing pay thousands and it wasn’t it, changed the coolant that goes into the cabin, there’s alway
... s been a chemical smell since…still overheats, they said maybe it’s the thermostat, spent more money still didn’t fix it, the battery now won’t stay charged(trunk battery) not sure if they hooked it up wrong…the seatbelt hasn’t worked in years, I take it in they say it’s fine, it never clicks, I have to click it in to the passenger seat for safety. They always say it’s fine! I will never ever buy another Hyundai in life due to all of the issues I’ve experienced with mainly Hyundai dealership service mechanics and dealerships, I’m now dealing with a faulty car that could still be a great car if they didn’t mess it up, I thought I was doing right by always only taking my car to Hyundai and goodness I was wrong! There are no “recalls” currently on my car but honestly, did they even do the recalls correctly?! I disagree! They have literally lied, drained my wallet and disappointed me all while making my car worse, it’s like dr’s take these meds that might fix the issue but it’s going to mess up something else, it’s a guessing game all while killing you or in this case my car!!! I don’t know dates, all I know is Hyundai has all the records! Oh and the last straw was them driving my car without my permission mint you, they took it to a totally different shop without my knowledge & had someone else repair the frame which I was unaware of & drive it with ZERO oil in my car which now my car has been sitting for the most part since they repaired my car(or lack there of) because they broke my car! yes I turned it in when it happened, I just never heard anything from anyone now I’m carlessRead more

I am writing because we received a 2nd recall letter about our 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2. He served in Iraq and Afghanistan. [XXX]. He has to maintain a strict schedule, every thing done at the same time every day. Meals, showers, chores, bedtime etc. It calms him. I didn’t want him to buy a Chevy truck, but he fell instantly in love with it. He added a bed cover, 3in lift kit, tinted windows, 20in wheels and tires. A chip that opens up the horsepower and a cold air intake. He bought the truck new in July 2023, from Pioneer Chevy in Abingdon VA. So we are moving right along until 17 miles from Morganton Nc when the truck just stopped. We were on the back mountain road so no one was behind us. My husband was able to get the truck in neutral and roll it to a place where we could get off the road. We waited about 2 hours for a tow to Everett Chevrolet. We were sitting in our car at a Hardees drive through when we noticed smoke coming out from under the hood. I pulled forward to a parking space and opened the hood. Flames shot up at least 6 feet. I quickly ran a short distance into the fast food place and right near the door was a fire extinguisher, which i grabbed and put the fire out with. The fire burned for about a total of 2-3 minutes, and d
... id not do excessive damage. Coil packs and wiring harness got most of the damage. With the hood closed, you cannot even tell there was a fire. I had the car towed to Grayson Hyundai for the recall part, but then entered a claim to Hyundai. Long story short, they stalled me for over a month and then denied the claim. Citing no damage to the cam. Unlike most of the fires with this carline, my car fire was put out very quickly. The recalled fuel line/tube was not damaged much at all. You could inspect the part and see the wear on it and tell it was the culprit. It didn't take a trained mechanic to see this. After i put the fire out and it cooled, i tried starting it, and there was fuel squirting out from the recalled part. There is absolutely no doubt that the recalled part was the cause of the fire. But Hyundai has given me a denial letter that does not state the reason for denial. The Hyundai rep on the phone told me it had to do with no damage to the cam. I then asked, Thats because i got the fire out so fast right? and he said no, didn't have anything to do with it. But he lied. First of all, the cam has nothing to do with the cause of the fire. a damaged cam only happens when the fire was long lasting and severe. They should have inspected the obvious recalled part right in front of them. This denial is completely unprofessional and hints of a concerted effort to categorically deny claims. They don't usually have this much evidence, they did this time and still blew it. had i let it burn to the ground,=approvedRead more

Research shows me this is a KNOWN issue with GM and the problem is with the BECM control module. There is also the issue of the EGR valve which appar
... ently is tied into the BECM. I brought to the Chevy dealer and they said the BECM NEEDS to be replace ASAP because GM knows this is a dangerous situation and GM extended the warranty on this part to 150,000 miles. My vehicle is at 152,400 miles and they will not cover this. This is a serious issue that should be a recall that forces GM and Chevy to pay for this fix as it is something they have been aware of for years and it is a major accident waiting to happen. Please make them issue a recall for the BECM fix.Read more

I am the owner of a 2020 Jeep Wrangler JL with the 2.0L turbo engine, and I am writing to report a fuel leak issue that I believe is related to Recall Y10 / NHTSA Campaign 21V-665, which involves the high-pressure fuel supply line (Part #68297642AD). My vehicle is experiencing a strong fuel smell and visible fuel leak, and a technician confirmed the failure of the fuel line. However, my VIN does
... not currently show as included in the recall, and I have been told the repair is not covered under warranty. Given that my Jeep has the same engine, same part number, and identical symptoms described in the official recall — I’m requesting one of the following: That the dealer be allowed to inspect the fuel line’s date code and replace it under Recall Y10 if it falls within the affected range, or That Jeep/Stellantis cover the cost of the repair as a goodwill safety-related assistance, since the failure occurred outside the normal warranty but is consistent with the recall defect. I take safety very seriously, and I hope Jeep does too. Please let me know what documentation or diagnostics you need from my service provider to support this request.Read more

I own a 2021 GMC Denali with a 6.2L V8 L87 engine and 45,500 miles. I have confirmed the presence of metal shavings in the oil and oil filter, indicating that the engine is beginning to fail. When I took the vehicle to my local dealership, I was informed that there is currently no fix for this issue and was advised to continue driving the vehicle. This poses a serious safety risk—not just to me
... and my family but also to others on the road. A sudden loss of power could lead to a dangerous accident, and I do not want to be responsible for something preventable that could harm innocent people. My concern is that GM is aware of this engine issue but has instructed me to keep driving the vehicle, despite the known defect. How can GM be allowed to avoid accountability for such a critical safety matter? If a fatal accident were to occur, would the responsibility fall on GM or the NHTSA for failing to act? It’s also troubling that GM continues to profit by selling new vehicles, including the 2025 models, with similar issues, all while neglecting to provide solutions for affected customers like me. I purchased this $80,000 truck in good faith, but now no dealer wants to trade or buy these trucks without me taking a significant financial loss—something GM should be responsible for. As a taxpayer, I find it unacceptable that we bailed out GM in the mid-2000s, yet they continue to disregard accountability for their actions. I urge the NHTSA to take this issue seriously. A specific deadline should be set for GM to resolve this issue, and they should face daily penalties for every day they fail to provide a fix. If no resolution is possible, full refunds should be mandated. Please address this issue promptly, as it affects real people’s safety and financial well-being every day.Read more

Honda has known for years that the 1.5L engines installed in 2018 or newer Honda Accords have issues with oil dilution causing major catastrophic engine failures, head gasket damage, fluids leaking into the cylinders, and costly repairs to cars with less than 86000 miles on them. Honda Corporation needs to address this concern before someone dies when the cars engine fails on the highway. My vehic
... les engine failed on a major road when I pushed on the gas peddle and had no power due to these concerns. Dealership stated numerous vehicles are coming in with these concerns right now which begs the question that it is not a one off situation but a failure of Honda Corporation.Read more

While attempting to pass a slower vehicle in my 2018 Honda Accord with a 1.5L engine, the suddenly lost power and stalled down to 20 mph while I was alongside the other vehicle. This unexpected power loss put my life and the lives of others at serious life threatening risk. I immediately brought the care to a Honda dealership, where the tech was able to reproduce the issue. The performed a boresco
... pe inspection and confirmed that coolant was present inside one of the cylinders, indicating a failed cylinder head gasket. This type of failure should not happen, especially on a vehicle like this. I was the repair would cost $6,500. After researching, I learned that this is a known defect affecting the 1.5L engine and that multiple class action lawsuits have been filed. I also discovered that American Honda is aware of the problem and has instructed dealership service departments to report affected vehicles. In fact, they have even offered gift cards to service advisors who report these cases, but are charging customers for the repairs. That's nonsense. Just do a simple google search and you will discover what I did. During the failure, the check engine light and several other warning lights came on but only the check engine remained on. Since then the car has multiple indicator lights on. Despite multiple attempts to follow-up, the dealership has refused to return my calls. This is a serious life threatening safety concern that deserves immediate investigation. Thank you.
